Happy Monday, Dear Ooos!
I hope that everyone had a fantastic weekend. Are you rested and ready to go? I think I am ;)
Although, now that I think about it, I don't feel very rested. I am now waking up every night around 2.15 am whether the dogs have me up or not. Seems to take me forever to get back to sleep.

My weekend was mostly puttering inside and then a bit outside. Absolutely nothing exciting happened. I guess that is good especially after the week I had with the babies. hehe. And with ACDSee, however, that lasted (is lasting) way more than a week. I got the darn program running again (can't remember if I mentioned it crashed again on Saturday) and finished scrapping a page from the Christmas In July party. Talk about being stressed out while scrapping, I felt like I was racing against the clock to get it done before it crashed again.

I am off to visit with BFF today. My friend and I are heading down together to float in her pool. It looks to be the perfect day for that so I am pretty excited! I think my niece and nephew will be at work today so I won't get to see them and I am pretty sure that my nephew is going back to school in Pittsburgh in a couple of weeks. He always goes sooner than most of them. Cait starts on Sept 1 and is anxious about it already :(

Hope that everyone has a fantastic day!

Kay- so sorry to hear that the air is so bad. Just those two days that we had it here it was awful, cannot imagine it all summer.

@tanteva aren't Docs the best? I don't wear mine as much either for two reasons- my orthotics don't fit as well as in my sneakers and I don't go anywhere. hahaha!!! It stinks getting old and boring! Caitlyn is also shorter than you- she is 5' unless he is wearing her boots with big heels

@felis hope that you gave your cats some extra snuggles on their holiday! Give some from me too, please.
Sorry that your phone's camera isn't working that well. The only thing I can suggest would be to make sure the lens is clean and check your settings for focus and flash.
Sending hugs and positive thoughts to your family- I am sad to hear it is a difficult time for you.

@Cherylndesigns Back in the day (I use that phrase a LOT! ha!) I used to have so many pairs of boots, one of the benefits of working at a shoe store. Loved all kinds. Sorry, just not cowboy boots, I would have gotten some strange looks in NJ. However, there was a trend when I was in Elementary school- maybe 1978, 79? where they were very popular and I had a pair. It was after the clogs trend. I wonder if a movie had come out at that point? When was Urban Cowboy released? I Googled it- 1980. Maybe my years were off?
At any rate! If they are comfy, that is what counts

Eva- Oh my!! That is funny(ish) about your sister's ex. What an *** !

Today I'm celebrating 600 days of Mindfulness. Really stupid to notice, really, since one of the things I try to work with, is to not measure everything by numbers. It was Tiny Buddha that shared a quote on Facebook once (when I still was on social media) that I've been inspired by.

"In a society that has you counting money, pounds, calories, and steps, be a rebel and count your blessings instead."
~Lisa Heckman

It's not easy - especially when you actually NEED to lose weight for health reasons, but any way - it's food for thought.

To celebrate, I did a layout about my meditation journey for the AnnaLift Challenge.

Plans for today:
- scrap some more
- maybe read a chapter or two in my book
- heat up some leftover tofu and make some glass noodles for dinner (and frying up some fish fingers & potatoes for John)
- watch the last 2 episodes of The 100
- get to bed early ... tomorrow we're going to IKEA!

Wow... yesterday the smoke here made it the worst air quality in the US! No wonder I was coughing when I was outside. It is still smoky today so glad I don't have to go out. Went to church service yesterday but had leave after 40 minutes as the back went into bad spasms while I was sitting. Back home and on the massaging unit again off and on all afternoon. Ended up napping some then watch the Steel Magnolias DVD before heading to bed early.

Over the past several days, I have been slowly getting things ready for the Farewell to my Red Hat Chapter lunch tomorrow. Glad I was able to do it a bit at a time. It is a brown-bag lunch and the vice-queen is getting the cupcakes for dessert. I need to get the ice tea made today along with the salad for myself today - everything else is done.

Hope to be able to work on some challenge LOs this week. CYL

Hello all.

Chris @faerywings it would have been Heaven to work in a shoe store. I'd never have any salary to take home. I think you're right about the Urban Cowboy influence. Who didn't want to be Sissy??? We went to Gilly's shortly after that was filmed there and it was SO cool just to be standing in that place! What a fabulous movie! You mentioned clogs - I was also a clog girl! I still love them and have a few pairs of them. My favorite pair of clogs EVER had studs all the way around the wooden sole (picture it). Man, were they cool and I could march in a parade in them - that's how comfy they were. I wore them until they fell apart.

Chris, have an awesome day floating and talking and laughing. I'm jealous.

One time a group of us went to a professional gold match and I walked 18 holes in those clogs! Funny memories, huh???

Kay, @BrightEyes that smoke must be horrible! I remember the first time I went to LA - my eyes burned the whole time I was there. I think it's better now, but smoke is so hard on our eyes. Good thing you can stay indoors.

Felis @felis I'll try to get pics this week.

Have a good Monday everybody.

Hi everyone. I've been busy with CT stuff and life, everything is good. I think we've finally dealt with everything since the internet/phone provider change and although its been a hassle, it is done and I'm ok with the switch. There are a few things that bug me but there are a few cool things about it too. I'm loving my new phone, the iphone 12 pro max, it takes great photos for a camera phone. Life is busy with the dogs but fun. D is talking about retiring in December so that will make life different around here. I'll work for the next year and see how I feel at that point. I don't get online to chitchat as much anymore, as the other things in life take up more of my time but do think about you all.
@faerywings Give C a hug from me, sorry to hear she is feeling stressed about school.Enjoy the swim today.

Earlier people were asking about shows to binge on. We started Manifest on Netflix last week and can't stop watching. It is about an airplane that disappears during a flight through a storm and returns 5 years later but the passengers think it is the same time they left. Really worth watching. It has us guessing what will happen next and what is causing the strange occurrences.

Dang! Sounds great, but it's not on Netflix here in Sweden. Seems to be on HBO Nordic. I just wish I could afford all the streaming in the world. LOL We finished The 100 yesterday, and are looking for something new.

No trip to IKEA today. The cats took shifts this night and kept waking us up. Both puking & just tearing the house in pieces. Have no idea what was wrong with them. Anyroads, we decided to stay home today. Especially for Urban, it's important that he isn't tired, since he's doing the driving. IKEA is about 1 hr away, so it's not that long drive, but anyway. Better safe than sorry. It's not that fun strolling round IKEA not being tip top anyway.
