Happi iNSD- have you all see the sales going on? Crazy good!

So looking back at my post from yesterday where I said thatI was going to clean my office and the kitchen, yeah, that didn't happen. I did dishes and cleaned the counters but that was about it. My office is still a disaster. I was able to get some of the jars painted for the mother's day gifts so that was good. I also made tacos for dinner-- turkey for me, Gary, and Scott and tofu for Cait. But darn it- it takes hours to do that. The tofu has to be frozen, then defrosted. Then it has to get "marinated" in the seasoning., which sounds gross but Cait says is good. It is soy sauce, peanut butter, chili powder, hot sauce, and cumin. (I know, weird, right?!)Then crumbled and cooked for 20 minutes, then stirred up and cooked for another 20 mins. It is the waiting for the timer that makes it so hard. It is like roasting a turkey where you have to keep basting it over and over.
But it was a yummy dinner and I have leftovers so I don't think I am cooking tonight if there is enough.

I spent way too much time trying to really dig into the health"care" debacle. I truly do not understand how the Republicans think that "access" to healthcare is available if you cannot afford it. I paid $600/month just for myself pre-ACA for really crappy coverage. I don't have that kind of money to buy health insurance nowI don't have enough money to cover our current bills, let alone an addition $500 month- assuming that my premiums will still be at the pre-ACA level rather than more, now that I am older and have more pre-existing conditions. I better :tape:because I don't want to add "Ulcer" to that list.

Today I am off to the food pantry and need to get home and unpacked before my parents come over to bring me their car. And speaking of insurance, I hope that my car insurance won't go up too much. :scared: At least I won't be dumping lots of money into my car so there is that.

Monday Gary and I are going to have to to the DMV to register it. Yippeee, that is one of my favorite places to me. heck, at least I don't have to bring kids for any more road tests. *bright side*

Hoping all of you have sunshine in your days!

xoxo

Nancy- this weather is making me so sad! The sunset photo LO you did made me *slightly* jealous. (ok- TBH- much more than slightly LOL)
That stinks that you had to go food shopping in the rain.Caitlyn had plans to go to to a small crafty/shop village but she canceled. It would have been nothing but mud. Hope that your son feels better, will he be by you this weekend for laundry? I hope that you are all caught up too heh!

Trudy- How awesome to pick out a new bedspread, sometimes a little change can make such a difference. It seems like everything here turned green this week too. One good thing is that nothing needs to be watered.
That is too bad about the house hunting. It must be so frustrating to see something you like and know you can't afford a bidding war. My fingers are crossed fo them too.
I want to be at the chat today, I have to see if I can squeeze in for a bit.

Rae- hope that you got everything done that you needed to do- it sounds like you had a lot of loose ends to tie up. (story of my life! ha!)
What movie are you and Jen going to watch?

hugs and happy scrapping to everyone!

good morning - I slept until 9am. But I woke to great news LOL at least for me. My son is cheering for the Edmonton Oilers and for some reason I like the Ducks. I went to bed at 12:30 the end of the second period with the Oilers leading 3-0. Woke to find the Ducks scored 3 goals in the final 4 mins to send the game to OT and Ducks won in 2OT. My son stayed up to watch the whole thing ended around 2:30 am. Then came down stairs where my DH had made scrambled eggs with veggies and sausages. WOW great way to start the weekend and there is blue skies and the sun is peeking through. Yesterday was torrential rain and we had flash flood warnings. Up north there was bad street flooding but not too bad by me. The rain quit around 4pm so I did get Luther out for a walk. Got my cleaning done but bagged grocery store and ordered pizza. Got my Blue Apron order for the week. A salmon dish, a hamburger dish and a chicken dish. Yea! Love the sales here at the O. Fun weekend as I will buy Persnickety coupons for printing pages. Finished the Arizona trip album and I am very happy with it and showed it to my son and he too thinks it is great. I will make he a book of his own to remember the trip and his big 30. Now I can start on my Florida trip. Today is more watching hockey and scrapping.

Chris thanks for the nice comments on my pages. And yes the rain was horrible yesterday. Have fun with the new car. It will be so much better. But the insurance will go up. I have never seen such glee from a passage of a bill by just the house in my whole life. Our Senators will work hard to make sure it does not pass the Senate. It has a long way to go before any new Health Care is passed. Not worth getting an ulcer over at this point.

Trudy ah now I see where the painting and the bathroom meet. Congrats on new bedspread an easy way to give a new look to room. That is too bad about Heather's search for a bigger home. Now my house is way to big and it is filled and I wish at times I had just had a smaller home. So maybe decluttering will work out just fine.

Rae hope you got your work done and now have time to just relax.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies and Happy iNSD!! Holy Moly there are a lot of great sales out there in digiland today! A beautiful sunny morning and for a change I am up before my MG, that never happens so he must really be tired after his long week of work! I found a great buy on VarageSale yesterday for a brand new propane patio heater, so we are off to look at it today sometime. It will be so nice to have the heat when we are outside on those cooler nights. We spend so much more time on our front porch now because of our horrid neighbours and there two very horrid dogs!! Sorry ladies, I love dogs, but these ones are so badly behaved and the constant barking is driving us nuts!

Chris - Oh lucky you to get to go spend time at the DMV today!! I bet you could think of a million other things that you would rather be doing! I hope that your insurance does not go up too much more! I will be looking for you at the video chat today, I hope you can pop in for a bit! I do hope also that you find some time to get your office space cleaned out a bit, it makes it so much nicer to be in if its not a cluttered mess! (I am kind of a clean freak!)

Nancy - I am off to look at your pages this morning!! I be they are all awesome as usual! I hope you find some great sales today! How great to wake up to your team winning and what a shocker!! My brother and his son are huge Oiler fans so they will be very upset today LOL. Also a wonderful surprise to have breakfast all ready when you got up too! You are one lucky lady! :becky: Enjoy those Blue Apron meals they all sound yummy! Have fun shopping at the O today!

Well DH is finally out of bed so I better get a pot of coffee going and then hit the shower I want to be dressed and ready before I sit here for a bit at the video chat this morning. Enjoy the day ladies and I hope the sun shines for all of you today too!!

Good morning, ladies. Just popping in for a quick hello b/c I need to hop in the shower and be back at the computer for the video chat in half an hour. Should be fun. I have desk work/taxes and housework to do but hope to find time to play on the computer too. Tonight we'll watch a movie. Jen is coming and we'll have dinner and watch something. Not sure what yet. Have to check with her on what she's seen lately.

The sun is out for a few days so it's going to be a great wkend.

I'll check back in later. Have a great day, everyone.

I haven't managed to do anything scrapping wise. My inlaws are here for the weekend. (Someone needs to be with them at all times)

We had a kitchen sink clog and it was the clean out, so the plumber had to knock out brick. DD and went all over the area trying to find the brick and did. Now to pay a brick guy to take care of it. grrrr

Feeling a bit down in the dumps and its my birthday tomorrow.

I am fostering a cat and no one is happy. Hubby wouldn't say, so my daughter told me very rudely how he felt. TWICE double grrr The cat is a rescue from the SPCA who is 6 lbs and skin and bones, hair all matted. He won't eat in the shelter, so I offered to foster it to try to get it to eat (he loves to eat!) Someone wants to adopt him! She came by today. Yay for that.

Happy Sunday! I actually see some sun today. Clouds too but some sun and blue sky.
Yesterday was just miserable, cool and rain. The sun popped out for a couple of minutes and I thought the weather would change, but no such luck. Whoops, I jinked myself. In the time it took me to type that sentence, the sky got cloudy again. I checked the Accuweather and yup, cool and rainy. And it looks like it is going to stay that way until the middle of the month. :frusty:

I got next to nothing done yesterday and I*must* get stuff done today. Hafta. I can't believe that in 2 weeks I am going to have 15 (maybe a few more?) people at my house for the May Celebration Party. Thankfully, my family will all bring food so I won't have to make too much of that myself. But the house still needs a good cleaning and the rugs are filthy. They haven't been steam cleaned since December and after a winter and wet spring, there is so much mud and dog fur ground into them.
Scott offered to do them for me and if he has a day off from work (they are messing with his schedule and he isn't happy about it), I will take him up on it.

I had a very successful trip to the food pantry and was able to get several of the staples that I needed, including oatmeal for the dog treats I make.:cheer2:

I was able to pop into the Chat yesterday too. Jana is amazing! It is funny how the techniques we all use (or don't-- like buttons. dammit!) are so different. For those who were not there, some of my "friends" want to host a Button Challenge, fully knowing that I despise buttons in all forms, IRL and digital.

Tomorrow I will get to drive my new car! The title is all signed over, now on to insure and register. Gary was already messing around with the stereo and other gadgets. Men! haha!!

My parents were bickering again. My mom doesn't feel that he listens to her, so she gets bossy which makes him ignore her and so on and so forth.
I try to show her ways to rephrase things, as in "You can't climb up there (to look at something on a higher shelf), no one does that" to "let me get someone to help so you don't get hurt." I guess after being married for almost 54 years, it ain't gonna change at this point.

So yes. Today I am going to turn off my computer and get s*** done. Go me! (?)

Hope that all of you have a super day!

Nancy- what a great morning you had, to sleep in until 9! Wow! And then the Ducks win *and* a breakfast like that. Your DH must have missed you while you were gone. How is DS's ear feeling?
It must be so much fun to get a Blue Apron box and see what is inside. :)
I have to admit that I don't always comment on your LOs since Iknow that the aA team has them covered, but I love seeing them, every last one. You do beautiful work.

Trudy- I haven't had any time to look around at most of the sales here, but the ones I have seen in the What's New forum are amazing.
Those heaters look great for those chilly nights that you want to be outside. I am with you with barking, I can't stand it when Jaida barks and you know how I feel about her. :pupkiss:
Nope- DMV wasn't yesterday, we go tomorrow, but still- who wants to be at the DMV at any time? Not me!
It was fun chatting, I hope that we get to do more of them.
Yes!!! I know that part of my mental state is a reflection of my physical space and vice versa. Which is why today, I *must* get s*** done! Bwahaha!

Rae- How were your dinner and movie? What did you end up watching? Hope Jen is doing great, and Bailey too.

:HapBirth:
Happy Birthday, Sharon!!! (it is my godson's birthday too- 6 yo!)
So sorry to hear that you are feeling a bit down. I hope that your family spoils you today to make up fo the aggravation yesterday, Great news about the cat being adopted!!

Hugs to all of you!

good morning! I am so tired. My son had friends over to watch MMA fights and they were loud and screaming until 4am. That will not happen again. And I have been going in every once in a while just to wake him up. Mean mom for sure. Got up and walked Luther and it was partly cloudy now it is totally cloudy. Glad I got that done early. My sons and DH love to play strategy war board games so I had the night all to myself as they played over at my son's home with other friends. I got so much scrapping done - finished my AZ album and got a good start on my Florida album. Watched lots of hockey and the results mean I get even more hockey games. Also my NHL channel is showing the IIHF Worlds men's hockey championships. USA's team is so young average age is just 23. They lost first game to Germany and now today they are playing Denmark. Then more NHL hockey this afternoon and evening. And more scrapping!

Chris wow you had rain. We were lucky and we did not get any rain actually turned out to be pretty nice and I got in a good walk with Luther late in the day. I am sure you will get your house all cleaned by the time you have your party! Glad you are enjoying the new car. I bet DMV won't be too bad as you are just registering the car and license plates. Not at all like getting a new driver's license. And thanks for the nice compliment on my pages. And Anna's team does a great job of leaving comments.

Trudy hope you got your heater. It will be great for you when outside. Hope you got all your errands. Sorry about your family who love the Oilers. They will soon be in the Cup finals. They are just so good - they will learn quickly how to finish off teams.

Rae sounds like a wonderful evening - dinner and a movie! I am like Chris what was the movie decision?

Sharon - Happy birthday! Sorry that the cat has cause a disruption in your home. Glad though that their seems to be a person interested in adopting!

Have a great day all!

Morning everyone! I slept in until 8:15 Yay me!! :bliss: I hate to rub it in, but it is a beautiful sunny morning here this morning! Today looks like it will be the best day and then a real mixed bag of weather for the week ahead. Hopefully Wed. will be a good one for our hike! This morning we are bottling a red wine and then out to the backyard to pick up all the mess from the wind storm we had a few days ago. :mmph: Didn't I just do that?? Oh well it will be nice to be outside! Supper with my brother and SIL was great and she was so nice to prepare the vegetables that I can eat and extra items for everyone else! It was delicious as we had a nice pork roast yummy!! Then after supper we went for a nice long walk together and chatted away, it was a good visit!

Chris - Sorry to hear that your Mom and Dad are having disagreements! I guess sometimes that just happens after being married so long and then I am sure your Mother worries about your Dad hurting himself and your Dad thinks that he can still do things that he did 20 years ago! My In-Laws are the same and sometimes I wonder if my MIL ever thinks about what she says before she says it?? She can be very cruel and not just to my FIL. Hooray on your son offering to clean the carpets!! WTG Scott!! and so happy that you had a successful trip to the pantry and got everything that you needed!! Praying that the sun makes an apperance in your area soon!! NO MORE RAIN!!! Good luck on getting all of your s*** done today LOL!!

Nancy - Sorry that you had such a lousy sleep with all that noise from he boys!! I thought your son had a place of his own now?? I would be up there every 5 minutes waking him up too :becky: You have been so busy scrapping!! How wonderful, I wish that I could get the motivation to get more done myself, but I don't even know where to start these days. Enjoy all of the hockey games today!!

Rae - Hope you enjoyed your movie night last night! Like everyone else I am anxious to hear what your choice was! Hope you are able to be out in the sun today!!

Sharon - That is too bad that you are feeling a bit depressed right now, it is a shame that one poor little kitty could cause so much grief!! I am happy that there is someone out there that wants to adopt the poor thing though!! Oh and Happy Birthday tomorrow!! :bday:

As for the purchase of the Patio Heather?? Well I contacted the lady that had it for sale and asked if we could come and look at it yesterday. She has never returned my email and I haven't heard anything more from her at all. So I don't know where we stand now. :noidea: Talking with my brother and SIL last night about propane heaters as they used to have one, they said that they got rid of theirs because it dried out their eyes so much. So now we don't know if we should get one or not? I am looking into perhaps purchasing an electric one, we will see. Wish me luck!! Have a great Sunday everyone!!

Good morning, everyone. Had a relaxing night with family. I purchased some steaks and italian sausages from the butcher, then marinated the steaks all afternoon and cooked them in the pressure cooker while the sausages went onto the BBQ. It worked well. The steaks were a tougher cut of meat so the marinate and pressure cooking tenderized them really well. I made a mayo/HP dip for them. We had a big salad with bacon, tomato and ranch dressing. Then we picked The Accountant (I think it was Nancy who previously mentioned that she enjoyed it). We did enjoy it. Ben Affleck played his part well and it had a huge cast of actors popping in for bit parts. We finished up around midnight and everyone was tired. Slept til after 8 this morning which is unusual for me.

Yesterday Darrell's truck died in the parking lot at the recycling depot so luckily it wasn't far for me to go pick him up. He had to call the mechanic so they could tow it in for inspection and hopefully fix whatever is wrong. That stupid truck has been in the shop 3 times this past month or so. I'd get rid of it but D loves it. Men and their trucks LOL.

Today is a busy day. Desk work, taxes and chores. Its a nice day out so I will get Taz out this afternoon for a walk along the river when I'm ready for a break.

Chris - so exciting that you'll have your new vehicle. I had to smile when I read about parents bickering LOL. D and I tend to do that sometimes too. But we always end up laughing and teasing so we get over it.

Nancy - sounds like you used your alone time really productively. You are a scrapping machine. It was you that recommended The Accountant wasn't it, awhile back? If so, thx, b/c we really enjoyed it.

Trudy - glad you enjoyed your dinner and walk. It's a good day today to get outdoors. I really should clean up our garden but I don't think I'll have time.

Sharon - happy birthday! Hope you are having a great day. Its good news to hear of the kitty being adopted. Sorry to hear it created trouble for you.

I'm getting to work now. I find it too easy to get distracted on the wkend from what needs to be done so can't procrastinate any longer. Off I go......

Have a great day, everyone.
