Good news-- 34 Days until Spring!

Thank you for encouraging me to do the countdown, it is honestly helping me a lot. Just running a quick search for spring clip art makes me happy. Seeing the numbers going down every day-- even more. :)

I am going to be quick again. The fever broke last night, always fun to wake up in a cold sweat and have to change PJs cuz you are soaked and shivering. But at least that part is gone. The worst of the body aches are too. Now I am just exhausted and a little lightheaded still. It is funny how my family worries when I can't get out of bed. It is so totally out of character for me.

The washing machine tech is coming back to put in new parts so I want to get in the shower soon too. I have got nothing planned but I think I am at least going to be upright today.
Have a wonderful day.
Oh yeah, Happy Valentines Day! I love you all!!

@LSlycord That is something else to look forward to! How old is Bo? You're going to be busy the next month or so too, looks like you have a lot of good times planned. Don't forget you are going to share pics of the paper chain with us!!
Are you working with Andie and Hayden at the same time? At first, J was interested, then gave up. We love that dog, but she isn't the brightest. LOL W is extremely smart and the family intended the buttons to be more for her anyway.

@BrightEyes How are you doing today? I said the same to Scott last night, crazy that vaccinations would upset your stomach, at least I wasn't vomiting like he and I did after our covid shots. But dang the fatigue is brutal.
Get this-- I slept until almost 7 this morning. Typically, half of my day is done by 7 am. (Slight hyperbole, just slight hahah!)
Sending some gentle hugs and cozy blankets to you~

@mom2triplets04 Sounds like you got spoiled for your birthday!
So wait a minute. Whoa. Back up.
You *haven't* read the last HP book yet?? *sputters* how? why? wah? Why not?? JK, I am guessing that having your hands full with triplets would do that. :D
I had gotten Book 7 the day it was released and I had plans to take my kids to the local beach that day. Plopped myself into the beach chair, told the kids "don't drown" and read the afternoon away.
(wait, is that what happened to my kids?? Kids, what kids?? Haha!!)
Hope you have a blast scrapping with your new stuff!!

@felis you know that you can share with us the bad times as well as the good times. What is the saying? A burden shared is a burden lightened?
Sorry, I can't remember exactly what it is, but I hope you get the meaning. We are always here to listen and support. Think of it this way. I am only speaking for myself but I would bet that the other ladies here feel the same. I am a "helper." It is just my nature, a big reason I became a preschool teacher. I feel good about myself when I am helping other people. When other people are down and I can support them, that reaffirms who I am, in my core. So when you share the bad times and I can help you-- you are also helping me! Does that make sense?
I have been following the Ukrainian conflict as best as I can and I have been worried about you, looked at some maps to see where you were located. I hope that this can be settled diplomatically. I cannot imagine how unsettling it must be for you and your country. (((((hugs))))

@VickiStegall So happy to hear that our little spring countdown made you smile!

@CherylndesignsHope you had a nice visit with Adrienne!

Hugs to you all!

Oh Chris, I am so sorry that you had such a hard reaction to the shingles vaccination. I will put in a plug for that vaccine however. My mom had breast cancer and lung cancer. She also had shingles. She swore that the shingles were much worse than any of the chemo or radiation from the cancer. She was a tough lady and didn't complain much but the shingles were awful!

Didn't do a lot yesterday. Feeling the fact that vacation time is almost over...LOL...or whatever we want to call this time off of work. I am still tracking on my goal to do 280 comments in February. Now I need to make a goal for layouts because I'm slacking there.

I'm so organized now that I know how many gift cards we have to restaurants. The number is a lot! Starbucks alone is six cards at over $46. Neither Brian nor I care for "FooFoo" drinks. We take our coffee black. But it would be good to get out of the house someday and go get a coffee. Or maybe I'll send Sydney off to school with a coffee card. She doesn't drink any coffee at all but surely that will change when she gets to college.

Finally think things vis a vis Shingles vaccine side-effects are almost over. I slept most of the last 3 days and nights. Temp was normal yesterday but felt extremely tired and would drop off to sleep when I tried to read. But the good news was I hungry at suppertime - first time since this all began. No, Chris... I was not nauseated - just not hungry - so forced myself to eat sometime at least twice a day. The arm is still sore but the fever is gone from the injection site. Going to take a shower and get dressed this morning.. then see how the rest of the day goes. Have a couple of errands that need to be done by Tuesday and before the cold front comes in late Wed/Thurs. One model says snow for us.. and one says it will miss us.

@faerywings Glad to hear you are also feeling better and to hear your fever broke finally. Just take it as easy as possible today until you are sure the lightheadness is gone. Hope the new parts will solve the problem with the washer.

@LSlycord I agree... the vaccine is worth the side-effects. I had Shingles 28 years ago and don't want to ever have them again. My dad had just died and I had helped Mom for a few week then the night before I drove back home (700+ miles) I had a terrible backache. Got home and broke out the next day with Shingles... Then had to evacuate the day after for several days due to a hurricane heading for where we lived. Not a good time as I had to isolate in a hotel room until we could go back home. I would class my side-effects as moderate and would still take the vaccine.

The house is warm enough so I can get a shower... so better do that now.

@BrightEyes I am so glad that the side effects have mostly subsided. Wow...you had a terrible time with shingles. Yay for vaccines. I need to remind Brian to go get his. At least showered and dressed will make you feel better.

@felis remind me where you live. I need to take a look at my geography I think. I cannot imagine the anxiety you and your family must be feeling. I am so sorry. And I 100% agree with @faerywings, I am a "helper" too. So if anytime you want to talk, please jump in!

@mom2triplets04 Happy Belated Birthday. What a sweetheart @Vicki Robinson was to gift you with a coupon. I love that you got a fountain pen. I had to go take a look at Goulet pens. Sounds like you were completely spoiled as you should have been!

Has anyone heard from Rae? I can't help wondering if they have found a home to buy. I sure hope so!

@tanteva I love your new avi!

@taxed4ever hope you are back to sunshine this week and no more fog!

Now I'm off to do a couple of layouts. @faerywings one will have photos of the chain, I promise!

@faerywings Well there is a story about harry potter. I started reading it with my kids when they were in 4th grade. We did it as our summer reading. Well, it was too advanced for them and we were told to not read itl So we waited another year. So 5th grade we read well we listened to the audio books in the car as a family. We listened to book 5 as a family. They didn't want to read on. I read book 6 alone and I still have not read book 7. I do own the audio book so I should just listen. We were reading and watching the movie it was a fun time but my kids aren't interested in continuing on so I never did finish it. Yes, I own the book and the audio books. Thanks for the birthday wishes.

@LSlycord thank you for the birthday wishes. Yes I was spoiled. My parents and in laws gave me money and I bought 2 new pocketbooks from macys. I got a pink and a teal one. I am a sucker for pocketbooks. Luckily I don't have a shoe problem but I do have a leather problem. I also have quite a few fountain pens. I liked to journal so I use them often.

Got up early today. Dropped off Myla to camp. Hoping to spend some time with my hubby before kids get home from school. My one daughter is having her boyfriend come by tonight. the other two will be home. Not sure what we are doing for dinner since yesterday was my birthday and we have been eating out for 2 days straight. The electrition is coming today to give us an estimate to put cameras in our yard so Myla can be out there freely without us worrying about her escaping.

Oh we went prom shopping for dresses friday night. Lots of tears were shed. My two girls competing against each other. and what the heck why are the prices so high? $300 -$500 per dress plus alterations are extra. That is crazy when I have two that need dresses. Then they kept changing their colors and they didn't want to wear the same color. One has a date and one does not yet both are trying to get these fancy dresses. My poor son came and he was the one carrying all the dresses to the fitting room. It was a. nightmare. To make a long story short. They got nothing but photos in all different gowns. So we have to go again to other places as the mall was crazy pricing.

Good morning all,

Up early today - I've been up for awhile, but have had coffee with Chuck. He had to leave to run errands today so I'm on my own.

Chris @faerywings hopefully you're on the mend - your fever breaking is a good thing! Kay @BrightEyes sounds like you're on the mend too. Good news from both of you. I just don't think I can go through one more shot reaction right now - however, I KNOW shingles are terrible, too. Adrienne wants to get one, so maybe I'll go with her. My arm still hurts but I've decided it's triggered by the cold weather. We dipped down for a couple of days and it hurt all day. We're at 52 right now and it's going to be near 70 in a couple of days.

I didn't get back on here last night because Ava surprised me and came to visit. She stayed for 3 hours and we had the best time together. I just love talking to her! She had a senior picture photoshoot yesterday and we looked at all of those pictures, for one thing. Sunday usually turns out to be family day. We normally get together for dinner, but Roger is in Florida and the kids were all gone, so we didn't do dinner this week. We just ended up hanging out together. First at Adrienne's, then down here.

Laura @mom2triplets04 SO happy that you had a good birthday! Sounds like you did get spoiled.

I'm going to get off of here and go see what I need to do. Happy Monday and Happy Valentine's Day - we stopped doing anything for each other, but if you do - have a good one!

I need to get dinner ready, and the oven is NOT cooperating! Have you noticed how loooong it takes for the oven to get warm when you're in a hurry? I swear it senses my stress levels in some way. LOL

Been scrapping today ... 1 layout for Karen's challenge and 1 for the Anna Lift. Haven't uploaded the Anna Lift one yet, wanted to let it stew for a bit and see if I want to add or fix something.

This cold is weird. Felt fine yesterday and this morning but in the afternoon my nose started running again, and I was feeling a bit cold and tired again. I was well I thought!??!!! Anyway, sat down by the TV with my knitting and a couple of hours passed. Now I need to get dinner ready before Urban gets home in like 15 min. Will not make it, but that's the oven's fault. Have some Crunchy Quorn Fillets and will make french fries in the air fryer, and made a gravy kinda sauce with tarragon. Weird dinner for a week day, feels more like a Sunday dinner, but .... I had to use what I had at home, cuz we haven't been shopping properly for ages. Good thing I have the cupboards and the freezer full of food ... but we really need to go shopping soon. Dinner's are getting more and more inventive over here. LOL

Good Morning and Happy Valentines Day to you all! We do not celebrate this Hallmark occasion thank goodness! I know my DH loves me and he knows I love him, so why spend $$'s on frivolous things that we do not need. I know I'm an old grump LOL. Had a nice long face time with Heather this morning! Poochie was sleeping like the dead, I am sure the boys tired him out over the weekend and he probably didn't get his little puppy naps too often. Poor little guy! Not much going on here today, I got all my housework, baking, laundry done yesterday, so today is my day to do whatever I want! I plan on catching up with a few things here and then I need to get a birthday card done for Sadie and one for DH's Auntie Betty. She will be 87 years young on the 1st of March, she's a real fire cracker and we just adore her! So that is my plan for the day, that and thinking of what the heck to make for supper tonight??? Ugh!!

@faerywings - Your Spring Countdown always puts a smile on my face! Thanks for that! I am sorry that the Shingles Vaccine hit you hard, but I suppose its much better than actually getting shingles! DH and I still have to get the shots and we are not looking forward to it that's for sure, but hey we don't want shingles now do we?? Hope the washing machine is finally fixed once and for all today! We love you too!! Happy Valentines Day!

@LSlycord - hope you get to your goal for comments this month! I know I will fall very short of that number, I am a bad CheeryO :(. Yes I suppose that you will be done with your time off of work very soon, enjoy these last few days without work! I have not heard anything from Rae either and hope that everything is going well with finding a new home! I know its brutal out there, so many people wanting to move to B.C. and such a shortage of homes that are for sale. I keep stalking her facebook page to see if she posts anything, sure hope things are ok!

@BrightEyes - So glad to hear that you are feeling better and that your appetite has returned! You can't keep a great girl down! Hope you are feeling well enough to get your errands done and that the snow does not make an appearance where you live.

@mom2triplets04 - It does sound like you got very spoiled for your special day! Happy Be-lated birthday to you! OMG I can't imagine going dress shopping for two girls and then I suppose your son will be wearing something fancy for his prom too?? The prices sound very high and I hope that the girls can find something that they like and don't break the bank getting them!

@Cherylndesigns - How nice to have the visit from Ava! The surprise visits are always the best ones! Enjoy your quiet time alone today!

@tanteva - Love your new AVI! Yes its frustrating when the oven takes so darn long to heat up! My new one seems to take longer than the old one I had. What's up with that?? You would think it would be the opposite! A lot of times I use my big toaster oven instead as its heats up so much faster! Wonder if perhaps it is allergies that you have and not a cold? I never used to have allergies , but the past few years they have plagued me, watery itchy eyes and my nose runs continuously. Who know what the reason is ?

Ok off to the shower and then some puttering around in my craft room for a bit before I head back here. Have a lovely day everyone!

Happy Valentine's day, lOvelies!
Even if you not bother to celebrate it, as I have seen in most of your posts,
I wish you calm and cozy day/evening/night (I'm not pretty sure what time is it to your area already), despite everything else with a dose of festive feeling in it!

I'll only stop by for some quick replies, as it's not too polite to left a question without answer.

Oh, Chris, you are so sweet and naive at your good intention. I love you, yknw!

Who do you think you lie?
I don't remember from how long I know you (at the days when you adopted Whiskey), but I know you well. And I'm never saw someone else who is so prone to worrying !
Even if you can find a way to comfort, you will takes all theses worries with you, and will suffer for others like if it was happened to you. We have term for that on my language, it is something like 'takes it to the heart', I think that the close you use is 'take it too personally', but that isn't enough accurate. In that case Shared joy is a double joy; shared sorrow is ... a doubled sorrow too.

@felis remind me where you live. I need to take a look at my geography I think. I cannot imagine the anxiety you and your family must be feeling. I am so sorry.
Thanks!
My country Bulgaria is situated in Southeastern Europe. On the edge of Europe, the beginning or end of it, depends of the view point. We share the same sea with the Ukraine, and will support them when/if it become necessary.

Felis, I'm thinking of you. Sending love. Such frightening times in this world especially for your part of it. I had sworn off watching the news reports, but have started again with this imminent threat. Please keep us posted as you can.
