Happy Monday! :waving1
Guess what????
It is less than three weeks until.....
The days get longer again!!!
Yes!!! :bowdown3:

I'll still be grumbling about temps and weather but at least the days will be longer. Hang onto the little things.
Did everyone have a great weekend? Mine was good, but then I crashed. I didn't do much of anything yesterday but I had an awful headache. By the end of the day, I was wishing wholeheartedly that I was capable of taking a nap.
I was going over some of the holiday baking and asked the family what cookie I should drop from the list. You know what the answer was?
Glares:mad:

Me~>:exitroom:

I asked Caitlyn in the morning and got crazy dirty looks from her. Then I asked Scott when he came by on his work break and got the same exact glare from him. The one cookie they were willing to give up-- well, Gary was disappointed because that was *his* favorite. So looks like I am going to have to make them all.
NB: If this sounds familiar, yes, you are correct. I go through this same discussion and debate every year. And every year, I end up making more cookies than the prior year. This time around, Cait and I are making vegan versions of our two "classics" -- walnut balls and walnut cups.

I have a boatload of stuff to do today- I really and truly need to finish up Cait's album. I got one more LO done yesterday and I still have 8 more to go. I think it's 8. Might be 7. Oh Lordy, I hope it is 7....
I also need to take stock of baking ingredients and update my grocery order.
--Gather soil samples for tomorrow. We are talking about rocks and soil so the plan is to make soil shakes. I want to have some soil samples ready in case we can't be outside for very long. I also found a recipe for Mud Slime that I think the kids will *love* to make. I hope we have enough liquid starch and glue in the supplies to mix that up. If not, I have Mud Painting as a backup.
The last thing to do is to make my sweet potato dog treats. I baked sweet potatoes on Thanksgiving and will be using the leftovers for them. Does anyone know of you can freeze baked sweet potatoes? I have 5 of them and only need 1-2 for today.

I think I will google that before I forget.

Hugs!!

@BrightEyes I only made my siggie with the Jingle and Mingle kit but you are right-- it is stunning!
I spent some time in the Gallery yesterday but it was loading so slowly and my head was hurting too much to have any level of patience. I will look for your Day One LO soon :)
Hope you had enough coffee and yes, you are right. It is much nicer to share the coffee with Tracy. (As long as there is some left in the pot Bwuhahahha!)
As of right now, I don't see how we can have the field trip if it is below 32*. Scott has a night hike on Friday and he is debating canceling that too. His is for adults so there is more wiggle room but how many adults want to night hike if it is in the teens?
Crazily enough, I now know people who would want to do that. Just not me. ;)

J wants her breakfast. BRB!

I think I saw Buddy the Elf popping in and out of the threads already this morning. :elf4:I will tell him you were looking for him... heee-heee
I think you scared him off. I couldn't find him anywhere. :couchhide:
Or maybe he is :ignore1: me!

:elf1:

See I knew I like Kay better!!! She wants me caffeinated and happy!!!! But can you shorten the shift to 11 EST so I can have my coffee at 7 a.m. Alaska time? Please dont make me wait an hour longer!!!!!!
Hahahaha!! Kay is much nicer than me when it comes to coffee hoarding. :D

oday is warm! Its 12!!!! :floorlaugh: with 6"of new snow. Gonna make driving fun!!!! If you ever felt you needed to improve your prayer life, come see me. I have the solution. Its riding home with a child driving on Sundays. He's so not getting it and oh the slippery roads are FUN.
Nope. No way, no thank you. I would be braking from the passenger seat so hard, I'd put a hole in the floor.

I'm going to get a few more centerpieces done today and hopefully get 1-2 bracelets created. I have a busy wk ahead (7 days of activities/parties/xmas market) but it'll be fun
You must be having a blast with your crafting! Are you gifting the centerpieces to your friend group or do you have places in your house in mind? You have such a good eye so I know they are coming out amazing. What do you like better so far, centerpieces or jewelry?
It can't be a year since you moved! It feels much longer in some ways and much shorter in others. What a good decision to leave Kamloops though. You seem so happy and social now and so does D! ♥

Now J wants to go back outside... It's too cold to open my door and wait for her. *sobs*
How many days until spring? o_O

Good Morning everyone! Happy December 2nd!! It was a very happy weekend for our family! The In-Laws called the meeting and we all were thinking the worst, but it turns out that they wanted us all to be together to get an early Christmas gift. It was the only time we could all be there together as SIL Sharon will not be back here before Christmas, her man friend is going down hill very quickly and most likely will be in hospice in the coming days. So very sad!! However we were all very pleasantly surprised to receive a substantial amount of $$'s as our Christmas gifts and will also be able to avoid inheritance taxes as it is a gift. They wanted to show us their updated will. They have made Gary their alternate POA as they are starting to worry about their finances and the fact that one of them might get dementia. We were all very shocked at their willingness to finally share this information! We will invest some of it and gift some of it to our kids and hopefully get all the renos done that we need. DH wants us to go on a warm vacation after we come back from Ottawa at Christmas, so how could I say no to that?? We celebrated well into the night with the family and had a bit too much to drink! :drinkbuddies:LOL so the next day was a quiet recuperation day! We are feeling much better today and I hope to get busy with the Christmas party here, no booze allowed :giggle4:. I also have some cyber Monday shopping to finish off and then I should go and look for a few more stocking stuffers today also. The day will fly by I am sure!

I was going over some of the holiday baking and asked the family what cookie I should drop from the list. You know what the answer was?

Ha, Ha Chris you should know better than to ask such a silly question :giggle4:. Sounds like you are going to be one busy baker over the coming days!! Now you have to bake for the dogs too!! I should probably do a bit of baking myself and take it over to the In-Laws as MIL has difficulty standing for long periods of time to bake cookies etc. Although FIL is pretty good about helping her get them in and out of the oven, especially if she is baking cookies for him LOL. I really need to get a new siggie done today also, I keep putting it off. I sure do love your's!!

I need to go and read over the daily O's from the weekend and get a message sent out to the November Challenge winners that they will not be getting their coupons until the 12 days are over. I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!! :waving3:

Good morning Ladies!

Guess what????

The days get longer again!!!
Yes!!! :bowdown3:
YES! We are on the count down. At the moment we have 6 hours daylight. But its shrinking fast. We always get excited yet Dec 22nd only adds seconds to the day LOL But yes, its almost to the longer days ahead!!!

HEHEHE that happens here too. One year I didn't plan or make gingerbread trains and my family was so bummed. Last year the world went sideways and I didn't get to do any baking (except for trains) so I am looking forward to having time. to do so this year. Karen's cookies and cocoa party kit is perfect for all my December baking. So be prepared for photo layouts of treats.
Does anyone know of you can freeze baked sweet potatoes?
I was going to say yes but I see you googled and know already! :giggle4:

You dont want me in withdrawal. You wont like her. She's grumpy and mean. Todays black coffee, gotta cut back on some of the fats and indulging. Its not amazing but maybe the joint swelling will go down a bit.

Oh this is awesome! So glad it was a wonderful thing and not a problem. That's wonderful they're finally being open and talking to you all. What a wonderful early gift to receive too.

Today is the first of the month so it will be cleaning as normal and deep cleaning added. Gotta maintain and clean appliances and such. Need to get LO done for day 1. I picked wrong LOL The directions are gonna test me but will be fun to se if I can do it.

Need more coffee. Thankfully Chris left some in the pot.:coffeedrinker: Have a wonderful day.

Wow, it has been another busy day for me. Worked on a couple of CT LOs and uploaded this week's FWP - Frozen Dreams by Xuxper LO. Having fun in the gallery making comments. I did look at the Day 2 - Scavenger Hunt game. Will take time later on today to see how many I can find.

@faerywings I was :floorlaugh: if you think that the family was willing to drop one of cookies from the ones they want to have. And, of course, you should make the one that Gary loves. Good luck on the HS mud class... I bet it is going to be a messy one!!

@taxed4ever - what a wonderful surprise at the family meeting!!! Glad the In-laws are aware of some of the things they should do vis a vis their health/financial and setting up the legal paper work.

@AK_Tracy No matter what Chris said about an empty coffee pot... I will keep checking it and make more coffee for us all. :drinks2: Glad you are happy that the daylight will be getting longer... but only by a minute??? <sigh>

In three weeks we will be down to just over 5 hours daylight so yeah, any increase will be amazing!!! :giggle4:
Thank for always keeping the coffee pot full for us!!!! You're awesome!!!

Good afternoon ladies. Went out this morning to take Darrell to the hospital. It was at one we haven't been to before. They specialize in urology/prostate stuff. D got his yearly cystoscopy done and the doc said everything looks good. His dad had prostate cancer, it runs in his family, so he gets checked regularly.

I'll get a page done, take Remi for another walk around the pathways and then make another bracelet. I made 3 last night, two for me and one for Jen. I'm enjoying the jewelry making. I ordered a light/magnifier which will make it easier.

@faerywings I had fun with the centerpieces, 4 in total, all put out on the main floor. I like both activities but will do more with the jewelry making. The centerpieces I will only swap out for new ones probably 3 times a year (Xmas, spring/summer and fall). Mudslide and mud painting, both sound like fun activities for the kids.

@taxed4ever What a surprise that must have been.

I'm off to check out the party and get a LO done.

Baked is my favorite way to eat sweet potatoes.....except as candied.....but that's more like dessert!

So glad to hear the family meeting turned into a celebration for everyone! That is a good idea to give the money as a gift instead of an inheritance to avoid the taxes (that are not right, IMHO!)

Good Evening Ladies!
Got back at midnight last night. Unpacked some things that needed to be put away and then sat to chill with my sleepy time tea until a little after 1 and was in bed by 1:30.....and quickly asleep! The sleeping at my daughter's was not good!

Got up at 9 this morning and finished unpacking.
Made a grocery list then went to shop.
Moved the pictures from this weekend from the camera and phone to the EHD.
Took the car back to the shop.....we had another problem pop up while we were coming home last night.....we left my daughter's house at 6 p.m. in order to miss a lot of traffic, knowing it would be pretty late by the time we got home. On the last leg of the trip a tire service warning came on stating we needed to fix the tire NOW! We had felt no indication of tire problems, but Mark pulled into the WV Welcome Center to check the tire.....nada! As we drove on down the road, the warning light went off.....kept coming back on and going off a couple of times. Today, nothing! Something else for the mechanic to check out! GRRRR!!
Time to get caught up here for the party I've arrived to late! And I still need to work on my challenge for Day 10!
It's good to be back!
Talk more tomorrow!
Have a great evening!
