It is the last week of April. And you all know what that means... May is in a few days. June follows right on its heels. And I am not ready!
*repeats to self over and over* Don't panic, I got this, I do. I really do.

For those who don't know-- just about everyone in my family has a b-day/anniversary in May or June (everyone else's in September). Toss in Mother's Day and Father's Day and this year there 4 big graduations. Gary's birthday is May 3 and every darn year it sneaks up on me. And then Bam! we are off non-stop until my birthday at the end of June.

I am going to be organized. I restarted the commitment to my to-do list yesterday and I know that is going to help. I have to delegate and let the "kids" be responsible for their own things. (If Caitlyn doesn't take her regalia out of the plastic bags and hang it up so it is not wrinkled when she graduates, I am going to bite my tongue and not let it get to me. Wish me luck and send bandages and ice b/c my tongue is gonna hurt.)

I got this.

I had such a hard time sleeping last night, I was back into the "wake up a million times and try to figure out what day it was" mode.
One thing I need to do is figure out how to change the clock on the new cell phone, the default one is huge. Every time I looked at it (part of the waking up/OCD routine) it startled me. We had no trouble activating it which was pretty cool. I was able to get everything transferred over as well. This was funny-- you know how I spent days copying over and deleting photos before I transferred everything? I had maybe 4-5 photos in the old phone gallery but when I transferred it all, *everything*-- 100s of pictures- showed up on the new one. I was dumbfounded until I realized that I was using the My Phone App that connects to my computer which uses One Drive (Microsoft) as the photo backup. The phone itself (Android) uses Google Photos. When it transferred the data, it used the Google Photos drive. Gah!! :D ;) :p

The first thing I need to do is finalize the food shopping order. Then I need to run the rest of the basics- laundry, clean out the fridge, maybe some yard work. Clean my office area, it's a mess again. I also need to make an appt with the LLMD for a yearly re-check and some blood work and my car needs an oil change. Hopefully, we can get it in tomorrow so I can use Cait's car since she is home then.

I got this.
You all got it too since I know everyone is dealing with some level of chaos. You are if you are human. Or so organized that you should be teaching life coach lessons. In that case-- SIGN ME UP! :D

xoxo

@LSlycord feel free to borrow my paper bag if you start to hyperventilate :) Happy frenetic is honestly a fantastic description! It is going to be so exciting-- I cannot wait to see your pics and hear your stories.

@tanteva yikes, how is Urban's head?? (am I allowed to crack jokes about having a thick skull?) Seriously, I hope it wasn't a concussion.
Good thing he had you there watching over him, god knows what would have happened if you were upstairs cleaning ut that drawer LOL

@bcgal00 I saw more of your photos on FB! Just lovely!<3

@taxed4ever sounds like you had a wonderful weekend!

@scrap-genie Do you know of an "intro to bird watching" website? Scott and I were talking about learning about some of the local birds. I "won" a free subscription to a magazine and picked Birds and Blooms to share with him. We both feel pretty clueless ATM.
I figured out what the mystery stalks are! I uncovered a few more in another little area-- they are hostas. Scott put them in several years ago and they must be multiplying since I think there were only a couple of them, not 4 in a small clump.

@Cherylndesigns thank goodness for the SAD lamps.
LOL-ing at Sam with the puppies. Can't tell you how many claws we pulled out of our first dog's forehead. hahaha!!

All this talk about multi-photo/pocket templates has me intrigued. I tend to be a one photo/lots of paint scrapper so I haven't really used pocket templates. Is there one (or 2-3) set you recommend for a novice?
Budget-smudget. pfft and harrumph. (Like my sound effects?) Even though it is $5 to use online shopping, I think it is better in the long run b/c I can see what the cart costs and take out stuff to stay within the budget, plus no impulse picks. But it is *hard*
I doubt that I would ever end up in OK but if I did, you know that I would find a way to meet up!

group hugs!!

OH, cross posted. @faerywings Urban must have a thick head. He's fine, besides a big bump on his forehead. He's at work. The warm, cozy work. While I'm sittning here, woolly socks & thick sweater, under a blanket, hoping the handy man come & fix that %$#/&*** heater.

This is the thread for everything whining & hating, right? Guess feeling cold and being hungry brings out the best in me. LOL

I just hate Microsoft right now. Seems they made some update on my puter. Now if I click a link in my mails, they automatically opens in Edge. I'm a Chrome girl!!! Can't find how to change back. And in Edge, when I download a file, I can't choose which folder to download to. Goes automatically to ... I'm guessing the folder's called Download in English. I usually download directly to my EHD.

My life is ruined!!!

And I'm an over-dramatic cry baby!

No handy man yet.

I'm cold.

I'm hungry.

Bring me chocolate!

Good Monday morning everyone! It poured rain all night long and I woke up at least a dozen times last night UGH!! However this morning the sky is blue and the sun is shining and there are a pair of eagles on the tree top just down the way from my kitchen window. They must be scouting out their breakfast this morning. I had a nice visit with my sisters yesterday and got very spoiled with a lovely English Tea party and a Rose bush for my garden, along with a gift certificate for a spa day! Can't wait to try that out! It was good to see my sisters again! They have both been very busy with everyday life! I hope to get busy being creative in my craft room and here at the O! I am really far behind with commenting etc. Other than that not much to do around the house as it all got done over the weekend, so that is nice!

@faerywings - I am sure that once you get back to your to do list again, everything will fall into place! Keep calm and work on one thing at a time, it will all be ok! Thanks for the reminder to get blood work done, DH and I are both overdue for that and my Gary needs to get his Nexium prescription refilled. He can't get it until he sees the doctor. I am anxious to see what his blood work will be like now that he has changed his eating habits and has dropped 25 pounds. Sorry that you had such a crappy sleep last night, I also did and woke up so many times. You might want to think about not having your phone next to you in your bedroom?? I leave mine in the living room on the charger all night on silent mode. That way there is no temptation to have that light stimulation during the night. But still I toss and turn anyways, so what do I know?? LOL.

@tanteva - Love your daily calm quote!! Glad to hear that Urban is doing ok after banging his head so badly! Sorry you are cold and hungry, sounds like you are hangry!! Guess you will have to make Google your default browser, hope you can get it figured out! I hate PC's and will always be a Mac girl! Hope the handy man shows up soon!

@scrap-genie - How nice to hear that your weather is better and you are able to get out for your birding adventures again! I am not sure I have ever seen a cabbage butterfly? I will have to check that one out!

@Cherylndesigns - Hope that the rain has stopped for you and the sun is out again! It sure does make a difference in ones mood!! I don't know how families stay on a budget either, what used to be $100 trip for groceries is now at least $200, but it seems here we are able to pretty much get everything again. Aren't the prices astronomical!!

@LSlycord - I too am anxious to see all of your great photos when you get back from your amazing trip! Amazon must be loving you right now LOL. Its funny to see the delivery trucks do their parade around our neighbourhood! There are deliveries every single day on this street! What did we all do before Amazon?? Especially great for our DD as she is unable to get out on her own too much to go shopping for things that she needs. I swear she is their best customer LOL.

@bcgal00 - I is so great to see that you are settling in to your new home and surroundings! Enjoy your nature walks with your fur babies!!

Well I suppose Heather will be face timing with me soon and catching me up on all that happened over the weekend. Should grab a second cup of coffee and get ready. Have a wonderful Monday everyone!

@taxed4ever LOL You should have heard me when I had an iPhone. Hate Apple more than Microsoft. Urban managed to help me change the settings over Messenger, and now it's ok again. Handy man was here - need to order a spare part. We can turn the heater on with electricity, but gee ... not fun when the costs are sooooo high. I stick with my blanket & sweaters for a while. At least it's not mid-January and freezing cold.

I had a busy wkend with 2 photo walks and out with the dogs to the park each day. Didn't get too much unpacking done so will focus on that this week, along with a bit of scrapping now that I am starting to get back into it after my hiatus. Hopefully, Remi will be ok. Last night we discovered she had ingested some rope from one of her toys and some of it came out. So now we are waiting to see if she is ok. She is not playing, doesn't want to go out into the yard for bathroom time (although I got her to pee this morning). She drank some water but won't eat. So I'll monitor her today and if she doesn't perk up I'll have to call the vet and get her x-rayed for internal damage.

That's it for me right now. I'll be back later. I'm going to try to get Remi to eat a bit of kibble now.

Wow... can't believe how late I slept! Was asleep by 10 PM and didn't wake up until 8:45AM! Guess my body was making sure I lots of rest. The upper back is still stiff but not as bad as it was. Still tightens up when I bend so the knees and thighs are getting quite a work-out when putting in or pulling out things in the lower cabinets. Glad I took the whole weekend as PJ days and rested most of the time. Still learning how to use the smart TV. Watched a couple of movies on the streaming service over the weekend - but I miss having closed captioning on them... and not having the sound go to the Amp to the speakers so I can adjust the bass down and treble up (it turns down the background and turns up the voices). May go ahead and get the adapter to plug the Amp into the TV. I need to call a couple more roofers to get estimates on the roof repair.

@faerywings - glad you restarted your 'to-do' list. Maybe that will give you more of a feeling of control and you can see that you have accomplish things. Yes, your family does have a lot going on in May and June. I know it is hard to let the kids be responsible for taking care of their own commitments without Mom reminding them about those... but that is part of letting them be adults. <<< sigh >>> So bite your tongue and let Cait do things in her own time. PS... only Mom will notice if her graduation gown is wrinkled... everyone else will be celebrating that the big day has arrived. How neat that you and Scott are learning about the local birds together. It is so much fun to share knowledge together with your adult kids.

Talk about "sticker shock" when buying stuff now!!! Prices have doubled on so many food items and we are back to seeing missing items in the stores again. I was happy to find bacon on sale at 60% more than it was 2 months ago... the regular price now is almost triple what it was in Jan. So bacon and eggs (won't talk about how eggs have doubled/tripled in price) won't be on the menu near as much as before. At least the gas prices here have come down a bit.

@bcgal00 So sorry that Remi ate part of the rope... hope that it all passes and Remi gets to feeling better soon. Bet it is nice to be back to finding a bit of time to scrap again. Love all your photos on FB... WOW... those bird photos are amazing! So glad that there is lots of places to see the wildlife around where you live now.

@LSlycord Only a few more days now before the trip... know you are all excited about it. Looking forward to seeing photos from all the places you are going. That paper chain is getting really short now!

@tanteva So sorry that the heater needs a part and you are having to bundle up to stay warm. Hope that Urban's head gets to feeling better soon. That was quite a hard knock he took.

@taxed4ever Sounds like you had such a wonderful birthday. Glad you got to spend part of it with family. Oooooh!!! A spa certificate!!! DH gave me one of those several years ago and I loved it! Go enjoy being pampered.

The coffee cup is empty and the morning is almost gone... so better get my shower and dressed before this turns into another PJ day! LOL

Good afternoon all.

Oh boy, I'm so late getting in here. I didn't sleep well last night - I think my "good sleeping spell" is over. Hope not - I ate too late last night so I'm pretty sure that was my problem. It has FINALLY stopped raining - but it's only about 60 today. It's supposed to be better by tomorrow.

Chris @faerywings you've got this! Just do one thing at a time - easy for me to say, huh? Your summer birthdays sound like our fall birthdays. Ours start in September and don't end until the end of Nov and then we're into the Thanksgiving and Christmas bustle. Yes, thank goodness for our SAD lights. I had mine on all day.

Trudy @taxed4ever what a lovely birthday celebration it must have been with your sisters. Sounds so fancy and totally lovely - an English Tea Party - how wonderful. I have a couple of English Tea Tins and LOVE them - My Downton Abbey tin is sitting out all the time. It just makes me feel good to look at it.

Eva @tanteva sorry you're having computer problems! I don't know it it's applicable, but we have a big thread about the download in the Chatter Forum. Specifically, it's about the automatic download of Windows 11.

Sending hugs to all and have a Happy Monday. :):)

Hi :) I am away with DH on a work trip/weekend getaway. Better than letting him go alone and worrying after he had a serious medical emergency last week. He's doing great and working hard on staying well :) Had a lovely day yesterday when we drove to make a surprise visit to my family (a couple of hours away from where we are staying). Only see them a couple of times a year so that was a treat.

@LSlycord I am really looking forward to hearing about your trip (yes, I AM travel deprived!). Hope you find time to pop in and tell us about your adventures

@bcgal00 Hope Remi is OK!

@faerywings you HAVE got this ... but yes, adulting can be overwhelming

The heater is working!!! For now ... LOL The handy man that ended up coming here, turned out to be a friend of ours. When he was here, he said it had to be ordered a new lighter-thinga-ma-jinga, and we will get it later in the week. Then after about 30/40 minutes later, he came back. He had found an extra one-of-those-things in a boiler room at another place, that we can use for the time being. No guarantees it will hold up for very long, but hopefully til the new one arrives.

@Cherylndesigns Thanks for the heads up for the thread about Windows 11, but I have Windows 10. I guess many will be jealuos now, but gee .... I still miss Windows 3.1 LOL

I love this sooo much. I have been trying to get Syd to let go of perfectionism for at least 10 years...take risks I say! It has not worked! For what it is worth, it is definitely possible that she gets this from me (another point in the nurture column of the nature vs. nurture argument).

But this is beyond magnificent and I am going to do a layout with this quote and have it put on a canvas...or a mixtile...and give it to her for her dorm room. And maybe, just maybe, it will sink in someday. Someday before she hits her 60's would be great!

Thank you for sharing this!

Good evening. First and foremost, I promise that there will be at least a few photos along the way to keep you updated!

Both kids got their boosters today...they each had a final this morning and then went to get their boosters. Because of their ages, I had pushed the boosters out for awhile. But we needed to get the boosters so that they can get into Paris...so now we are covered. I will be spending the evening uploading passports, vaccine cards and drivers licenses to airlines website. In theory, this will make it easier for us to get through screening on our way out of here.

My oldest niece will be here on Friday. She is flying down from Chicago and bringing her spoiled dog to join our spoiled dogs while we are gone! Things are happening around here! LOL

Glad to hear that Remy is ok @bcgal00. I'm having Brian run the dogs over to the vet to check their chips. I'm sure that they won't get loose and I'm sure that if they did, they would come back right away. But, I'm going with better safe than sorry.

@Lynn Grieveson enjoy your time away with your husband. Especially love that you got to visit family!

@BrightEyes glad that your back is feeling better and that you got a good night of sleep.

@faerywings oh my...the mom as the observer rather than the manager of everyone's lives. I'm working on it but I sure haven't mastered it! And I very possibly may need that paper bag!

@taxed4ever what a nice day yesterday was with your sisters. I love my brother but he is sure no sister. LOL Fortunately his wife is like a sister to me. She just had a birthday and we decided that for our birthdays this year, she will fly down and do a long weekend with me this fall. It will definitely do my soul good---especially with Syd leaving for college.

Off to the gallery for a few comments before I start uploading documents to the Delta site.
