CHEERY O
hello hellloO!
Three days in a row that we did not need the AC on downstairs. I love the fresh air and the quiet with no AC running. I like that almost as much as not stressing over the electricity use.
How was your weekend?
I had a pretty good mix of getting stuff done and downtime. I can't ask for more than that. I got my "first draft" of my grocery order done. Everyone will add something else to the list after I submit the order. Or I realize that we ran out of something, it makes it nice to go back and edit it even if that screws it up occasionally. I also wrote the first draft of the forest bathing script. I am heading to work this morning to do a walk-through. I'll take note of how long it takes me to get from one spot to the next so I have a general idea of the flow.
This afternoon, I'll be getting my stuff together for the trip down the shore tomorrow. Caitlyn, Tom, and I are picking my mom up to hit the beach for a few hours. So much driving, but worth it. I only made it down one day last year and it might be the only time I get down this year, too. My mom mentions that she would like to go down for a night or two in Sept/Oct, like we used to. But aside from mentioning it passing, I am not sure if she still wants too- she keeps saying that she doesn't know if she can leave my dad. She has to feel comfortable so I am letting her take the lead.

I have been very happy having the bird feeder back up. If I only could get the mourning doves to share. They are feeder-hogs. One of them was pecking at another if he got too close. The pecked at one would take off with its scream-wings, get closer, and then get pecked at again. Yesterday we saw the widest variety: downy/red-bellied woodpeckers, chickadees, song and chipping sparrows, blue jays, house and gold finches, cardinals (two juveniles in different stages of molting-- very funny!), titmouse, and nuthatches. And hummingbirds, too! I was so glad that they didn't forget me when my feeder was down for so long :p

Sending you lots of love today!
:loveangel:

Yesterday was overcast all day with rain off and on so the temperature stayed cool all day. At 5pm it was only 74 degrees!
Since it was rainy, Mark's friend didn't come. We played games in between Mark working on his chicken and dumplings and between my loads of laundry. I got all the extra stuff washed and put away besides mine and Mark's regular clothes for the week. I recently changed the curtains in the bedrooms to blackout curtains so I washed the old ones. And my DD recently gave me some clothes she couldn't wear so I washed all but the winter stuff and hung it in my closet. So now I have my laundry baskets clear again.
Chicken and dumplings are perfect for the cooler weather. That's too bad that his friend didn't come over. But-- more for you to enjoy! Also feels like a good time to catch up on the laundry- even if it is at the expense of scrap time.
I hope that you and Mark are both feeling much better today!

DD#3 came over yesterday afternoon for a visit. It was so nice to have both daughters here chatting and laughing. If all goes well, DD#1 will be heading home next weekend. She will be at her son's most of this week so I will be getting back into my 'normal' routine soon. I will miss having her here but her family has been missing her a lot.
Big hugs to you, I know you are going to miss having DD#1 with you. Although if the past is any indicator, you will have family coming to visit often. Maybe not as long, but you always seem to have company for a few days every month. ♥
It is a 2007 one running Windows 7 and Works. :wow2:
I hope you knocked wood and tossed salt over your shoulder so you didn't jinx yourself Hahah!!

Its a clear shot to the lake and they think we put the path (drive) in just for them :floorlaugh: And the side of the house, where my bedroom is, they think we cleared out the trees for them to wander down and planted little apple trees just for them to mow down.
:rotfl:
I love the story of how your DS plants the apple seeds/. Do/will they produce fruit?
Do you remember the kidney beans I sprouted for HS? That plant is still chugging along, with more bean pods. I don't know what to do with them! If I harvest them, I might have 10 beans by now. In another year, I might have the same amount if I bought a bag at the grocery store. ;)
Hope that you had a nice day and enjoyed the weather!

I need to go look for my recipe for nutella dip for apples and grapes. Almost forgot about that. So....I guess that means I'd better get off the computer.
That dip sounded good, do you have the recipe handy?

:hug3:

Good Morning!
It must be Monday, its quiet in here.

I love the story of how your DS plants the apple seeds/. Do/will they produce fruit?
Chris I have no idea what will happen. Right now its just growing and growing and who knows if we will ever get apples. The store bought ones do/can produce crab apples but the home grown from seed we aren't sure about yet. But those apple seedlings/trees are his babies. I swear he take better care of them than his dog. Not really but he does baby the trees.

Yesterday was nice and quiet. Finished scrapping personal LO. I'm all caught up again which is nice. I love the challenges offered this month but I am having a hard time executing them. Two I have tried, and thrown away the projects cause they were so bad. I think I can count on one had the number of LO I've totally trashed and two were this weekend alone. My ideas and photos are just not working with me. I'll keep plugging away at the challenges and hopefully have something worth posting this week. Today is laundry and first of month stuff like rotate the bed and clean the appliances. Better fuel up with more coffee. Have a wonderful day!

Quick in and out this morning. Popped in long enough to comment on my Template challenge.

I feel like I am running behind on the challenges... but then have to remind myself that it is only Aug 4th.... For some reason it seems later in the month to me. I took a PJ day yesterday... just vegged and read the day away. DD#1 and son dropped by in late afternoon so she could pick up some more clothes. (Most of her stuff is here at my house.) They had gone to the movies and were on their way back to his house. Luckily he only lives a couple of miles from mine. She plans to spend Thursday night here before heading home.

Off to get my shower and dressed. Then need to do a few chores around the house. Have 'get a haircut' on the list for some time this week. HAGD

It is so amazingly lovely to have the air conditioner off, and the windows open, and to not dread stepping outside! The forecast has us in the 70s all week, except 82 today, and I'm looking forward to more outdoors time. We biked 20 miles, a good part of it up the mountain, on Saturday, and had lunch at a winery. I actually had to wear a windbreaker. And this morning's ride was just a delight.

I sent a package to my daughter last week, forgetting they were leaving Saturday for a 2 week vacation. I got the notification that the package was delivered yesterday, complete with the picture of it on their doorstep. But when my sister-in-law went over to retrieve it, it was gone. The neighbors had noticed it and, knowing the kids were gone, took it in. Such great neighbors!

On Saturday morning our next door neighbors had a birthday party for their little boy turning 2. I suppose it was at 9am because it's been so hot this summer. They arranged for the local fire company to send out a truck and spray the kids with their hoses. It was so fun to watch the little ones play in the truch. Thank goodness, though, they weren't allowed to do the horn or siren!

I didn't do any challenges in July because of having the grandkids stay with us half the month. But I'm going to pop over there now and see what I can manage for this month.

Sounds like you have all of the same birds we have. Yes, those young cardinals look funny while molting! Ugly, too! Maybe I should try putting my hummingbird feeder back up to see if they are hanging around somewhere.

We had headaches most of the day yesterday, but feeling better today. Mark kept the excedrin going and I kept the Tylenol going.

Good afternoon,
The day got away from me today.
Got up at 8. Fixed my coffee and settled in at the computer to work on a page for Anna's Lift challenge.
Didn't get it finished but got ready to leave by 9 to make the bank deposit for the church and to run an item to Staples to return to Amazon. By the time I got back to the house it was almost time to leave again to go to lunch with Mark. Finished the AnnaLift page after I got back and posted it. I need to go do some commenting on the other pages for the challenge and check on some others. Leftovers for supper tonight, so that is covered! Scrapping the afternoon away is what it will be!
Have a great afternoon/evening!
