Happy Monday!! Who needs :cof2:???
I do!!!!!!

I survived Dec Weekend #1. There are only TWO more to go before Christmas. :gaah: That is terrifying! But my house looks a little more like Christmas, in spite of boxes thrown all over. We got a really nice tree and that is all done, and I did a bit of decorating with the "tabletop" stuff. We watched A Christmas Story together which makes the season official.

Today I have to get down to the nitty-gritty of it all. Get all of the boxes upstairs, dig out the cookie recipes that we are going to bake, get my gift list together. I forgot that I ordered a t shirt for Scott last week, and then I ordered another a few days later. Different ones, thank goodness!!!!

Another bit of good news re: Lyme and Christmas-- when the family opens their gifts from me, it is like I get a gift myself because I have *no* idea of what is in that box.

Scott and I are going up to the little town of Warwaick, NY when he is done with classes today. Leah is getting her ears pierced and he wants to get her earrings to match the necklace he bought up there for her last year. I think I bragged on what a good find it was, a sustainably collected butterfly wing from the Rainforest. I am really looking fwd to spending time with him, just the two of us. Cait and are are able to do that more often, but not Scott and I, not as much as I would like. The town has some really neat, unique shops and it is fun to poke around. There is an upscale pet shop and I am hoping that maybe I can find an ornament for Jaida since I had no luck over the weekend.

So that is that. Busy busy busy!!! (and tired tired tired LOL)

Oh, and I forgot to say this yesterday to anyone who celebrates:
Happy Hanukkah!!!

::grouphug

Nancy- Luther sounds like he is really adapting well! Gary gets aggravated when Jaida barks at all of the other dogs on the street, esp b/c Ray never, ever does. But it is what dogs do, how they communicate. And puppies like to play. I would LOVE to get my girls to the dog park today, it is supposed to be really nice!
Yeah, I am with your GF on the craft fairs. I had done a few that were handmade only, application process required a photo of your products and those were amazing.

Rae!!! Too funny about time mgt and Fargo! I would try to scrap with my headphones one, listening to audiobooks and it never worked for me either.
ITA with the socialization, I think that was one of the good parts of Puppy School, esp when the trainer pointed out who the dogs were interacting with each other. I would have never recognized that she was a very submissive dog when she was outside of her comfort zone. The dog park here is a mile from my house and yes, some of the dog owners can be so oblivious to how their dogs are "playing." I try to go when it is not as crowded, even if it just my 2, they can run around like crazy since we don't have a fenced yard.
Hope you enjoyed the movie and got the tree out of its box ;)

Ohhhhh, Trudy, you *didn't!!!* Don't you hate when you open your mouth and things pop out, like asking about the tree, that you know should not have been said. I know I do that! :tape:
Double OMG! What kind of test did she have and when will you know the results? What kind of cancer mimics arthritis, bone caner?? Good healthy vibes to her.
I would need a good drink after all of that too. I am soooo happy to hear that You and Your Gary were able to talk.

Cait wants to drive to school again, so there goes another half hour or so of my morning. But her test is in 2 weeks, :faint2: so she really wants to keep practicing.
Have a fab day to all of you!!!!!

Chris, sorry to hear the fair was a bit of a bust - but like you said, silver lining - you've got a bunch of gifts all ready to go now. Good luck to Cait with her test - she'll probably have it while I'm away, so keeping my fingers crossed for her.

Yup, away. Wow. Packed almost everything yesterday for my trip Down Under. Going to be a short visit, so with the jetlag, I can't make any promises that my posts, particularly when I get back, will make any sense. ;) I suspect today will be a long day at the office while I try to wrap up as much as possible. I'll still be working during the trip, to help preserve some vacation time, but don't want to spend the ENTIRE time working! LOL I'll be headed to the summer months ... aaahhhh ... 80-90 degrees. Of course, there will be weather shock when I get back!! (hopefully no snow on the ground - I mean, give me a day or two to adjust, that would be nice).

Walked about 6,000 steps yesterday, so building on Saturday's effort and so far so good with the knee. A little aggravated, but not too much - enough that I can live with it. I sit on my butt at lot at work, at my desk, so it will be a concerted effort to keep moving - maybe I'll just do laps around the office (oh, yeah, that won't be weird at all  )

Rae, I'm glad you found a good doggy daycare for Taz. Haddie doesn't do well around any dogs and tries to fight with them - hair up on her back and neck, too, for some - we'd love to take her to the dog park (hey, she's a beagle/basset mix ... oh, the smells!!!), but it's just not possible :(

Nancy, yes, yay for MSU!! And ranked 3rd, now, I believe - that's a playoff game with *gulp* Alabama. That will be interesting. Good thing they boys have about a month off, though, 'cause the quarterback has an injured shoulder, so the more rest he gets, the better.

Good morning - well yesterday was one awesome day. My DH found the survey of our house so he can fax that to the fencing people so we can get the fence in, then DH and Luther were out clearing some junk and dirt away for the fence and Luther loved the digging in the dirt. Boy were his paws dirty. My DIL and I went to a wine and painting party at the Rock prior to the Devils game. Turns out they give you a canvas with the outline of the Devils logo and I had to do was follow their directions and OMgosh it turned out so cool! They gave us techniques to make the background look like ice, then how to paint the logo and then out line the logo and finally make it look like skate marks. Well I brought it home and my son could not believe how good it looked. He was really impressed and we were with 4 other ladies who are Devils season ticket holders. Then the Devils won the game 4-2. They looked really good. This morning Luther is one tired puppy!

Chris how fun shopping and spending time with Scott. It is fun to have alone time with each kid.

Kat have a great time with your mom and don't work too hard. And yes I saw that MSU is playing Alabama on New Year's Eve. And I will enjoy your jet lagged posts.

Rae I will look into a doggie day care. One of my son's friend and his dog came over and they started to get to know each other. There was a lot of sniffy and barking.

Trudy that is so scary for your SIL. I hope the test comes out negative. Glad that you got so much done for her even as time consuming as it is.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... a busy day ahead for me! I am putting up our tree and starting to really panic about getting the calendars done in time :gaah: But I do this every year and it usually is ok and I get done on time. But then I still need to get one more present for Sadie too!!!
over-react-smiley.gif
and it has to be shipped to Alberta!! So today I will be hunting for that gift, doing calendars and putting up the tree, along with the :washing: and
cleaning-smiley.gif
Sure hope I can get most of this done!

Chris - Wish I could come shopping to that cute little town with you and Scott!! Perhaps you could help me find something cute for Sadie?? LOL A bit far for me to travel for a gift!! Not sure what kind of tests SIL has had or will be having?? Her regular doctor is totally stumped as to what this could be, her blood work keeps coming back with these weird results, but she does not go into it too much, she doesn't want to tell anyone anything, until she knows for sure what it is! She is finally starting to move on with her life and now this!! :mmph:

Kat - I do not envy you the travel jet lag !! It will be so weird to have to come back to winter, when it is so warm in Auzzieland!! My brother and SIL are there now and they find it a bit too warm, but are there for the birth of the new Grandchild staying in Sydney and then they go to Lennoxhead to visit with their daughter and son-in-law and their two children. My grands are far away, but not that far, I feel badly that they have to travel so far to visit. But I would love to see Australia!! Hope you get everything caught up at work and that it will be a good trip for you!

Nancy - We want to see pics of your painting!! I bet you did an awesome job!! It sounds like it was a fun day for you and your DIL!! Then to have the Devils win would have been the icing on the cake!!

Ok I better get some breakfast and get busy!! Hope that you all have a great Monday!!

Good morning, ladies. The weekend flew by and I didn't get done half the things I wanted to. Today is work, organizing and errands. I've got a busy day ahead of me. I'm feeling really sluggish and bloated but...that is totally my fault b/c no one forced me to eat my big bag of popcorn at the movies and then come home and eat another half bag after dinner (my hubs brought his home). I think today will be protein and veggies, no starches. When I eat high carb I always feel crappy the next day.

Chris - have fun shopping. Sounds fun.
Kat - don't forget your sunblock. A little warm weather right now sounds good to me.
Trudy - hope your SIL gets good news. How scary to wait for those results.
Nancy - yes, show a pic pls....I want to see!

Good evening ladies, hope you ha v e . A great day shopping with Scott Chris and you have a good flight to Australia Kat, good wishes to you and your family as your Mum gets ready for her op and hope all goes well. Good thoughts too for Trudy, sil, that must be so scary ,thinking of her and your family as she awaits the results.
