Good morning my dear friends!!! I'm getting ready to head off to work, ugh, LOL, like I'm sure several of us are. Be safe on the road today, I saw 3 wrecks within 30min last Thursday on the way home then another the next morning. It's getting where I'm scared to drive, people just don't pay attention anymore. Me, I look like a little old lady (no offense!!) driving down the road sitting up close to the wheel with both hands on it HA! Not to mention how I feel on the bike now LOL, poor DH, I constantly poke him in the side telling him to watch it....you just never know for sure if people see you, they get ready to pull out from a side road or driveway still rolling and not at a complete stop...it's scary! But, what would life be without some 'thrills' I guess ?! teehee

Hi ladies,

Thank you all for your kind words about my doggie Simon. It is appreciated so very much, my friends. We got to spend time with him on Thursday, and it was very peaceful in the end. The house feels so empty without out him, but we know we made the right choice ...

How were your weekends? We had a fun weekend - went to our county agricultural fair. There is nothing like a fair - fair food, games, rides - it was blazin hot, but we had a blast!

Hi ladies!
I'm beginning to feel back to normal again. The weekend was uneventful. Tried to make it special for Vince as it's his last one stateside for quite some time, but you know how it is when you try to force stuff like that... "Have fun, DARNIT!!!" Oh well. It ended up being fairly normal, which is good.
Making sure I stuff him full of good home cooking, too! Today is pork roast. It's a good thing I stocked the freezer when he got his bonus, because now we are broke. Boo hoo! And with all the fabulous new stuff here at the Oscraps shop! Oh well. Before too long, his deployment bonuses will kick in, and we'll be okay again. For now we'll just be frugal! ;-)

Mary Ellen- Glad you had a peaceful final few days with your Simon. And I'm even gladder you had a fun weekend!

LindaW- Sounds like you have your hands full today! Oh well, I know you are loving every minute of it! Have fun at put put, and.... FORE!!

Dawn- thanks for the heads up! LOL, I drive like that too! Hee hee! I am so glad my husband no longer has a motorcycle for that very reason.

It's my last Monday of freedom before school starts
We've got freshmen orientation this afternoon and I'll be working the sheep show at the county fair all day tomorrow.
I painted the downstairs bathroom on Saturday, now I need somt accessories or something in there - shopping anyone?

Dawn - I know completely what you mean about the traffic. We just had the Sturgis Rally here - people just don't watch very well for bikes and they follow them way too close!

It's reward challenge time again for Designer Survivor!

Good morning ladies...it is still morning for a couple of minutes anyway...for me anyway. Today was a good morning. I finally decided to switch dentists for my kids. I took Ethan to a fabulous dentist in Tacoma but it took me about 45 minutes to get there without construction traffic (DawnCW - you know all about Hwy 16 traffic I am sure). Ethan had a bunch of dental work right off the bat with 2 silver crowns, a root canal and several cavities. Apparently he had soft enamel that didn't protect his baby teeth very well. Well, even after all that he still liked going to the dentist, so I didn't want to change anything. But the driving got to be too much for the appointments and I finally broke down and decided to try out the dentist they suggested in my area. It went really well...plus Ethan had a clean bill of healthy teeth. I am so glad. I wanted to have Ethan and Addie to go in at the same time but to do that it would have been after school started and I am trying very hard for Ethan to not miss any school because I have to pull him out for a week for our cruise in February. So, Addie will have her appointment next week and I have my own on Wednesday. Now I am a big baby and hate going to the dentist. I do not go nearly as often as I should. And apparently I have a tooth (a molar) that is cracked from the top to the bottom that will eventually require a crown, which I know will be expensive and it is already starting to bug me a little bit. I'm not excited about that.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was pretty decent. Pretty low key which is always nice. I got to go out with dh to a birthday party Saturday night which was fine, right up until it was time to leave. DH hates to miss anything and didn't want to leave but I needed him to come home so that I could take the babysitter home without waking the kids up and putting them in the car. So, he drug his feet alittle bit, which I knew he would do. I should have started trying to get him out the door a little sooner. It isn't as though he's not predictable and i don't know better. LOL!!

So, that was about it. I hoe all of you guys had great weekends. Well, I am going to do some personals and i think I am going to try and scrap today a little bit. Is the new Spotlight up? Why yes it is!! I got to do a sample LO for this. You get to scraplift Sally!! How fun is that?? Check it out HERE!!

LindaW - Have you lost your mind? You are one brave grandma taking those kiddos putt putting. I can hardly manage to take Ethan. He got bored about halfway through and just made me crazy. Have a great time. I was so glad to see the birthday party this weekend went well.

Dawn - I am also a nervous driver and sit the same way in the car as you. Ihope you have a safe trip to and from work. At least your dh drives a Harley (he does doesn't he?) so people can hear him coming. DH drives a Goldwing, so it is huge but not very loud.

ME - I am so glad youw ere able to have some nice time with your doggy. That is never a good experience and I'm sorry you had to go through that. The fair sounds like fun. Our big fair doesn't start until September. I hate that it starts after school begins. I love me some fair food though. Nothing like Fisher Scones and cow chip cookies and some kind of gian burger that I can't remember what it is called.

Andrea - Big hugs to you. I know this will be a hard week for you and the next year will be hard too although soon everything will just become how it is. I'm so glad that you have an extra outlet of support here. I know we can't help out in ways that the people IRL can, but we're still here for you. How long is his deployment supposed to be?? I hope you are able to stay busy busy with school, the kids and church and the time flies by. More hugs!!

Kat - what is up with everyone's AC going out?? I don't have it so mine can't go out, but generally it doesn't get that hot here (key word, generally...this year was a bit unreal). Have fun playing in the pool today.

LindaP - I don't envy you going back to school already. We don't start until September. Enjoy your last few days of freedom, although it sounds like your days are taken up anyway. Are you ready for the new school schedule system? I hope everything goes smoothly. Do you have a place for us to vote again for your design challenge?

Good News....A/C is fixed We survived thank gosh for the pool and Nick's friend coming over! Totally kept my mind off everything!

Clara....Dentist....YIKES!!! I am so glad thate everything went well! Hope Addie's goes just as well

Dawn - Hope work was okay. I know how you feel about driving! The other day I went to my moms which is literally 8 minutes away. On the way home a guy in a van parked on the street and opened his door then proceeded to jump out right in front of my car. I almost hit him by inches. I had to slam on my brakes and poor Nick was so upset! Then guess what the guy did...he gave me THE FINGER!!! UGH!!! But here is the best part....I put on a happy face to reassure Nick and tell him were okay let's just get home when 2 minutes later the 3 cars in front of me...had a major accident glass flying everywhere. I was the 4th car...and if I hadn't had to stop because of the van guy...I would have been involved! So thank you van guy for being mean...you save our lives!! I HATE Driving anymore!!!

Hey everyone!! hope everyone had a great Monday!! Its Tuesday morning here downunder and I am at work but heading off at lunchtime up the coast. I have two days of training up north at a place called Tweed Heads, its virtually right on the border of New South Wales and Queensland. I will be training some of our field guys (linesman) in the basics of using a computer and also the email program we utilise in our company. Looking forward to going away but the basic training can get a little bit boring. Anyways, Tweed Heads is only a 3 hr drive away so will be leaving around lunchtime and then when I get there I will setting up the training laptops that I cart everywhere with me!

We had a quiet time on the weekend apart from a trip on Sunday. We took DH's mother to the beach for a drive, it was glorious day and was really nice just to sit in the sun and eat fish and chips for lunch! Even though it is winter there were quite a few brave souls out in the water, swimming and surfing! brrrrr! it would have still been too cold for me to go in!!! LOL! as a kid we virtually lived at the beach and would go swimming all year round, definitely getting old!! LOL!!!

Hi Dawn, ITA with you about people just not paying attention anymore!! I love driving, if anything I am a wee bit too fast, DH keeps telling me to go slower! but I am careful and do pay attention, even though the car has a mobile phone car kit I won't take calls when I am driving, its just too distracting. If it's an important call then I will pull over but no way when I am driving. LOL! Dawn, your DH must have permanent sore ribs from you poking him all the time!!! and how's little Davey going??

Hi ME, sorry to hear about Simon, it is sad without them, but as you said, you did make the right choice for him! Nice hear you had some fun on the weekend though, we have 'shows' rather than fairs but its the same thing. There is a big Royal Easter Show held in Sydney each year that has the rides, showbags and also the agricultural side as well. Haven't been in years but when we were kids, living in Sydney, we used to come with LOADS of bags and spend hours sorting through all the goodies we got!!

Glad to hear things are getting back to 'normal' Andrea. LOL! about the 'have fun, darn it' its always the way isn't it, when you try to force something to happen its just not gonna work! no doubt your studies will soon be filling your days and nights so hopefully it will keep you occupied while your DH is away! and of course scrapping!!!

Hey Clara! oooh no!! dentists!!! I am a big chicken when to comes to dentists as well!! and like you I don't go as often as I should!! glad to hear that Ethan didn't need any work and good luck with Addie! LOL! about getting DH home!! its normally the other way round for us! my DH hates going out so after an hour its like "can we go now?" and I say "no, come on just another hour!".......in the long run its better that I go on my own!!!
