Whew! For a Monday, we seem to be getting off to a better start than last week. Mentally, at least. Physically, I want to know who the HECK beat me up in my sleep last night??? hahaha!

Cait is an a much better mood. She saw her BF yesterday and worked out some issues they were having. Things have calmed down at school (for now at least) and I think that PARCC testing is over so that means she will have a normal schedule again.Scott had a nice weekend with Leah and her mom so all of that makes a Momma happy!!!
I know that you all know what I mean!

I won't say that my scrap mojo is "back" but I was able to get a couple of pages done. I was hooked up to my IV so while I was stuck to my desk, so to speak, I spent some time cleaning up duplicate photos and tags. So much more of that to do. Sharon-- it never ends, does it???

Not much going on today, I think I am going to run over to get my blood work done, and I need to harass my LLMD about next steps on treatment. Gary's b-day is on Sunday and I need to make him *something* I just don't know what. Maybe a run through Pinterest is a good idea. Mother's Day is also coming up soon and I have to think what I need to do about that. And Scott's b-day is the week after that... what am I going to get him??
OMG- I *really* need to get back to work!

I don't think I had mentioned it but my crochet skills are improving slightly. I made 2 PICC line covers and one of them came out so darn cute!

I hope that you all have a wonderful day and a great start to the week! (I feel like Sally today-- it is a fresh start!!!!)

QOTD What is your favorite thing about your body? No trash talking allowed-- only good things!
I like the color of my eyes and my smile. (That was way harder than I expected, with the "no trash talk" qualifier! )

You were all so quiet this weekend, hope it meant that everyone was out and about doing fun stuff!

Sunday:

Nancy- The restaurant sounded... interesting, I know I would have passed on the goat too.;) But it is great to be adventurous like that!

Sharon- that is exactly how I am-- I can do a little of this, a little of that, but nothing quite spectacularly. LOL
My old college roommate did roller skate dance too. She said it was really tough, much harder than ice b/c of the weight of the skates.
It sounds liek you have a lot of music and dance in your life, which is wonderful!

good morning - yesterday was getting myself ready for my trip. My birding companion Doug has our whole trip planned. We are heading to the Big Bend area of Texas. This is a real birding hunt. He has about 6 birds in this area that he has never seen and wants to add to his life list. If he has never seen them then I know I never have LOL. Even though he is just hunting for 6 there are lots of birds in this area and I like seeing them all. I leave at the crack of dawn on Wed and come back late Tues. I will miss you all. But I should have more photos to scrap. My son had a great time in DC with this new girl but long distance romances are hard so don't know if this will work out but you are only young once. My husband went out with our son and was going to help him with a project but it got postponed and instead they went to a garden store and he brought home plants. The look pretty so we will see if they survive. Watched more hockey. Two more games tonight.

Chris glad for a good start to the week. Calm is good but wow what a lot of celebrations coming your way.

Sharon I love that your husband and you danced. I don't think I have any rhythm and my DH does not like to dance. He also does not like music. I grew up with country/western music from my mom and aunt and of course I was in high school during the Beatles craze so loved rock and roll. I love having music on in the background. It just makes me happy. I regret that I never learned to play the piano. I started but just did not keep with it.

QOTD - my hazel eyes and I had nice long eyelashes. But now I wear eyeglasses so they are not seen.

Have a great day all!

Chris, glad your week is starting more calmly and that Cait is doing so much better. Sounds like you have a lot of events in the next few weeks.

Nancy, your birding trip sounds wonderful. And I know you will love being warm!

My best thing has always been my hair, even though I have let it go gray. It is still thick and has lots of body.

Not much on my docket today. Laundry. DH was going to play golf, but it is raining, so that may not work out. I'm off to swim laps.

Go gently.

Hi girls,

Christ, I´m happy that Cait is better now. It´s hard for a mother to see her children are in trouble or sad.

my week starts with a lot of sun. I got up early this morning. Ok early for me, it was about 8 am. Monday is my day off from work and I do nothing. :heh:. I start my day with the power on button on my PC and my Capuccino. than make my laundry and after drinking my Capuccino I go to the bakery for some rolls and bretzels( I think you don´t know this well in the USA).
my son has afternoon shift and starts work 13.45 pm.
DH has to go to the garage because our wheels sounds like a Truck after we changed winter tires to summer tires:rofl:. We never had this and I think it´s not normal. We will see

my favorite thing about me ??? uff this is a hard question. I have nothing special ,but I like my hairs

Wish you all a wonderful week.

Morning ladies... we are having the same weather as Sharon :rain: I had a fun day with my sisters yesterday, lots of stories and laughter!! It was good that we were laughing and keeping my older sister happy and not thinking about her daughter! But I think she has resigned herself to moving on and getting on with her life.

Chris - Glad to hear that things are improving for Cait and that your Monday is getting off to a good start! Good luck finding something for Gary's Birthday!! I find men very hard to buy for. They don't seem to give you any hints as to what they they would really like. At least mine doesn't :becky:

Nancy - Your birding adventure sounds like fun! I saw this on Facebook the other day from someone who lives not far from me and I have never, ever seen this bird before, any idea what it is?

Sharon - Hope the rain lets up enough for your man to get on the golf course! Enjoy your swim today, I am off to the pool also. Not much else happening around here, can't get out in the garden in this :rain: Should be doing laundry today also... maybe later?

Astrid - Enjoy your lovely day off hope you get to do nothing at all all day long!! Hope the noise your vehicle is making is nothing serious!

QOTD - I suppose I would have to say that I like my Hazel eyes, I am the only one of the seven children that got them. I also like my legs, hubby always told me I had great legs

got those from my lovely Mother!

Ok off to the pool after a Skype with DD and Mason. We will catch up on the weekend they had. Can hardly wait for July to come around so I can see them again in real life!!! Have a marvellous Monday everyone!

Trudy! That is one impressive bird! I would obey it!!!!!!!!!

I have a question for you. I used a swim cap today (the tight kind they sell at the pool), and it didn't do a thing to keep my hair dry. Is there a technique? Maybe I should youtube it!

Sun is coming out. Maybe golf will be on!

Gonna pop over and get my hair cut.

Sharon, unfortunately the swim caps don't really keep your hair dry, its mostly to keep the hair out of your face while you swim. It does help to keep the chemicals from ruining your hair though.

Trudy, it is a Chukar, a European partridge introduced to N. America. You can see more here for instance: http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Chukar/id

Chris, how nice things were calm this morning! Good luck finding ideas for Gary. I'm sure there will be something. But you do have the events coming up! Hoping all stays better for Cait.

Nancy, your trip should be wonderful! Colima Warbler must be at the top of his list (literally in the sense that I guess you'll be hiking up Boot Canyon to see them). I don't think I've scrapped any Big Bend photos, they were not digital, but now are.

Astrid, sounds like a lovely day off. Hope the car noise isn't a problem.

Sharon, I am so impressed with your swimming. Not given to exercise myself, but have been doing a tiny daily thing for over a month. So even I many not be hopeless.

QOTD: Well, guess I can join on the eyes. Mine are hazel but tend to look green and I've always wanted them to be green. Also always have liked being taller though I'm not still 5'8" and that was never really tall.

Back on the music question, I can't sing, never played an instrument (after the 3 month trial in elementary school on clarinet) but did love to dance both free form to rock music and folk dance. DH just doesn't dance and I haven't for a very long time.

Wishing all a lovely day and week.

Thanks for the info on the bird Jean!! Strange that it is on the Island! I don't think I have ever seen one on Vancouver Island.... he must be lost :becky: I have always wanted my eyes to be green too LOL, we are never happy are we! LOL

Music question from the other day, I used to play the drums, yup loved it too!! Boys in the school band hated me because they wanted to play the drums, but I had a better ear for it then any of them did. I think I liked that I was finally better at something than the boys

Thanks Trudy. I would have saved myself $5 if I'd asked you last week! LOL My hair is so short, it doesn't get in my face, and I don't color it any more, so I'm not concerned about the chemicals. I shower and wash my hair after each swim.

Unexpected opportunity to spend some time with Clara today. Her nanny called in sick this morning (first time in three years!), and DS had a business meeting, so Gran stepped into the gap! She was so sweet, happy, chirpy, adorable............

Home in time for DH's return from golf, and a mocha during The Debriefing. The weather turned down right HOT...79* all the way home.

See y'all tomorrow.
