Happy Last Day of April! It really is shocking that it is the last day. I am looking (very much!) to May and the warm weather coming up.

Did everyone have a good weekend? Yesterday was kind of a blur of boring-ness. I am as ready as can be for food shopping. I pored over the cookbooks that I had sorted through last week and didn't find much of anything but at least I tried. *wink*

Cait and Brendan went out for breakfast and stopped at a Dollar Store. There was a huge selection of luau decorations. Since that is the "theme" loosely speaking, of my 50th birthday party she grabbed some stuff including coconut bras and grass skirts for the 2 of us to wear.
This party is going to be funny.:biggrin1:
May is already getting stuffed full of parties and activities and appts. I have to reschedule my eye exam for June since there is too much stuff going on (right now it is next week, not ready for that!). I know what I am making for Gary's b-day dinner and dessert, thank goodness. But Mother's Day is right around the corner and I need to make something for the moms. Any ideas??? I also have to think of what to do for our 25th anniversary in a few weeks. (I wish we were a "normal," healthy couple and we could go away for our 25th! Or out to dinner at the very least heh!!)

My Ils are going to be married for 50 years in October and are planning a big party. My SIL and I are working together on the invites and guest lists and Save the Dates. Then my dad's 80th birthday party is 2 weeks after that on Nov 10. I am not going to have much of a break at all this year, am I?
:faint2:

But it is all good things and will make me happy to see family and friends.

But today. I have to focus on food shopping and then planning out the month very carefully and in detail.

Have a fab day and send me all of your Organizational Skills and Vibes.

Nancy- I am always so impressed how you and Jean can look at birds and immediately know what they are. I look out of my window and see birds of all shapes and sizes and all I can tell is "bird." I get the occasional cardinal or blue jay but not anything else.
Did you give Luther a bath? Wet dog smell is no good!
What exciting hockey games all around.
There is nothing better than NJ (and NY) pizza. :hungry:

Trudy- we have cold and rain today too. It is a bummer. Hope that you got all of your housework done and maybe scrapped a bit? I finished the one LO I was doing for a May Challenge and it took me almost a week!
I hope that DH's blood work comes back ok. Brendan has high levels of iron too- wish he could give some of that to Cait who is consistently anemic.

Jean- I hope that your weekend was full of great stuff! My mom got Cait an Ancestry DNA kit for her graduation and I am looking forward to seeing how her results compare to Scott's. I will be sharing the info with you too :)

Felis- sorry that April is a rough month for you. Here is to flipping the calendar to May-- is that month better for you?
Boo!!!!! No fair siding with Gary! Actually, I just need an idea of what meal to make. I don't mind buying the ingredients or making it. I just need somewhere to start

Love and hugs!!!

good morning - It is cloudy and may have rain showers. And I have to mail off bills. And yes I still do some my snail mail but most have been converted to online which I think is best LOL. Hockey was fun! The Caps won and now that series is tied and the Predators won so that series too is tied. Of course the Predators game had to go to OT and then to double OT. It was a great game lots of excitement and goals and changes of leads. Tonight I have two more games and again hoping for no OT.

Chris glad you have the birthday dinner figured out. That is more than half the battle. You have so many wonderful events coming up! And yes you will be busy but please remember you do not have to do it all by yourself!

Trudy that is a lot of doctors hope the results are good. Hope your weather gets better. We are going into the 80 after we get through today. Go Bruins tonight! Winning two in Tampa would be awesome.

Jean I am not surprised your weekend was full!

Felis sorry April is the pits but now we have May!

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... wet and dreary here today, just like everywhere else it seems. Tomorrow they are promising better weather and hopefully the day will be beautiful for our hike on Wednesday. It is very near where we live so that is nice that I don't have to do a long drive! DH is getting ready for his appt. this morning, no coffee for him just water is all that he is allowed. Poor guy! I thought that it was blood work that he was to have, but it is an Ultra Sound that will be done. Sometimes we have a real lack of communication :becky: So not too much going on here today, I am still working on getting my hiking pages completed. I think I am the worlds slowest scrapper! Need to vacuum and wash floors, but not much else, then I think I will try to finish off painting the cement quails that I started last year. Worlds slowest painter too LOL. Lots of projects started, just not real good at finishing them.

Chris - Sounds like your upcoming 50th will be a ton of fun! You have some very busy months a head of you, sure hope you can get everything organized and sorted out! You know you will, just take one day at a time and do a little bit everyday! Sure I'm one to talk, procrastination is my middle name LOL. Yes Mother's Day is sneaking up on us and the only thing I can suggest is perhaps some plants for their gardens? We are getting my Gary's Mother a bunch of Dahlia tubers, she lost most of hers this winter and she loves her Dahlia garden! Not sure if your Mother's are gardeners though. Hope you have an easy shopping trip to the grocery store!

Nancy - DH is very excited for the game tonight, it would be awesome if they won again in Tampa Bay! Cheer loud for us!! We still have to do a few bills by snail mail too, but not anywhere near as many as we used to. Being able to do it through online banking is so much more convenient! Hope that there are no more OT's for you! It must make for a very short sleep! Hope you and Luther can get back to walking in the sunshine soon! Have fun with all the hockey to watch tonight!

Felis - I totally understand you having trouble with your monthly page, I too have been struggling with my layouts! Hopefully the month of May will bring all of us into more creativity! Thanks for the concern over my DH's iron levels, I am sure it isn't anything too serious, the day that he had the blood work done he was still getting over a very bad cold/flu so maybe that had something to do with it? :noidea: I hope that you will be over all this allergy stuff soon and back to your happy self!

Jean - Pretty much the same way for me this weekend, it seems to fly by and I don't really get anything much done LOL. Hope that you are having a nice day today!

Rae - Thinking of you and B enjoying all that banana bread etc. Hope that she is improving with each passing day!

Hunter must still be sleeping as DD hasn't facetimed with me yet, she gets her cleaning etc. done while he is napping in the mornings. They had a busy weekend too as Mason was invited to a birthday party and of course all the neighbourhood kids were outside playing with the basket ball stand that Jonah got for Mason. So funny that it has turned out to belong to the whole neighbourhood. I was teasing Jonah that he should now purchase some hockey nets so they can all play street hockey together LOL. He says he will leave that for someone else to do. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Sunny and almost warm today so it looks wonderful. Tomorrow will be warmer but I have a meeting in the afternoon then dentist Wed. followed by bird club in the evening, so not lots of time to get out and bird.

Felis, I too hope May will be better for you with allergies going away.

Chris, nice you figured out what to cook for G's birthday and hope shopping went well today. Better to set up a calendar of what's coming with dates to complete prep for them and then try to do it but not stew over it all month. You do tend to feel pressured but always get there anyway. Maybe get the kids to cook for you on your anniversary and watch a good movie? Or send the kids out and have a nice night to yourselves? And I look forward to hearing about Cait's DNA.

Nancy, what a lot of hockey to watch. We saw a bit of the Nashville game but not the OTs. Luther must be loving spring walks. Hope you see more warblers. We don't yet have any leaves to worry about hiding them.

Trudy, yikes, G had to go without coffee and then an ultrasound, not nice. Do hope the iron levels was a one off thing. Here's to procrastination! I sure do plenty of it too. But do hope the scrapping comes together.

Hope your weekend went well, Rae.
