hellooooO weekend!!!!!
I slept until 6am, and didn't get out of bed until 6.30. That was a nice start. Of course I screwed up starting the coffee pot- thought I turned it on, but didn't. About 15 minutes later, I realized I didn't hear any of the gurgles or smell the heavenly scents so I had to go back and turn it on. My first panicked thought was OMG- coffee pot, Broken! :faint:
But it all worked out in the head.:cof2:

I appreciate you all suggesting that I do nothing, but ya knew that wasn't going to happen even if I tried.

I did my regular morning stuff, laundry, scoop litter boxes, dishes. I wanted to get the second set of wine glasses cleaned before the party next week. They hang over the island and that is where we cook anything on the griddle so they get a good build up of grease and cooking spray. I used to clean them more often but it is one of the things I let slide over the last year. As long as there is one wine glass clean--(mine!!!!) I don't care about the rest. I was halfway through the second section when Cait texts me that she forgot to take a Zyrtec last night and her hives were starting to break out.

Call the school to let them know that I am on my way (security to get into the school is kind of crazy since Sandy Hook, understandable but still a PITA.), grab the meds, get halfway there, and turn around. I realized that I needed to bring her a water bottle and saltines or she would end up throwing them right back up and I would have to come pick her up and she would have another unexcused absence. Get home, grab the stuff and head on back out. Get back home, finish the darn glasses then the laundry- then I have no idea what to do. I made Christopher his b-day card and then re-scrapped it 12x12 to put into his album for his next year's b-day.

Played with the dogs a while- Jaida is going stir crazy. With the rain and cold weather for the last couple of weeks, we haven't been able to get to the dog park, no walks, and very little time to play in the yard. She head butts me over and over when she wants attention. Her "thing" is to run in circles around the staircase but she wants you to chase her, and she will wait for you at the corners then take off in a different direction. Def. a good form of exercise for me, but really hard to keep that up as long as she would like.

Today is Christopher's b-day and party and I can't wait to see him. I hope that he wants to play with me. He gravitates towards Caitlyn, or Pop Pop (my dad) and that makes me sad. Sad for me, but happy for him and them. It is so good to know how much he is loved and how much love he gives back. I am always so thankful for his birth mother for giving him to my family. Truly a blessing.

Of course, having to go out in public stresses me out. What am I going to wear, I hate how old and tired I look, what do I talk to people about? You "read" me every day, my life is beyond *boring!* :blah:

I am in a Chronic Pain FB Group and they talked about this new app they were using. I downloaded it yesterday and it is called SuperBetter. It is a "game" that guides you to do small things to make yourself healthier/less stress/deal with chronic pain etc. You pick your main goal (I chose less stress but there were a ton of options plus you can make your own), and there are Power Ups (like drink a glass of water), Bad Guys (negative self talk for ex.) and Quests. As you do the different activities, you level up and get points. You can add Allies (friends) to cheer each other on, build social connections etc. It is in itunes and android. And the tasks are easy- stand up and walk a step away form your desk every half hour- but the goal is to build small moments of activity into your day. Can't hurt right? And I can lose some of this stress- it is a good thing:)

Hope that the sun shines for you (not here again!) and have a wonderful day!

Kat- I hope that you are feeling better today. Were you able to get out of work a bit early? I hope so!
Totally the same, so hard to do nothing. I read a book for about 15 minutes while I was killing time before I started cooking dinner. Does that count? :D

jean- oh yes, nurses can be so much more helpful than the drs. 100%. My dad said that his Rad. Onc. didn't really tell him that much about care after the treatments, and I told him that the nurses will help with the practical stuff. Nurses rock.
What a fascinating project to be working on! Good luck today!!!!! :high5:

Cindy- I imagine that Mother's Day will be hard. I am sending so many hugs and good thoughts to you. Maybe binge watching West Wing will be a good idea for you :)

Trudy- it has finally seemed to have caught on the US news about the fires, looks like they took a break from the Donald Trump Taco-Gate BS :)puke: ) to actually report some news. (Main reason why I get my news online not from the TV) What a tragedy, I cannot imagine, and the weather patterns seem to be that the area will be dry all summer? The North East is also having long-range predictions of a hit and dry summer with fire conditions high for July and Aug.
Sorry to be so down-- but this world's climate is a mess and it feels like no one (USA! USA! bah) wants to do anything about it.
I adore your painting, the colors are gorgeous! And the photos, I am so jealous, of the plants and the photography. You are so talented - yes, you are!!!

Oh fine, Rae- make me more jealous about flowers blooming... Bah Humbug!!!
Fingers all crossed for Bailey and an appt!! Good for her!! Tell her that the O-Fam is proud of her and we are all wishing her the best!

Good morning, ladies. WORLD NAKED GARDENING DAY roflmao...ummm....not a chance LOL.

I'm excited to be watching Anna's webinar this morning. It'll be my first one. Going to make this chat short so I can grab a second coffee and get settled in at my computer before it starts in a bit.

Chris - that group and app sound like good support for you.

I'm going to run now, just wanted to pop in and say hi. After the webinar I will be doing some chores, housework, shopping, scrapping and running a few errands later. I think the day is going to fly by. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Last night we went to see Capt. America: Civil War. Awesome movie. So did not disappoint and I loved Stan Lee's cameo. (I always look forward to those.) I think we are going to Animal Kingdom tomorrow (we have annual passes) to deal with Mother's Day. A combination of no children and no moms (his mom passed away in 2011) makes it a bad day.

Chris, I am not allowed to binge watch West Wing again right now. All the listeners to the West Wing Podcast (yes, this is a thing for the true believers lol) have agreed to only watch one episode a week to go with the podcast.

Rae, I hope you are having fun with Anna's webinar.

Now off to shop. lol

Good morning, Happy Sunday!

I just gotta brag on and on about my godson and how cute he is! He didn't play with me at all, all he wanted was my kids to run around and chase him. Kind of like my dogs... LOL
The party was very small, which was a big plus for me. i was able to chat with my brother, just the two if us. I apologized for being a bit too strong when i told him he messed up about not going on the Disney trip. They don't come back until next Sat night, so he is going to come up here for the May Celeb. for a few hours before he has to head back to the airport to get them. I am glad for that, I don't like leaving anyone alone. On a lot of levels hahahah!!

I got a couple of pictures of him with his new ride-in police car and turn-out gear with his last name on the bottom. he loves emergency services - police, fire, EMT-- I think it is from the family- His uncle is retired NYC police, his aunt- Trauma Nurse, his mom, trained EMT, and my dad- fire fighter. Poor kid doesn't stand a chance. ;)

Other than the party, not much went in here and today will be the same. We don't celebrate "holidays" or birthdays for the most part, so my gift to myself was a mental Happy Mother's Day to Me when I woke up and then maybe getting some stuff done around the house, maybe if the sun ever comes out like they are saying it *might* would love to get my hands in the mud. Its is not dirt, all mud. I was scooping dog poop and I was squishing through the lawn.

I hope that all of you get spoiled not matter if you celebrate Mother's Day or not- but just becasue you are *you.*

hugs and love!

Kat- Mental Down Time is the worst for me, always thinking about what needs to get done... always something that needs to be done.

Rae- how was the webinar? I have never taken one, but I always hear great things about them.

Cindy- when you are able to--For all moms and not.....
I am sorry that this is such a difficult day for you and I am sending you much love, Enjoy the Animals, hopefully the majority of moms and kids will be at Magic Kingdom.
That is too funny about not being able to binge watch WW! Do you have Netflix? Binge watch Kimmy Schmidt- hysterical!

hugs to all of you!

Morning ladies and I hope you are all relaxing on this Mother's Day Sunday!! I woke up and discovered my Vertigo has returned Ugh!! So back on my pills again and hopefully it will not become too bad this time. I was MIA here yesterday, as usual DH had a whole list of things to get done and we tackled them all! Got my hanging baskets all planted and hanging on the front porch, so they will look pretty ugly for a bit , but hoping that they will be beautiful later on!! Today we are doing Mother's Day Dinner with MIL and FIL and SIL Linda. The other SIL Sharon is in a fishing derby today with her significant other so they can't make it. Oh and yesterday we finally ordered out new dinning room chairs. We will have to make do with using the kitchen chairs for today, but I am happy that we finally agreed on some chairs and that they were on for a really good sale price also! Guess it pays to take your time and wait for a sale!

Chris - Your godson sounds so cute!! I can't wait to see the pics!! My son was the same and thought that the world revolved around emergency vehicles and of course superman LOL but sadly he did not become a police officer like his Dad, but he did join the military like his Grandpa Jimmy (my dad). Glad that you got to have a heart to heart talk with your brother also! Its important to keep those close sibling ties, I would be lost without my sisters and my one brother, the other brothers are so much older than me that we have never been really close

Kat - did you partake in the Naked Gardening Day yesterday? :becky: I would scare all my nieghbours if I did that :pound: Hope you got to do lots of scrapping yesterday!!

Rae - I loved Anna's Webinar also, but sadly got unexpected company about 10 minutes into it. Darn!!! But glad that it was recorded so I can watch again!!

Cindy - Oh that movie sounds great!! We have free tickets to the iMax so will be seeing that one for sure!! Sorry that this day is not a good one for you and your hubby!!

Ok I have to get going and get to Walmart to print off some pictures and then get ready for the In-Laws, hope my Vertigo doesn't spoil my day!! Have a great day ladies, you are all so wonderful in every way and I adore each of you!!

Good morning and Happy Mom's Day to all. Family is coming this afternoon for movies and Chinese food. it'll be a fun casual afternoon. I'll try to grab a few pics. My other daughter has dance competition for my GD today so they might not make it. It just depends on how far her team gets. They could be gone all day. My hubs has been on call this wkend so was out most of yesterday and has already left this morning on a few calls. So no idea if he'll be around today or not. I'm going to do a bit of shopping, scrapping and housecleaning before everyone comes over.

Chris - sounds like you had fun at the party. That was my first Anna class and it was interesting. I can't say I learned much but it gave me a few ideas and I'm glad I took it.

Busy day and I'm going to get at it. Have a wonderful day everyone.
