Who is ready to start the day?!
(not me)
Well, too darn bad because there are only 4-5 days left before the Big Days.

I have to say, yesterday was the closest that I felt to being "ready." This morning- not so much LOL I found baskets and bags and cookie tins. The fridge is cleaned out and I was able to toss some old fruit outside for the animals. Unfortunately, I am still having a rough time planning for dinners both regular and holiday. The kids have certain requests for food and I have a lot of stuff in the cart but I am not sure how I am going to get it all set in my head.
Caitlyn submitted her last paper so she is done with the semester. No worries about school and internships for the next 4 weeks. She has her evaluation meeting this afternoon but I am pretty sure that is going to go smoothly. They have been telling her all along how well she is doing.

Today I have a few more things to wrap and I am waiting on two more things to get shipped to Walgreens to be picked up. They should be there today.

Wishing everyone a fantastic and productive day!

Jean- that warms my heart so much about your neighbors! And a new baby- such happy news!
Me too- I have been counting the days until the Solstice today. Even if it is freezing outside, the lighter days will cheer me up. Thx for your kind words about my baskets

Cheryl- the Bible is stunning!! That is going to be cherished for generations to come. Don't worry about checking in- we know how busy and hectic it has to be. Good luck and enjoy being surrounded by your family

Rae- OMG- I am so scared and worried alongside you. I don't have any words, nothing cheerful or optimistic to say but I am sending all of my love and am holding your hand so tightly through my screen.
Here I am stressing over what to cook.... :(
I am so so sorry, this year has been hell for you. ((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))

Felis- such good advice to Rae.
That is interesting to hear about your traditional New Year's greeting. The US has been fortunate that it hasn't had a war on its soil since the Civil War in the 1860s. Sure we have had plenty of proxy "wars" with the Civil Rights movement and so forth but we prefer to bomb other countries. (sorry, that slipped out :tape: ) I am hoping that the planets are aligning for a much better 2021. I don't do resolutions and thank goodness I didn't for 2020. It would make it even more depressing. "What did you do in 2020? I stayed home and got fat!"
I should take a picture of the little rat and share that, he really came out cute.
I feel your pain with your cat and the conflict of wanting him to be at peace but the need for him to stay. It is so weird, I don't believe in Heaven or Hell but I totally believe in an afterlife- especially the Rainbow Bridge. I need to be able to see my loved ones again on some realm.
How is the kitty doing with the news meds?

Hang in there, my dear friends. I know this is such a difficult time for everyone and I wish I could make it better. Please know that I am ending love and strength to you all.

Good Monday morning everyone! It was pouring rain this morning and now it is starting to snow!! The temp suddenly dropped a few degrees, so perhaps DH will get to use his snowblower after all LOL. I am in a better mood today, after a few emails to the woman who wants my painting. She says that she will wait as long as it takes for me to get the painting done. I am now waiting for it to completely dry before re-doing it and the more I look at it the more I don't really like either. Just a blow to my ego I guess and I will give it another try. I really should have done some more practice pieces before attempting this big canvas. I now need to get a whole stash of paints again as I am totally out of the colours that I need. She also is wanting two more smaller pieces for other rooms in her house. So no more stressing about this painting I will not let it ruin an already difficult Christmas! DH and I dropped off a gift to SIL Linda yesterday afternoon along with her Norwex order that she had placed and she was very happy to have a socially distant visit from us. We all chatted outside with our Masks on and caught up on what has been happening in our lives lately. It was nice to see her again and we were happy to hear that the call back for her Mammo was nothing at all Whew!! Sure put a scare into her though!!

Chris - Sounds like everything is coming into place for your preparations, you can do it!! It will be a big relief to have it done and then hopefully you can rest and just enjoy your family!! WTG Cait on being done for another semester! She is a rock star!! Thank you for your kind words about my painting rant LOL. Sometimes I act like a spoiled brat and I just needed some time to pout :pout: There are far more important things to worry about! Still waiting for the parcel that I shipped to Heather to arrive to her, looks like it should be today though so that is a relief! Ontario has been put into lockdown for 28 days, so our Son called last night feeling pretty bummed that they would not be able to spend New Year's Eve with Heather and family. This year really is the worst!!

Jean - How lovely to have the chocolates dropped off from your neighbours! The family across from us did the same, we are pretty close to them as the kids played with Mason and Hunter last summer and we got to know them all quite well. However they gave us a nice bottle of wine and a bottle of Scotch LOL. with a note to say it will help us forget this Covid year LOL.

Cheryl - The Bible is simply beautiful! Like the others have said it will be such a wonderful keepsake and will be passed down generation to generation I am sure! The perfect gift for your Ava!! How exciting to be getting ready to move into the new Home! A very busy time for you to say the least!

Rae - Oh my dear friend, this has been the year from hell for you and your family!! Sending you all the love I can muster up for your B!!! Remember to take time to cry and get all the pent up feelings out!! I hope that things will be safe for your Bailey, she does not deserve to have this happen to her! None of you deserve any of this! (((((hugs))))) to all of you!

Felis - Happy Winter Solstice to you and your family! What an interesting New Year's greeting!! Very appropriate for this year however! I do not do resolutions either and I hope that your cat will stay with you until this terrible year is over and hopefully will be at peace on the other side! Yes I think we all hope that there is more to our existence than what we are offered here on earth!

Well I think that Heather and the boys will be calling very soon as they are done with school until after the end of this crappy year. I should have a face time with Isaac and Sadie too. It will be a busy day again as I need to get a sugar cookie tree made for the kids across the street today. I will post a photo when I am done. Have a great day everyone! Well as great as it can be with all the crap happening for everyone! Yes a very difficult year and like Chris I wish I could make it all better for you all!!

good day - well the semester is over for my DH. He handed in all grades on Sat. night. They are not starting the spring semester until Feb. 1 and then going straight through with not breaks. He went in today so I am home alone. But the best news is Hockey is back. The season will start on Jan 13. Training camps open Dec 31 for the Devils and Jan 2 for teams in last year's playoffs. Of course most arenas will be empty but just to be able to watch will make me so happy. They realigned the divisions and all the teams in Canada will just play there and no crossing of the borders. Each team in the US divisions will play each other 8 times no cross division games. They are only playing 56 games. My team has been off so long that I wonder what I will see in the first games as there will be no preseason games. I finished the show Turn. It had a great ending. I like shows that actually allow the characters to end. I looked on line to see what happened after the war. They all had so many children. That always shocks me when I read about the past is just how many children families had. Had good talk with my son about what we need to bring to Christmas dinner. It will just be the 5 of us, me my DH and my sons and their girls.

Chris love the photos of the gifts. Homemade is so special. Congrats on Cait being done too! Love your baking!

Jean saw the Browns defeated the Giants. Not surprising LOL but the Jets won their first game which probably means they won't get the first pick. The Jets lose by winning. They just cant get out of their own way. I love that Browns are doing so well after so long.

Cheryl congrats on the house moving date. That is so exciting. Keep us informed when you have time.

Trudy I know what its like when your client asks for changes. I have done two wedding albums. One for a friend and one for a relative. I know the albums were for them but it is hard when they ask for changes and then more changes. Take a breath and do your best. Sometimes I think it is what we like that matters. Beside we all know your work and it is beautiful.

Felis hope your kitty is doing well. Luther's leg got rested and he is doing so much better now so it was probably just a sore muscle.

Kay hope the finger is doing well.

Rae I am so sorry to read about Covid and caregiving. Hopefully she will be one of the ones to get the vaccine first. Sending prayers.

Have a great day all!

Good morning my lovelies. I love that we're all so supportive here! Thank you for all the wonderful and sweet comments about Ava's Bible. It was truly a labor of Love. I can't wait to give it to her.

This week is going to be crazy, but I'll try to at least stop in and say hello. I unwound last night and did the Anna Cross Over Challenge while I was waiting for my tea to kick in. It felt good to just let go and create.

Today, we have to go get handles for the French Doors and the closet systems. We also still need mirrors for each of the vanities in the bathrooms. I'm just going to get white wooden framed mirrors. Ava got all of the drawer and cabinet pulls on the kitchen cabinets. I'll update my pictures soon, I promise. She's quite the little "handy man/girl in boots, I call her.

A LOT was accomplished yesterday now that "the boss" is here! He says that we ARE moving Saturday! Busy week with Christmas on Friday. We'll probably have our little celebration on Ava's house. And one more surprise - my oldest, Cameron, is coming for Christmas!! I'm SO excited!! He didn't think he'd have the money for a ticket, but I have a feeling that my dd slipped hijm the money.

Ray, I hope you're plowing through your client's wishes. Rae, sending hugs to you, sweetheart. Chris, Felis, Trudy, Nancy, and anybody else who comes later, lots of hugs to all of you. Group Hug

Morning, all. Had a broken night's sleep.... must have woken up at 4-5 times. And I fell sleep yesterday afternoon while reading. That is normal for when I sick. Just a short up-date... definitely have a head cold with runny nose and sneezing. No fever or no coughing and no sore throat. Can still taste my flavored coffee. :D The finger is still very sore with a slight bit of bleeding each day. I forget and use the right hand to pick up things which puts pressure on the finger. DD#1 [who was a manicurist] said it could take a few weeks for it to heal until the tear in the nail grows out past the tip of the nailbed. So typing is slow going with lots of mistakes.

Chris, love seeing some of your handmade gifts. And congrats to Cait on finishing her papers on time. Think Scott made the right choice to turn down that job that was so far away.

Cheryl, so glad you have a moving-in date. Glad the Boss is there to make sure things move along and meet that date. The Bible is fantastic... definitely will become a family treasure.

Rae, so sorry about the news of B's caretaker. Hoping that B stays well.

Trudy, had to LOL over your DH maybe getting to use the snow-blower. A shame that the client wants changes but glad she is not rushing you to have it done quickly.

Nancy, so good that your DH is done with his teaching for this semester. Like the idea of not starting next semester until Feb and going with no breaks. Maybe the vaccines will be more widespread and the spread will diminish by spring.

Time to take a break... too much typing.

Thanks everyone. I've not been online much today, trying to relax with a book in between doing housework and errands. I'm trying to stay positive for B and everyone else in the carehome. I'm going to go relax and watch some TV now.

Did get out for a walk with Taz in the snow today. It was wet yucky snow but he loved it.

Maybe tomorrow I'll be a bit chattier. BFN

 I'll not surprise you when I admit that I'm late and out of time again.
Just want to let you know to not worry, that my cat is start to feeling better. And I'm busy with pleasant things as scraping and holidays preparation!
Don't worry at all! Will try to come back later/but it will be tomorrow post! Love you all!

Rae !

Kay, I'm happy (and this is very strange, what a times) that you have just a cold, take care for yourself, dear! Lots tea and blankets! I'm sorry that I'll play knowledgeable again, but if you still use hydrogen peroxide on your finger this could actually delay the healing. You needs from antiseptic unguent.

Cheryl, don't forget to enjoy the holidays!

Nancy, oh, I'm so happy to hear that Luther's leg is better, I was worried! It's lovely that you'll have the whole family together! Who will cook?

Trudy, how nice that you got consensus with the client after all! Haha, I'm so happy for your hubby and the snowblower!

Chris, hope you'll be able to figure out fast your diners plans! No worries for that here, as we have traditional dishes, that must do.
I think you'll be very happy to learn that Middleton's first Christmas gift is completely inspired by you and your kiddos. I ordered him tennis balls, as you had story how much they enjoy them and even will wrap them one by one, as he loves to destroy things! Can't promise you photos as I want to enjoy the moment with him, but will see!

Jean  .
