Happy Happy Monday!!!!
First day up at about at 5 am in a while.... not as bad as I was expecting. So far at least.

I had a super fun time with the kids and my parents up in PA. My kids-- in case you haven't heard this already-- are total KOOKS!!!!! We made up new sounds for the cows and horses we saw. We looked for invisible penguins, and found Ogo Pogo on someone's lawn, all while rocking out to Green Day. And that was just the car ride up! Hahahaha!!!

But now I am back to reality. The last marking period of the year for the kids, and Scott has got to bring up his grades or he is going to fail some classes for the year.
Caitlyn got turned down for her Counselor-in-Training application for the summer camp. How the heck do you get turned down for a volunter position?? Her friend who applied at the same time got turned down as well. I am going to see if I can pick up another client or two for the summer and bring her with me. That way I can pay her and still make the same amount of money for the household. Maybe that works out better in the long run.....

Today I am going to try and get organized for the rest of the week. Wish me luck on that!

Missed you all, hope everyone had a great weekend and has a wonderful Monday!

Morning Chris....glad you had a good time this weekend!! I would die to get away for a few days right now!!!

I think letting Cait tag along with you and help is a great idea!! Sharon did that in the Summers with my Mom....my Mom worked for a nursing home so she volunteered there. She actually got a little bit of scholarship money for all of her hours of service doing that every year.

Just wanted to pop in and say hi.....these kids are back to school and gotta get Jaiden dressed...the bus will be here in a few....it really is strange to put a three yo on a bus!! but she does love it!!

Have a great day everyone!!!

Good morning ladies! So glad to hear that you had a good time Chris. Hopefully the kids are a bit refreshed from break and can come back and hit it hard. At least glad to hear that Cait's friend also got turned down...that would have been really hard otherwise. And I think that you have a great idea on the summer work. Would be some great time together.

Nana Linda, glad that the kids are back to school. That should calm your days a bit with only Savanah there.

Our part of Iowa was weather free last night...we really got off pretty lucky! Today is my uncle's funeral. Took Dad to visitation with me and talked to many of my mom's cousins. So many memories...

Talk to all of you later.

morning- it is monday- I have been battling a sinus infection all weekend- broke down and started abx this am- maybe the baseball bat between the eyes feeling will let up some. I need to get going to work- these last 7 days in the next two weeks before vacation will be tough- my mind is already on the beach!! Guessing I will be exhausted after work, so catch you all tomorrow.

Morning all..

I have a few things to catch up on at home before 1. Dick gets back from his weekend of bicycle riding and 2. Before the housecleaner comes. Dick jokes that I clean before anyone comes to clean, and I say No...I don't clean. I deal with any clutter. "You can't clean cluttter!" I went through a lot, a LOT of the papers in my studio, and in addition to sorting I pitched a great deal. That feels pretty darn good.

Otherwise, the weekend was perfect, though I could have turned the a/c on last night. Today...80s again! eek!

Chris, it sounds like the weekend was just what the Dr! ordered! I'll keep your chicks in my heart both with school and summer plans. It's 'good' that another girl was turned down on that voluteer position so Cait knows it wasn't just her. But rejection is no fun for anyone but it sure is a life lesson.

Nana Linda, one more on the bus is one less at home for a couple of hours. Sounds like a bit of a break for you two (the adults i.e.)

Linda, glad you missed the worst of the weather. May today be a day of peace and calm for you all, remembering the good times, and starting to let them all go.

Laurie, aaargh…those sinus infections are the pits. I was glad most of mine went away when I retired. ;-) I hope the scrip works for you. Just keep the vision of that beach in your head. Just a day at a time and you'll be there!

just a quick one to let you know that i survived The Invasion of The Grandmen!! we had rip-roaring week of zoos, museums, partying...and for me cooking, cleaning and laundrylaundryLAUNDRY!! but it was a riot. my son and i didn't get into any major arguments, and the kids made me laugh just about every minute. so. whew. now back to "normal." i need to assess whether i have any "ART" in my head. i need to get back to some pagemaking!

hope you all have a great Monday!

Morning ladies... I am up a little early this morning, no reason just popped up wide awake a half hour before the alarm. Guess I don't need one LOL. Anyway its :rain: here today, but the weekend was nice at least. Yesterday DH and myself picked up my brother and sister-in-law at the airport. They have been in Australia for 6 months visiting their kids and grandkids. 14hr plane ride for them Ugghhh!! and I complain about having to go across three provinces to see mine! They had a great time and also got to Cambodia for some alone time in between their trips to Sydney and Lenox Head. They are traveled out!! Nice to have my favorite brother & SIL home, we always have a great time with the two of them!

Chris - So happy that you got your much needed away time! Sorry for Caitlyn's bad news, but at least she was not alone in it. Taking her with you for cleaning this summer is a great idea!! Hope Scott can manage to bring his grades up, it would be disappointing to fail some courses !! Hope you manage to get organized for the rest of the week, wish I could!! Have a wonderful day my friend!

Nana Linda - Hello my sweet sister!! Nice to see you in here today! Hope that you get some much needed rest soon! At least you should have a few hours with partial peace and quiet!

LindaS - Nice that you got to do some visiting and reminiscing at your Uncles visitation, a sad time for the family! Hope you found some comfort in the happy memories!!

Laurie - It's oh so hard to get into work mode when you know the beach is calling you!! Hope the work days go by quickly for you and you get rid of that darn sinus infection!!

Maureen - Isn't it a great feeling to get rid of stuff!! I love to toss out crap that I have been saving for no reason at all!! Now if I could just get my MIL to do the same, she is become a bit of a hoarder and its starting to concern the whole family. She keeps saying that we can all get rid of it when she's gone, yikes we will need a few semi trucks if she keeps up the way she is going! Scary :scared:

Phylis - So happy that your visit with the grandmen went so well! They sure keep you busy don't they! How fun to visit the museum, did they love the dinosaurs!! Bet they were sad to say good bye to their grandparents!! You will miss them! Glad too that there were no arguments with your son, how wonderful!! Can't wait to see what beauty you create when you get back to scrapping!!

Well off to get breakfast and get ready for work, I did not get much time on the computer this weekend so I have some major catching up to do! Hope you all have a great Monday!!
