The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
yes, it feels like Autumn is here. Chilly! Very chilly. (boo)
I have this weird feeling, I am not sure if I can put it into proper words. Usually, September has that "new year" feeling, flipping the calendar, starting fresh. I am getting undercurrents of that feeling. I have the urge to get my house organized, my desk/office ready for the new year. But then I have the very conflicting feeling of "why?"It isn't like anything is changing other than Caitlyn will be locked in her for her remote classes and "office hours" for her internship. That is going to be strange. I am used to barging into her room all day long - I knock first, always- but still... I go in to chat with her, play with the babies. Now, it is going to be strange knowing that she and the rats are in there but are off-limits Bwuhahah!
I also have that feeling that summer was supposed to be a downtime and it was but wasn't really. And again, not like anything is really changing. Bottom line is that I have the traditional urge of back to school but there are no external circumstances why.
How is that for a mind-bendy therapy session from me? ha!

The visit with my parents was good. My mom looks the best she has in a long time. She sees the cardiologist today and the nephrologist on Wednesday. She told me that her kidney levels were a 9 in the hospital and I made the mistake of Googling what exactly that meant. I knew that it was bad but I think seeing it in black and white shook me up a bit. A 9 is End-Stage Renal Failure. She is damn lucky that she isn't in dialysis. We are planning on meeting for an outside lunch one day soon. Might as well do that before it gets too cold. NJ is allowing indoor dining starting tomorrow but I don't think either of us is ready for that.

This afternoon Caitlyn and I are taking the rats up for a check-up at the vet. They all have been sneezing on and off. Since Tat died from a respiratory infection she takes no chances with that. Sneezing is common for rats but if it moves into their lungs, they can take a turn very quickly. That is later this afternoon. This morning I have end/beginning of the month Cheery O things I need to do. They have been on my To-Do list for days now but I have no choice to do them today. I also need to finalize my shopping list. Gary got Rxs for bloodwork to check on gluten antibodies and pancreas function from his Lyme Dr. He has to start eating gluten again before he gets that done so meals should be a bit easier to plan for now.
I will take it!

What things are on your to-do list today? Hope only fun things!
xoxo

Nancy- great news about the pets, I knew they were in good hands :D It was mostly chilly up here, when the sun was out it was perfect, but the clouds made it feel very cold. I am freezing right now even wearing lots of layers. Seeing the Mediterranean has to be a gorgeous backdrop. We are watching Warrior Nun which takes place on Spain's coast and it makes me want a vacation there some day. Anywhere other than the US would be nice for the next few months.:?:twitch:
Hope that all of the hockey games were exciting last night.

hugs to everyone!

good morning - the last day of August. I guess summer is over at least the weather says so mostly cloudy an temp right now is 68 degrees. Darn that is too cold for me. The hockey was exciting. Tonight's games are elimination games so should be fun to see if the teams can hold on or if their season's are over. The TdF is good too but it is 2020 so even in this race strange things are happening. This rider was just talking to his team car when his tire punctured and he hit the car and broke his collar bone. Such a freak accident. Got another scrap page done so that is good. Finished the show I was watching In to the Dark. It was the cliff hanger of season two so I am guessing there will be a season three. Just when they think their problems are behind them nope! It was a fun show, dark but kept me interested.

Chris I know what you mean about Sept and change coming. As long as my DH continues to teach it will always be the start of a new school year. I was talking to my neighbor and she is feeling the same way. Her sons are freshman in college (staying local) and a senior in college but all of his classes virtual including his internships. But he is on campus as he is an RA. She said their are over 400 less student on campus. Not surprised if the classes are virtual. It was good to catch up and talk to another adult, for both of us LOL. Glad you had a nice visit with your parents and that your mother is looking so well.

Trudy sorry about the Bruins. I guess that Tuuka could not really be replaced. I do understand his leaving, family does come first! Hope you had a nice weekend.

Kay hope the wind is gone and temps have gotten more reasonable.

Felis an Jean waving!

Have a great day!

Morning, gals. Hope all of you had a good weekend. Have got to stop reading until O'dark-thirty as then I end up sleeping in. Got hooked on one of the freebie books from the library - 'Seeing Red' by Sandra Brown. Only a quarter way through but had enough sense to put it down just after midnight.

Tomorrow is a teleconference on Zoom with my Endocrinologist.. it is just a 'touch base' with him as he looks over my lab reports. Need to check My Chart today to make sure I know how to get to the Zoom chat room on time.

Had a nice family chat yesterday afternoon. Got to watch DSon#2 as he directed traffic for a 'drive-in movie' in a parking lot that his church was sponsoring. DSon#1 told us his rental house (So Cal) sold and will close early in September. Was only on the market less than a week. So glad it went quickly for him. DD#2 got the word that she could work from home no matter where she lives.... so they are putting their house on the market and will be moving as soon as it sells. They live in the suburbs of Chicago and have been wanting to move for the past few years. Hoping that she has as good a luck as DS#1 and DD#1 and it sells quickly.

Woke up to blue skies and no smoke haze!!! Not sure that we won't have any more high winds later today so will leave the patio swing sitting down on the ground for at least another day or so. Suppose to have another front come though later on today so no point in putting it back in place. Still going up in to the 90's for a couple more days. This has been the hottest August on record here. Would like to have some of the cooler weather heading our way soon.

Chris, wish you could sending your autumn weather our way. Sorry the cold is bothering you so much. Yes, so glad to see August is ending... and keeping fingers crossed that Sept will be better for all. Glad to hear your mom is looking better. Keeping her in my thoughts.

Nancy, sounds like you have autumn weather, too. Glad you have your hockey and racing to watch.

Cheryl, hope your stuff has arrived and you can get moved in and settled soon.

Need to go close the house up and get another cup of coffee. CYL

Good morning everyone! I was MIA for the entire weekend! It was another busy one, lots of projects keeping both DH and myself occupied. I ended up finishing my Jelly making on Sunday and now have 20 jars of blackberry jelly. I will be shipping a few jars out to Heather and Jason, they love to get my homemade jelly! I have lots of bags of frozen blackberries for pies too. My nails are still purple from working with all those berries LOL. So I feel like I spent the entire day in my kitchen. No housework got done so that is on my list of things to do today. I did manage to get all of my :washing: done though, also got my on-line shopping picked up on Saturday and got everything that I wanted so the was nice! Finally just before supper last night, I turned on my computer and quickly did a few things at the O that I have been putting off, but that went very quickly. Too bad my scrapping could not go as quickly as that LOL. The weather is cool here today too and yesterday we got a much needed rain. The temps will get warmer as the week progresses and lots more sunshine on the way too, so September will start off in a good way!

Chris - Yes it must seem so strange to see the Calendar change and really nothing else changes with it! I can understand how you must be feeling, everyone should be heading back to classes and life should be returning to our old normal, but that is not happening this year  Glad that you had a good visit with your parents and yes a outdoor picnic sounds like a great idea to do while the weather is still nice enough to do it! September is usually the month when I start to get panicky about my calendar making, but this year it doesn't even seem important to me. I haven't taken any photos of the grands and I haven't gotten too many sent to me either. I will have to make due with what I did get from Jackie when the kids were all together in July. Hope all goes well at the Vets this afternoon! So happy to hear that your Mom is doing so well!!

Nancy - Yes it is a shame that the Bruins lost Tuka, but hey family is first right? I can't see them coming back and winning to move on. Oh well maybe next year?? LOL Who knows what next year will be like. :noidea: Sure wish that the officials would call the same penalties for both teams though! Yikes that was a freakish accident for that poor rider! How terrible for him! Could you please send me some of scrapping mojo, mine has been MIA for a long spell!! Enjoy the hockey tonight, I think it will be a sad night in our house  But you never know LOL.

Kay - You have had a busy couple of days!! Your family chat sounded awesome! Where will your DD#2 move to if the house sells? Will they move closer to you? That would be nice for you! Glad that you are enjoying your new freebie book, but ya you gotta stop reading so late LOL. How lovely to not have the smoke anymore Horray!!

Hi to Jean, Felis and Cheryl

Ok I have put off posting this as Heather and Boys called and they have kept me busy for over an hour. I better get into the shower and get dressed. I hope you all have a wonderful Monday!
