Hi my sweetie-Oooooos!

Happy Monday and here is an extra cup of :tea: Its coffee, tea, hot cocoa, (brandy?) whatever you wish, to make you smile on a Monday!

It was sooooo dark when I got up this morning. Its so sad that the days are getting shorter already. I know they have been since June but now it seems so drastic. You remember how I have a full spectrum lamp for my seasonal affective disorder? I have a smaller one I use in the living room (the monster one is next to my computer LOL). I am going to give that one to Cait since she apparently has SAD just as bad as me, if not worse. I had no idea that she was struggling so much until she told me in the spring. Poor kid :( I am hoping the meds she is on for the anxiety issues will take the edge of SAD too.

Yesterday was a nice day out with my kids. I took them to Sugar Loaf, a little crafty-type village of neat shops. I hadn't been there in years and was so sad to see about half of the buildings were closed and boarded up. But the kids and I found a few small gifts for Leah (Scott's GF) and we hope to go back for some Christmas shopping.

Today I am working at my MIL's and she is taking the kids for their back to school supplies. Cait's laptop is completely dead and the family is chipping in to pay for a new one. We ordered it yesterday so it should be here before school starts.

Hope that you all enjoy the day!xoxoxoooooo!!!!

nancy-- what a fun thing to see, an outdoor game. You are brave, I know I wouldn't be able to stand the cold!

Phyllis- Thank you so much! All of you here as so amazingly understanding and compassionate about my Lyme. It breaks my heart that so many people still cannot get that understanding from their fam and friends. I lost quite a few friends and had some major chinks in some friendships when all of us got diagnosed. Now I am so lucky to have so many good people who listen and care. I think that I take it upon myself to get the word out so other people can have what I have.

Hope that you are not too sore after all of that yard work and wallpaper ripping! You are a maniac!! LOL

Stephanie- that came out super-cuuuuuute!!!!!!

Hi Sally!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Monday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hugs to *everyone* who reads this!!! Love to all!

Morning all who pop in here today!! Happy Monday! It was supposed to rain today but so far the sun is out and shining brightly!! I don't think the weather people really know any more about the weather than I do  I did not get a chance to be in here much yesterday. With yard work that needed doing and helping out with my grandson, the days are flying by quickly and I am not getting any of my fun things done. :pout: But really I am not complaining much, because this is the last week for my DD and Mason to be here. :hurt: I want them to live closer to us so we can see them all the time!!!!

Chris - Reading your post yesterday, made me cry  I want to watch the link that you provided, but I am afraid that it will make me feel sad and I wish that I could help you get past all of this Lyme crap!!!!! I don't know how you cope!! I think you are one of the strongest people I know (you and my DD) I send out all of my love to you and pray to the universe that there will be a cure for this awful Lyme's Disease!!!!!
How wonderful that the family is chipping in for a new laptop for your DD!! May you have a Marvellous Monday and keep the :tea: coming I could use another cup too!!

Ok I am trying to get a page or two done today, but not expecting it to happen, seems I just get started and someone wants or needs something from me. Oh well I guess what will be will be. Wish me luck!! Have a great day all!!

good morning - it is cloudy but I just watched the old Disney movie PollyAnna. I love this movie. I have always loved prisms because of this movie. I found a station MGM that plays these old movies. Later today will be Exodus. Love Paul Newman. Now on is the US Open tennis. My DH and I will be going on Thursday. Looking forward to that. Never know though what the weather might bring.

Chris I am start to hear a lot more on the news about Lyme's disease these days. I think that can only be a good thing for you and for others in the future.

Phylis wow yard work and wall paper removal. You are a DIY woman! You go! I am totally impressed!

Stephanie that minion cake turned out so cute. Did your son want to even eat it - would he let you cut it up?

Have a great day!

Trudy sounds like your are one busy grandma! Enjoy - the scrapping will still be there! And yes those weathermen - what a great job where you can be wrong so often! LOL

Nancy, just heard a radio report about the US Open. the head of the organization said that there will be major reno on the facilities, and a ROOF will be put on so that the proceedings won't always get rained on. unfortunately, the roof won't be on for this year!

Chris, it's a rare person who can understand and empathise with chronic ilness in other people, especially an illness that can't be seen. AND one who has people in the medical community pooh-poohing it on TV. i just don't expect anyone to GET my disorder, and i generally don't talk about it, even to my husband, because i think that, honestly, most people just really don't want to hear it. which is tragic. but understandable, in a sad way. what i always say, when pressed about some disorder being "real" or not is this: less than 75 years ago, people with diabetes were treated with iron injections. and Multiple Sclerosis was widely known as "The Faker's Disease." so much for medical accumen and attitudes. i think that, if you're looking for a "bright" (?) spot, it's that people in your own family are traveling this road WITH you, so THEY KNOW what you're feeling, because they're feeling it, too. small comfort, i know. and ((((major hugs.))))

Trudy, enjoy you're week with DD and The Wee One! is there still a passanger train from BC to Ontario? maybe you could make a monthly trip over to see them! i feel so happy that, when they're in the country, The Grandmen are only about a 4-hour drive away.

gaaah. another bad night. not much sleep because one of my ears is killing me. dunno exactly why. honestly, if it's not one thing, it's another. getting old is pretty annoying, i'm finding. and so is grocery shooping. just got back from that. at 10 a.m., most of the produce was still not out, and what was, was looking BAD! this IS summertime. if produce can't be good at THIS time of year, when CAN it be???

complain much, Phylis??

OK. i'll stop. hope your Monday is looking and feeling great! :becky:

It was a warm but gloomy day here too, though it didn't rain.

Thanks Chris!

Yes, Nancy, he was fine with it and of course everyone wanted a piece. We had my parents, grandma, niece, brother and sister-in-law all at the party. The cake was a mix but my frosting is an almond frosting that I make from scratch from my aunt's recipe and it's rather tasty so everyone wants a piece and then another sometimes LOL The whole thing is almost gone already, just a couple pieces left in the fridge!
