The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Please forgive me, I have no idea how much sense I am going to make with my words. My brain is TOAST. :voodoodoll:<~~~ My brain
I almost typed "December" and then I thought it was the 4th. I swear, I don't know if I am coming or going or what.

I spent most of yesterday walking in circles, muttering to myself. Scott called to say he was stopping in on his break and it was 1.30 and I hadn't even brushed my teeth. Ewww. I spent hours working on my meal plan for the week and my grocery order. At least that is done bit I have no clue what else I did.
But there were a couple of things that made me very happy! I have birds!!!!! :woohoo:
A bunch of tufted titmice and a sparrow (I think). Maybe a wren. I am having a tough time trying to figure out the app that came with the feeder. It is Birdfy if anyone is familiar. Scott suggested that I talk to Sam, she is the one who uses the app and will be able to show me around. I'll bug her tomorrow if there is time before the party starts.

Good thoughts request for Tom, please-- he had a job interview yesterday and it lasted 4 hours. That has to be good right? It would be much closer to here which is awesome, but the best and most important part is that he would be hired as an employee, not a contractor. That is what is he at his current job and it kinda sucks.

We got some snow overnight and maybe it will last until Friday's field trip. I don't; think it will be maybe? I wish I had room in my freezer, I would scoop some up and save it. :rotfl:

HAGD!

Woke up yesterday with a sore throat and headache. Spent all day on the sofa, knitting and watching old episodes of Midsomer Murders. Fell asleep on the sofa as well. Woke up at 2am-ish from a minor gallstone pain (not sure what the proper English word is, but it hurts like h***). It only lasted a couple of minutes, but what minutes it was. Still on the sofa, 2 pm here. I've become one with this sofa. Drinking tea with lots of honey. Started on a book that's really promising: Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica. I'm about 100 pages in, and it's really good so far. Trying to figure out how economy works - whether Trump's whatever-it's-called-in-English (my economy English is even worse than my medical English) effects the dollar. I.e. is this a good time to buy digi supplies or are they more expensive? I wish I was an adult!

My meditation app shared this sentiment. I think I will live by this today:Screenshot_20250203_131455_Gmail.jpg

My weather app currently shows 4" of snow for Thursday so *maybe* there will be enough snow to make snowmen on Friday??
*fingers crossed*

OK, who is this person wishing for snow?? And where is Faery???

It's like that joke of "How do you let people know if you are kidnapped?? Normally I'd say that I just finished a big plate of spaghetti and ketchup and oops, I spilled some on my button-down shirt. Or that I love snow. So now what? LOL!

Oh my, if I'm trying to count feeders (not hummingbird ones) she has roughly 5 in the back - plus she puts a line of seed down on the deck floor near the sliding door and another line on the deck railing for the little birds.
Plus she has 3-4 in front, it's crazy! I'll have to check he exact amount, now you have me thinking. I just know it's a full-time job filling, putting them out and taking them in at night. Plus it's expensive - especially this winter!
I think Scott is right. They will come and once one does, they seem to spread the word and all the friends and relatives come!
She set me up here a few years ago and I started to see so many woodpeckers and cool birds, amazing. But, then I got tired of fighting with squirrels and huge starlings who hogged it all so I gave it up!
This is too funny! I love it! Scott warned me that they can get addicting. He has been living in his house for 1.5 years and started with one small feeder. Now he had 4 plus the suet cage and I wouldn't be surprised is he and Sam add more this spring. The feeder app has a microphone that you can use to shout at the squirrels, I tested that out on him yesterday. He said he was out there one day adjusting the camera when he unexpectedly heard Sam's voice-- "a little more to the left." He had no idea until then that was an option to yell at the squirrels :giggle4:

Work was funny. It felt like I had not been gone a month and yet it was odd to make the drive to work. That's funny you had a cub outside your door. I wouldn't mind that as much as the big brown we had in our yard one year. She was sleeping under our bedroom window. This was when we lived in town too. Bears know no boundaries.

Today is church so its a quick in and out. Dogs demanding to be fed. Need coffee. Have a great day!
Yeah, your bears =/= to NJ bears!
Hope you were able to rest after church!

Ugh...-9 for the next 3-4 days with a wind chill 10°+ more. Time to get out my balaclava for walks with Remi. Yesterday my face was freezing. D is installing the fan on the fireplace which will help circulate that hot air a bit more. On a brighter note, it sure looks pretty outside and we have some sun peaking out from the snow clouds (a bit more coming this afternoon).
Ugh that sounds brutally cold. The fireplace fan will be so helpful too.
We are watching the weather to see which upcoming wk will be best to drive to northern Alberta to see the frozen bubbles at Abraham Lake. Lots of fun things to do this year. It'll be kind of fun to see what kind of Canadian based trips we can come up with. We all agree that we won't be crossing the border this year.
The ice bubbles will be really cool to see. Sorry that you can't/won't/ wouldn't want to cross the border but you have so many gorgeous places to visit where you are.

Is anyone watching American Primeval? I have gotten a few recommendations to watch but we aren't sure if/when we might. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
We finished Decameron last night, it's a limited series on Netflix. If you liked The Great or Lady Jane Grey its in the same vein as those but more comedy then "historical" or fantasy. I laughed out loud so much.
Bubblewrap.....no need! I sat most of the day away playing games and/or eating! I was threatened, too, and told I could not play pickle ball with the others out in my daughter's driveway! No worries! Not going there! My son-in-law, being the funny boy he is.....bought me a pair of PJ pants with pickle ball paddles on them! I will never live that episode down!
:floorlaugh: Your family is hysterical!!! I'm glad to hear that you were safe!!
I hope that time flies and June will be here quickly for the next gathering. They always seem like so much fun!

Eva, I hope that you are feeling lots better soon. I looked the book you are reading. I think I read, The Good Girl by that author. Good luck with figuring out the economy/dollar stuff. Wish I coudl help but all I know its that it's been pretty wild here.

Good morning scrappers
We had a fabulous time at the Neil Diamond impersonator concert. 12 of us filled a whole table and we were VIP's so right in front. Sometimes he sounded like the real ND all in all he did a great job. We all had fun. Some people (they didn't even ask if the seats were taken) sat at our table while our friends were getting drinks...when our friends got back to claim their seats the woman was so mad that she had to leave that she kicked the table and pouted for a long time...why do people have to be that way???
The energy co is working on our new power line today. The are boring a hole under the street and will have to dig a hole right through our cement walkway. They warned us they will have to shut the power off for several hours today.

All this talk about birds I have 4 feeders for songbirds that I use black oil sunflower seeds in and feed the ducks etc cracked corn twice a day. I love the idea of a camera on the feeder.

Oops got to go. Ill try to get back later.

Good Morning All!!!!

We got some snow overnight and maybe it will last until Friday's field trip. I don't; think it will be maybe? I wish I had room in my freezer, I would scoop some up and save it. :rotfl:
What???? HUH????? Chris is this you?
Woke up yesterday with a sore throat and headache. Spent all day on the sofa, knitting and watching old episodes of Midsomer Murders.
Oh Eva I am sorry to hear you are sick. It sounds horrible. Especially to be woke up by gallbladder pains. Glad you were able to be one with the couch though and take it easy.
My weather app currently shows 4" of snow for Thursday so *maybe* there will be enough snow to make snowmen on Friday??
*fingers crossed*

OK, who is this person wishing for snow?? And where is Faery???
Oh good, you recognized the crazy you were speaking above!!!!! :floorlaugh: I thought maybe you needed me to come post bail at the looney bin. Worse case, pick the pink straight jackets. Its prettier :giggle4:
The energy co is working on our new power line today. The are boring a hole under the street and will have to dig a hole right through our cement walkway. They warned us they will have to shut the power off for several hours today.
Yeah that they're finally getting this done!!! Sorry you'll be without power for hours but yeah that it will be done. Why do they have to dig a hole in the walkway? If they can. go under the road why cant they go under the walk way? Seems fishy to me.

Yesterday was a good day. Got a couple challenges done. Trying. to get then done before the month goes crazy on me and its fun to do them but it feels a bit wrong getting them all done so quickly. Its only the 3rd. Oh well, I have an AJ or two I can do this month (hopefully). Car is in the shop (again) and hopefully this time (4th) they have all the parts and can actually fix the sunroof! I would say its a good thing its winter but this winter has had the most rain ever and had they not taped my roof it would have leaked like crazy. Fingers crossed 4th times the charm and its done. Time for more coffee. Have a wonderful day!

Good morning! Thought I'd stop in while I'm listening to Procurement 101 videos at work in preparation for my new job. It's pretty dry training. It's supposed to be a nice 70* and sunny today here in mid-Missouri. My apologies to those still dealing with snow/ice. Hubby is still waiting to hear about the job he interviewed for but hopefully it will be sometime this week. Most of the basketball games this week are away and I don't work those. The Boys Basketball Showcase (tournament) is this weekend so I'll be super busy starting Friday after work. I'll have nine games to keep the book for both Friday and Saturday. That's my quick update before I go back to listening about State Procurement processes. Have a great day!

Happy Monday everyone! We have a winter wonderland here this morning! Our first snow of winter and its still coming down. DH took my vehicle to work today as his truck is not good in the snow. That's ok I don't have anywhere to go and I need to get the coupons sent out for the challenge winners etc today. I will be spending most of the morning sitting at my computer. We had a love meal at SIL Linda's last night and watched as the snow fell so pretty in the background. My Gary got spoiled for his birthday and so many good wishes from friends and family on Facebook. We dropped MIL and FIL at their front door and hopefully they will stay warm and dry in the house until all this snow melts away! @AK_Tracy do you have any snow yet?? I know this white stuff will not hang around for too long, but it sure is much needed on the mountain tops! I slept in until 8am so I am running behind and expecting a face time call from Heather shortly, so on to personals and then more coffee.

@faerywings - Ok what have you done with the real Chris!! Should we call the police? Have you been kidnapped?? :eek2: I don't think I have ever heard you say you are hoping for snow!! :gotcha:

@tanteva - I am sorry you are feeling so ill! Yes things are all up in the air about what will happen to our economy! We will see what happens, but I try not to talk politics here at the O its a happy place and a political free zone!! I hope that another couch day will have you feeling much better!

@BoatLady - Your Neil Diamond impersonator sounds like he was great! How nice that you got front row seats!! Yes, why do some people have to be that way?? Just apologize and move to another seat for heaven's sake!! Hope your power is not off for too long today!

@AK_Tracy - I am crossing my fingers and toes that your car is finally fixed today! Have fun with the challenges and hey if you get them all done, then you start over again and get them done twice right?!!

Ok off to make the bed and empty the dishwasher before Heather calls! Have a wonderful Monday everyone! :waving3:

Good morning ladies. My GF is coming over this afternoon so we can call the tour company to book our trip. We'll all ask questions to be sure of all details before we pay the money. I can't wait to get this confirmed. We are 3 episodes away from the finish of Yellowstone. We are loving this last season. Its pretty chilly out there today, cloudy (so no sun to warm the face up as I walk Remi) and -25 wind chill of -35 (-31F). The good thing is that when we go on the polar bear tour the weather will probably be warmer than here.

Did I tell you that my cocoa/cottage cheese keto brownies were a hit? Jen and I loved them. I will put in a bit more vanilla and monk fruit sweetener next time and they were better with a dusting of stevia icing sugar on top. D wouldn't care for them, his palate is used to much sweeter things but for Jen and I, it sure fixed our chocolate craving.

Next I want to make homemade almond flour crackers.

Today I'll get some CT work done and I have lots of jewelry beads to organize and put away, before my friend comes.

@faerywings I knew the birds would come! Yay!

Time for one more coffee and check out CT stuff before getting dressed and outside with Remi. Definitely wearing the balaclava today for our walk.

Morning, all. What a change... stayed above freezing last night/this morning. Already reached 50*F at 9:30AM and heading for 70*F!!! :wow: Think I will air the house out this afternoon and may turn the ceiling fans on!!! :fan: Won't be dressing in the sweatsuit today...:floorlaugh:

1 more challenge LO done and uploaded yesterday along with 2 LOs for Jenn - Joyful Heart. Scrapped 2 more this morning.

I am feeling much better... so much so that I changed the sheets on my bed yesterday afternoon. Now to get them and the towels laundered. :laundry: May even feel like doing a few more chores around the house. :sweeping2::mopping::vacuuming: Not quite up to Spring Cleaning even with the warm weather...d

@faerywings Wanting snow??? :eek2: Well.... hope you get enough for the HS session... but not too much.

@tanteva So sorry you have been sick... and gallbladder pain, too!!! Yes, the sofa is the place to be.

@BoatLady Glad you enjoyed the concert... UGH about the power being off for several hours but glad they are finally getting the power lines buried for your house.

@AK_Tracy Congrats gal on getting some of the challenges done... especially early in the month. Glad you got some snow as I know you need it.

@deej Sounds like you will busy as can be with the games... what exactly do you do at them??? Is this volunteer work??

@taxed4ever So glad that Gary had a good birthday celebration, Snow?? I would be staying home, too if it snowed here.

@bcgal00 YIKES!!! That is so cold!!!:brrr: Hope you get all the answers to your questions about the cruise. Have fun playing with your beads...

Time for more :coffeedrinker:and get dressed. HAGD

@deej Sounds like you will busy as can be with the games... what exactly do you do at them??? Is this volunteer work??
I am the book keeper. I sit at the official table with the scoreboard operator, stat board operator and announcer. I keep track of all points scored and by who, as well as fouls on each player and the team. It is volunteer at our school. I get paid with a free popcorn and soda at the concession stand. There are some local schools who do officially pay their book keepers though. This is my 15th year doing it for Calvary Lutheran High School and I just love it! It's so much fun to watch the players grow not only in their skills but their leadership and Christian values as well. The current boys coach is an alumnus of the school. It's really cool to see alumni coming back and helping the school grow.

AWWW! Hope you feel better soon!
But I have to admit I laughed at your "I've become one with the couch" comment! I feel that way about my recliner on a daily basis!

Good Afternoon!
I've been busy today.....after sleeping in until 8:30!

Placed a grocery order last night for pickup between 10 and 11. They started shopping at 9:30. So I headed out the door to make the church bank deposit, run to the church to check the mailbox (that I forgot to check yesterday.....again!), and on the way back, I was notified that my grocery order was ready! After picking the groceries up, I went to the post office to buy stamps for the church. ($0.73 for each stamp is highway robbery, if you ask me!). Mark sent me a text at 10 while I was out and wanted to go to lunch. I was able to go home and get the groceries put away before heading back out to pick him up. We went to a place called Ranchos. They have good sandwiches, but I usually stick to having a BLT with half and half tea.

Tonight for supper I'm fixing baked potatoes and stuffed green peppers. Mark plans to go to the woods after work since the weather is beautiful today with a high temp in the low to mid 60's. Perfect wood-cutting weather for him.

I need to get some CT work done today! I have no scrapping mojo, but I need to force myself to do something! I'm behind on my daily ATCs, so maybe I will work on those. I haven't even set up my February CT tracking yet!

Had a great weekend with the family. The weather was pretty nice, too! We played lots of games, ate lots of food, shared lots of hugs and kisses.....my kind of family gathering! I wish my deceased hubby could see his beautiful family now!
DSCN8737-2-web.jpg
My sweet friend, Ilene, spent the whole day with us! My family considers her as part of the family!

My son and his wife left Saturday evening to begin their trip home. He had a pickle ball meeting Sunday afternoon that he had to get back for. And since the flooding late last year washed away part if I-40, they had to travel North to go South back to Alabama.

My SIL (the sister of my deceased hubby) left before church yesterday to get home to her animals. She lives in Ohio about 45 minutes from my oldest.

My daughters and their families went to church with Mark and I yesterday. It was nice to have the extra people in our services. After the services, my oldest, Jessica and family, headed North to Ohio. Elisabeth lives about 18 miles from me, so they didn't have far to go. I love spending our last hours in church worshiping together! The perfect end to a wonderful weekend!

And a full weekend makes for an early bedtime. But I stayed up long enough to do some church paperwork and play some Rummikub with my sister.

Now to personals.....
Good thoughts request for Tom, please
You got it!
I have birds!!!!!
YAY!
a sparrow (I think). Maybe a wren.
a sparrow will have a bit longer tail feathers, I believe! And a wren's tail feathers are usually standing up!
I wish I had room in my freezer, I would scoop some up and save it.
This reminded me of the year the tornados went through the midwest in 1974. My dad was collecting the softball-sized hail balls and putting them into the freezer.......until the tornado came over the hill behind our house and he had to run for his life!
OK, who is this person wishing for snow?? And where is Faery???
:floorlaugh:
Your family is hysterical!!! I'm glad to hear that you were safe!!
I hope that time flies and June will be here quickly for the next gathering. They always seem like so much fun!
Yes, we have a lot of fun and laughs! Our gatherings are too few and far between!
Some people (they didn't even ask if the seats were taken) sat at our table while our friends were getting drinks...when our friends got back to claim their seats the woman was so mad that she had to leave that she kicked the table and pouted for a long time...why do people have to be that way???
All people think about is themselves, Debby! They don't care about anyone else! I'm glad she wasn't carrying a gun!
All this talk about birds I have 4 feeders for songbirds that I use black oil sunflower seeds in and feed the ducks etc cracked corn twice a day. I love the idea of a camera on the feeder.
I love watching the birds! I might have to invest in one of these camera feeders! I have 2 feeders, a suet cage and a butter feeder. I even have mocking birds and thrashers feeding, especially when I have a column of feed hanging! They wipe it out pretty quickly! Speaking of which.....I need to place another order from Wild Birds Unlimited......
Car is in the shop (again) and hopefully this time (4th) they have all the parts and can actually fix the sunroof!
Guess what.....we have to take mine back to the shop tonight. Engine light was off longer this time, but came back on a day and a half after we got it back! I hope the 4th time is a charm for you and the umpteenth time is a charm for us! ;)
listening about State Procurement processes.
talk about boring! How do you even stay awake?!
Our first snow of winter and its still coming down.
WOW! I can't believe it is your first snow! I love watching it come down! But after I get pictures, I love watching it melt away, too! ;)
-25 wind chill of -35 (-31F)
Oh, man! That hurts just thinking about it! You know, one of those COVID face shields might be beneficial in those winds!
Today I'll get some CT work done
Boy, I need to do the same! But I have no mojo!
I am feeling much better
So glad to hear you are feeling better, Kay! Now, will you send me some of your scrapping mojo and cleaning mojo?! JK! ;)
Spring Cleaning
What is that????? ;)
I get paid with a free popcorn and soda at the concession stand.
One each per game, I hope!
The current boys coach is an alumnus of the school. It's really cool to see alumni coming back and helping the school grow.
That is so neat! Love to hear about alumni coming back to their schools and working!

OK, that's it for me. Need to try to get some scrapping done! I'm not crazy about the CP colors, but I need to try to work with some of it! Maybe try them on my ATCs.

Have a great afternoon!

The Boys Basketball Showcase (tournament) is this weekend so I'll be super busy starting Friday after work. I'll have nine games to keep the book for both Friday and Saturday. That's my quick update before I go back to listening about State Procurement processes. Have a great day!
Oh my you will be a busy girl this weekend. Hope youre not too bored with the videos at work.
@AK_Tracy do you have any snow yet?? I
Nope and at this point, nope dont want it.
@AK_Tracy - I am crossing my fingers and toes that your car is finally fixed today! Have fun with the challenges and hey if you get them all done, then you start over again and get them done twice right?!!
Now there is a thought. Do the challenges twice!!!! Good idea Trudy!!!
Glad you got some snow as I know you need it.
Nope, the photos in the challenge layouts were 2022. We still just have a thick layer of ice over everything.

This is too funny! I love it! Scott warned me that they can get addicting. He has been living in his house for 1.5 years and started with one small feeder. He had no idea until then that was an option to yell at the squirrels :giggle4:
Yes! I think you have the same as my sister and as my friend. I looked at the IG link you shared and the bird feeder was in the video and it looked like their, so I think it's the same! Now that I am home in NJ, if I see my sister out there I can talk to her in IN through the mic.o_O And, yes! We've yelled at the squirrels too through it and my friend's husband does also. :rotfl:

Had a great weekend with the family. The weather was pretty nice, too! We played lots of games, ate lots of food, shared lots of hugs and kisses.....my kind of family gathering! I wish my deceased hubby could see his beautiful family now!
That's a beautiful family photo! :beatingheart:
