Happy Monday and new week! I am looking at the positive things today.

[Anything out there?]

I spent 99.999999999999999999999 of my weekend fighting with ACDSee and looking for another program to replace it. And guess what?? No luck! I downloaded a free trial of Eagle- but it was nothing close to what I needed. I also installed XnViewMP which seems similar to ACDSee, but not really, but might have to do. The only problem is that I am also going to have to start from scratch and if I do that, then it makes more sense to start with a new version of ACDSee. Or no??
this is what I need:

I am just *grumbles and grrrs and blerghs*

Happy Monday anyway, have some coffee

Quick personals and then I am off to reboot my computer and start with a(nother) clean install of the &%$#% program

@Betty Jo Oh jeez, between you and your son, I hope that you are both feeling better!
Do you have any local organizations that will pick up donations? We have AmVets and Market Street Mission that will come and get your items if they are placed curbside. I am not sure if that is possible for you but something to look into perhaps.

@BrightEyes what a fascinating genealogy find with the name of your grandfather and photos
be careful with yourself as you move al of the boxes of photos around and start scanning-- but that is really exciting to be working on. Good catch for DSs photo with wife #1

@vickyday as soon as it isn't stifling in the attic I want to start to scan the old pics I have when the kids were little. But oh yeah, no point in doing that if I can't use my organizing software. grrrrrrrrr!!!!
(Whoops. Sorry 'bout that.)

@Cherylndesigns hahah, must have felt weird that nothing kooky happened when you were out with the girls LOL
How was Game night?

@vickyday no idea what a bush hog is either but I think I have a general idea. It doesn't sound like a lot of fun when it is hit and humid
That is too funny, Pt Pleasant is about 5 beach towns past Belmar/15 minutes (no traffic). That is neat that he would look for coins so he could buy his hotdogs :D
gah! you had BIG babies!! Ouch!

xoxo

Sorry you are still having problems with that program! How frustrating!
The bush hog attaches to a tractor. The bed of it is pretty wide, so it makes quick work of chopping stuff down. But it is still a hot job.
Ha! I wondered how close Pt. Pleasant was and if you were familiar with it's location.
Yeah! I had big babies, but the Lord blessed me with easy deliveries....3-3 1/2 hours! First 3 all natural. 4th with an epidural as the doctor tied my tubes after I delivered, LOL!

@faerywings I forbid you to put any dates out there that say September. Absolutely serious that we must stop with August. Even if August has 260 days this year!

Last work of week...at least for awhile. Going to be crazy busy but I can push through! It's cloudy and looks like rain...and there may be stuff brewing in the tropics. So there's that. I need to check my hurricane preparedness kit! Ugh.

Good morning, everyone!
Hope everyone had a great weekend! Mark and I took a bike ride yesterday afternoon to a park about 45 minutes away. We stopped and picked up KFC and ate at the park in front of the lake. But, it was hot and humid, so we ate, visited the bathroom and hopped back on the bike to head back home as we cooled off!
Gotta get busy and get some errands done!
Have a great day!

Morning, all. Woke up to sunny skies again this morning. More hot air balloons in the skies this morning. That always puts a smile on my face when I see them. It is still 5 weeks until the annual Albuquerque International Balloon Festival. Hoping the weather cooperates so it goes well. My sister will be on a tour and they will be here for 2 days of it... looking forward to seeing her again. She is even talking about maybe coming over to visit me on Thanksgiving. DD#3 made it back home from her visit with DD#1 late Friday night. I am ready to say goodbye to August... and look forward to seeing September arrive. Several trees have leaves turning already so they say that fall is on the way. This has been such a crazy year weather-wise.

No plans for today... just taking it easy. Tomorrow will be a trip to the library to return books. Friday and Sat is the local library DVD/Book quarterly book sale. Which reminds me that I need to repair the big bag I take with me for it. Some of the stitches on the binding have come loose.

@faerywings so sorry you are still having problems with that software!!! I was tempted to get it several years ago but the thought of having to tag all the scrapping kits seemed overwhelming... I hear your frustration with it - especially since you are used to using it when you scrap.

@vickyday Happy you and the hubby had a 'picnic' with KFC but sorry it was so hot and humid.

@LSlycord Hope this last week of work goes smoothly for you. Don't like to hear of tropical storms brewing but you are wise to have your hurricane kit prepared. Sending good wishes for the trip plans to work out.

Happy Monday OOZIES!

Chris @faerywings I'm sorry you're having trouble with your blankety blank blank ACDC again! What a pain in the wazoo!! I've never used that program, but you've really been having problems with it. Darn it, we didn't have Game Night. Roger's son was there, and I guess it threw off our dynamics. It was lively anyway = everybody was in a crazy mood. We're a loud bunch. Sometimes I think Chuck is happy that he can't hear very well. My dad used to be the same way - he was happy in his own little world. He couldn't hear all the time we were growing up. I think he liked it that way, when we were all loud.

I got one more Designer Challenge done after we got home last night. I'll try to jump back on and see who posts updates here in a bit. I'm about half awake at this point. I slept like a rock last night. Didn't wake up at all until just a few minutes ago. Chris @faerywings I took some pics of my jars of herbs last night, so when I get them transferred to my computer, I'll post them for you.

Vicky @vickyday good to see you dropping in again and Linda @LSlycord one more week! You can do it.

I get so focused on the challenges and the gallery that I completely forget about the forum through the month! But since I got all of the challenges done and more, I was looking for something else to do and remembered this thread, LOL!

Morning ladies... A quick in and out of here this morning for me again! I am off to the ocean to do some kayaking with SIL Linda and her friend Rena. It would be so great if we got to see some seals or Orca's today! Then I'm pretty sure we will be going for lunch somewhere. On my way home I will stop in Chemainus and see if I can replace the wine glass that I broke. It was a gift for my birthday a few years back and it has beautiful painting on it. I need to get dressed and get out the door, we want to get on the water early before the wind picks up. I will pop in later on as I have lots of catching up to do after our busy weekend. Just wanted to say hi to you all and hope that you have a great day!!

Good morning everyone. I have been in bed, sleeping mostly. I have covid lung and breathing is so difficult and draining. I have been isolating on the 3rd floor and Jen is isolating in her apartment downstairs. Her lungs haven't been affected but she has had extreme fatigue/fogginess and has also slept for 5 days. Luckily, D is not showing any signs of it.

The killer headache is gone and no fever. My breathing is bad I can't talk for more than a few minutes without being winded and dizzy. I try to do the breathing exercises as much as I can and try to walk around for a few minutes to start building up stamina and loosen my muscles. I feel I am over the worst of this but it looks like its going to take awhile to get my lung capacity back up to par.

I hope to be able to sit at my desk a bit now each day but it's going to take time to build up strength and tolerance. I have been having a hard time breathing as I type this and I am now utterly exhausted. I'm going back to bed. I'll be back tomorrow, hopefully a little bit stronger.

Oh, it sounds terrible, Rae. Sending hugs to you and Jen and positive vibes that D won't get it. Take care of yourself and we'll be thinking of you.

Kay I'd love to see that balloon festival! I'm so intrigued with hot air balloons. When we lived in Michigan, we were in the flight path of so many balloon crossings. They'd see us down in our yard waving and lower their balloons so we could say hello. I've always wanted to go up in one, but it doesn't look like that's ever going to happen now. :(

@bcgal00 - so sorry that your lungs are affected. I guess I missed the post about Jen also getting Covid. Sending healing thought to both of you. Sure hope your DH doesn't get it.

Been another day of 'discovery' over my mom's dad's name!!!! As I mentioned - he died before she was born. I finally found the bin with Mom/Dad's papers in them this morning. I have been looking for them since Sis had called. I was sure from the note on the back of his photo that he was a Sr...(as they had a son named Herbert Charles) but no... that wasn't right. I found a family tree in my own Wedding album listing his name as 'Ernest Herbert' but since mom's step-dad who raised her was named 'Ernest' I was sure I had written it down wrong. Found mom's birth certificate and his name on it is "Herbert Ernest Carman" and was attested to by her mom - who should know her husband's name! ! !:rolleyes:o_O No wonder there was so much confusion over his name. But the upshot is that both Sis and I have been digging through family papers and have ran across lots of photos, papers, etc that we had forgotten either of us had. So we will be copying things for each other so that more than person has the photos/information/family-history. What a wild ride it has been since Sis asked that simple question! #crazybut #kiss3
