It is really starting to feel like back to school times. Both kids had friends over yesterday for and end of summer gathering. It must be weird for them to have friends leaving while they are staying. Caitlyn has been cracking me up- she has gone back to school clothes shopping with my mom, did some school supplies shopping online, and has her bag packed, pencils sharpened, etc. I joked that for someone who usually hates school, she adores the prep for it.

My brain knows that it needs to get more organized too, but as of this moment, it doesn't want to cooperate at all. Another night of not sleeping, although I think I figured out a bit of the "Why." I was sleeping so well, when jaida started barking around midnight, which startled me awake, then my heart rate just would not go down. I think the adrenaline burst does me in and my body has a hard time settling back. I know that I did fall asleep because at one point I dreamed of baby cows that were green and brown, like the colors of a male mallard duck.

I know that I need more coffee, anyone want to join me with a :cof1:

Nancy- what is your trick to getting Luther to walk so long??? Jaida is really such stubborn puppy and i want to be able to go that long (Ok- not an hour but more than 10 minutes would be nice. hehe!!). Good for him not chasing after the deer.
Something good must have been in their air with hubs helping with the house- Gary vacuumed the downstairs for me yesterday too.

Rae- looks like a fab shopping trip, clothes and $5 frames. Hope you were able to make it home with no traffic. Is it Labor Day or a long weekend next weekend in CA too?
That is our "official" end of summer season but I never want it to end.
i was able to scrap a bit but everything is just all blocked up!

Trudy- really a good day for the O-hubs and cleaning. Rain is good after you are a;l done outside. :) Everything here is starting to get dry again, so maybe we will get some soon?

good morning! I am all by myself and I am listening to John Denver. I saw an PBS special on him on Sunday and it made me want to listen to his songs. I listened to him all through college. I learned he wrote the song Leaving on a Jet plane - I did not know that. Good scrapping music. Already got Luther out for his walk and it was a good one. I think the weather is better and he is feeling more adventurous or he just got bored with where we had been walking. As for how do I get him to walk far I don't he just leads. Right now I think he has a scent he following so it is fun to watch him smelling. I woke up on the wrong side of the bed as I was angry at my son all morning. He asked what did he do and I said nothing and that that was the problem. Oh well. I am calm now after the walk and now listening to music. Got scrapping done yesterday. My DH grilled steak and made a corn and bean salad that was delicious and we had our oldest son over as his wife is off in PA. It was fun having all my boys for a good sit-down dinner.

Chris Cait is going to love college so much better than high school. She is selecting courses she wants not what the school board says she has to take so that makes learning so much more fun! So cute how she is arranging her back pack. Awesome of Gary to do some house work. It is good!

Rae sounds like you did great shopping! Good for you. I am terrible at find good deals. Hope you made over the boarder with no problems.

Trudy how sweet the rain must have been after all the work you and your MG did. Good on the bathrooms too.

Morning ladies... the sun is back, but temps are lower, more like the end of August. I slept a bit better with the temps being so nice and cool last night. Not much happening here today, I got all my housework and yard work done so today is mine to spend the way I want. Hopefully I can do some gallery catch-up and perhaps get a page or two done.

Chris - I know it is so hard to believe that August is almost over with. The long weekend here in Canada is typically our official end of summer :hurt: I don't want summer to end just yet!! The leaves are already turning here, perhaps a bit early because of the early spring that we had? Sorry that you did not sleep well last night! That adrenaline rush really upsets the system doesn't it! Hard to get back to sleep after being woken up like that! You have the strangest dreams LOL ! At least you know you dream in technicolour :becky:

Nancy - Oh I just love John Denver! I played his music upstairs in my room for hours and hours on end. I think I drove my Mom nuts with it LOL. I would love to see that special, perhaps I can find it somewhere. Glad that you felt better after your walk, nothing worse than waking up on the wrong side of the bed!! Nancy thank you for your lovely comments on my Snowbirds page! I am off to see what magic you have done with your photos over the weekend!

Rae - We are most likely cross posting, so I hope that you and Taz are having a great morning and are not too bogged down with work today!

Good morning, ladies! I'm heading out the door in a minute to go walk Ava. My back is a bit sore but a hot shower helped. Taz is pawing at my arm as I am typing. He is ready to go LOL. Got my 52 inspirations challenge done this morning and need to go check out the gallery later and see what's everyone has been creating.

Chris - yes, this upcoming wkend is our Labor Day (end of summer) long weekend and am looking forward to going over to our trailer for 4 days. Had to laugh at your dream LOL! Sounds like Cait is organized and ready for school.

Nancy - Leaving On a Jet Plane is an old fave of mine. Hope the crankiness has passed :)

Trudy - enjoy your skype call and enjoy the cooler temps today (I know I am).
