The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
We are entering the holiday home stretch! How is everyone feeling about it? I am happy to be getting more and more tasks completed, but sheesh, I am looking forward to Friday and not having much of anything to do.
(Ignore that I will need to clean up after having a house full of people on Thursday, Its all good! Right?? :D)

I think I did everything that I needed to do yesterday, aside from one thing. I washed all of the wine glasses before Thanksgiving but they really could use another go. If I have time, I'll just wash the first two glasses in each row tomorrow. IF I have time.

I feel prepared for the lesson today - at least for the most part. Because it is so cold and windy, I might have to shuffle some things around- inside or outside, some times and places. It's going to be fun!

Gary will have the house to himself today so maybe that will be good for him to relax a little more, too. Not having all of the noise and chaos of the last few days might feel kind of nice (not that I would know! :rotfl: ).

What last-minute things are you working on? Or are you lucky enough to have the next few days to enjoy yourself? If you are that lucky, don't tell me, I don't want to know :lalala:

:giggle4:

Have a wonderful day, my friends!

This moving thing is no joke!
I am never, ever moving from this house. It sounds utterly brutal!
I don't blame you at all for having Batlle of the Wills over Syd driving that far by herself. Good luck with it. Even though I know you will win, I hope that it isn't too big a fight.
I have it down to two...health or peace.
Both are really big words, either one would be an excellent choice. If you want my 2 cents, I would go with Peace. If you can focus on peace, health/healthy choices will follow naturally.

@tanteva, what is the pink stuff on your plate, Red Cabbage? How do you prepare it?

We got all the blinking necklaces, antler headbands and bells ready to share with everyone.
You are so much fun, I love the silly and joyful activities you always have planned. I hope that Kirsten is feeling better and can talk without discomfort ASAP!
'm sure you have plenty and that relieves some stress....I'm proud of you.
Thank you! I *am* trying, although I don't feel like I am winning that battle very often.
Today will be another "take it easy day"
Hope that your shoulder is much better by now.
I should see if DH's other laptop has either Word or Excel on it.
Do you use Google Workspace at all? You should be able to upload the .doc and .xcl files into Google Docs/Sheets and then access them on any computer.
YES! I did get the organizing I wanted to do DONE! T
:woohoo:
Not quite 60s but low 50's with lots of sunshine! I actually fixed a couple of sandwiches, chips and chocolate chip cookies and ate lunch in the woods with Mark!
That sounds amazing!!

Good afternoon. Taking the day off (again) to do nothing but had to come share with you all...........
**dont freak out!!!***

I survived sitting on the floor wrapping gifts!!! And I dont hurt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh:
YAY!!! That is the bestest-est news!! I cannot imagine how much pain you were in and am soooo happythey you are feeling such a huge difference!

I am off to the gallery, then getting myself ready for work.

HAGD!

This pic is at the club after caroling to the shut-ins and "older than us"Our sweet granddaughter took the pic.. It was a blast we had 2 vans and 2 suvs of singers. The first 2 people were not home but we managed to find 12 homes to sing to we even had one a neighbor came out to watch us. This morning we got a note from one of the ladies saying she was sick and was really down in the dumps about Christmas then we showed up to sing to her so she was very happy....that made it worth all the effort. It will be another special Christmas

I helped Jay hang up a shelf he built for the Florida room to put the new music system on. Kirsten and I sat on the dock chatting for awhile, she needed warm sunshine to help her feel better. Last night we did the caroling thing but she couldn't sing because she still cannot speak. After caroling we went to a caroling friends wine and snack party so got home about 10:30...we were done right off to bed.
I went for blood work this morning while Kirsten sleeps in. Later we are going to Tarpon Springs so she can shop for her family then a nice lunch someplace. We will go to the club tonight so no need to worry about making a dinner.
We are making plans (tomorrow) for our "night before, the night before" traditional time with daughter and her family. We will Facetime them to have dinner with them then light the candles on our tree for a few minutes- photo op. Kirsten is here so that will make it very special.

Yippe @faerywings You got this. Christmas will be so wonderful for you with all the effort you put in. How nice to have everyone together. Just take a linen towel to the wine glasses, quick wipe all done...no need to wash since you just did them.
Brr I hope your lesson goes well...cold and windy might be a tough one. I'm with you with your comment about @LSlycord --no more moves for me either # 13 when we move here to Florida I'm done!!!

@vickyday your adventure in the woods for lunch sounds wonderful. I used to Geocache with the grandkids up North we used to take a lunch into the woods- summer, winter. It was so much fun and great memories for them.

@AK_Tracy You went from living hell to living wonderful after a few operations. That is so amazing, I'm happy for you. Still could not wrap presents on the floor. Wishing you a dream Christmas with your family.

Off to spend time with Kirsten and Jay

Hope your lesson and activities go smoothly today! Hope Gary is feeling some better, anyway!
It is cold here, but not windy.

WOW! What a beautiful setting for a wonderful group of people! That pic is so delightful! A scrapper and framer!

Good Morning,
Lousy night of sleep! Finally got up at 8:15. I will be leaving here soon to make the bank deposit. I need to wash the bed linens today and Mark's work clothes from last week. It is cold, but the sun is shining again! The sunset was early and beautiful last night, even from the house! I'm sure it would have been magnificent from the woods!

That is looking out our back yard towards our woods.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Good morning O'ladies! I think that I have settled for my big 2026 Word to be Peace. I agree, if I can get the Peace thing going, the health will follow.

What last-minute things are you working on? Or are you lucky enough to have the next few days to enjoy yourself? If you are that lucky, don't tell me, I don't want to know :lalala:
Well, use me as the standard and you will feel oh so good about yourself!:whistle2:I still need to shop for some presents...looking pretty lean under the tree! Speaking of the tree...it is up and lit...with only one decoration on it. I need to get some wrapping paper for the gifts that I do have. I need to get groceries for Christmas dinner. And last night my niece called and said that all of my brother's family was gathering at my nephew's around 11 on Christmas Day. I asked what I could bring and they are just now planning it so I guess we will just roll with it. Yep, typing that out, PEACE in 2026 is the goal.

@faerywings I can't believe that you are still doing classes this week! But you have so many great ideas that I know you can handle anything that the weather throws at you!

@BoatLady I am so jealous of the fun friend group that you have! Caroling sounds like it was a great activity...not just for the ones that were doing it but also for those on the receiving end! Only 13 moves...you must have a couple more? :rotfl:This is number 12 for us...as long as you don't count helping Sydney move. Honestly, I really think that all future moves involve packers and movers. So maybe we will just stay put!

@AK_Tracy I can't believe that you got down on the floor, wrapped presents and got back up---all pain free! Good for you!!

@vickyday I'm sorry that last night's sleep was bad. Hope that tonight's is better. And oh my...that photo of the sunset last night. Absolutely amazing!

I did get my errands run yesterday... but the traffic was terrible!!! Finally dawned on me - it was Friday and the Christmas shoppers were out in droves!!! UGH!!! Came home with 7 library books. Ran across 3 books by James Patterson...about 'The Shadow'. Now I am showing my age... "Who knows what evil lurks in the minds of men... The Shadow Knows.." It was a radio program I listened to (before TV). I am curious to read the books as Lamont Cranston (The Shadow in the 40's) is transported into the future... Then I stopped at the used book/DVD store and scored big time... with 12 movie DVDs + plus a big one: 6 DVDs of Rogers/Hammerstein musicals. . . . The Sound of Music; The King and I; Oklahoma; Carousel; South Pacific; and State Fair... !!! I ended up reading until 1 AM this morning. Still have about 1/4 of the book to go to finish it. Think this is going to be another PJ day... sit in the recliner with the massager and read. (Yes... the shoulder is still bothering me...)
I love Rogers and Hammerstein musicals. Those are definitely the best. And the ones that you got...well the memories that come rushing back! LOVE it!
Morning, all. Today will be another "take it easy day" - probably read and/or watch DVDs or Netflix. Yes, I did finish reading that book... and half-way through another book. Will start on the 3 "The Shadow" books next. Pretty sure they will be quick reads. I call my sister yesterday afternoon to tell her about finding them. Promised her I would let her know if I liked them... and if I thought she might want to get them to read on her kindle.

Decided that making the pumpkin pie will wait until Tuesday or Wednesday. The shoulder is better this morning - but I am going to baby it for a few more days.
Glad to hear the shoulder is better...but look how that is increasing your reading time!

@tanteva, what is the pink stuff on your plate, Red Cabbage? How do you prepare it?

It's store-bought. It's beetroot salad. Classic to eat with meat balls, sausage and Christmas ham. It's made with pickled beets & apples, diced. And then there's a sauce made from sour cream & mayo. Not sure what spices, but it's not spicy at all. Probably just a dash of salt and white pepper or something like that. I can probably dig up a recipe if you want it.

Can you get pickled beets over there?

What a fun night and what an beautiful photo!!!!!!! I love the full on decorations behind you guys. Makes a wonderful backdrop.
You went from living hell to living wonderful after a few operations.
Yes, this sums it up in a few words. Hit the nail on the head.
Lousy night of sleep!
I'm sorry! Hopefully tonight will be an amazing night of sleep.
I can't believe that you got down on the floor, wrapped presents and got back up---all pain free! Good for you!!
I cant either!!! Didn't know this old bod could still do it!

Well, sorry to fast and furious but need to get my day started and brave the cold. Darn stores dont deliver.
Have a wonderful day and stay warm.

Good morning ladies. I am off for a walk with Remi before getting ready to go visit a few friends for an afternoon wine/appie get-together. Then I'll come home for a few hrs and head out to Xmas bingo with friends. It's fun, we play the standard bingo games but they also give out Xmas gifts. The first 50 people get a ripped half of a playing card and then at intermission they go up and find the matching other half, which will be the gift they get. Last year I got a certificate for a free night of bingo. It'll be fun. We'll have dinner and a drink before they start the games.

Tomorrow morning I have Taz's visit with the vet and then will drop him off so I can go into Calgary to get groceries. It'll be another big shop as I'll be getting food for Xmas, Xmas Eve and Boxing Day buffet for anyone that pops by.

Usually I can count on tonight being a great night of sleep after a night like last night! Fingers crossed!

Yes, tonight should be much better! Thank you! I can only imagine the view from the other end of the woods! But I was too lazy to go there, LOL! Much easier to just walk out my back door!

Hello, all. Keeping my fingers crossed.... and being careful not to stress the shoulder/arm. It is feeling even better than yesterday!! :D But this is time I need to be especially careful as it is easy to forget that it is still healing. Yes, I have spent lots of time reading. I was so disappointed with The Shadow book... reads like a teenager with mayhem in mind... UGH!!! Read the first 50 pages and gave it up!!! More like it should have been done as a graphic art/comic book. At least I had other library books to read over the weekend. Will take them back tomorrow as the library will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday.

The last 3 of the 2025 Inspirations are in the shop... So beautiful. Will try to get a LO or two made with them soon. BTW... the 2026 Inspirations is on special sale until the end of the year... And December Color Play will be released right after Christmas.

@faerywings so proud of you to say no to more cookies making. You have been like the energizer bunny... going, going and going. Glad you most of the plans made for work. Hope you are able to relax and enjoy having the family together on Christmas.

@BoatLady What a fabulous photo of the group... I also saw the other photos of them on FB.

@LSlycord You have been as busy as Chris... so glad that will have a few days with the family before you make the trip to Florida. Will you fly back from there?? Had to LOL over the one ornament on your Christmas tree!!! I am sure the kids will enjoy helping you get it decorated.

@AK_Tracy BRRRR!!! That is too cold for me. We will in the mid-60's for the next week... though we may get rain toward the end of this week. Stay warm, gal...

Time to get my :showering:and dressed. I am going to ignore the over-flowing dirty clothes hamper until after Christmas... it isn't like I don't have enough clothes/PJs/underwear until then... :floorlaugh:dance3 HAGD
