Good morning and happy Monday! I am back and feeling rested. At least ATM... give me some time before I overwhelmed by life again. hahaha!

We had a really nice time. It felt great to hear my kids laughing together so much. Like as in made my heart whole. I guess after the big fight that they had in January, I had been nervous that things wouldn't be the same with them. Of course, there was a bit of bickering but they are siblings after all. *wink*
My parents were well-behaved for the most part as well. Only a bit of bickering and sniping from them- also expected after 54 years of marriage.

I didn't do much of anything other than read. I finished the book that Rae suggested. Nope-- I didn't figure out the plot twist all either. Caitlyn brought the rats with her and I am really proud of my mom. She pet them and even fed them bites of chicken. My dad accepts them but isn't crazy about them but that is OK. He'll get there. Scott went for a long hike which is his therapy. He came back excited to share some pictures of the trees and moss up there. My mom was getting anxious that he wasn't back quickly but I knew that he would look at everything that he could. If the hike itself takes an hour and a half, as my dad said it would, he could easily double that time out there. It took him 2.5 hours to walk the trail- considering it was only 34*, I was impressed.

Today I have to catch up on some housework and laundry and get ready for food shopping tomorrow. I also have to see when I can make it back down to the hospital. They gave me the wrong CD for my MRI - I have someone's colonoscopy. They won't put mine in the mail, either so have to pick it up in person. ugh...

Stay warm and have a fab day!!!

I am going to do a quick rundown of Sat and Sun, so I am apologizing in advance if I miss anything.

Trudy- I hope that all of your snow melted, at least a lot of it. The stairs are going to look incredible when they are all done. You def. deserve new carpeting :D
Happy Belated Birthday, Heather!!

Rae- quiet days can be very nice-- did you watch anything exciting? Have you seen any commercials/reviews of Whiskey Cavelier? We are recording it when it comes out, but we don't know anything about it.
Hope you had time to scrap.

Kay- I see that you were not feeling well- hope that you are all better by now! That stinks that you had to throw out some leftovers, but yes, better safe than sorry. No one wants to get sick like that. Were you able to make it out to dinner yesterday?

Nancy- I wish there was an easier way to get your strength and flexibility back than PT but good for you for working so hard. You need to get that knee if shape to walk the steps at the Rock!

Jeannette

Rae- How could anyone not adore Taz? I bet he gets spoiled everywhere he goes.

Felis- mmmm! Bet your house smelled so good from the buns baking. How nice to be outside and to hear lots of people too.
I miss jean too and I hope she posts soon.

I have to log off now-- HAGD!! xoxo

Hi everyone. It's another sunny day here, and I've been busy doing some much needed housework. Later this afternoon I'm going out with the dog for a walk. Feels so good to be out in the sun. Sadly it's the last day, the rest of the week will be a bit colder, and there will be some rain. But since it's only February we can't complain, and coming weekend looks amazingly good!!

I'm waiting on replies for two job applications. I'm a bit nervous, because I would love to have one of these jobs. They both look amazing to me, but I'm 50, and I have been sick for almost 2 years, so chances are low. I hate the dissapointment, especially when they will not even take the time to give me an interview.
We'll see, I may not even get an answer until next week.
My kids are home from school, they have a spring break, which is rather stupid because it is not even spring yet. They don't mind though, and I like having them around.

Chris - I'm glad you feel rested, and I so agree on the laughter of kids. It's the best thing ever! I'm lucky, my kids do have their issues from time to time, but they get along great!
Do take it easy on the housework. Don't do too much and feel tired again. Somehow, no matter what we do, that housework never walks away. It will always be there tomorrow and the day after etc etc.

I hope everyone else is doing fine, feeling good, and enjoys life!!

Hugs to all.

Slept in this morning until 7 AM. Guess the body is still recovering. Yes, I was able to make to dinner out for DD#1's birthday last evening. Good thing I double checked... I thought it was at Red Lobster but it was at Olive Garden. They are side-by-side so understand my mix-up. It was a mad-house there - so crowded with long lines. I missed that part as I didn't get there until after the family had been seated.

Also had a pot-luck lunch at church yesterday. So much good food... but I kept my selections down as I wasn't sure how my tummy would react. It did fine. Had my photo taken for the directory - along with a few other 'new-comers'. Glad I was up to going for that.

DD#3 invited me to go to dinner with them on Wednesday. One of her BFF and hubby will be in town this week and wants to see me. Haven't seen her for several years.

Then on Friday, will be going with the Seniors group [from church] out for lunch at the County Line - they have great barbecue!!! Plus will be going to the Game Night [church group] that evening. You might say this is my week for eating out!!!!

Chris, glad your mini-vacation to your parents house was so good. Sounds like it was a good relaxing visit. Glad the kids are back to getting along well. Always does your heart good to hear them laughing together.

Jeanette, wishing you good luck on getting one of those jobs. Wow, you are having some lovely spring weather early! Enjoy working in the garden while it is nice. We are having March winds early... been blowing here all month which makes it too cold to work outside. I am glad I have a garage so I don't have to go outside to get into the car. Snow is in the forecast for today and tomorrow. Don't think we will get much 1" - 2". Have a couple of errands to run so will do it early today and hope I beat the storm.

Good Morning ladies! Happy Family Day to my friends in :canada: I hope you are all enjoying the holiday Monday! I was MIA from here yesterday as DH and I were bottling a bit of wine and finishing off the one of the three Banisters and Spindles upstairs!! Only two more sections to go! It is looking awesome! It is a blah day out there today, mostly grey clouds and just above freezing. Yesterday was such a beautifully sunny day and temps were mild, it was a shame that we had to spend a lot of the day inside painting and staining!! DH got his truck dug out of the snow, so his back is a bit sore today. He will be able to go to work in his truck now at least. :becky: Well as long as don't get more snow! So lots of melting happened yesterday, it was good to see!!

Chris - So happy that you had a great relaxing time with your parents! Also warms my heart that your kids had some great laughs together too! Scott's hike sounded amazing and he must have been so happy to be out there! Cute that your Mom actually fed the rats and hopefully your Dad warms up to them one day! Back to reality today and :washing: ugh! Hope your day goes well and you get everything done!

Jeannette - keeping my fingers crossed for you to get the job you want! I think that employers actually prefer to hire older women as they know that they are more reliable and don't always want the time off to go to a party or whatever LOL. Not that all kids are like that certainly. However when I went back to work after Heather's illness, it seemed the kids were always calling in sick especially on the weekends when there must have been parties going on. Heck most of them only worked on the weekends, then they call in sick?? Really?? Ok I will shut up about that :tape: LOL. Enjoy your lovely weather! Hopefully it continues for you!

Kay - My goodness it really will be your week for dining out! Enjoy it! Sorry you did not get to go Red Lobster, I know you were looking forward to that! Olive Garden is pretty awesome too though! We don't have one of those on the Island yet, it would be great if we did! I slept in until 7am this morning too, hooray!! Yesterday it was 4am and I curled up on the couch in front of the fire and read my book. The kitchen was too cold for me to sit there on my computer, so I was glad to have a good book to read and keep warm! Hope you are having a lovely Monday!

Rae - Happy that you have had such a nice few days! Bet Taz is a happy dog with his new treats and visit to the store! I see you were able to scrap this weekend too! How nice for you! Yes I will get to your Pinterest page today. I am the same and rotate my meals with just my fav's and really I don't crave anything at all, but good to at least offer DH something new once in a while too! I wish he would go all Keto with me, he needs to lose his belly fat!! But what can you do? I can't make him eat that way if he doesn't want to. I hope you have a great visit with B today!!

Felis - What a wonderful way to start the day with those heavenly smells in the house and the sun shining in your window! So fun to see the owl too! Felis it is never to late to scrap beautiful springtime pictures!! I hope you get to! Thank you for the Birthday wishes to my Heather!

nancy - Wow you slept until 9am! You must have really needed it! Or were you up all night watching hockey and movies? LOL Sorry that your knee was hurting the other day, but glad that it is feeling better now! Probably a wise decision not to attend your Hockey game, but I see that your Devils won, so you must be very happy! Enjoy your Monday!

Ok I am off to the shower and then I really need to spend some time here in the gallery etc. I really hope to do another painting today too. Here is my latest one, I know that a few of you have seen it on facebook, so this is for you Felis LOL!

Good afternoon, ladies. Had a quiet morning reading my book and enjoying coffee but now I am working. I don't have to work today but chose to this afternoon b/c if I can get all the backlog done today then that means the rest of the work week will be a lighter load, so I don't mind. We were staying home today anyway. We had a good visit with B yesterday. I still haven't made my desserts to freeze so am going to get that done later today. We're having chicken for dinner and I'll make up some cauliflower rice for me.

So that's the extend of my day's planning, other than walking Taz and doing laundry.

Chris - glad you had a good time away. Bet Scott loved his outdoor walk.

Trudy - I love the colors of your painting.

Jeannette - sending positive vibes your way for the job.

Kay - how nice to have your car in the garage. I hate having to go out and defrost and scrape ice off the car in the winter.

Hope you all are having a great day. I'm getting back to work for a bit and then taking Taz out for a walk.

Well I got a big surprise seeing one of my pages at GSO! It has been a while since I checked that site.
Trudy, you are right, we on the mainland, didn't get as much snow as you did on the island. I hear the forecast is for another bunch coming all week and a big dump on Friday. Still not like the East Coast but lots for where we are.
BTW I really like your painting. Do you sell them or are they for your own pleasure I love all the movement it has.

Yesterday was chili making day for DH. Every once in a while he gets the urge for chili then makes a huge pot and we freeze it for those days when I am too lazy to cook. Seems to be a lot of those lately.

It is Family Day here so DH is off. We were going to take the dog into town (Vancouver) and walk along Jericho Beach but it is kinda miserable outside and DH is not feeling well. Guess I just have to scrap. awe shucks lol

Hello girls,
I didn't have what new to share today and was decided to skip posting. But then I saw (first on Instagram) Trudy's lovely painting and should come and comment it.

OK, do you allows me to make a little trick:twisted::
Happy Family Day to all Canadian ladies! I hope you are all enjoying the holiday Monday! It's another sunny day here, but the rest of the week will be a bit colder, and there will be some rain. Today I had to catch up on some housework and I'm overwhelmed again. :evil2:

Trudy, this painting is awesome! Love this mysterious unruly water!!! So many associations comes in my mind: the magical golden fish try to escape into the melting snow river flow, or angry Neptune makes wave at ocean or mother Nature dancing in waterfall and ect. , every time I see it a new story comes to my imagination. I love the numerous possibilities that abstract painting offers! Is that the painting for Heather?

Jeannette, fingers crossed to get the job you want! My mom is in similar situation, she was fired, so this month was on few interviews. And she also is agree with Trudy that employers prefer to hire older women as they know that they wouldn't quit soon because of pregnancy or moving in the new husband's town. Actually she would have already received the job that she wanted, but they told her that she have to travel with personal car and she don't have a driver license. So I'm sure you have a pretty good chances, act more confidently!

Chris, happy to hear that your 'escape' was a nice one! Would be awesome if you can steal and scrap some of Scott's forest photos!

Kay, week for out funs sounds pretty good! Hope to can lift your spirit! And also that weather wouldn't change your plans!

Rae, hope you have a nice long walk and fun desserts making after that!

Kythe, congrats for the GSO! In my opinion chance for honors is the reason why layouts have to be posted public! Bad that you should cancel your dog walk! Hope to have inside fun, anyway!

Finally got enough energy to open the door to the O this evening. I spent last week in the hospital with pancreatitis and never looked at the Internet the whole time. It will probably be a long road back to normal and there are concerns about how I came to have this happen. But I'm eating a little and getting a little less pain, so things are improving.

I haven't read the backlog of messages and have to apologize for not doing personals right now, but I can't not comment on Trudy's so inspiring painting. I love the stories Felis could make from it.

Well, I've got over a week of life to catch up on and today I made a few inroads, but everything goes so slow.
