CHEERY O
Happy Winter Solstice!!!! I look forward to this day since it means that the days will start getting longer. I almost typed warmer, but that is just wishful thinking. However, I cannot complain. I was looking through some old pictures yesterday and there were a lot of ones with snow in early December in previous years.

It is also a O-birthday today!
happy birthday mediterranka

Man oh man, i really overdid it on my feet yesterday and today, I am in sooooo much pain. After I take my shower I am going to roll myself up in my pain patches. OK, maybe not-- don't want to OD! So just one will have to do, I just have to figure whether it will go on my neck or my hip. Decisions, decision!!!! hahahaha!!

I got such an amazing esteem boost from Caitlyn's friends yesterday. Two of them had told their mom's about the lotions and one mom bought a bunch of stuff when she picked up her son and the other one's mom called to place an order and picked it up last night. That was $65 this weekend!
All three baskets are done and everyone says they look great. There is always that part of me that doesn't like something but no one else notices. Gary took Cait to the road test course so I flew into the kitchen to bake his shortbread.
Only to find that I had no confectioners sugar. There were F-Bombs dropped a plenty, esp. since I had no car!! :boom:
But I remembered that you can make you own, so I googles that and let me tell you ladies-- it worked! 1 cup of regular sugar and 1 Tbsp cornstarch in a blender. The shortbreads are currently in my closet again, ready to be unmolded as soon as I have a few minutes in the kitchen, prob when Gary is in the shower.. LOL

Then I started sorting and wrapping a few gifts, I have such a bad habit of throwing gifts in a big box in my room. I have a list of what I bought but it tends to be chaotic anyway.
Relate???
I get a text from Cait that they are 10 mins away so I rush to clear the table and dump everything that is unwrapped into that box in my room.
But I still hadn't stared baking the cookies that I was supposed to be making so I did that next.
Long day and I am paying for it. But no rest for the wicked. :wickedwitch
Cait has her road test today and if she passes (please pass parallel parking!!!), that means we will wait and wait in the DMV to get her license. With Scott, we waited for 4 hours and there were so many people inside, they kicked out everyone not actually on line for service outside. Maybe there won't be as many people there for regular lic. renewals who will do it after Christmas? *hopeful*

Driving tests are excused absences so Cait is going to stay home and Gary is going to get her over to the empty parking lot to get her to practice parallel parking. Then we will leave her around 11am, EST-- good vibes are appreciated.

Hope everyone has a calm and restful day!

Talk about a crazy day, Rae. eep! I can't tell you the last time I was awake at 1am- unless it was from insomnia :pound:
Was the party fun? And yes, I see you have the same issue of Hidden Gift Chaos too!!!!!
My kids have to "Poison Test" all cookies. You know, for the greater good. I imagine that sitting with a cup of tea and cookies was a nice way to end your day.

Trudy- hahah! That instigator smilie is great, is it imported here?
it-was-him2-smiley.gif

I didn't find it (that means nothing!) but I love it, as well as the dog walk one. Yes-- 100% perfect for Nancy!
Hope that you were able to sit back with a glass of wine after you bottled it all and then tackled more yard debris.

Sandra- I saw that you posted Los on FB! Yay!!!!! Great to see that and I hope that you will be able to start that again. miss you!

Claire- poor guy to have a needle phobia and have to be stuck so often. That has to be hard on both of you but I am glad that are able to sedate him when it needs to be done.
So happy that your family will be together! Cait's friend's mom was telling me yesterday that her older son had moved half the country away with his GF very suddenly and she was devastated. he s coming home for the holidays too and I could see in her face how much that means. It makes my heart smile when I hear thjat families reunite, even if for a short time.

Time for me to get into the nice hot shower and loosen up these muscles.

xoxo

Good luck Cait!! Keeping fingers crossed that she passes the test with flying colors - Chris, are you ready for another driver in the house?!

So, I'm baaaack :) I was going to add, "In the land of the living ...," but that's far from the truth. Back. At Work. Trying to eating breakfast ... and ready to fall asleep! It's nearly midnight in Australia right now, so my body thinks I should be curled up in bed. I know I'll be operating on fumes for the next 3-4 days until I truly crash - oh goodie, just in time for all the Christmas day cooking, cleaning, presents ... aaaaahhhhh!!! Heard from Mum via text this morning: she drove the car. She said it was a just a short distance to the local shops, you know, to get a few things (uh-huh - I did a huge shop for her before I left) and to get a coffee. Doctors said no driving for 4 weeks, 3 if she was feeling good ... the women is both independent and stubborn (gee, wonder where I get it from?! :noidea:) and is going to do what she wants - within reason, of course. Then again, she's had both her hips replaced and did that recovery without any assistance.

Well, breakfast is still calling my name - and I need to find something with caffeine to help keep me awake. If I can make it through the next 4 hours or so, then I'll be over the hump and fine until tonight.

Good morning - I am back. DH on way to work and son almost ready to go. Then Luther and I can have some peace. Well no spoilers other than to say that Star Wars was awesome. It was really fun being there in the morning as there were the cutest kids so excited. One little boy walks in and says "Am I dreaming" and then walks over to the poster and bows. Bella the daughter of my son's coworker wore her Darth Vader shirt. Too cute. Was funny eating popcorn at 9am. Came home and let's dogs out, they are just like kids if one dog has a toy the other wants it even if they each have the same just different colors. Rex got mad at one point. Glad to be back to just one dog. Took Luther on a good walk and that helped. My Devils played an awesome game against The Bruins but lost in a shoot out

Chris what a busy day. So glad you sold some of your goodies. And wishing Cait good luck!

Kat welcome back. Your mom sounds like a real go getter. Glad you we're there for her.

Trudy what an exciting low scoring game our two teams had.

Waving to every one

Have a great day!

good morning! I was up really late last night scrapping... it felt good... as some people here know, I haven't done a lot in the last few years after my dad's death and then a divorce... its felt really good to do some stuff again... I realize I need something other than sitting in front of the tv doing which is not productive.

so this morning I've had some breakfast, and I've got the coffee brewing. I'm missing the kiddos so I'm going to try to stay busy... I have some errands to run and a few things to pick up at the store today. Then I need to wrap what few presents I've bought... money has been tight since I lost my job, but I'm thankful to be substituting.

Chris - thank you... I miss you too!

good morning Kat and Nancy!

Mmmm... smells like the coffee's done... now I'm off to grab a cup!

Good morning, ladies. Is the weekend gone already? That flew by and almost nothing got done. I've got a list and will be busy every day now until Xmas. Today is menu planning and pulling all the gifts out. I was going to do that last night but I was too tired by the time all the baking was done. Bailey and I had fun baking together. Our oatmeal cookies taste really good but they spread out a lot more than expected so they came out of the oven looking like one big cookie. So we don't have round cookies, they are square LOL. the important thing is, they taste yummy! Our rice krispie squares and peanut butter/chocolate bars turned out great. I will make another batch of the bars for the Boxing Day dinner we're going to. When I was out shopping on Saturday I found a gift I really wanted so after taking a pic and texting details to my hubs, he said to go ahead and pick it up. It's an automatic programmable pressure cooker. I've seen them on cooking shows and have been wanting one for awhile now. I hadn't seen them in the store before so was very excited to have found it. I got a 3 yr warranty too for full value replacement. I have been using my regular stoptop pressure cooker more lately and love it. Everything cooks so fast and is always tender and moist. I also put a Cuisinart popcorn maker on m list so I don't know if I'll be getting that.

Chris - fingers crossed for Cait; I'm sure she'll do fine. You need to take pics of your baskets to show us. I'd love to see. Hope your achy body feels better after a hot shower. My hubs always soaks in an epson salt bath and that loosens up the muscles nicely.

Nancy - Sounds like a fun time at the movie. We might go next week when the crowds die down a bit.

Kat - bet you're glad to be home. I can't believe your mom is out driving LOL. I do think a litle stubborness can take us a long way. My mom was like that too, which served her well. With all her illnesses, she managed to live many years longer than all the doctors thought and I swear it was sheer stubborness that kept her going :)

Sandra - looks like life has thrown you a few curve balls. Hope a brighter future is just ahead and it sounds like you're persevering and moving forward. I always find scrapping as good therapy.

So, off I go, get some work done, get some chores done, get some shopping done, get some menu planning done, get some wrapping done....whew....I'm tired already LOL. Have a great day, ladies!

Hey ladies... :plane: flying by quickly as I am so late getting in here today! Spent most of the morning face timing with DD and Mason. He is so cute he loves little wind up toys and small little things that you get from Kinder Eggs etc. So this morning he lined them all up on the kitchen table for me to see, then he clapped his hands and said they are looking at you GG!! Time for a party!! OMG he kills me with his cuteness!! I miss him so much! But thank goodness I get to talk to him almost every day. I really can't stay here today as I have to head to the store and pick up a few last minute things and finish off DH's desk calendar and then wrap a couple of things, drop off a gift to my sister and then get supper started. Whew lots to do and the fact that I slept in until 8am really threw my schedule out of whack!! I will try to catch up with all of you tomorrow!! Have a great Monday everyone!!

Stupid stupid computers
Mine has just died, it was old and is not going to be replaced so bye bye digital scrapbooking p booking. I have changed over to doing my project life by hand if you see what I mean, and I haven't printed any pages for ages just stored so think I will have a long rest. Will save quite a bit of money. I will need to work out how to connect my camera phone o my kindle to simple edit photos and then put on card to print at a booth.
I will still Bob in here to say hi but maybe only once a week.
Hoping you all have a great Christmas, Chris would you copy this onto the Tuesday chatter so others can see
Thanks Claire
