Happy happy Monday!!! Did everyone survive the bustle of the holidays so far?
I had the best holiday!!!! Yeah, you will be seeing lots of !!!! in my posts today. I am tired, still coughing my head off, and my house looks like a red and green paper and glitter bomb exploded. But you know what-- it is all GOOD!

I posted in another thread thatI had one of the best Christmases ever. I love love love my family. (Just in case you hadn't heard that one before ;) )
Fun presents, lots of hugs, seeing Santa on the Firetruck with BFF, being together, food, cookies, a drawing done by my godson for me that warms my heart and is hanging on my fridge, meaningful presents. All of it worth the hard work that went into the day and the hard work of cleaning up the mess today.

The only downsides were that I am worried about my mom. She is not looking healthy and she is always so preoccupied. And I wish I could help Scott help Leah on Christmas. I think as much as she loves being with us it is a hard day for her (her dad passed away on Christmas day when she was 14) and he doesn't get it. *I* don't get it. I still have my parents, never experienced a loss like that. They have to wade through those weeds together, and he will have to find a way to be there for her in the way that she needs. But it is hard to see her hurting and him not being able to understand.

So how about you? Did you have a nice weekend? What was your favorite moment?

I had so many I would bore you all to tears if I listed them all. But my main ones are getting my camera lens. Soooo good to feel a camera in my hand again. Loved the inside jokes between my kids and Gary. And I got enough chocolate covered pretzels (my weakness close behind Christmas cookies) and wine to last me a while.

Love and hugs and wishes of peace to all!!!

Nancy- the rain stopped by us mid-day so it was dry when we met Santa on the Fire truck.
Did Luther get spoiled by Santa? My puppers and the rats did. The cats don't play with toys anymore but they did get treats.

Rae- You sound like you had a busy Christmas Eve morning, I hope that you got everything done that needed to be done.

Jean- I love traditions and yours with your hubby sounds like it is a special one.

Nancy- how pretty to see the lights and luminarias on Christmas Eve. Be careful with the coyote. eep!

Deborrah- Happy Day Three for Hanukkah! How was Rogue One? Have a fabulous time with your sister! Does she live far from you? Enjoy every moment.

Big hugs to all of you!!!
xoxo

good morning! We had a really special day - Zach did an amazing job cooking - we had ham and prime rib. The whole family was there both sides and we laughed and told fun stories. Charles is still amazed that after growing up with Zachary he did not know that Zach did not like French fries nor peanut butter. Just shows to me anyway how much kids are only about themselves. My DH is the best he cleaned all the dishes and Amanda and Zach only had to put everything in their appropriate spots. Let it looking like no one had cooked. And we brought home yummy leftovers. My DH made great desserts. I love Boston Cream pie. Got lovely ornaments from the kids, Chaz game me a great sweater and my DH gave me Devils fleece and socks. Awesome stuff. The kids got what they love too - Amanda got her a Garmin steps tracker and Charles gave them Apple TV. So all is happy and bright! Today hockey is back at 3:30pm as it is the start of the World Jr Championship. This is tournament of 20 and under from each country so the US plays at 3:30 vs Latvia. Yea!

Chris so glad this was such a great Christmas! Love the thought of a green and red glitter bomb! Enjoy the after glow!

Rae, Trudy, Jean and Deborah looking forward to hear how your holidays are!

Probably be another quiet day here. We are enjoying wearing a couple of Christmas presents. We got such nice things from each other, BIL and DH's cousin. Still feeling the glow. Also we had a lovely dinner with lots of yummy roast leftover. Today is gray and windy, but, yikes!, it is 60*F. But not for long.

Chris, I'm so happy your lens is fixed! What a great addition to your joyful sounding Christmas. Wish it was all good, but not everything cooperates as we know so well. Has Leah engaged in grief counseling or group support? Her distress may not be only for herself but also her mother. Scott sounds like the persistent type who will be there for her. (Something like his mother? ;)) Enjoy the red and green diffusion though.

Nancy, your day also sounds super. Did Luther enjoy it too? Sounds like you've got lots of hockey in store.

NancyP, Rae, Trudy, and all, hope your week is starting out well.

Just popping in to say a quick hello. We had a wonderful Xmas and my daughter said it was one of her fave Xmases ever. She agreed that it was nice to have less stress with less spending this year. We all got things we love but no one spent a lot. We had a huge turkey dinner Xmas Eve and then all the leftovers for Xmas dinner along with a ham. I had an assortment of gluten free desserts from the bakery and my chocolate chip cookies were really good. Everyone loved the rice crispies squares (I put extra butter in this year and everyone said they were the best ever). We played a dice game last night which was so much fun, haven't done that in ages. One of my fave gifts was from my hubs, he got me a set of Xmas mugs with little dogs on them. They are soooo cute!

I did some Boxing Day shopping this morning and am home now and exhausted but it was worth it b/c I got some great deals. I'm getting off the computer now and going to have a nap until dinnertime.

Chris - sounds like a wonderful Xmas.

Jean - enjoy your quiet day.

Nancy - my hubs cleaned up all the kitchen stuff too. I was so surprised to walk into the kitchen to find the dishwasher loaded, the counters clean and the sinks empty. I had no idea LOL. He cleaned as I sat and chatted with the kids in the LR. Did Luther get a Xmas gift? Taz got some toys and has been running around squeaking one of them.

I'm getting off the computer for awhile. I can barely keep my eyes open. Time for my nap. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday time!
