helllloooooO! Happy Monday to you all.

What a messy weekend we had here. We got a nice layer of ice, then a 4-5" layer of snow and then that was topped up with another thick layer of ice. I would rather have a foot of fluffy snow that this mix. Yeah, I went there.

We made Leah stay over again last night. I think that she wanted to head home but was ready to stay here. After I got home from visiting with BFFATS who said that the roads were really bad, and seeing how it was still sleeting, I told her I wasn't letting her leave. LOL

Today it is supposed to be sunny and 35* and my fingers are crossed that the roads clear up. Caitlyn's first class was canceled so she doesn't have to leave until noon. Local schools have a delayed opening. Scott doesn't have to leave until 10 am so he should be good to go.

I have to get to the supermarket this morning but I don't need rush to get out and about. The weather will keep some of the older people home and the parents who have Elem school kids will be running late too.
I hate that food shopping wears me out so much that I feel drained the rest of the day. It shouldn't be like that. And I think the Rival Commercials that make me green with envy ATM are the Caribbean Resorts and Blue Apron, which is the one that sends you all of the ingredients for meals to your door.
:eek:hwell:
This afternoon, I have to move the "china cabinet" back to the DR. then fight with scrapping. Then trying to figure out what to make for dinner. Hmph!

I have such a boring life. hehe!!!

Hope your day is filled with a lot more fun than mine:D

Nancy- did your weather stay rain the whole time? I had talked to my mom mid-morning and they were only getting rain too and she lives in Morris County, about 45 minutes from me.
How was lunch and the game? So nice to hear how you and your family make Devils games a family thing. Hope the Devils didn't get beat up.

Oh Danesa, I feel your pain. I hope that you aren't too banged up still by the time you read this. The Conservatory sounds like it was filled with beauty! Scott would be able to tell you all about the different plants if he were there with you. He has a huge collection of cacti and succulents. He did have to get rid of one- and old man cactus IIRC. It looked like it was covered in a soft white fuzz. But NO! It was the most painful thing if you got too close. The fuzz was like little shards of glass and if you even brushed it, it would cover your skin with it.
The Biltmore Estate sounds a lot like our NJ Botanical Gardens and Skylands Manor. Bet your photos are wonderful!

Rae- I feel you- where do the days go? Hope that you got everything done that you needed too. Yeah, that diet does sound rough but I understand what you mean by having carbs makes you crave more carbs. Good luck with the diet. One more ?-- Is this a jump start type of diet or something you have to stay on long-term?
Very cool about your Shredder (again-- it is the little things!)

off to get in the shower. xoxo!!

good morning - my team did well for the first 20 min except that even though they were leading 1-0 they were being out shot by like 15 shots to 3. We had one shot and scored. However then the 2nd period started and Brent Burns shot and he scored twice. He is amazing. The Sharks went on to win 4-1. But we had a lovely time before the game at lunch. Good fun! Lots of kids at the game as it started at 12:30. Today is the last day I have to take the dogs to training. We got at 2pm today for our final training. My DIL is loving how well the dogs are doing and she is working with them. Yea. So it is worth my time and effort.

Chris our weather was not bad, the rain began freezing to the branches but then by this am it was all gone. No snow at all. Now we just have lots of wind, strong wind gusts. I am hoping tomorrow will be much better.

Danesa so sorry about the fall. Glad nothing was broken. And the Biltmore Estates are such fun to go through. Have fun going through all your photos!

Rae that is so interesting about the diet and if you eat carbs you crave carbs. Keep us informed!

Have a great day!

Morning ladies!! It is Family Day here in B.C. and so DH is home from work. A lovely sunny day here but very chilly and frosty. It is nice to see some green grass again. Hard to believe that last year at this time we were actually cutting the grass. I was MIA from here all day yesterday and barely spent any time at all on the computer. It has been a full weekend that started on Saturday morning with a phone call from the In-Laws. They actually called for some help (a miracle in itself!) The wharf was all messed up again from another windstorm that they had and so they need DH to come and help correct it. So most of our morning and part of the afternoon was spent up at the lake. I had a nice visit with MIL and we talked and talked about family genealogy. I laugh at her because she is trying to get info about certain members but refuses to spend any money on ancestry.ca or any other kind of archive places to help her locate the info. Anyway she was showing me all these very cool old postcards that her Aunt Mary used to collect. I will have to borrow them one day and really go through them. After we left we had to hit the grocery store and wine supply store, so by the time we got home it was supper time and nothing else had gotten accomplished. Sunday I spent the whole day cleaning the house from top to bottom and then helping DH get his truck out of the snowbank that the plow had left it in. Hooray I will have my CRV back this week and I am hoping that my lungs will let me get in some swimming perhaps on Thursday as I don't think I could do it yet tomorrow. Still a bit of a cough, but certainly much better than a few days ago!

Chris - I don't have much more of an exciting life than you do and I dream of a nice warm beach these days too. I know I already had my vacation, but it just makes you want to have it again! Good plan to make Leah stay the night, you would have felt so awful had she left and gotten into an accident!! You are a good mommy!! Nice that you made it over to your BFFATS place and I hope you enjoyed the visit! Good luck with the grocery shopping! That delivery of meals to the door would be heaven!! I hate grocery shopping too and the decision s of what to make for dinner every nite is the pits too! Sure hope that your scrapping is not a battle for you! Your pages always turn out so lovely!

Alright with DH home I guess I better get some breakfast for us both and get this day going! Hope you all have a wonderful Monday!!

It is a cloudy day, but thankfully a bit cooler- in the 60's but still himid as usual in South Louisiana.

Had a great weekend. Sunday we played a computer game togehter (Me DH and DD) then she went to a movie. DH went to see his parents and I lounged around because I took a pain pill and was sleepy. The DD and her hubby came over and we booked our flights togehter for our vacay to a sandals Resort in Grenada. They invited us. So happy! We hung out for an hour or so and then my other DH came by and we played on the computer again.

Today I am doing nothing...tomorrow I will do my errands. Maybe get some scrapping in!

Hope those of you who are freezing get a break in the weather.

Good morning, ladies. Yesterday was a write-off for me. Other than taking Taz to the park for an hour I lounged around and watched TV. I had what they call the "keto flu" as my body is changing from processing mostly carbs to now mostly fats. So I went thru periods of cramping, discomfort, dizziness and extreme diarrhea. I wasn't worried though b/c I was prepared for that to happen. Today I feel fine and I'm down 2 lbs which is good as it means I'm drinking lots of water and flushing my system out. It's now day 3 and I still have no hunger/cravings. This is telling me that this plan is for me. I wish I could eat carbs and not bloat, crave, have mood swings and gain weight...but that is not possible. After struggling for about 25 years, I give up. Goodbye carbs. I have a tracker (kind of like WW) so I know how much fat/carbs/sodium/fiber I consume. Last night I was shocked to see that I was under my calorie allotment for the day by quite a bit so had to eat a snack last night. What shocked me was that I was absolutely not hungry and had no wish to eat (that's a miracle for me LOL). So I had a small piece of garlic coil and a bit of cheese. So, in a nutshell, it's not easy, it's not for everyone, but I think it's for me. Later, when I reach my goal weight I can increase the (good) carbs in my diet a bit but I will always be a low-carber, it just seems to work for me. Anyway....you are probably sick of hearing about my diet now LOL.

Chris - your life is not boring, it is enriched with good friends, family and pets and if your life is boring, then so is mine LOL. I'm happy with this "boring" life. I had lots of drama when I was younger, I don't need it now :)

Trudy - I bet you'll be happy to be driving again. I start going crazy after a few days of no vehicle to myself. Enjoy your day home with your DH, mine is on call and is heading out the door now. Unfortunately, he has gotten call after call this wkend so hasn't been home much. By next wkend he'll be exhausted after 12 days of work. Poor guy. Good thing he only has to do this every few months.

Nancy - you've been so great, helping with the dogs. Bet you're glad today is the last day.

Sharon - still having warmer weather? Hope we do soon too. Yesterday hit 50 here but then cooled off to 27 this morning. I am longing for spring now.

I've got lots of desk work today so I'll be spending most of the day in my office. I'll be popping over to the meat store later so I can get a couple of big steaks and salad greens to make a caesar salad for tomorrow's dinner. I've got a friend coming over in the afternoon so I can show her the basics of digi scrapping as she wants to learn so won't have time for grocery shopping tomorrow.

Have a great day, everyone.

Trudy - on topic of genealogy, be sure MIL knows to use the FamilySearch website: familysearch.org. It has lots of info including Canandian and it is all FREE. It is part of the Mormon church's Family History Library. I don't know if Canada has the same service as US, but most public libraries here offer Ancestry's Library Edition with free access in the library. It is worth checking into.

I'm still here and you can see the LO of my past week in the gallery.

Hope everyone is surviving Monday!
