Hey there, O-zies!
How was your weekend? Everyone rested up and ready to meet the new week? I am (believe it or not, it is true!)
Maybe not 100% rested, but my soul is happy. The party yesterday afternoon puts everything into perspective. Family is really the most important thing and I am beyond blessed. I kept looking around the dinner table seeing my kids, my parents, my ILs, my future ILs (Leah and Tom). Such an incredible feeling. Sam and Ian came too and it was good to see them. I invited Sam to our Christmas and told her it would be the same deal as the September party- we could all pretend that it is just "a day" if that helps. I know the holidays are going to be excruciating for her and Ian. (Her b-day is the 26th and she shares it with her brother who died in Sept).

Arlene and I are always so happy having the families together. The day was perfect. <3

Wish I knew what I was going to do today. I have to finish my food shopping order. That means dinner ideas....Blergh!!!!!!!!! My ILs got Gary and me a new pantry cabinet for Christmas and he brought it up here last night. Gary put it together which means I am going to have to unpack the old cabinet so he can move the new one into position. I also forget that I still have to make the coffee butter. I mean I *know* it is still there, I shake the oil around every day. But I still need to strain out the grinds and turn the oil into butter.
Always busy, never completing LOL

There is a new scrap challenge posted, I hope I have some time to work on that too

xoxoxo

@tanteva are you good with working on a deadline? I am not, it makes me too anxious (surprise!) but my BFF, she does her best work like that. How awesome is that newsletter??
Did you tag Vicki R so she got to see it? She is going to be thrilled with how it came out. Gary and Scott could eat nuggets nonstop too. I use Gardein brand "beef." Do you have that brand in Sweden? I used to make the filling from scratch with tofu but that was a PITA and ended up wasting so much of the tofu. This way I can scoop out however many crumbles from the bag she wants and pop it back into the freezer.

@bcgal00 It must have felt wonderful walking around with J and then doing some gambling - and winning! Sounds like a blast taking turns with the games together.
Did you get a lot of photos of the display?

@Cherylndesigns I ADORE the wreaths!!! beautiful work!! I hope that Adrienne finds your boots but it can't hurt to have a backup pair. what color did you pick for your mani/pedi? Bet your feet are happy!

@BrightEyes I wish that computers/printers all were the same color. I hate that my two monitors are slightly off. Even when I calibrate everything, it is *just* enough to bug me.
It's silly about the chopping but it is bringing everything back and forth from the table and then washing all of the dishes and serving pieces- add in keeping everything meat separated from cait's food. It isn't horrible, just not that the Lazy Housewives want to deal with hahaha!!
Eva-- yes!! It's boring!!

@felis I love seeing how people upcycle things- hope you feel better by now.

@LSlycord how fun to have your friend come down to visit!
GMTA-- you and Brian. That is a great idea to get a gas fire pit, does he have one picked out already?
Whew. I always worry that I am too pushy with people, giving advice that might be unwanted. My kids are so adamant that schools push 4-year colleges so strongly and that 2 yr or tech schools aren't "good enough." As an academic advisor, Caitlyn gets frustrated that she isn't allowed to tell her advisees to try a community college if they are struggling (obviously, the college doesn't want that!! LOL). This year she is working with Undeclared Majors and some of these poor kids truly don't know what they want to do. She has to bite her tongue to not tell them to go to CC for fraction of the cost, get the Gen Eds out of the way and use that time to figure out what they want to do next. That is exactly what she would have told Shaun to do too :D
If you ever want to run something past me or her, just ask.
If you ever want me to shut up and mind my own business, tell me that too. I am equal opportunity haha

Have fun!!

Good morning ladies. I have been sitting here drinking coffee and making my "to do" lists. First thing on today's list is to get the work computer shipped back! Got to get to the Fed Ex office to get that done. Beautiful sunny day...supposed to hit a high of 78 today. Still a little chilly so the fire is going in the fire pit. Watching the squirrels playing in the trees.

I will be back later for personals. Going to spend a few more minutes in the gallery before I head out.

I have a working washing machine! I am washing clothes! Now we don't have to be so ... inventive ... when trying to have clothes to work. LOL Well, I have to be without a washing machine longer than this for ME to run out of clothes ... but Urban have been struggling the last few days. I have waaaay too much clothes. Came to work last week (Urban started earlier than me and took the car, and I got the bus) ... and when he saw me he said: "What are you wearing? I've never seen that jumper." Just something I found, tag still attached, in my closet. LOL

Well, I sort of need dead lines to get stuff done. LOL At least stuff that don't fall under the category FUN. Pen palling is fun, but it's a bit of "hard" work, so I tend to postpone and postpone. I have 4 letters that must be in the mail on Friday, in order to get to the recipients in time for Christmas. And I work Thursday, so I really should fix them. I will use the same newsletter, but want to add a little personal note & a Christmas card as well. Plus fixing the envelopes. Guess about a total of 3 hours to fix them all? Not oday - but tomorrow ... I promise ... (probably be sitting there Thursday evening after work LOL)

Gardein was available in Sweden a couple of years ago, but only in the big cities, I never got to try them. Living in "the boondocks", most stuff isn't available to me. Even though it's much better now than it was when we became vegetarians.

Isn't this 12 days of Christmas FUN!? Really enjoy all the creativity shown in the gallery!

Oh ... I just stepped out of my comfort zone! I downloaded my first ever kit from Foxeysquirrel. I have absolutely no idea if I can scrap that style.

Morning everyone, we have a fresh blanket of snow on the ground, it so weird to have this much snow before Christmas! This hardly ever happens. Guess it goes to show you that we are really going through climate change! DH took my CRV to work, his truck does not have 4 wheel drive and even though he did get his snow tires on his truck, it still would not make it up our very steep hill. I am not going anywhere anyway and now I don't have to worry about him coming home for lunch either. The whole day is mine to do what I want LOL. Yesterday was a write off as we got all of the Christmas decorations out of the crawl space, my Gary did the front porch decorations and I will slowly work on getting the inside of the house done. Christmas tree should be easy peasy as it has all the lights on it already and only takes 1 minute to put together. I am so spoiled and lazy LOL. I hope to spend the morning in the gallery and then get started on the challenges. I am so far behind!

@faerywings - So nice to hear that you have a more positive outlook on your day today! Yes family is truly everything and you are very blessed to have your's so close to you! I bet it was a great time being all together like that! Loud, but great LOL. Hope you like your new pantry! What a great gift, except that now you have to empty the old one of course. Hope you get your coffee butter all whipped up today and that you don't waste too much time on the grocery order. Enjoy the Christmas celebrations here!

@LSlycord - Linda you are sending back your work computer, that must mean you are officially done??? I have been absent from here so must have missed some info about you somewhere along the way. Sounds like you are having a lovely morning, sipping coffee and watching nature at play!

@tanteva - Happy to hear that you have a working washing machine again! I hate it when my appliances don't work and I would be lost without my washer and dryer! I don't really own a lot of clothes and actually my DH has more than I do, although most of his shirts and dress pants just hang there as he doesn't have to dress to up for his job now. He owns more shoes than me too LOL.

@bcgal00 - Aww that is too bad that you could not take B with you, but sounds like it was the right thing to do! How lucky are you!!! I have never won a thing at any Casino and feel like a fish out of water in one LOL. Not the best gambler for sure! How wonderful for you to win like that!

@Cherylndesigns - Love your Christmas decor and hope that your boots show up!! Always nice to have a second pair though.

@BrightEyes - Kay you have been very busy with the Christmas Celebrations here! I really need to step up my game! Love your AVI you look amazing!!

@felis - I will have to get on Instagram and take a look at your garden idea! Sorry you have not been feeling well and hope that you are on the fast track to recovery! Take care of you sweetie!! ((hugs))!!

Ok off to get my day started, but perhaps a second cup of coffee is in order first and I will get some gallery commenting done with my coffee! Have a great day everyone!

Good morning ladies. As Trudy said, we got a blanket of snow this morning. Remi was unsure of it at first and then ran through it, chasing the ball which had snow sticking to it so she was fascinated with that (and she is already ball obsessed so this took it to another level LOL). Glad we got out there before 8 am and now by almost 10 the wet snow is starting to melt. Trudy, on the island, is going to get more snow than us today.

@faerywings Glad the party was fun yesterday. I took some iphone pics of the Xmas displays and will enjoy scrapping them.
@tanteva We get Gardein here and my faves are the chicken strips, meatballs and sausage patties but I have tried them all and they are all good.

Darrell and Jen got the Xmas bins out, put the tree up and so far Remi has sniffed and poked it a bit but not really bothered with it. The real test will be next wkend when we put decorations on it. I pulled up all the lower branches, securing them higher up so Remi can go under it and not bang against the tree very much. With the decorations, we'll not put any close to the bottom that could catch her eye and entice her to go after the tree. She loves to chew, especially branches and little items, so we're really going to have to watch her but I think she'll be ok.

Today I need to meal plan and maybe get out for a walk later. I'll be sorting thru Xmas bins off and on throughout the week. I want to put together a box for charity of decorations we don't use anymore and figure out which unbreakables we can use this year in case Remi does pull on the tree and knock things off.

I'd better get to work for a bit. I'm grabbing another coffee and getting started at my desk work.

Good afternoon all!

My new boots are on the property! I got a notice that they were delivered. Now, we just have to drive down to the brick house and pick them up or Tom (Roger's handyman) might have them in his truck. He usually brings everybody's deliveries up to us. Sometimes, they say the merch was delivered, but it really isn't on the property yet. We haven't figured that out yet. I ordered brown, waterproof boots that zip up the side, so they'll hopefully be easy to pull on. My old ones were SO easy to get on. Adrienne said she'd look around and TRY to find my old ones.

Chris @faerywings I'm so glad that you like my wreaths. I got my bow made last night - finally. The first one I made was WAY too big, so I tore it apart and made a smaller one. Good thing the ribbon is stiff and wired. I know you'll love that I tore something else apart. BWAHAHA

I got my normal color on my toes and nails this time. I took my own - Esse Ballet Slippers - very light pinkish white. It's REALLY hard to put on - you should see when I try to do it myself. I have it all over my toes and don't do much better with my fingers. It's a beautiful color, though. Adrienne loves it too and she had it put on her toes. Before I went to white-white, I used Ballet Slippers for years. I don't do white-white anymore, but might go back to it next summer. In FL, we lived in flip flops. We wear them here if at all possible.

I'm going to go look at the challenge for today. Chris @faerywings I'm so happy that your family party went so well. It warmed my heart to read about it. Hugs

Waving to all.

@faerywings They just said on the news that it's been a record last night. Somewhere up north in Sweden it's never been this cold in December. -28.84°F

Still wanna move to Sweden? LOL

I was a slug.... slept in until 7:45AM. But I was up until 11PM watching DVDs so that might have something to do with the later wakeup. I watch 'Pearl Harbor" moive DVD then realized this morning that tomorrow - Dec 7th - is the anniversary of that. Watched the Making of the Movie and was astounded by what all it took! I am really enjoying most of the Special on the DVDs to get a look behind the scenes of how a movie came to be.

Doing a happy dance as I got the Scavenger Hunt done... found the last 2 that eluded me until this morning. And got signed up for the Chain Scraplift Challenge... and got the LO picked out to lift.... and the kit I want to use for it. Whoo-whee... moving right along and having loads of fun. Hope you are doing the same.

@tanteva I am celebrating with you. So glad your finally have a washing machine that works!!! :D It was a toss up between DH and I as to who had the most clothes...

WOW... that is too cold for me! I was going to say that the cold front moved in last night and we will be lucky to get to 53*F today. That must sound balmy to you.

@Cherylndesigns Glad your boots are on the property... and that you find where they are. They sound nice and warm - and easy to get on. Thank goodness for wire ribbon when making bows. I learned make the two first loops then lay it against the wreath or where it is to go to make sure it is the right size; then make the rest of the loops. Take a photo so we can see the finished bow/wreath.

@faerywings So glad it was an enjoyable get-together. You needed a relaxing time to unwind. Hope you get the coffee butter made so you can relax that it is done.

@LSlycord Does your returning the company computer mean that your job is over?? BTW, keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Saw the photo on FB and looks like you and your friend were having a fun time.

@bcgal00 Good luck and hope that Remi will leave the tree and decorations alone. Maybe he will get adjusted to seeing the tree before the decorations are added.

@taxed4ever Thanks for the nice comments on my Avi... It is my best Christmas photo of me. Glad that Gary did the outside decorations... still plenty of time to get the inside ones done. Glad I won't have outside ones as we are finally get the cold fronts coming in.... and will have lots of strong winds with them...(55-65 mph).

Tonight is family chat night so need to figure out what to make for supper... and have it before or after the chat. I made a medium pan of Apple Crisp in late afternoon yesterday. Had some apples that needed to be used. Oh... it was so good with a topping of Southern Pecan ice cream melting on it. Got 7 more servings dished up and ready to be frozen. And that used all of the single serving sizes plastic storage bins. Will have to start getting some of the frozen stuff used up before I doing more 'family sized' cooking.

Thanks, Kay. I used to be so slick at bow-making but I'm a bit rusty. This wreath is too high on the wall for me (shorty) to do what you suggested. I tried to eyeball it, but it just turned out too big. I still don't have the bow attached to the wreath, but at least it's done. I haven't seen my new boots yet, so I have a feeling that they haven't been delivered yet. We often get emails that they have, but they haven't. They'll show up by this evening or tomorrow. I hope I like them.

good evening - still busy with family. But I now have an oven that works. They told me last week it was coming. It has been since Sept. I am not I would even have gotten it if I had not told them I wanted my money back. I hate confrontations so I did it nicely by saying I understood that there were back logs so I would need my money back to look some where else. Well that got the ball rolling and now I can bake. I cant wait to go to the store tomorrow so I can buy stuff to bake. Sunday we were at a meet and greet with Santa and for photos and brunch. It was so fun. They gave the kids a sugar cookie and frosting and chocolate sauce and M&Ms to decorate. Last year you had to be distanced from Santa this year you could get near. Then today I got a call from the Devils and I am going to be the NJ Devils season ticket holder of the night. I get seat upgrade to the glass. So cool. I have been smiling all day. So now my bathrooms are fixed, I have an oven and seeing a Devils game up close. My son drove through our town with his family and they all laughed that our house is the only dark one on the block. And it is true.

@faerywings Chris so glad the get together went so well. After being apart it sure is nice to be together. Was shocked how warm today was. Now I guess it will get cold again.

@taxed4ever Trudy wow snow! That is exciting! Glad you MG got his snow tires on even if he took you SUV. How fun to have gotten decorations started.

@tanteva Eva that is way to cold for me. I loved being in Sweden but it was in Oct so not cold. That is interesting that you found something never worn. I am impressed that Urban noticed it was different. My DH never would! Congrats on the washing machine! I think I would have found it a lot harder to deal without the washing machine than the oven.

@BrightEyes Kay I don't feel you are like a slug. I don't get up until 8 am. Have fun with the family chat!

@bcgal00 Rae just like for Trudy congrats on the snow. Bet the dogs were so excited. We may get snow on Wed.

@Cherylndesigns Cheryl congrats on the new boots! I got a notice the oven was coming after it have been installed LOL.

Have a great day all!
