Weather Forecast from NJ: Sunny and cold. Temps might get near 60* this afternoon. The "warm" 70* weather looks like it is going to be Tues and Thurs and both days are supposed to rain. PFFT! I have not been able to get the leaves off of the black-eyed Susans yet and that means they are most likely not going to make it. I had to transplant a bunch of them into that area last year for the same reason. What a dismal spring- I had only one crocus bloom, one hyacinth, and as of now, one very sad and lonely daffodil. Everything is just mucky and muddy - the sump pump is also running practically non-stop still.

Cleaning out under my bed was a bigger project than I thought. I didn't realize how much stuff was crammed into that box. I couldn't throw out all of the stockings either. You never know when you might need a pair (or ten) for a project. ROTFLMAO I kept a few pairs in white, navy, and green. (MIL used to belong to that Silkies club- when they would send you a billion packages of stockings a month, anyone remember that? She gave me alllllll of the ones she never wore and there were a LOT)
The good news is that I was able to get rid of a couple of boxes that were stacked under the window in the BR. I have one more box that needs to be dealt with but that is another big project. At one point, I wanted to digitize all of the photos from Disney that we had taken since Gary and I went on our first trip together in '94. I have a couple of books that I paper-scrapped when the kids were small. After everyone got sick and Disney was no longer something we could do, it was too painful to look at them (happier times and all that). Everything got shoved into a box and that has been ignored since then. It's an eyesore as well as a heart-sore.

Scott had a good day, turned it is was mostly training, going over the new procedures from last year. Today is the first day in the parks and he is pretty excited. He is going to be splitting his days between Up County (where we live in the mountains) and Main County which is mostly city parks. Last year he was 99% Up County but since he is working 10-hour days this year, he thinks splitting the areas will be better. The good news is that he gets to use the work truck to drive between the areas. Paterson, where most of the other city parks are near, is a good 45 minutes from here. Not counting traffic. And if you know *anything* about NJ, it is that there is always traffic LOL If we aren't the most densely populated state we must be in the top 2. *G*

Cait and I are going to fine-tooth comb her tax forms and hopefully get them submitted today. I am going to bundle up and get my rain boots on and do some yard work in the afternoon.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

@bcgal00 I love hearing about all of the new places you are exploring. Bulk Barn sounds really cool. The dogs must be loving it all too, so many new smells to smell. It snowed?? Yikes. Scott asked me last night if I happened to look out the window earlier in the afternoon. Apparently, it was snowing here too but just for a little while. Thank goodness, I didn't see it or you would have heard me yelling in Kamloops LOL
I hope that you are able to get the microwave installed soon- it isn't something you can set on the counter just to warm coffee? How is your back holding up? And you are taking breaks?

@BrightEyes I am so jealous of the temps! But crazy how they are bouncing all over. No wonder you can't get your body regulated when you are asleep.
Chari is a rockstar! Glad to hear that each day is getting easier to be more independent- even making her b-fast. But I bet that she is sooo darn happy to be spoiled by you as much as you are happy to be doing the spoiling.

@Cherylndesigns So sorry to hear about the kitty. Two years ago, we had baby birds in the rhododendron on the patio and we could watch them from the DR window. None of them made it and we were devastated. Even with the whole "nature is nature/circle of life/blah blah" attitude, it is hard. :(
Hope that you don't; blow away in the wind!

*waves hi to all of you who pop in today!*

Morning everyone! Sorry for being MIA yesterday, but what a crazy day it was! We got snow yesterday, not anywhere near what some areas got, but sheesh its almost the middle of April! Only 2 degrees here this morning and the mountain tops have lots of white on them! It's pretty, but for heavens sake its supposed to be spring right?? Other parts of the Island got a ton of snow and lost their power etc, so we were kind of lucky that it never really stuck to the ground here. I got all my cleaning done and most of the laundry, @tanteva love the photo you shared!! Too funny! Will finish off my laundry today too. We had to go look for some new jeans for my Gary he has lost so much weight, that he has gone down three sizes, his pants were all falling off of him, even with wearing a belt. So we went through his closet and got rid of a lot of the pants hanging in there taking up room. He refuses to let me throw them out/donate to goodwill. He is still worried that he might gain all the weight back. I told him no he won't because we are not going back to old eating habits. He feels so much better now! Spent half the afternoon in my craft room, organizing and just tidying up. I sure can make a mess in there LOL. Today will be more organizing and hopefully getting out for a walk, it looks like it might be our only sunny day today, the rest of the week it says rain everyday.

@faerywings - sorry you are having crapy spring weather too! Come on Mother Nature, give us a break already!! Nice to hear that Scott is excited about getting back to his job, it should be interesting to be splitting the time in the two different park areas! Had to laugh over the panty hose/stockings!! I used to belong to that club too, when I was working at the bank and went through tons of them! I had lots of dresses and high heels back then. I sometimes miss dressing up like that, but my back does not miss the high heels ;). That is too bad that you feel sad when you look back at your trips to Disney, at least you were able to go and made some wonderful memories!! I hope that one day you can all go again! That is something that Heather wants to do so badly with her boys, it would be great if the whole family could go. We did all go to DisneyWorld but that was life before she had kids, it was Isaac and Sadie and they were very young! I hope that you are able to get out in your yard this afternoon, it will be good for you to be in the fresh air and clean out the cobwebs! I need that today too!

@bcgal00 - It is exciting to hear all about your new home! Hope you can get the microwave installed today! I am assuming that it is one of the large ones that fits over top of your stove? Have fun getting out and exploring with the dogs. It must be so nice to have all the new furniture too! I am still waiting for my new table and chairs UGH!!

@BrightEyes - I agree with Chris! I bet your daughter is loving being with her Momma! She sounds like she is doing so well and healing quickly! Hope you can get some more constant weather temps so you can get a better sleep!

@Cherylndesigns - Aww so sad to hear about the kitty! Poor little thing! Hope that the winds stop for you, it has been windy here a lot too! So unusual for spring to be that windy on the Island. Nice that you are having the warmer temps though!

Well I think I am ready for another cup of coffee and then I will get to the gallery and ohhh and awww over all the beauty there! Hope to do a page today. I have some great photos of the Heron nesting site I want to get into a layout. Enjoy the day everyone!

Good morning ladies. A quick hello today b/c I need to hop in the shower and get dressed. A locksmith is coming this morning to change all the locks. We are going to look for a sofa bed again today b/c the one we got wouldn't fit through the door frame so we have a store credit to get another one. Need to do some more unpacking and organizing too.

@faerywings Glad Scott enjoyed his first day.
@taxed4ever Gary has done so well! I bet he feels great.

I'd better get going. Have a good day.

Good afternoon, all.

It's raining here today - a huge lightning/clap of thunder shook the house about 6 AM, but it was just the one time. It's in the 60's but supposed to be warmer after today. Crazy spring weather - still very windy.

Yes, losing the kitty was sad and it was the grey tabby, the other two are black like Stormie. It was a pretty little thing. I'm honestly worried about the other two - they're still too small (in my opinion) and they JUST opened their eyes. I'm worried that they're not healthy. Adrienne wants to take them all to the vet as soon as they can be transported. They were ALL spoken for, but the black ones will still go to new homes. They're keeping the Mommy and will have her spayed later on. We know who the daddy is, but he took off - we haven't seen him for a while. He was an orange tabby just like our Sam, but ours is neutered. Roger went and got them supplemental "milk" like the mother's - he's afraid they're not getting enough. Stormie is with them constantly, though. I could hear them mewing all the way in the house. (They're in a tiny closet in the garage and it's heated, so they're not cold.)

Chris @faerywings I know it's hard, but DO get those pictures digitalized! I lost a LOT of my old (lots of vintage) pictures in a flood years ago! I'm still sick over it. I have some, but I lost SO many. I'm digitalizing the ones that I have. I have a scanner on my phone "My Scans" - it's not free, but it's amazing! Better than my scanner ever was and fast. I can scan pictures wherever I go, too. If Adrienne has something I want, I can scan it right there. I'll take pictures out of frames and scan them. LOL

Trudy @taxed4ever Snow? Yikes - at least you didn't get a lot and didn't lose your power. Spring has to be coming any day now! Only 2 degrees??? Good for Gary for losing so much weight!

Sending group hugs to everybody and Happy Monday.

Good evening ladies! I actually feel productive...and that is never a word I use to describe myself. But that's how I fee today. Got lots of "stuff" done this weekend and I was able to sleep through the night without waking up in a panic because I had too much to do. LOL

@faerywings I am so bummed that Cait had to pay taxes. Just crazy. And I am sooooo happy about Scott's job. You have such good kids. And remind me what is going on with your mom. Does she actually have an appointment with the cardiologist this week? And you would so enjoy the gardening that I'm doing right now. We have planted a green bell pepper plant, a tomato plant, a Tabasco pepper plant, a blueberry bush...plus lots of flowers and succulents! I love it! My hibiscus are blooming and I have a new tea rose that is just beautiful.

@taxed4ever I love that Gary has lost so much weight and that it gives you all of this extra energy. That's how Brian is. He had kept some clothes from when he was much smaller and he is back to wearing those clothes. His plan for Europe is to take some of his clothes that are really too big and leave them in the trash when we go to the next country. Our goal for when we return from Europe is to switch to Keto. I lost about 15 pounds on that 2 years ago and now with another 16 gone, I think that is going to be our primary lifestyle moving forward.

@bcgal00 we tried to find a sofa sleeper two summers ago but the supply chain was soooo broken that everything was back ordered for at least 6 months. We gave up no that hunt. So good luck!

@Cherylndesigns sounds like I missed the kitten story...but it sounds sad so I'm not going back to look at it!

@BrightEyes I am working on your template challenge. That template is amazing and must have taken so much time. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
