How are all of you this fine Monday Morning? Cold and dry here and I will not complain. The pictures and video coming out of Houston are breaking my heart but some are very heartwarming as well.

How was your weekend? My day yesterday was very quiet. Puttered around a bit, tried to work on a drawing that my SIL asked me to erase/convert some colors. It is a drawing that she wants to have made into T-Shirts for a fundraiser committee that she is working on. It is done in crayon so it has been very hard erasing background and selecting and changing colors to black. One good thing is that I am using a lot of tools that I don't typically use while scrapping, such as the magnetic lasso. I also learned a keyboard shortcut for Fill. Shift F5. Never used that one before, now it is drilled into my head!

Gary and I watched a movie on Netflix in the afternoon, it was that kind of slow day. It was "What Happened to Monday" - a future world with a strict one-child policy and seven sisters being one composite. Rae- I think you would like it a lot. It was much better than I had expected it just based on the trailer.

Today I have to go food shopping in the morning and then I would like to get one of the challenges for MoS done too. Plus some work on this picture for SIL.

Have a super day!

Nancy- poor Luther. Hope his stomach settled a bit. Jaida goes through these bouts of throwing up bile. We and vet think that it is just reflux and it seems to bother her less if I can get her to eat food in the morning. But it still makes me feel so bad for her too.
Hope that baseball and tennis were/are good to watch while you scrap.

Rae- I had wished that I had a laptop to scrap n while I was watching the movie, I have this about not doing "stuff" during the day, but I wouldn't have been able to scrap and watch the movie even if I did.
Sorry to hear that the raccoons came back and annoyed Taz. ;)

Trudy- how fun to spend the day at the beach! Good job on all of that scrapping too!

Jean- I have never microwaved corn, it comes out good? I feel like it would be chewy or gummy. How do you do it?
It feels more like football weather here too. I am not happy about this weather at all! And darn it, I said that wasn't going to complain!

Anyway- I have to start getting ready for ShopRite. YUCK!

hugs to you all!!

good morning - yesterday was a pretty slow day but I spent a lot of time trying to figure out who to select for my fantasy football team. I did a mock draft and I am so glad I did as I figured out how to draft and pre-select who I wanted on my team. It really helped and this year I got a B+ while last year I got a C- so I am happy. Not to see how it goes LOL. There are 12 in our league and we had 15 rounds and the people had one min 30 secs to make their selection so it took a while but luckily most were pretty fast in making the decision. I may have to go back and tweek my team but I am pretty happy. I don't take this too seriously but I want to make sure that I don't give away wins as some of the kids do take this very serious. My DH made a super chicken dinner with eggplant and grilled corn on the cob. Left overs tonight. After the draft there was time to see this year's GoT final. It was pretty good and no spoilers. Did see the Yankees win so that was good. Today is also low key as the boys are back at work. Get more scrapping done.

Chris yes the news from Texas is so sad. After being through Sandy and losing power for 14 days I can feel their pain. And we were so lucky in that we had a generator so we had power. We had a house. This is beyond! Glad you had a calm day. Good luck with the shopping. My DH did ours yesterday and I am so so grateful.

Trudy how fun to spend the day near water when the temps are warm. I am sure the day was fabulous.

Rae wow those raccoons just won't take the hint and leave the trailer. Poor Taz I am sure he was so annoyed. I love my laptop and that is where I do all my scrapping. I loved the Twilight series.

Jean hindsight is 20/20 but I did knew my girlfriend who invited us is not a birder so I knew that was not on her agenda but I did not know that my other girlfriend was a birder but I do know so we can do some birding around NJ. But we should have brought the baby binocs not matter. Love seeing osprey and eagles.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... its going to be another very warm day today. But I am staying home and just going to do some catching up around here and some watering in the garden. A pretty boring day, but that's ok! Yesterday was very nice as we just lazed around in our gravity chairs and enjoyed the beautiful day, had lots of swims, so refreshing! It always brings back so many memories of my childhood as I spent many summers in swimming lessons at this same beach. MIL's sister Marion taught us all how to swim at their beach. She is the one who had a stroke a while back and now is dealing with cancer too. So sad!! It breaks my heart to think that one day this property will be for sale and we will no longer be able to go whenever we like

Chris - Watching all the news about the flooding and the rescues going on. My goodness it is so hard to imagine going through all of this! I hope your food shopping goes well for you today and that you have fun with the next two challenges at MOS! I am going to get started on these today also. That movie you watched sounds like it is good, I will have to check that one out!

Nancy - How great that one of your friends is a birder also! Sounds like you have been one busy lady trying to get your dream team together! Hope you do well with it! We enjoyed Games of Thrones last night also!! You have been one busy scrapper I see! I will check them all out today for sure! Enjoy your quiet day today and I hope that Luther is feeling better today!

Rae - Wasn't the Game of Thrones finale great!! Now we have to wait one more time to see how it all really ends! Darn Racoons!! Don't they make the most horrible noise when they are out in the bush! Taz must have been going nuts LOL. Hope your wait was not long at the border crossing! Guess you will be busy with your work again this morning! Hope you enjoyed your time at the trailer though!

Jean - Love seeing the eagles and osprey! We are fortunate to see them often here, some days the eagles fly right by kitchen window, so beautiful!! Cooking corn in the Microwave is the best way to do it! Its the only way I cook it now as I usually only cook one ear for DH as I no longer eat corn.

Well I better get going with my day and hit the shower and get dressed. Hopefully hearing form DD and Hunter today as Mason will be in pre-school today. Had a wonderful talk with them all on Saturday, Mason showed off his new shoes he got for school in September and a new Transformer that he got for being such a good boy lately. So cute  Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning, ladies. Loved Game of Thrones last night but sad that it's over for the season. Before GOT, we watched Guardians of the Galaxy Pt 2 and loved it. Such silly humor yet so funny. So I didn't get any desk work done yesterday which means today will be super busy but it was worth it to spend some time with hubs and just relax watching shows we love. Awhile back I found a pinterest idea for a scarf holder and ordered online. Yesterday before the movie we put the behind-the-door shoe rack together, I got some metal hooks to attach to the bars and threaded all my scarves thru the rings. It covers most of the back of the door in the spare bedroom and now holds all my scarves (70 of them). I had more but when Taz was a pup he destroyed (chewed) about 20 of them. I organized by color group so now its easy to see how many I have in what colors. I still have room to add to the collection too but seeing how many I have I can't imagine I will be buying too many more. But...I do love scarves LOL.

Darrell is being kind of pigheaded about calling the guy to set up our IPTV (we need a new provider) and don't know why but sometimes men are just weird, right? So it looks like I might need to try it myself which is unlikely to work b/c I'm not good with setting up the android stuff but I should be able to bring it to our guy and he can program it for us. One other really good thing happened yesterday. When I popped into the dollar store yesterday to get the hooks for the scarf rack, I popped into Walmart next to it, to see if they got the winter jacket I had found last year at W really cheap on sale. It had turned out to be my fave jacket to wear dog walking (just above the knee, a nice felt lining, tailored at the waist and water proof with a hood in a nice green color). I was so sad to drop it off at the consignment store last wkend but it was just way too big to wear this year. I've popped into the store numerous times, hoping they would get that style in again but had no luck until yesterday when they had a small rack with the jackets and luckily had one in a medium (my old one had been an XL). Yay, I was so happy to find it. I didn't get it on sale unfortunately but it was still pretty cheap and the main thing is I got a great jacket for dog walking. I should take a pic of it and do a page about my dog walking clothes.

I saw the last two MOS challenges and the eclectic one will be easy for me but the other will require a bit of thinking and probably will be one of the most difficult for me. The time has flown by quickly and I can't believe we are on the last 2. It's been fun.

Chris - good luck converting the picture. I wrote down the movie title b/c yes, it does sound like something I would like. Thx.

Nancy - Chris is right about the dog reflux. Taz has that and I had to start feeding him a bit more often with smaller meals. He wasn't a morning eater before so I had to start enticing him with a bit of wet dog food (kibble just wasn't appealing to him in the morning when he wasn't very hungry) and now he almost never gets sick. I give him a small amount of wet in the early morning, a bit in the afternoon and then his regular dinner. This seems to have worked great for him. I probably don't need to give the mid day feeding but since we always struggle to get enough nutrients into him, this is good for him but most dogs wouldn't require the extra feeding.

Trudy - yes, I was transfixed to the TV watching GOT last night. Enjoy some FaceTime if you get it with the family today. So cute about Mason showing off his new shoes and he must have been so proud to show off his Transformer reward.

Hope everyone else is having a good day. I need to get to work now.

Today we finally got it together to get pix for our passport renewals and mailed them in. Don't know that we'll go anywhere, but birding in Canada (at Niagara Falls in November) used to be a big treat we enjoyed. Also Iceland Air announced direct service to Reykjavik will start in May. Tantalizing! I've long sworn off flying, but that might be tempting.

Chris, what a nice day yesterday sounds for you and DH. For the corn, happy to see Trudy agrees. I've turned a friend onto it with this link: http://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/the_easiest_way_to_microwave_corn_on_the_cob/ but you can find videos and everything online. I sometimes have an ear for lunch instead of bread, etc. and DH doesn't eat a cooked lunch. Of course this is only for those of use not eating keto.

Nancy, hope your fantasy football team does well. We have never gotten into that but know people who take it either seriously or at least pay a lot of attention to their standings.

Trudy, a day at home sounds novel for you these days. Hope it is nice and not too hot (here at least it isn't as chilly today.) Can imagine it is bittersweet knowing the fate of the beachfront home, but the memories sound wonderful.

Rae, hope your work goes quickly. What do you do with all those scarves? We need pictures! And of the jacket too. How wonderful to find it and being that smaller size.

Can't help thinking of Houston and other troubled places in Harvey's way. Wishing it could be over and everyone OK.
