Happy Monday! Did everyone miss me this weekend? I missed you guys but I was so happy not having to deal with "real life" for a bit that I was too content to notice.

We made it to the house around 4 and all I had to do was unpack the car and light the fireplace. Feet up with a glass of wine by 5.
Ray seemed a bit confused why she was there alone but then chilled all weekend too. Cait did some homework, my mom puttered, and I read and crocheted. Remember that yarm my mom bought for me? I crocheted three rows of the scarf pattern and I didn't like it at all. It had clusters that bunched up too much, so I ripped that out and started another pattern and I like this one much better.

I was so happy hearing Cait and my mom chatting and laughing together. Although, after dinner on Saturday we made my mom worry about us. We were playing Oregon Trail and the cards spread out on the table almost reaching a candle. I blew it out and moved it aside. A few minutes later, Caitlyn told us that her throat felt like it was closing. What she *meant* was that she was starting to wheeze. My mom was getting worried but Cait said not to worry unless she started to turn blue, which made my mom freak out a bit more. I don't even know what happened next but Cait started to laugh and cough. I started to laugh and cough. The more that we looked at each other - it would set us off even more.
Cait insisted that she was fine and played her card and it was that she died from a snake bite. That set my mom off even worse, we started laughing-- and coughing-- and we ended the game. My poor mom!
The next day I looked at the candle-- it was citronella and said in very tiny print: "For outdoor use only" Whoops!!!

When we got home, the two Maniacs were so excited to see us. I kinda missed them too  I missed Gary but he and Scott and Leah seemed to have a good weekend. Our neighbor's best friend passed away a few years ago and his wife is moving. Apparently, he was a collector of all things and she invited him to come down to see if there was anything he wanted. Well, that just put Gary into a state of bliss!

Today is a day for me to get paperwork/food shopping ready for tomorrow. I should try to make it to the Food Pantry before I go shopping. I also have to make an appt for Ray at the vet. While she was resting on Cait on the car, Caitlyn noticed a new skin tag, different from the papillomas that she has. It almost looks like an engorged tick but it is not. Hopefully, they can look over at all of the tags she has and see if we need to do anything about them. They don't bother her at all, but I don't want to take any chances.

I will do my best to catch up with everyone from the weekend posts but it might take me a while. Inthe meantime I am sending coffee and hugs!

good morning - well yesterday was a lazy day. But I slept really well last night and today woke around 7:30am. Today is a fun day as it is trade deadline day in hockey. This is the last chance for GMs to trade and make their teams better for a try at the Stanley Cup. Shows from Canada are on from 8am until 4pm. The first part of the day is a lot of speculation and then the trades come a bit later. Lots of trades have happened already but there are still big names out there who are expected to be traded. I will try and do some laundry and cook and then there are hockey games. And right now it is foggy but it should be sunny later so I should be able to get Luther out. The rain seems to be gone and may get into the 50s. Yea! Still though with the damp it is still cold.

Chris you weekend sounds awesome! Love how you and Cait can make it other laugh. That is too bad your mom get a bit overwrought. Funny about the candle being for outdoors. Glad you blew it out! Of course you missed Gary but I know I love my alone time. Welcome back safely!

Rae hope you had more fun with Taz. The photos are so cute! We love our cast iron pan also. Love it for steaks and works so well for frittatas. Enjoy the steak.

Trudy sorry about the day getting to windy for a walk. But seems like you got a lot of chores done. Now that the wine is bottled how long before you can drink it? Have a good day. And yes I saw that you now have two Nashes on the Bruins. They cant even put an initial as they both are R. Too funny! He looks so strange in a Bruin sweater after so long in a Ranger sweater. Does you MG think the Bruins gave up too much to get him. He is only a rental player and he is UFA at end of season.

Jean the Yankees are undefeated in preseason baseball but does that mean anything LOL. We should be above freezing for the next few days too so that is great. Did you see someone in Alabama saw a yellow cardinal. How cool would that be.

Felis have fun in the snow and hope you don't get too too much. Glad you had such fun scrapping!

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... It is clear blue skies here this morning, but still very chilly! Hope the hummers made it through another very cold night last night! I changed the formula for the hummingbird food on the advice of a local expert on hummingbirds. He says in the cold weather the little guys need a mixture of 3 to 1 to get them through the cooler winter months so I put out a fresh batch yesterday and man you should have seen how many birds we had!! Fighting over it all day long :boxing: I was surprised that they could get to the feeder with all the wind that we had yesterday! Today is a pretty boring one, not much to do, so I might just head out to shop downtown and see what I can find. I will pop into the consignment store and see if I can find a pair of Jeans, my favourtie ones that I got a few months ago are too big on me now and I need to get a new entry mat for garage door that comes into the house. Nothing too exciting by any means. Oh and today is our anniversary, funny but I almost forgot LOL. 41 years ago I married my MG, wow that is a long time :becky: We are planning on going out for a nice steak dinner tonight.

Chris - I can tell that you had a wonderful relaxing weekend, you can hear it in how you wrote your post this morning. (if that makes any sense at all) So funny that you and Cait made each other laugh that way, but your poor Mom, she really has to learn to relax a bit LOL. Glad you snuffed out that candle, no wonder Cait was starting to wheeze. I hope that you two get to have more weekends like that, time spent away from everyday life is always refreshing! Hope that Gary got some great finds at the neighbours and I bet that everyone was happy to have you back at home again.

Nancy - I never even realized that there were two R Nash's now on the Bruins, see you are a much better fan of the game than I ever could be :becky: So far he hasn't helped with winning as they looked so bad playing last night and to lose to Buffalo?? Do they think that they don't even have to try to win? Hopefully they do better when they get back to home ice again. DH does think that they probably gave up too much for this trade, but he is happy to have him as a Bruin nonetheless. As for the wine, it is a white wine and it has already aged for 6 weeks so it can be consumed right away. We usually wait a few weeks for the Reds before we drink them, but really it is not necessary, but the Reds are nicer when left to age a bit more. Hope that the fog clears quickly for you and Luther so you can get out for your walk.

Felis - So nice to hear that you got the snow that you love so much! We did get out for a walk just before supper time yesterday, but ohhh it was still very chilly when the breeze would pick up and my ears got very cold, I should have worn a touque or ear warmers I guess. It was nice to be out in the sunshine though! Hope that you can get outside with your dog today to romp in the snow!

Jean - So happy to hear that you might have some spring arriving your way. The In-Laws did not end up coming as they had lots to do at their church and just wanted to head home afterwards. Oh well perhaps next week we will get a visit in.

Rae - :hello: I hope that you and Taz had a fun time yesterday afternoon, is your snow melting away? I can't believe how much more snow you got than we did. There is none on the ground anymore.

I will grab another coffee then I will hit the shower and try to get to the stores when they open and hopefully they won't be crowded then. Have a great Monday everyone!

Good morning, ladies. Had fun yesterday with Taz outdoors. We went hiking in the afternoon so he could enjoy the snow as it is melting away fairly quickly. We still have 5-6" in spots but other spots are down to an 1"or so so the warmer temps yesterday melted it very quickly. Last night we watched the Big Brother finale and then watched the 3 Walking Dead shows (bonus show, new show and the aftershow). Great tv night for us. I was worn out from my wkend of shoveling and hiking a lot so enjoying laying back in my chair with Taz, snuggled up in an afghan and watched tv all night after dinner. Our steak was really good, cooked in the cast iron. I did all the seasoning steps with flax oil but cooked with coconut oil last night. I checked with our local organic store and they are going to see if they can order in some organic beef tallow for me to cook with.

Today D is home (he's taking off a lot of Mondays now to use up some of the extensive vacation days he gets from work. Later we'll get some tax stuff figured out and then he'll probably relax in his chair this afternoon, watching tv, as he is still quite stiff and sore from all the shoveling we did. I'm fine now, I did a few bouts of stretching yesterday which helped.

Chris - sounds like a lovely wkend away. Your poor mom though, getting stressed. I totally get it about the laughing, Jen, Bailey & I get like that too, we get started ,then one stops and another gets it going again and by the end we are all coughing, crying and laughing LOL. D thinks we are crazy when that happens :)

Nancy - enjoy following the games and trading going on today. How nice you will get temps in the 50's. We are hovering just below freezing still. Ugh. I want spring now :)

Trudy - happy anniversary! Good thing to know about the hummers. I'll try 3:1 ratio for my next batch. I'm not sure when its baby making time for them but I hear that's a good time to add more sugar to the ratio too. I'll have to research that. Let me know if you hear anything about that. Hope you find some good jeans today.

I'm grabbing another coffee and getting to work now. Have a great day everyone.

Sunny and 50 here, so pretty nice! DH got back to Hum & Strum this morning and had a very good time. Last Monday was a holiday and the week before he was sick, so it was good to get back.

Felis, since you like the snow, it's nice you've got some again. Hope you get to enjoy it.

Chris, knew you'd enjoy the weekend. Interesting about the yarn and changing patterns. Hope all is OK with Ray.

Nancy, hope the hockey trading today is worthwhile. Guess your games this week are all away? Enjoy these warmer temps. I'm sure Luther will want to walk lots.

Trudy, happy anniversary! 41 is a long time. Hope you find good deals on jeans and stuff. Congrats on needing smaller ones. I'm even wearing something smaller, my mother's high school ring which never quite fit on my ring finger. Good idea about changing the hummer formula. Must have been quite a sight when you put it out.

Rae, I'm afraid I don't know about hummer feeding in the breeding season, but I'm sure you'll find info online. Glad you got past the shoveling pains. Hope you do have a nice day.

I am back for a few, got a lot of what I needed to cross off of the to-do list done.
I am going to run through Friday and the weekends quick as I can, then I have to spend some time in the gallery. all of you who posted today -- I will get you tomorrow in the morning :)

Fri:

Nancy- That is so cool about getting the PE puck and pin! More to the collection. I had read that article by the radiologist. Terrifying. I think Congress needs to read/see these. Reassuring that your son as a vet agrees with more gun control.

Trudy- I am sure that you let us know how Hunter is but I am sending him hugs. as a kid who grew up on needing to take prune juice often (yuck), I don't understand how anyone could like it but glad that he did :)

Rae- I saw some pics on FB over the weekend of Taz in the snow- looked like a lot. Great finds of the cast iron skillets.
R didn't chew on the new toy but she was really happy when she found a small piece of gravel to chew. Instead, W and J destroyed the toy when we got home. Funny that you said that about the toy box- I was saying the exact soem thing to Caitlyn- I used to do that when I was teaching and when the kids were little.

Jean- how fun that spring training is here!! Hope your team does well this year.

Felis- Muddy isn't the word here at the moment. We have had so much with snow melt and with rain that out basement is flooded. :( Forget about the lawn! That is sweet to make the page for Quilliam! Can't wait to see it!

I am going to post this and then work on the weekend!

Rae- OH WOW!! A foot of snow! That has to be unheard of by you. I hope that it melts quickly. How did Taz do getting through the snow?
The pics looked like he was having fun :)

Trudy- bet you were very happy to not get that foot of snow ;)
if he doesn't poop in another week????????????????????? :faint2:
I hope that I will read good news from Sunday

jean- the weather in PA was right between 35-39* all weekend. As long as it stayed over 32* we are all good, right?
Congrats on the perfect score for the puzzle!

Felis- good to hear that you spent a lot of time scrapping!

Will be back to do Sunday next...

Nancy- what a long ceremony- was it supposed to be 90 minutes? What a neat experience, esp for all of the fans and a win! In some ways it will be nice to have the week to stay closer to home.

Rae- 16" is insane... so glad we never got a big snowfall like that this year. *knocks wood since there is still a month left of winter* How freaking adorable how Taz would burrow under the snow!!

Trudy- did you have a nice visit with the ILs? Hope that the wind means warm weather is moving in, not cold ;)

Jean - we are finally getting a bit of sun today, seems like you tend to be a day ahead of us with weather patterns. Can we keep the sun and above freezing temps for a long long while??

Felis- I bet you are so happy to have snow! Can't wait to see the hedgie pages.

HUGS!! xoxoxo
Hope that the mud doesn't get to be too much as it all melts.

Good morning my dears!
You know me I can resist. We try to play at the snow at the Monday afternoon, but it was still too wet and fast stick to the fur, so we had to quit. But will try again :) . We have 3-5 inches and the world is so pretty!

Chris, haha, I'm afraid I'll react like your mom to this group laugh, so I understand why she was wondering. It's awesome that you can share one moment of pure fun! Keep us updated about Ray! I knew you'll like the hedgehogs pages :) , thanks for the comments!

Jean, I can imagine how pleasant it was for your husband to be back to his band after half of month! Enjoy to the sun, the Spring begin! I know this is the last snow for us too, so I'm happy that is much.

Rae, sounds like great movie night! I totally understand needs from relax after the snow play :D !

Nancy, what better than exciting hockey day! Did teams going better and made good choices? It's always better to watch one strong team.

Trudy , happy anniversary! Hope you get much fun on your special dinner celebration! How nice from your side to try new recipe for the hummingbirds! Did you found jeans who to likes?
