The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Good morning!! It is a Double Fresh Start. A new week and a new month. I am starting out on my best foot ever.
If I say it, it has to come true. :nod1:
Actually, it is a Triple Fresh Start with the first day of the 12 Days party beginning. Psst: Download is here~> DAY 1 - WINTER FUN DOWNLOAD
Buddy has been bopping around the forums and I know he has a ton of goodies to share with everyone! No-Calorie goodies, which are even better.

I was pretty busy yesterday, but felt successful at the end of it all. I placed my initial grocery order, ran the laundry, and pulled out all of the ingredients I need for baking. I have plenty of flour, sugar, and butter. I need to get cream cheese and condensed milk and will update that once I have the final cookie-menu all set. (Cookie-menu-- no idea what the correct phrasing would be, so that is what I am going with!)
I even had time to scrap a page for today's party challenge.
I think the seed paper I made was a success. It looks pretty. It needs a final pressing and then I can cut it into smaller pieces. When I do my brick and mortar shopping this week (Blergh!!! Don't wanna go!), I will look for some clay planters to put the seeds in. This batch I made with zinnia seeds and petals from my garden. If they look nice after I cut it, I'll try the veggie seeds next.

I have to take Gary to the eye doctor this morning, he needs another recheck on the retinopathy. I have a pretty big to-do list for when I get back home. If I can get that taken care of and I still have time and energy, I might make the sweet potato dog treats for the cookie trays.

Sooo, who is ready to get the party started?:xmas9:

A quick in and out again this morning. Working on a couple of LOs before DD#1 arrives today. Can't believe that tomorrow is the kick-off of the 12 Days of December!!!
I hope that you and DD#1 have a fantastic visit! And I hope that her meetings go smoothly.

I asked Syd and Shaun to handle the shoveling so that Brian wouldn't be out there doing that. Shaun said that Syd needed to do it because in January she will be back in Minneapolis for the next 3 weeks and then home for 2 weeks and then January she goes to Florida and he has us for the winter!
bwuahahah!! I think Shaun should be a lawyer. I am LMBO at his reasoning and somewhat shocked that Syd went for it :p
Love that the HeatTrak works well! We are supposed to get snow tomorrow. I am hearing 3-5", which is way too much for me. Hopefully, it won't stick too much to the roads because Scott and Sam are coming over to decorate the tree. Not that that amount of snow would stop Scott- his truck (4Runner) is great in snow, but that doesn't mean his mom likes the idea of him driving in it one bit.
At Thanksgiving, as I was walking up the stairs Wavy saw me and stopped what she was doing and came running over to hug my legs. Then as I was walking into the house with a second load of food, Bo came running out with a picture he had colored for me. Love those kids!:heartpumpred:
That made my heart melt ♥
Now I just have to find my mojo & Christmas spirit. Both seems to be packed away in a box somewhere. Probably way back out in the shed ir something. Made only one layout in November, and probably just a handful in October. No inspiration at all, I hope the next 12 days will get me going.
Good choices on the new kits! I got Anja's and Joyce's is on my wishlist.
I have been digging into a lot of older photos of my kids to get more inspired. I have more to scan-- eventually. Maybe that could help inspire you, too? I know you have some really adorable pics of John.
Darrell might be coming home in the next 2-3 days. We need instruction on setting up the machine and giving the IV once he's home so hopefully we'll get the time for that set up soon.
That would be nice, I can't imagine he is happy in the hospital. Is he noticing any difference in how he is feeling?
Glad that you can kick back and not be pressured to make more inventory.
PS: Be careful with your back as you are dragging boxes around!!!

Hope yours is better.
Its raining
:gloomy::gloomy::gloomy:
So NOT amused. Its almost 40°F.
Another crazy day that it was colder in NJ! We were near 40* and it snowed on and off but nothing stuck (whew).
Here's to your normal frigid days again soon. *fingers crossed*

We've run out of turkey :wow2:
LOL!!!
We still have stuffing and cranberries, and I think a tiny bit of potatoes still. Oh, and corn. No one wants the corn.
Well, we are having super weather here in Florida. 80 and sunny with light breeze.
:bawling:
What a difference the vinegar bath makes for the shower head. Between that and the music system, you must feel like a new person :D
I dropped one in the galley of our boat years ago and some slivers penetrated the teak floor it was horrible. They say a wet paper towel really picks up the smallest pieces so that is what I used.
Oh wow!! My floor is 30+ yo linoleum squares so I don't think anything would penetrate but I am going to use the wet paper towel trick around the edges since some of them have lifted over the years. TFS!

Time to get in the shower, HAGD!

Good morning! And yes, I am ready to get this party started!:partyhorn:I actually woke up thinking we finally made it to December and it was time for the 12 Days of December!

Yes, I am so ready to let 2025 go. Not a very good year at my house in 2025 but there were a few very good things...like coming home to Iowa!

Don't have a lot going on. Need to get the move home figured out for Syd. Need to get my baking list sorted out. Need to...oh well, nothing urgent.

bwuahahah!! I think Shaun should be a lawyer. I am LMBO at his reasoning and somewhat shocked that Syd went for it :p

A memory popped up from FB the other day. I had asked when kids stopped arguing. It isn't arguing so much anymore but there is still a lot of negotiating! And I totally understand the part with your kids driving in the snow. What was normally a 4 hour drive for Sydney turned into a 5 hour drive yesterday. I told her before she left that I expected that amount of time...she didn't believe me. I guess old mom still knows a few things. ;)

Darrell might be coming home in the next 2-3 days. We need instruction on setting up the machine and giving the IV once he's home so hopefully we'll get the time for that set up soon. We'll be doing that for 3 wks and then reassess how he is doing.
I hope that the IV gets him feeling better and isn't too overwhelming in your schedule with the daily IVs. Glad that you are able to enjoy the next couple of weeks without making additional jewelry!

Well, we are having super weather here in Florida. 80 and sunny with light breeze. I repotted some plants for the patio and then watered them all. I filled the bird bath and the feeders, I also gave the blue Heron the scraps from the turkey. So nice out this is some of my favorite weather. I pruned some herbs all this with my cane in hand by the way.
That sounds like a delightful day...I had the best birds in Florida and I do miss them.
After all the travel all I wanted was one day to be home, get organized, and relax a little. I uploaded a bunch of CT layouts to FB, and now I'm off to get a Color Play layout done just under the wire!
Totally understand that feeling! I love to travel but it always soooo good to be home!

My friend and I decided it was just too cold for our Monday bike ride, and we both have appointments in the afternoon, so another day goes by without one. At least here in Virginia, we won't have 30° days all winter, most of the time it's in the 40s, and I can definitely bike in that. On the bright side, though, the extra time this morning means I was able to do today's challenge. There, I'm caught up for one day!

Last night I sat down to look at my photos for the week to start my weekly page. Well, I had one from Thanksgiving dinner, three pictures of appliance model number plates (because I can't read them tiny and around the corner so I take pictures) and one picture of red leaves from one of my walks on the trail. And I've used the Thanksgiving picture for my third November challenge. I decided that one challenge page is enough, and it's going in my yearly book as last week's page. OK, that's done!

David's glaucoma is acting up again and his ophthalmologist says he needs another surgery. David scheduled it for February because of our travel plans, but I would prefer he not put it off that long. So we may decide to cancel January in Florida. We'll know better after he goes into the doctor Wednesday to see if the oral medication is helping or not. It's making him mildly ill, as far as I can tell, though he was warned he might be miserable. I can't get a straight answer out of him as to how he really feels on it, so <<shrug>>

I love reading about everyone's leftovers. I had bought a couple turkey drumsticks before we made plans to go out on Thanksgiving, so I cooked them on Saturday. The advantage to eating leftovers at home without company is you can go all Ren Fair, grab them by the end, and just gnaw, right? :floorlaugh:

Y'all have fun today!

Good Morning.
Its gonna be warm again today as it never froze last night. Heard the rain on the roof most of the night. YUCK!

Ready to party!!! Downloaded the first installment of the beautiful kit. Cant wait to go see what day one challenge is.

Its the first Monday of the month so that means I will clean the appliances and rotate the mattress. All fun and games. Might not get the couches deep cleaned (vacuumed out) but oh well. I will attempt all the normal first Monday stuff since I missed it last month.

Off to look around and see what Buddy is up to today. Have a wonderful day!

Good morning ladies. I am waiting for news on whether Darrell comes home today, tomorrow or stays in hospital for the next 2 wks. We think that he'll come home b/c the hospital is filled over capacity and they need the bed space. It'll suck if he has to return twice a day to the hospital for the IV but the main thing is to get him recovered. They are worried that they won't be able to completely eliminate this nasty bacteria and it will sit in his lungs which will require chronic repeated treatments which will be stressful for his damaged lungs and airways. Poor guy.

I am putting out some Xmas decorations and tidying up the house. I don't want to go out anywhere b/c at any time I could get the call to come get him. The house seems so quiet with him gone b/c he usually blares the TV and his youtube videos. That part I am enjoying LOL. I hate competing noises and have to constantly tell him to pick one or the other but both don't need to be on high volume.

My ear is still plugged but I have to wait another 2.5 wks before the doctor will unplug it. He wants to see if olive oil drops twice a day will eventually work. So far...not at all. I just got baking soda drops from amazon and am going to try that for a few days. I tried hydrogen peroxide but it didn't work and was starting to irritate the skin.

I'm eating a very healthy lunch most days now. I got a spice/nut grinder for the seeds/nuts and prepare steel cut oats every day with raisins, walnuts, flax, chia, cinnamon, peanut butter, blueberries, a bit of monk fruit and a splash of cream and olive oil. I am enjoying it.

@faerywings Sounds like a busy day for you.
@LSlycord enjoy Xmas in Iowa. This year certainly was lots of ups and downs, sure hope 2026 is a happy quiet year for both of us.
@Terri M Sorry to hear that David's glaucoma has worsened. Hope it doesn't interfere with your holiday plans but of course health comes first, as we sure know here in our household. With Darrell's ongoing conditions we never know if plans will work out.
@AK_Tracy rotating the mattress...yikes...I haven't done that in about a year. I should get that done.

I'm going to go check out the forum and gallery before getting dressed and getting Remi out for a short walk. HAGD everyone.

Good idea to put the daily download here. I'm sure more people read this thread than comment.
So, are you talking about Christmas Cookie baking for your "cookie-menu"?
I hope Gary's eyesight is OK. They keep check on Mark's since he has diabetes.

Good afternoon!
I hope all of December is not going to be as busy as today has been already!
Up at 8:15. Made my coffee.
Put the second load of dishes from yesterday into the dishwasher after emptying the first load.
Swept the kitchen and dining room floors.
Washed off both kitchen and dining room tables.
Shoved dining room table back against the wall.
Wiped down the kitchen sink/counter/stove area.
Turned on self-cleaning oven.
Refilled the bird feeder and put out a new column of feed.
Started a load of towels and table cloths.
Threw wash load into dryer.
Took mail to the road mailbox.
Took church deposit to bank.
Picked up Mark's prescription at CVS.
Came back home to put the prescription in the fridge (Ozempic has to be refrigerated).
Pulled tablecloth out of dryer and put back on table to straighten (I hate ironing!)
Left again to pick up Mark and go to lunch at Mamma Mia's.
Back home, folded towels, etc from dryer and put away.
And now it is computer time!
Finished my Day 30 for November and need to get that posted.
Figured out my CT count as best as I could.
Still need to work on the monthly email letter/postcards to send the widows' group tomorrow.
WOW! I'm having problems with my EHD drive again! I was hoping the Solid State one would be OK for more than a year! I had to unplug it from my MAC and run it through the Samsun laptop to "fix" whatever problem it is having with the MAC! I'm beginning to think it is a problem with the MAC! GRRR! I don't even want to have to reload my kits from the shop again! Plus loose my pages created this year! Fortunately, I just had a bunch printed off up through the first part of November! I may need to just switch to the other laptop and see how it works!
Off to deal with the aggravation! :rollingpin1::stupicpc::furious:
