Daily Ooo's: Monday, February 11

I am really trying to channel my inner Sally but my inner Sally is yelling for coffee. (and :sheep: )

More sleet and ice this morning and we have a delayed opening which screws up my eye exam. Ugh. I do not do Chaos well at all, especially not on a Monday. I am feeling off-kilter and cranky. And I don't like that. Maybe it is a blessing in disguise to give me some time to regroup. My brain has been a wreck this past week. Its like I have jello jigglers ping-pinging their way through grey matter. How's that for description?

In fact, I don't know if I even told Scott we have a delay. I know I told Cait..... he's gonna get mad at me if he got out of bed when he didn't have too. LOL

Nancy- tee-hee-- you can have all of the snow you want. I want to wear an inflatable heated suit like a bio-dome that stays sunny and warm all year round. And since humidity doesn't bother me, Phyllis can come and visit

Happy Birthday Phyllis!!!!!!!!! I know, you said no singing but reaching 63 is an accomplishment. Not everyone gets to do it. Very glad that you did!

I know! Yay! But then I will be biting my nails from the minute he leaves my house until he gets to hers. I think I am going to be One of Those Moms who makes the kid call/text when they arrive safely. What am I saying? Of course I will. I still have to do that with *my* mom. :rofl:

Must go check and see what the cats are doing. I think they are playing Hide and Seek and Pounce behind the door but they are making a racket!

Morning O fam- workout is done and I was able to keep my heart rate up higher- I may not be losing pounds but I am definitely getting more fit. Speaking of sheep- check out sally the sheep! I giggle every time I see her! Okay off to get ready for work!

Chris, thanks for the BD greeting. at least we missed having an ice storm, which is the USUAL s#%* happening at the beginning of February here! at least i'll be able to get out of the house for a bit and waste some time. re: kids driving. i made mine call me when they arrived and call me again when they were leaving wherever they went to. i felt like i deserved NOT to be a total basket case when they were out! it worked out well. honestly, it always made me think: how did parents survive their kids learning to drive before cell phones?? :fear:

today i'm gonna bake some GF low-carb muffins so that i have something to stick a candle in at dinner tonight as my husband tunelessly sings "Happy Birthday to You." oh, and i'm also going to wait and see whether either one of my children wishes me a Happy Birthday....all the while trying to forget how freakin' OLD i am!!! :hurt:

Good morning girlios!!! It's raining here...no ice...I think I heard a little sleet hitting the windows about 9 last night...but that stopped quickly..and the kids are at school on time today....:rockon:

Chris.....add some vodka to those jigglers in your brain...you will be just fine :becky: and yes you will be one of those Moms who makes their kid call or text when they arrive....I still make mine call :rofl: not really, but Sharon calls me on her way to work...talks to me the whole way....calls me when she goes to lunch....calls me when she leaves work.....you get the idea :mrgreen: Once you have trained them, they will do it forever ound:

Phylis....You I think so much alike!! I wasn't going to be a total basket case NOT KNOWING either!!! It was not an option for them....do it, or don't drive the next time. And as for before cell phones...well....I remember my Mom sitting on the sofa in the dark when I came home....yeah....they turned gray a lot sooner than we did ound: and a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE HAPPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!

Good morning O family! Can't believe it is already Monday. The weekends just go by way too fast! I live for the weekends! Nothing like wishing your life away.

Happy Birthday Phyllis! I'm with Nana--don't have hubby sing! Make it a great day and do something fun and exciting for yourself.

Chris--I made mine call me when they left and when they arrived. Call me over protective--at least it kept me from worrying too much.

Laurie-send me some motivation to work out.

Nana--we need some of that rain. Send it here!

Not much going on today. Have to work---hate that 4 letter word! Also need to arrange insurance for the kid and go to the bank and get his loan. Other than that--it's the same old thing here.

Good morning. It is raining on top of all our snow not making for a nice day at all. No plans for today except must do laundry LOL.

Chris and Linda I cant believe how badly the weather is reeking havoc on your kids' school days and on your lives.

Phylis and Linda I too had the same rules for driving. Still do. This is so funny my son's wife before they were married thought that I was an over bearing mother because when my son drove to Canada with her (in the car I was still paying off) I told him to call when he got there.

Morning sweet ladies!! Day off for all of us here in B.C. :canada: family day and not much to do except a bit of housework. Had a nice day at SIL's except it was probably the most depressing dinner party I have ever been at!! She invited a couple of neighbours for dinner and one of them had lost her husband to cancer also. Well after a few glasses of wine the tears started and oh my it was just so awkward and sad!! The two of them just fed off of each other and ohhhhh the :drama: !! No matter how much the rest of us tried to change the subject and the mood, they just kept the pity party alive!! I hate to sound mean, but really???? MG said the other day on the phone with his sister, she never once mentioned her late husband, but when she is around others she falls apart and never stops talking about him, every time she sees a hummingbird at the feeder she says, oh look its Big Mike coming to visit us. Is that healthy??? Really??? Its a bird Linda!! Almost a year has passed and she still cries like a baby at the mention of his name. (but only when there is an audience). Really we had a great time until the other dinner guests arrived. I don't know maybe I need to be a bit more understanding?? Yikes I will shut up now that I have written a novel :becky:

Terry....we didn't get too much rain...good thing ...the ground is very saturated...it squishes when you walk across the yard!! and YES the weekends do fly by!!!!!!!!! Hope your insurance and banking went well today....not really fun stuff!!

Nancy....LOL at the son's wife!!! Funny how they all come around to understand so easily one day!!! Well...I think they are letting our kids out for the snow flurries we get because we have not used up the snow days the last couple of years...it something about throwing off the schedule...because they haven't we are not starting until AFTER labor day this year....that hasn't happened since my kids were little! Hope you got your laundry done!!!

I really can see your aggrevation with her pouring it on in front of other people...but maybe that's what brings it out in her...or she just likes attention...who knows...BUT....the bird thing is a bit over the top for me!!!
