GooooOd morning, O-zies! Don't worry, I double checked the date for today and it is correct. However, I wasn't so good IRL. I was waiting for Caitlyn to come down for coffee at 5.30 and when she didn't I went up to wake her. There two weeks left in the semester and I *still* don't have her schedule right. She doesn't have classes on Mondays. Sheesh!

I had a busy, productive, and fun day yesterday.
I finished the mason jar centerpieces and I am pretty darn pleased with them. I took some pics, but the lighting it pretty terrible. I will post them anyway later on. I had to choose either an utter mess in the background or a window. I chose the window so the lighting and exposure are crap.

In the afternoon, we went out for a tree. Scott wasn't sure what his free time was going to be like so I was thrilled that he was able to come with us and to decorate it. It is a much smaller tree than we usually get. Every year, Gary seems to get more anti-real/pro-fake tree so the fact that it smells amazing and is real makes me happy. We got it at the nursery where Scott worked and they still gave us his employee discount. That meant we have money leftover for pizza. We ate pizza and watched A Charlie Brown Christmas. For some reason, this year it shocked all of us how utterly horrible the kids are in it. We all know that they are mean to CB, but wow. Really mean to him, to each other. He is passive-aggressive. Aside from Linus' soliloquy, it's non-stop bullying.
At any rate, it is still fun to watch. My only hope is that we still get to see A Christmas Story. That is my favorite.

Today is going to be jam-packed. I am heading out this morning to the ankle surgeon. Popping in to say hi to my parents who live 5 mins away. Then I am going over to the shopping complex that is on my way way home. I have to get some things for my family, for the baskets and I need to pick out something for Leah from my mom. Then back home to prep for food shopping tomorrow.

Still haven't found time to scrap.:(

Kay- how is your foot feeling today, any less painful after the poking and prodding? I am glad that are able to stay home and relax with your feet up.
Any updates with your computer?

I am happy that I have only been married once - I cannot imagine having to dig up all of that paperwork on name changes. I will have to tell Cait too. When she gets married she is planning on keeping her name. She will be happy that will mean one less thing to stress about whenever NJ gets its act together on the Real IDs. There are only a few DMVs that provide them even though they are supposed to be required by 2020. Nancy might know more about the details than me but I saw in my local paper that no one seems to know what they are doing. (Typical for NJDMV)

Nancy- I don't even want to ask what the Devils record is. :( Yikes.
We don't have Disney Plus but I have been hearing a lot of good things about the Mandalorian and Baby Yoda.
How is Luther taking his meds?

jean- gad you are able to stay for while here! We have missed you. The pot luck sounds interesting and fun and the diary must be fascinating. Even better that you have a volunteer to help you.
You are more than welcome to come to my dinner party :) My goodness, I wish that I could have those guests IRL, can you imagine??

Evelyn-:welcome: We are thrilled to have you join us here! Please ask any of us if you need help finding anything. Enjoy the party!

Felis- I am soooooooooooo jealous of you!! Warm weather!! The days are so short and even when the sun is out it is so weak. Two more weeks until the days get longer again.
Congrats on getting so much done and being in a good holiday mood.
The book I am reading, the main character reminds me of me, with her kookiness and now she reminds me of you too, the way she connects with wildlife. It is fun to read.
I haven't read anything about ASMR, will have to check it out.
An old friend of mine was a hypnotherapist and I was her practice person. It was so helpful when I was in labor with Scott. She had done a pain management technique with me and wow it helped.
This year I am having such a hard time with gift ideas for myself - one reason is that I am trying to reduce my footprint. The chairs are a perfect gift in that way.

BTW-- today is the adoptaversary of the Shakes rats! Cait brought then home one year ago. That went fast. She had them out on the floor yesterday and and they were zooming around and climbing on us. Dill climbed under a Santa hat and peeked out from it. We could not stop laughing! I wish I could have gotten a picture. They make me so happy :)

Wishing everyone a stress-free day!

Morning, all. Woke up at 4:30 but went back to sleep until 6 AM. Had to take a pain pill to sleep last night as the foot was hurting alot. Guess I am going to have to keep on a schedule with them until it improves. It wasn't hurting until I got up and fixed my coffee... now it is aching again. Means I really need to stay off of it as much as I can. Yesterday I decided to not go to the Red Hat chapter lunch on Tuesday... so talked to the Vice-Queen. She will is a co-hostess so will be in charge instead.

Sil came over and got my computer yesterday. He ended up not having to work on grandson's car after all. DD#1 came with him so we had some visiting time. While they were here, I was talking about the disposal...SiL asked how long it had been down. When I told him 2 months... he said that was too long and volunteered to get one and install it for me next weekend. For now I am on the laptop. No scrapping as no software and files. Hoping that SiL gets them back to me soon. At least I can be on-line and check how things are going. You would have LOL if you had seen me hobbling around to get the Laptop plugged in to an outlet behind me, then pillows arranged under my leg once I was seated in the recliner, and pulled a small table next to me for the mouse. I don't do well with the touch-pad so need the mouse.

Felis, I have a separate camera for the computer but not sure the software for it is. And I don't really have anyone I need to do face time with.

Evelyn, welcome to Oscraps and glad you popped in to chat with us. Do join us when you can... the more the merrier.

Chris, so glad you got the Mason jar centerpieces finished. You have been one busy bee... but you always are. Nice you had some play time with the rats. Hard to believe it has been a year since the adoption.

Off to check a few other spots before I take my shower. Waiting for the house to warm up... oh.shoot... I forgot to reset the heater temp! It is going to be a looonnng day.

Good morning everyone! Dark and gloomy morning out there today. I don't think I even turned my computer on yesterday  I had the strangest dream (night terror) on Sunday morning!! I swore I was wide awake and DH was lying beside in bed, he whispered that he loved me in my ear and when I turned to say it back to him, it wasn't him lying there it was a dark shadowy figure! I could not see the face. Well I tried to scream for DH and I tried and I tried, but not a sound would come out of my mouth. It was horrible and so very, very real!! I swore to God I was wide awake!! Of course I wasn't and after a bit my heart stopped racing and I went back into a deep sleep and slept in until 8am. But man my whole day I felt discombobulated!! Anyway we had a nice visit with our oldest brother, we took him lots of goodies and baking and he was very happy to see us girls! We did not stay too long as he tires very quickly, he is very thin and does not get out too much anymore. He won't visit with anyone or accept invitations to go for dinner, he just does not feel comfortable doing that. Yes his house smelled like the medicine for his poor Mangey dog. He loves that dog so much, but the poor thing is suffering terribly, he really should think about letting her go!! He kept telling us that he is waiting for his pets to pass on and then he will go into a home, but I think that his two cats and that dog will out live him. Anyway the rest of the day was spent getting the Christmas tree up and putting out a few other things. Lots more decorating to do, but that can be done a little bit at a time. So no housework was done yesterday, that will get done this morning. Then my last calendar page just needs the birthdays added and then sent to printers so I can get these out in the mail!! Hooray!!!

Chris - I adore your mason jar centre pieces!! They turned out great! It sounds like you had a great time doing them too, so that is a big bonus!! A great time together getting your tree up and decorated and having pizza while watching a movie, the perfect way to spend the day! Another busy day for you today, say hi to your parents from all of us and good luck with the ankle surgeon and your shopping trip! Happy Adoptaversary to the rats!! Wow a year has passed already?? Enjoy your day!

Kay - Your poor foot!! It must be so frustrating! Glad that you at least have the laptop to pop in here and check in on us! Hopefully you are back to scrapping with your PC soon! How nice to know that you will be getting a new disposal too! You are so lucky to have such a supportive family!

Nancy - Uggh your poor Devils are not having much of a hockey season this year!! I hope that things can get turned around for them soon! I would love to get the new Disney streaming channel, but when would I find time to watch all those shows?? :noidea: LOL. Hope that sweet Luther is feeling better now!

Jean - A great day spent with yummy pot luck and visiting with friends! Hope you enjoyed your football yesterday also! Yes I am getting things under control finally and will very enjoy getting more into the spirit of the holiday these next two weeks! Of course we will miss having everyone here, but we are happy that they are together and doing there own thing too!

Felis - Wow your weather is crazy!! So nice to be able to open the windows while you are cleaning!! How nice that you got enough free time to watch a Christmas movie also!! Hope you are able to get some more time to scrap today!! Enjoy your warmer temps!!

Evelyn - :welcome: so nice to see you here, hope you continue to join us here in the dailyO's!!

Ok I am off to clean bathrooms, then vacuum etc. etc. :blah: :blah: Have a great day everyone!

Good morning ladies. Busy day (Monday is always super busy with work for me), so just popping in for a minute to say hi. I didn't get any scrapping done yesterday. Jen and Bailey ended up staying all afternoon and we had such a great time decorating. B loved being here (the first time in over 2 yrs b/c of the hospitalization) and she was happy. I organized the tree decorating so that it was very easy for B to do it. We all laughed and took tons of pics, it was such a great day. We even got to take Taz out for a walk along the river before J had to take her back to the care home.

Chris - your mason jars look great!

Trudy - you tree looks so pretty!

Kay - hope you can stay off the foot today.

I'm getting to work now. I hope to get a challenge page done later since I didn't get anything done over the wkend but I'll have to see how my work day goes.

Have a great day, everyone!

good morning - It is a rain day today and tomorrow which I don't like. I understand that people don't like snow when commuting to work but this rain and no sun is the pits to me. Not much on my agenda for today. Luther is getting better. His cough syrup has codeine so he takes it and then seems to sleep. I do think he needs sleep so this is good. I will work on my Dec. project.

Chris so glad that things are going so well. The ankle surgeon I am sure will only have good things to report! That is funny about Cait and her schedule. My DH is on his last week of classes then just finals and the semester will be done. Amazing how fast it goes. Cant wait to see your mason jars and other crafts.

Kay so sorry about the foot and the pain. So sorry you cant make your luncheon. Keep the foot elevated as they say! Glad to hear your SiL has the computer. It will be so fun to have the computer back the way you want it. I have to agree with Chris about the DMV and requiring all those documents. I do hope that NJ gets it act in gear!

Jean the diary sounds so interesting. My Mom gave me letters from her family from the Civil War. They are such treasures.

Felis the Dec. project I am working on is about my love of birds and my love of photographing them. It is from Anna Aspnes - she each Dec has a class where she sends out prompts. I am this using the prompts to talk about something that has made my love for birds expand. Thanks for the nice compliments.

Evelyn welcome to the thread. We just enjoy sharing with each other.

Rae and Trudy waving hi and hope you had a great weekend.

Have a great day!

hello lOvelies,
Jean's question made big impression on me, so this afternoon I texted to my mom that I'll cook today. Yesterday was my dad, so she had two free days in roll. Cooking is just a task that gives you chance to show care, I'm not good in it, but don't mind it. My pasta turned excellent, as I had the recipe directly from my sis (actually the secret is jar of her special tomato sauce). So it's literally takes me 5 minute to put everything at the Multicooker, fast than to order and with proven quality of the used products. Then mom came home and bringing new batteries, as I was mistaken and mine multi charger pack don't fit the size of our christmas decoration. They wasn't enthusiastic to decorating, but now we was able to turn on the only lights I'm put till now and it was pretty and sentimental.
I don't get it?! Why people brings themselves anxiety in one such a bright holiday which have to be focused mainly and primarily to Mary and her baby! When the consumer society stole this from us? Kay correct me if I'm wrong, but vanity actually is one of the seven deadly sins?! So when the presents, decorations, parties and ect., become more important than peaceful and quiet, comfort and joy? We shouldn't argue for them! So if my parents don't feel festive I'll let them to (not) do whatever they want!

Nancy, oh, these prompts sounds very creativity inspiring and your project is turns wonderful, bravo! So you have family letters from the Civil War, this is so cool!

Rae ,my heart sing when you describe your happy holiday family scene! ::grouphug

Trudy, what an awful nightmare it's not surprising that disturbed you so much! How nice that you was able to visiting your brother! You know my opinion: to extend the life on animal which is in pain, just because you love it, is egoistic. But I can totally understand him at this case, as he probably is motivated by the fear that if he don't continue to fight for his dog, others could give up for him so easily too.

Kay, smart decision to canceled the Red Hat chapter lunch, your health must be on first place! So annoying that you're not able to scrap during your tries to relax! I hope that you really will give chance on the relaxing part, after all! ITA laptops' touch-pad is the most stupid and unuseful thing!

Chris, I'm so happy that you was able to force yourself and hope you was able to make the tree choice festive for your family! We are with plastic one from many years, as our cat then at some strange reason ate the needles which is very dangerous, and unusual by the way. They said that you have to to reutilise it for at least 12 years, so to be sustainable compare to it Carbon footprint, but we are use it almost double on that so I'm not guilty! And I can't say that the daily sweeping of needles miss me. But I seriously considering to bought two wild Firs and plant it at my yard. You are so lucky to live near to the woods!
Oh, your jars are so beautiful! Excellent work, bravo!
You know me, I'm asked for Christmas for cat traveling bag, as the cage is too heavy, and bag will be more useful for annual checks and traveling of healthy cats. We also asked my aunt gifts we will exchange, to be small and only from fruits and cookies as the tradition was in centuries. We're really into minimalism style of living this year.
Oh this book character reminds me for myself too, I thought that is why you give me link. In a remote village my dream, but I checked and for single woman it's way too dangerous at my country, devotes the dark winter days to translating the poetry before to find scraping I had blog where I was tried to translate Vera Brittain and Maya Angelou's poetry . Her reputation as a crank and a recluse is amplified by her not-so-secret preference for the company of animals over humans. on a 100%. I'm so disappointed that exactly this title is not translated here, and hope to be! Will keep my eyes on this publisher house.
The hypnotherapist freaks me out! I already had lots of trouble with my OCD! It's enough that I had terrible episodes when my own thoughts aren't actually mine, but dictated of irrational fear, so to allow someone else to put thoughts in this wayward brain sounds me way too dangerous!
Adoptaversary such a sweet word, we call it Day of coming! Happy adoptaversary to the rats! I also wish you was able to have gotten this picture, sounds so cute and festive!

OMG, the note for you isn't a note but whole novel, excuse me everybody! At least others can skip this, and Chris to thinks when gives me hooks  .

OK, good night dears, and sleep well!
