Happy Monday! It is very cold but the sun is out, making the snow in the backyard look somewhat pretty. Nah. I take that back. Snow rarely looks pretty. ;) Thankfully, we didn't get too much yesterday, only 5" or so. Maybe 6". It was light and fluffy which meant it wasn't too bad to shovel. The hardest part is trying to find places to put it.

Who watched the Super Bowl? We didn't, not even the commercials. I saw the headlines that it was a blowout.

I didn't do too much again yesterday other than puttering. We finished the puzzle, played with the rats. OMG, the rats were hysterical yesterday! The babies were being super friendly which is unusual for them. Little bratty ratties. LOL They were climbing all over us, Livvie kept climbing into the trash can, and Cordelia chewed a hole into the bag of polyfill. They *love* running on the floor more than they did on the old carpet. W is funny running on the floor too- she slides somehow. I made the dogs a big batch of homemade treats and it was strange not having Ray under my feet the entire time. I keep thinking that she is going to be sleeping on her bed but when I go into the room and there is just space, it kind of kicks me in the heart for a sec.
Arlene texted me this morning to let me know that Leah finally got some sleep and to thank Scott for being a good back up for them both emotionally. He told us last night that he felt silly for thanking Arlene for taking care of her, yeah, she is her mom so of course she is, but he appreciates her. Arlene told me how much that meant to her too. Scott has been so worried about her since she had a very low tolerance for pain and this was pretty major work.

Gary freaked me out just now- said that we are getting more snow tomorrow and we might be in the 8-12" band! I am not seeing that on the weather websites, only 1-3" and that is all I am going to believe. *sticks fingers in ears and goes lalalala*

Today I have to finish the grocery order, which means I have to come up with dinner ideas. hmmph! I asked the family last night and they asked for jalapeno poppers and mozzarella sticks. That's not what I meant!
I'm sure I will be drinking a lot of coffee and tea, it is extremely cold today, right now it is 15* with wind chills down to 4* My feet are frozen solid. (slight exaggeration)

Have a fantastic day!

@LSlycord That has to be really hard on your kids, it is hard enough to make friends when you move. Where do you think they will go to college? I really hope that classes are in-person by Fall too. Congrats on the great-nephew! He is a big boy, does he have rolls on his legs? I always wanted a baby with rolls... I really hope that you can see him this summer.

@nancyr - that is the one nice thing about fresh snow- it covers up the dog poop on the lawn. For about an hour. :D Luther must be having so much fun in it. Did you get a lot? Good news that DS is doing OK with the new job, the less stress at work is worth the extra time commuting. How is your other DS and his MG doing? Enjoy hockey!
Scott doesn't know yet when he will be able to see Leah just yet. He hopes it will be soon but she is feeling pretty awful ATM. I will pick up some flowers to send down and hope to make some of the Jiffy Corn Casserole that she likes to go with them. She isn't allowed to chew any hard food for 2 weeks so that should be soft enough for her.

@taxed4ever hehe, maybe if I brag about how much snow we are getting Mother Nature will do the same here and make it all melt? I can only imagine how much the wool yarn must be, I don't know why everything seems so expensive. I would never be able to afford to scrap if I weren't a CO.
How sweet that Sadie called and you talked for so long. My mom told me that Cait called her last week and they spoke for an hour. You are very lucky to have such a close and fun relationship with your g-kids. How is Heather doing, has it been cold and snowy by her too? That is fantastic that the schools can reopen.

@Cherylndesigns I adore your new bed and beroom- everything is so rustic! The lamps attached to the headboard are a perfect fit! Great picsinside and out! Kinleigh is adorable. I bet that Ava will be able to bring back lots of photos for you to scrap. I don't think I could get on a plane any time soon either.

@felis Take ALL of my snow!! I would love to have the warm weather rand gardening mood hit me. I was rack with shelves that was covered in clear plastic but the plastic covering tore last season and I had to throw it out. I really need to look into getting another cover for the rack. I just followed Carla in Insta. Feel free to share any and all plant and garden info and photos. It makes me really happy that Tom (the possible new boyfriend) is making Cait happy. She needs a bit of a boost and she gets all giggly when she talks about him. :p

If you can't use the Insert Image (Ctrl-P) Icon to upload a photo , does the Attach Files (on the bottom left of the post) work for non-Cheery Os?

@bcgal00 Oh no! I am sorry to read that Bella and Jen are moving out. But good for Jen I am sure she needs time to regroup and to be with Baily. How is B doing, any changes? I am hoping that she has recovered since the last hospitalization. Tell her that the rats and I are sending her hugs and kisses.
I hope that you rare able to find a BFF for Taz soon too.

Hugs!!

Good morning - it is below freezing here today and it may not even reach freezing for a high. There is not much wind so little wind chill. Thank goodness it looks so good! I did not watch the Super Bowl as I could not take the whole game talking about Tom Brady. This idea that he is the greatest athlete of all time makes me laugh. He is great don't get me wrong but I still think that he is on a team. Luckily there were lots of hockey games in the afternoon so I DVRed one to watch in the evening. I did get a scrap page started. I am on page 20 of my Dec 2020 project so that makes me happy. It is not just about Dec it is really a 2020 project and I like that.

@faerywings It is cold and yes I saw that tomorrow morning more snow and again Thursday into Friday. The weatherman said we have already had more snow this month than in the previous 2 years put together. WOW! I had no idea we had so little the last two years or maybe too much now! How fun to hear about playing with the rats. Glad that Leah is finally getting some sleep. Poor girl! I am sure Scott and Leah will be so happy when they finally get to visit again. Good luck with figuring out dinners. My Oldest sent photos telling me how good his food tasted with our cheese and then yesterday a photo of the stroganoff he made in the crock pot and how good it smelled all day. I told him he was cruel. My other son and his MG are in a holding pattern.

@taxed4ever glad that Costco trip went so well. That is so true how wool and everything cost more. Though for us the cost of gas at the pumps has actually gone down. We cant travel anywhere but at least when we go birding it does not cost so much. That is so nice that your granddaughter calls just to talk. That is special. Glad to hear that school in person is happening for Heather.

@LSlycord that must be hard to make new friends this pandemic is so hard. Good luck with college search!

@felis I wish I could send you some snow! I love to share! Yes I am still working on the afghan. I had to put aside for awhile as my DH decided to move my stuff and I had to find it again. I made me angry so decided to put it aside. Thanks for asking.

Waving to all

Good morning everyone! It is a very chilly morning, but the sky is blue so I won't complain. SIL Linda txt me last night that she was coming into town today and would I like to go for a walk with her? So that is what I will be doing this morning. Heather will be having a nice quiet day at home today, so no face time with her and the boys. I managed to get my laundry and floors cleaned yesterday, but not the bathrooms so that will be on my to do list today. Got my page done and posted to the gallery and I was very happy with the way it turned out! Now to start working on another one later today. Other than those things there is not much else happening here.

@faerywings - Chris we did watch the super bowl but I only watched for the commercials the half time show was not great. It was strange to see the cardboard people in the stands and I can't believe that someone would actually pay $100 to have their cardboard self attend the game??? More money than they know what to do with I guess? Happy to hear the Leah is feeling a bit better and has been able to get some sleep. I bet Scott is anxious to see her! Hope your grocery order goes well today! Sounds like the rats have been making you smile, so that makes me happy too! Sure hope that your Gary is wrong about the amount of snow you will be getting and that you feet warm up soon!

@nancyr - Sorry I gave you some bad info about inserting an image here in the forum, guess that feature is only for us CheeryO's , perhaps what Chris suggested would work for you? I agree with you about Tom Brady, for goodness sake he did not win that game on his own!! Quarterbacks are overpaid, spoiled men, but then I think that most pro athletes are overpaid. Way too much money for playing a game, its not like they are essential services. I am sure you do not agree LOL and my DH and I argue about it all the time LOL. So I will shut up about it now! How nice that the cost of gas has gone down for you! Ours has gone up again grrr!! Good thing we don't go anywhere, except to Costco which is about 40 mins away. Hope you get to start up your knitting again, shame on your DH for moving it!!

@bcgal00 - That was surprising news to hear that your Daughter and her fur baby will be moving out, but I suppose it will be the best thing for her and Bailey! Sure hope that things work out for her!! Life has thrown you so many curveballs, its not fair and I think that you have handled it all so wonderfully! Hope that you will be able to find that special little puppy soon! Hugs!!

Ok I better get showered and ready for my walk with SIL Linda this morning, will have to really bundle up as it sure is chilly out there! Have a great Monday everyone! waving to everyone else who pops in here today!

Good morning ladies! I woke to a few inches of snow on the ground this morning. Bella isn't sure about peeing in it LOL. She is holding it as long as she can. She watched Taz do it but she wouldn't. I got a few photos of her racing around the yard, putting her nose in the snow...so cute! I sure will miss her when they move out in a few wks.

It's going to be a really cold week but I'm ok with that, I'd rather have a bit of snow, cold temps but no rain. I'm going to go change my selfie today, it's time to change the Xmas one.

@faerywings Hope you don't get too much snow. The kids suggestion for dinner sounds good :) I love poppers and mozza sticks. As for Bailey, she is stable now, thankfully. It will be really good for her to physically get to hang out with Jen soon, have some actual physical contact. It's not good for her to be so isolated from touch.

@taxed4ever Have a good walk in the snow this morning.

I'm going to get some work done. Have a great day everyone.

A bit late getting in here today. Was working on some scrap pages. Decided to change the sheets on my bed. So nice to be able to do that now that the finger is healed! DD#3 and her son did it for me the last time. Just have to put the sweatshirts from my last laundry load away... which involves climbing on a step stool to reach the shelves where they go. The weather has been warm since last week so am back to wear LS Teeshirts and regular pants - no long-johns needed.

Had a nice visit with DD#1 yesterday... SoDistance and masks for both of us. Haven't seen her in person for over 2 months. Finally was able to give her small food storage cups/tops back. Have had them since late November. She brought over some barbeque beef she had made. Had half of it with coleslaw for supper last night. So yummy!!

No personals today... have a long-distance call coming in. CYL

Hello girls!
So, let me clarify this! Did I explain it wrong or someone misunderstood me? I'm asking for snow! SNOW! Pretty white snowflakes as Nancy was described it. :mad:WHO sent me pouring rain? And it's not funny at all, try to clear all these muddy paws I had to deal with!!! Crap! Probably the snow is melted during delivery as Mother nature gives me raining buckets.
It was one of these lazy Mondays with shy son and strict schedule: work at the morning, house task afternoon. I had late lunch and just was left the kiddos out, when it start to rain almost immediately pouring rain. It was cloudy and languid weather which affect a lot my mood and messed my schedule. I think I'm not told you about that before, but I'm very proud of my idea for organizer this year! As I can't do anything without ToDo lists and bullet journals, I often end with sticky notes put everywhere: night lamp, mirrors, on the computer, and some strange places too, as night cream, or water pitcher. But this year I started to put all my notes at one of these albums with plastic pockets. As my plans depends mostly from extra time and lack of money, when situation change I'm able to move tasks forward or to drag something from most distant plans which will fits to the present free time. This makes my journal to looks more pretty, without torn pages or draw arrows. Tasks are not as scattered as with sticky notes, which allows me to focus better. And give more freedom and flexibility, than planner book.
So far I'm very happy with the results. Except in days like today when weather thwarts all good intentions.

Chris, I was thinking for rack at the cat house, but then how to prevent cats to not pee in. LOL! I'll take a look on the Attach Files option, maybe I miss something, but it's not a big deal on a back ground of all new cool features.
Hahaha Gary better to be careful what is wishing for! Scott is such a sweet and caring boy, reminds me for someone ;)! And this rat story is so cute! I perfectly know the emptiness you feels now and hugging you strong!

Nancy, I like your 2020 project too, have to take a look on the new pages! Oh, good that I'm not miss the final look of your afghan! I understand you so good, it must be fun, not stressful.

Trudy, hooray for the Heather's Me-time, so well deserved! When this madness end you must take girls only spa weekend! Have fun with SIL Linda!

Kay, I'm so happy that you was able to have visit with your daughter!

Rae, of course, I'm thinking of you! How is your back? Good luck to Jen on her new place! Hmm, I would be scared to live alone, but I guess Canada is more safe place. But the financial part and loneliness?! She is brave lady!
Rae, please do me a favor, check only once your local shelter FB page and site, and if you don't find puppy from breed and age you are looking for, that's all! That's all I'm beggin you! You are too good in care for dogs with health issues, that it's wasting of your talent to buy. And not all dogs from shelter have health problems! Most puppies are just from accidental pregnancy! Check once, please and I give you a word That I'll not ask you again!

I hope that you, all of you, not look on my Middle as a bad advertise of adoption! I know he is little disaster, and I would probably deal easier if Cheryl was give me wild coyote. But I absolutely love this dog, and human child needs way more time before to become consciousness and responsible person. Also every dog I'm adopt before was such an angel! Sometimes I'm complaining too much, but I wouldn't change my decision, I haven't any doubts about that!

Didn't get here last night to say hi. I'm really more of an early bird than a night owl. I'll be back for sure after Chris opens the Daily O's for Tuesday...it is Tuesday now, right?
