GoooOd morning, O-zies!
Is everyone rested and relaxed after the weekend? Right now, it is too early for me to tell. I know that I slept better and happier last night. No angry dreams and no waking up because I was falling off of the bed. Gary slept on the sofa last night and J stays wherever he is. So it was just me and Whisky last night. I don't mind that since she keeps me toasty warm.LOL

The vet appt was quick and painless. Titania's body was rejecting the stitches and all he had to do was clip it off. She should be good to go in no time.
What else did I do all day? Hmm. I started my grocery list for tomorrow, but I have no ideas of what to make for dinners (yeah, yeah-- I say that every darn week!). I crocheted a few more rows of the cap and if I can keep this pace up, it might actually be done before the summer
After dinner, we finished the puzzle together. It was a quiet day and it was weird for me to not be doing a ton of stuff.

I am off to the podiatrist today and I hope that they can figure out what to do about my ankle. Then I am heading to my mom's and then my brother is meeting us for lunch. He called me yesterday and it looks like the program he wanted to get into to go back to school for education won't be an option. The school wants a 3.0 GPA and he didn't have that back then. He is hoping that maybe they will be able to waive that since he spent 30 years in the same corporate office with excellent reviews and promotions. You would think that would mean something.
But we will be talking about that and other options for him. I know that he likes to talk to me because I tend to be- honest to a fault, shall I say?
My mom will sugar coat things, my dad will listen but say that it is entirely up to him. I pull out the list of pluses and minuses and I typically don't hold back. Already I told him that it would be difficult for him to get a job teaching at the elementary level at his age and being male, as unfair as that may be.
(I hope that someone is bringing a bottle of wine- we might need it! hahaha!!!)

Hoping that all of you have a fun and happy Monday!

Trudy- what a great birthday party and *fab* gift!! I bet he was so surprised! It is too bad that the kids weren't there in person, but at least Facetime makes it a little bit better. It must have made you so happy to hear him talk about it. Bet he is going to brag when he is at work today.
Scott still felt really crummy all day but was able to eat some toast and soup. Hopefully, he is much better for school today.

Nancy- go Devils! Maybe that win will help get them back on track. You just made my day-- 34 (now 33!) days until DST!! Wheeeee!!!!!! Today and tomorrow are going to be 50*- which means I am going to need to scoop several weeks worth of defrosting dog poop (times three. :hurt: ) from my lawn...
I hope that your guys get to understand how much that you do and how they can keep on helping you. Don't you give in and do stuff too soon.

Kay- gotta say it again, I am so jealous that you have a garage LOL One thing that I miss from the beast (my old Saturn VUE) is that it had a remote start. I had asked for it for Christmas when I first got it and I would have to drive the kids to the bus stop every morning. Now that I don't have to do that, I have no real excuse to "need" one and having to go out and warm up/scrape my car in this weather is no fun.
Nancy- being so short (I am 4'11") I too would love to not have to brush snow off of the roof of my car!
I knew that you had to be a military family but how awesome to get to seeTrudy- what a great birthday party and *fab* gift!! I bet he was so surprised! It is too bad that the kids weren't there in person, but at least Facetime makes it a little bit better. It must have made you so happy to hear him talk about it. Bet he is going to brag when he is at work today.
ITA with Nancy that you look way too young to have grand-- and great-grands! what is your secret??

Better get going, I have to wash and blow dry my hair which takes forever. You would think that I would cut it someday but then I think of curly/frizzy hair when it is short and I can't do a darn thing with it...

Morning ladies... well we woke up to a winter wonderland this morning :mmph: Yup our very first snowfall of this Winter. :smow: DH was really hoping that he would not have to dig out the snow shovel from the crawl space this year! Oh well that darn Polar Vortex has arrived here on the West Coast and it is very chilly out there and with a wind on top of it too. It is -3C. so that makes it 26F brrrr!! Still not prairie cold, but pretty cold for here. I think that where Rae lives over on the mainland got a lot more snow than we did though. It is still coming down right now, but at least it's nice dry snow and not the horrible wet heavy stuff we usually get. So because my DH thought he would not need his snow tires this year, he has taken my CRV to work and I am stuck in the house all day. Pfft!! I wanted to go get the paint I need today to start working on refinishing the staircase, but I guess it will have to wait until I can have my vehicle back. So today will be a good day to scrap a page, I will need to look through my photos and see what inspires me.

Chris - You must have thought that my Gary's gift was pretty great, you posted how much you liked it twice LOL. Yes I bet he will brag about his gift at work, especially to the Montreal Canadian fans :becky: WTG on finishing the puzzle! Did I tell you that I finally finished the one that we have working on? Well the one that I have been working on LOL DH did not contribute too much with it. I enjoyed it though and found it relaxing to just work away at it. I will now have to look for another. Wait I will be too busy re-finishing the staircase :mmph: Glad that the vet visit went well and that Titania will be just fine! Have a nice visit with your Brother, I hope that you can give him some good advice, its best to be honest about what you think (honesty is the best policy) my Mother always said.

Nancy - Thanks for cheering on the Bruins yesterday, it helped!! So nice to see Touca Rask become the winningest goalie ever for the Bruins!! Thanks to the Devils for beating the Canadians, too bad they won yesterday though, so still ahead of the Bruins by one point :mmph: Hope you are continuing to improve and just remind those boys of how much you have done for them over the years, they need to take care of you for a change!!
Wow only 33 more days until DST?? That will fly by hopefully and then we will all welcome the warmer spring days!! Snowing like crazy for us right now and the snow plow just made its first run up our hill. Must be frustrating for the driver to have so many cars parked on the street to try to get around.

Kay - Your enchilada sauce sounds amazing!! I just love guacamole! Probably not as spicy as you would like to have it though. The perfect food for a chilly evening for sure! So glad that your car is back in the garage keeping warm for you!

Alright the heat needs to be turned up a bit and then I better get the morning housework out of the way so I can start scrapping! Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, ladies. Other than walking with Taz, I'll stay indoors today. It is really cold (for us whimpy west coast people LOL). I hope the poor little hummingbirds survice this cold snap that will last all week. Taz is loving the snow. We don't have a lot, maybe 3" or so but it's enough for him to go running thru it and enjoying himself. He woke me up at 3:30 am to go out and I watched him running and leaping thru the snow so I don't think he really had to go out, he just wanted to go play. This is the only snow we've had this year.

We went to a superbowl party yesterday and everyone loved my paleo-friendly meatballs I brought and I brought a regular spinach dip for everyone (that I didn't eat). I did indulge in a yummy tart and cookie but did feel slightly sick last night so glad I didn't overdo it. I'm fine today though. It just tells me that sticking to a low carb paleo plan works the best for me and not to slip up too much.

Today is a very busy workday. I had a ton of work come in over the wkend so I'll be working off and on until about 10 tonight with just a quick break for meals and walking Taz.

Chris - have a good visit and talk with your brother, it sounds like he will benefit from your honest opinion and hopefully you can help him figure out what he should and can do. Hope the doctor figures out what to do abour your ankle (it's a ganglion I think, right?). I had one on my wrist years ago and it did go away eventually but it was painful for many months. Hope yours is treatable or goes away like mine did.

Trudy - that is an awesome b-day gift. Glad the celebration was such a success. It's great that G will have the photo in his den to enjoy. Sounds perfect for him!

Hope everyone else is well...Nancy....hope you are progressing well with therapy.

I'd better go, I have a ton of work, more than I can complete in one day and there will be a ton more coming in throughout the day. Looks like the first few days of the week are going to be crazy work days for me. I'd better get another coffee and get out of here.

Have a great day, everyone!

Hello ladies,
I'll jump first on personals because I had to comment few days at one.

Trudy, this gift is absolutely awesome!!! What a great idea! It my opinion this is The Best Gift that someone can receive (maybe only with exception of another pet). Gary is lucky man! Sorry that kids wasn't able to com see this moment personal! Why you not filmed it like on children party?I'm jealous about the snow!

Kay, how intrigued about your traveling! Egypt always take place in my imagination. I would love to see Bastet An ancient temple. She sounds as a goddess I can recognize as true. Do you keep some souvenirs from your trips?!

Nancy, absolutely, I feels like men never count properly the little daily tasks until they have to do them alone . So now is your time to behave pamper.

Chris, the new puzzle looks very interesting with all these drawings, and this time you finished it very quick. Oh good that Titania's condition isn't serious. How Scott is feel? Is it flu or cold Get well soon! Have fun with your family!

Rae, have fun at the snow with Taz! I'm jealous about that, we didn't receive enough snow this year, till other areas in my country had a bunch. I'm not surprised that your paleo meatballs was the star of the superbowl party. You knows how to hook up others to this paleo ideas.

I'm so disappointed from myself. This morning I had to wake up early and scrap first of my Valentine's day pages. But I'm messed the alarm clock with pm and am, why they don't do them normally with 24 hours dial?! Probably I wouldn't be able to scrape this week. I can scrap only in privacy with music and calmness. But now, except my sister all others are at home (dad is not on work too, some troubles with delayed spare parts), and because in this kind of spring weather the whole apartment is warmed only by the fireplace into my room, it's noisy and distracting.

Chris, (former teacher here) up here in Canada, being a male and wanting to teach in elementary is a plus especially if he is willing to go to the primary grades. There is an overabundance of females in the elementary school. Male role models in the lower grades is thought of as a good thing. I have no idea what brother's age is but that really should be of no concern if he has the qualifications and a specialty. Specialties are a huge asset. He should check out what the districts are advertising for and then head in that career direction. Up here on the west coast it is French, special Ed, and computer sciences.

The snowfall here near Vancouver BC is minimal. just enough to make a light cover on the ground. I salted the entire complex yesterday and so pleased that the roads are ice free and clear. Trudy, you guys got a lot more than we did by the sounds of it. I hope it didn't affect the blossoms that are coming out over there.
Yesterday I must have had a great deal of energy stored. After salting the roadways I completely recovered a worn out footstool. I had just enough fabric from my pillows to cover the stool. I am so proud. lol

I have to say that spring is really coming. The Indians equipment trucks left for Arizona (for baseball spring training) on Thursday. Pitchers and catchers report on Feb. 12th. This is the event I look forward to after October's World Series. And here instead of last week's below zero temps it's now in the 50s. Yesterday a great niece came over to learn about our family history. She's working on a PhD in clinical psychology and feels a need to have this background for her work. How cool for me!

Chris, enjoy these warmer days! Glad Titania is OK. Hope Scott is too.

Nancy, I agree with the rest that it is good for your guys to have to do your usual things (and things for you) to appreciate how much is done for them all the time. Your progress sounds wonderful and spring migration should be a good time to be out walking without the painful knee.

Trudy, how wonderful a gift for your G! Your pleasure at his reaction must have felt so good and you can share that with the kids to help them feel it too. Too bad the no snow tires caught up with him but left you sitting home. Hope you really get a chance to scrap.

Rae, hoping with you that the hummers make it through this cold. Are you heating the feeders? Wow, sounds like you've got way more work than usual to get done. Good luck with it all.

Kay, that spicy food sounds wonderful to me. Perfect for any time of year.

Felis, sorry you've got all those distractions getting in your way. Maybe another day?
