The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Hello and happy Monday to ya!
I've been up since 5 a.m. again. I think my internal clock recognizes it's time to go back to work, which is a good thing. (Right?)
It's going to be good for my brain, that is for sure. I can't even express how mushy and blah it feels in there. It's awesome having a goal for the end of the week. Today's weather is finally going to be decent, close to 60!! :woohoo:
That means that I need to stick to my to-do list so I can sit, maybe even walk around my tiny yard, this afternoon.

How was your weekend?
I didn't do much of anything. The main goal was the grocery order and I think it is ready to go. I need to finalize it this morning, and this time, I am not gonna faint at the coffee prices. The ShopRite brand of coffee I usually get went from $13 to $19. Don't they know that cannot, I repeat CANNOT, mess with coffee???
YKWIM?
I know you do! :coffee1:

In the afternoon, I scrapped one of my favorite photos of me and my Gary at Cait's wedding. It makes me so dang happy every time I see it. :lovey3:
He is so handsome and we were so joyful that day.
I did pretty good on my feet, I think I need a little confidence and strength but I walked much less "limpy" than Saturday.

Wishing all of you the best day!
:hug3:

Morning, all. I see I missed posting yesterday... wonder why??? :rotfl: I did go back to the library sale yesterday and scored on 6 more DVD's and 3 more paperbacks. 2 of the books are for DD#1. She is hooked on Kay Hooper's books and I got those for her. And the other one was for me. :D Then went to the Used DVD/Book store and ended up with 6 more DVDs and another book I was missing in a series. Had lunch then watched a DVD.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again-- your house is Belle's library in my mind, and there you go-- singing about books!
I hope you're back to your regular energy levels again so you get to base/commissary today. Take some dinner out of the freezer so you won't have to cook tonight. (Sorry, being bossy again...)
It's so weird indeed. I'm actually down Rt 10 a piece and my friends in Livingston seemed to be a line of sorts where we got flurries/snow but it only stuck to cars in early morning and that was it. The more west you went, the more snow there was.
I am so used to that in my town but crazy that it was south and west of me. The Oct blizzard was awful, we lost power for 3 days. At the rate your cousin was able to get to you, it would have been faster to walk but I remember how dangerous it was with all of the power lines down. That was not a fun storm.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRUDY!!!!!
I hope you have a wonderful day and even more fun on your Spa Getaway!! ♥ Take some pics so we can see!

What kind of high top boots did you get?? I have a pair of Hoka hikers, high topped and I just love them! They will be my all year round boots, I don't think I will wear my others ever again.
Oboz. Three pairs, all waterproof. Oboz insuated winter, Sawtooth low-cut, and Sawtooth above the ankle. Best boots ever. (for my feet, at least) The low-cut ones are my everyday shoes and my doctor was pleased that I was wearing sturdy ones to begin with. Too bad I was wearing slip-ons the morning I tripped. I am always warning my dad not to wear his floppy slippers since he falls a lot. I should have taken my own dang advice. (yes, I am still aggravated at myself for this LOL)
I know a lot of people like Hokas, I am so glad you and your feet are happy!

@bcgal00 I don't know how you do it but you cram more activities in one day than anyone I know. and you enjoy every last one of them. Talk about living life to the fullest ♥
IIRC, robins tend to make their nests in the same areas year to year? My neighbors next door and across the street both have robin's nests near their front doors every spring.
I am sooo excited for the hummers to get here.
Doctor said next step is knee replacement UGH. My knee felt funny for a couple days. I
I hope that the gel does the trick. :praying2:

@tanteva I know John is past b-day party and piñata age, but I am sure this technique could work for any future family gatherings

:floorlaugh:

The furnace is still not working! At least the sun is out and we are layered up in the house, so it is only uncomfortable in here in the mornings.
Oh no!!! I hope that it is working by now!

@deej What fun pictures of the Trivia Night!
85*???
Soooo jealous as I sit in 41* NJ.

Good Morning Ladies!
I did it. I sat. And sat. Are ya impressed?? Saturday I went to a luncheon and sat and then came home and sat. Hubs cooked. Yesterday after church I sat. I scrapped, read, watched tv. Just sat with my feet up. Today, is laundry day so I wont be sitting all day but it was nice to sit and chill most of the weekend. The next two weeks will be crazy with life so I took advantage and sat while I could. I read lots of things here but didn't seem to comment outside my head.

Its 30*F at the moment. Hoping it warms up so we can open the windows are air out the house. its feeling stale.
Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Wow Monday already.
@faerywings it sounds like you are really coming along now if only your weather would co-operate. I loved your scrapbook page, it's so happy! I really enjoyed our children's weddings too. I hear you about coffee prices and all food prices. I just spent more to feed the two of us this week than I did when we had 2 kids to feed and all their friends who were always at our house. Crazy.

@AK_Tracy wow you sat around and that is amazing. I'm impressed that you could do that. I hope you get warmer weather so you can sit outside more....nothing better than fresh air and sunshine, except maybe ocean breeze.

@tanteva really your family hates you??? really??? that is so sad.

Yesterday I was going to have a easy slow day.LOL..My friend across the pond called to tell me something was on my dock so I rushed out to find it was an otter family. Momma O and 3 babies were on the lawn eating a fish. I spent nearly an hour photographing them and making a few movies. they are just so stinking cute. Then I went to get groceries, put them away made lunch for dear hubby and myself. The rest of the afternoon I made 5 jars of loquat chutney from my tree. Then dear hubby decided to invite friends for dinner. I prepped salad, cauliflower and sauteed mushrooms. We put rub on the steaks. We had some nice red wine to compliment the steaks. Lots of stories and laughs.
Today I altered 4 chiffon tops for a friend, vacuumed and mopped floors. I spray painted a few garden things. I want a red accent so I painted a pot and a trellis but ran out of paint but I finished all but one little spot that I can touch up later. We just got invited to a friends party on Thursday night so I guess we will bring a piece of smoked salmon that we just made. Tonight is monday music night at the club so we are going over to hang out later.
I hope you all have a good week. Happy Scrapping to all of you.

I am totally wore out reading all that!!!! :giggle4: :giggle4: :giggle4: Really makes me feel like a slacker. I dont know if I have been that busy in a long time, but come July/August I will be as that is fishing/canning season. I cant wait to see layouts featuring your little otter family.

We were out all morning and into the early afternoon building bridges. The new trail we built this spring needs 3 small ones. Today we dug the holes for the support posts and set them in concrete. It's in a boggy area and the holes filled with water as we dug them. At least it meant we didn't have to carry water from the creek to mix concrete. There will be another workday Wednesday to put the cross beams and the deck on, but I'll be across the continent with the grandkids. I told everyone to take some pictures for me but I don't know if anyone will. It got up to 80° this afternoon! Crazy weather.

I hope that you can find the bendches or do you think they are gone for good?
I think those benches have floated down to Chesapeake Bay by now! We'll replace them with ones that are stuck in the ground, hopefully they will stay put in the next flood.

When I first moved to NJ, 1979, I had only lived in the south before. So we were living next to South Orange and I worked in Parsippany. That first winter I was so confused when people called in from Denville or Rockaway that they couldn't get to work because of the snow. All I saw was rain. I had no clue about the weirdness of NJ elevations' impact on weather.

It's 5:00 and I haven't yet packed. We're leaving on an early early plane in the morning. I have GOT to get myself moving!

I am dragging in here.... Yes, I made it to the AF hospital to activate and pick up my meds. WOW... they were so fast. Only took 45 minutes from time I arrived to getting them!!! Then over to the commissary. It wasn't busy either but by then I realized that my right shoulder and back were stiff and twinged whenever I moved to put things in the cart. Not sure what set them off... except it was cloudy and the humidity is up. Managed to get the groceries in the house... frozen food in the freezer... but just tucked the meat in the fridge and will divide and package it tomorrow. I almost had heart failure when I saw the price of t-bone steak... $16 a lb!!! Needless to say, I didn't get that. I did get some pork chops. Yes... most items have gone up in price.

Thought I could post a bit but the shoulder and back are yelling at me... time for some pain meds, heating pad and massager. Hope that does the trick. Will try to get back in tomorrow.

@tanteva really your family hates you??? really??? that is so sad.

Well, I don't know if they hate me or what. Haven't spoken to most of them in years. My choice.

Long story short: My mom was a narcissist, and she played the family in every way she could. I broke with my family like 10 years ago. I do keep in touch with my brother and his family, but we're not that close.

Is this your story? Or mine? I'm sorry you had/have to go through that. Its not fun. :heartpumppink: That's why we have the O family. They're here for us and love us.

You are so right! Where I live is elevated and then goes down the "mountain" to East Orange. When in college I was constantly calling school and work to say is it open today? The answer was - Are you kidding?. But you are right, the minute you went down rte 280- no snow while it was blizzarding up by us!

Excellent news this morning from my son. After 2 months of working 7 days a week after his General Manager walked out........he's been offered the position with a huge pay raise!! His hard work has paid off! That's all I have today, just needed to share.

No furnace yet. However, our temp got to 80 today! Our HVAC guy came this afternoon! He thinks it is the motor. He took it to his motor expert guy to see what he thinks and will let us know tomorrow what we are going to need to do.
