The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
I really hope that the areas that got hit hard by Henri are doing ok. It stopped raining here for now, although it looks like we are going to get rain on and off until evening. It really came down last night and I can hear branches crashing down in the woods behind me. Of course, our basement is flooded- the sump pump and surface pumps have been running non-stop. But thankfully, other than nuisance-type stuff, it is all good.
*tries to ignore the very annoying sound of the pump's motor*

I cleaned/dusted/vacuumed yesterday and all that vacuuming did was show how spotted the carpet is. Eep. I definitely will need to clean them well before the Sept Bash. Gary was able to reset the dishwasher and we are going to give it one more wash cycle before we either try to repair it or call in someone to do that. (I saw We but I mean He LOL) I talked with my mom a bit and she is very focused on getting ready for our little getaway. I can't think that far ahead although I should. It is in two weeks and I have no idea what I need to pack.
Have any of you traveled and stayed in a hotel recently? She is wondering about the "sterility" of the pillows there and if we should pack our own. Honestly, I imagine that their pillows would be fine and safe to sleep on but I have no idea if that is true. At the very least, I think if she feels more comfortable and gets peace of mind, then it is worth packing them.
All I can say is *please* let the weather be nice enough to be outdoors most of the time for meals. There is plenty of things to do outside even if it is just wandering on the boardwalks of one of the other beaches. I wonder how far Pt Pleasant is from Belmar? Half-hour?
I know... I am rambling out loud with my fingers. hahaha!!

Not sure what to do today, I should work a bit on my food shopping list and maybe clean my closet out. Fun fun fun!!

Have a fab day!!

@tanteva I get what you are saying- I think part of the mentality of having to share your LOs comes from being on a CT. It's been so long that I have been a Cheery O that it is unusual for me to scrap for myself (very rarely happens) or for a gift like Christopher's b-day albums. Some of the stuff that I have, I keep for sentimental reasons. Corny, right? :D

Kay- hope that each day gets the back behaving more and more. Does it take a long time for the meds to kick in?
I am thinking about all of the food I can make with that cheese and all I can focus on is quesadillas.

@nancyr how did you and your area do? Hope you didn't get hit too hard. The good news is that we didn't get terrible winds, there are some power outages but nothing widespread. I still can't stop being jealous that your restaurants are within walking distance. I suppose the diner is and I do like that diner, but nothing more than that and a pizzeria. So nice to be able to meet with your friend and her DD.
Cait and Tom made a vegan peanut butter pie and I cannot wait to try it, it looks delicious. It was ready last night but I didn't want to be the first one to cut into it.

@Cherylndesigns We were having dinner and mentioned that Braxton needed a change of clothes, it had been a while since we did that. Scott runs upstairs, grabs some of that gear, and puts it on him. Then cracks the joke about him being "Rambone." That kid is so freaking funny. I wish I had a fraction of his sense of humor. And yes.... it really is always a bit spooky around here. [bat/ghost/skeleton smilies]
Woah, that was awesome that Braden got rid of the grass's root balls. I mentioned to Scott about it, he hasn't dealt with that one, it isn't here in NJ (yet!). Since he specialized in invasive species for his degree, he feels your pain and says that rhizomes are a b**** to get rid of.

hugs!!

Well ... I guess summer is officially over now. Urban went back to work today. After he drove John to get his 2nd shot of the vaccine. I'm working on Wednesday - and I thought I had only 2 more days of work (next week) but last week the boss said she'd put me up for some more hours during the fall, don't know how much yet. I guess I will get to know on Wednesday. Yay for more work! I really enjoy the job + who doesn't need money???

Since I'm the President of LHA (Lousy Housewifes Anonymous), I declare this week as NBW (New Beginnings Week). I've made yet another plan to get some order into this house. Made a 2 week schedule of the rooms in our house, and assigned each a day where I'm supposed to clean in that room. We'll see if I even last the first 2 weeks, before I give it up. Today it's the entrance + hall way. Done the "move-all-the-crap-that-don't-belong-here" bit & I'm going to hoover & maybe wash the floor. Biggest problem is that there's some extra furniture there (not sure if it's the sofa or the book shelf that is extra LOL) ... cuz ... well ... don't know really. Having ADHD is hellish at times, especially when it comes to organizing stuff.

Also ... I need to do some ironing. And washing up. And preparing dinner. And ....

Hey! Let's scrap!!!

Eva - love your LHA (Lousy Housewifes Anonymous) title!!!! ROFLOL That gave me a great laugh this morning.

Chris, it will probably be easier just to let you Mom bring pillows for the trip. Better to have her not stressing over how sterile the ones in the hotel are. Hope that all goes well on your trip. Yes, Scott really does have a great sense of humor.. love his costume and name for the skeleton!!!

Cheryl... wow, Braden sure was strong to be able to pull out the ball of the Johnson grass!!! Glad he came by and kept you from stressing your body trying to dig it out.

Yes, the muscle relaxers are working... but the PA suggested that I limit my sitting time for the next week or so. The meds do wear off after a few hours right now and I am still very stiff when I wake up in the mornings. Guess it it going to take a week or so for the full effect of the meds to kick in and the back muscles to recover. Hoping I will be back to 'normal' by early September. I am still napping 2-3 hours every afternoon - guess the body needs that to recover.

I talked to Lois -my sister- yesterday about her trip over here next week. We are both looking forward to it. She said for me not to do anything - she would do whatever needs to be done before her grandson & his girlfriend arrives on Thursday evening and her son on Friday. They will be leaving Friday afternoon and Lois will leave on Saturday or Sunday. I am smart enough to listen and let her do a couple of things for me.

Good afternoon all.

Chris,@faerywings that's a funny story about Braxton/Rambone! I keep forgetting to ask Ava if she still has her skeleton. Probably not. Our dinner went well last night - it was short and sweet. Roger's gone back to Florida, so he wasn't here. Adrienne and I had a couple of glasses of wine and didn't even go sit with the kids. Alyssa's bf came and Braden's gf did too, so they were rather noisy and unruly for some reason and were being SO loud. The wine definitely helped me and Adrienne. They ate and started talking about leaving and I said "I love you-goodbye-go home!" They started cracking up - they were on our last nerve last night. They laughed all the way out the door. (Oh, Ava stayed and we had a nice, quiet conversation then.) Chuck didn't feel good and I could tell their extra rowdiness was getting on his nerves, too. He doesn't drink anything alcoholic, so he doesn't have any escape.

Kay @BrightEyes Braden is huge! He about 6'5" and a football player and has weight lifting every morning. He pulled that thing out like it was nothing.

Chris @faerywings tell Scott that the rhizomes (there were at least 2) were huge and after Braden pulled the biggest clump out, we saw off shoots - he got ALL of them out. I'll TRY to keep them out here, Chris - you DO not want them in NH! I'm just glad we found out what it was and I'll be on the lookout now.

Eva @tanteva sounds like you have a plan. That's the most important thing. Now, if you can only carry that plan out. Good luck. I have a plan. I'm interviewing a possible house cleaner later this week. That's MY plan. LOL I want our house deep cleaned every two weeks. I hope we can come to an agreement. Adrienne has found somebody and I'll get to interview her when she does. Ava had a cleaner and she didn't change her bed! That's a deal-breaker for me.

I'm better get busy and do something. I need to do laundry. UGH
