Happy Saturday my lOves! It is a quiet moment here before a busy week begins. I just finished my second (very) large mug of coffee and feel human.
I only wish that the sun would come out. It is looking like we are going to have another dreary week ahead. Who knows, things might change.

I felt bad for Gary yesterday. His stomach was really bad and I was worried that he wouldn't be up for going out for dinner. But he felt better by the end of the day so that worked out. He was thrilled to have a new batch of shortbreads. I tried a recipe for rolled shortbreads for the rest of the family. I make his in a stoneware mold and they are moist and buttery. That recipe doesn't work for a rolled recipe, the dough spreads way too much. The recipe I tried tastes really good but almost every cookie crumbled when I took them off of the sheet. That is really good news for me because when a cookie crumbles, that lets all of the calories escape.
(That is my story and I am sticking to it! :pound: )

Caitlyn is such a crack-up. The gift she got for Gary was a new flying bat toy. Some of you "old-timers" here might remember my stories about that flying bat that we used to put up at Halloween and Jaida would go bonkers trying to catch it. Last year the bat died and Gary tried to get a new one. The one he ordered didn't work so he sent it back. Caitlyn found one and the dogs gave it to him yesterday. You should have seen Jaida's face and body language when she saw it. She knows exactly what it is and what to do about it. hahaha!! She will sit on the floor and stare up at it until someone turns it on for here.
Sidenote: Yes, we will now have a Halloween bat in my LR year round.

Today, Caitlyn and I are off to the FP and then I have to clean the house a bit. My parents will be here for Gary's b-day tomorrow, bringing bagels. I am actually "looking forward" to tidying up my house. Honestly, I cannot wait for my ankle to be back 100% so I can steam clean the carpets. All of the old stains have come back and they look terrible.

Wishing all of you a wonderful day!

Hello girls,
WOW what a week! Mix of holidays and busy days. I miss you all so much, but I was mostly offline and I'm not read any of our daily posts, will have to catch all later, excuse me! I have so much to share, but better to separate it in different days based on topics or I'll write a magazine long post today. When we realized that soon half year will be gone, and most of our New Year's prompts aren't even started we decided to make something called Maymax,
which is, ummm, the name tells everything: to live on max in May! For my friends (including my sister) this is vacation travel. For me (you know how much I hate to change my habitat and I'll mentioned this vacation in Monday again) this will be work in two shifts, I get to foster difficult cat case (for now I can't talk about that in public forum), and I hope to find some time to scrap too!
I'm not even start to download all fabulous beauties I bought yesterday. I'm excited to use them! But honestly my scrap mojo is very low. I hope that once when I'm start inspiration will come back to me! But I found that as long as I stay away from scrap it's become harder for me to come back to it.
From other side, now is the perfect weather, before the heat to hit here and lock us inside. So I'll try to be out as much it's possible.
Also after previous month was for physical clean, this month I want to make kind of mental cleaning. There is hundred of files waiting for formatting and save. Books who are started and left. Old stuffs which wait their 'ceremonial burning', but I need to check them carefully once again. Such kind of things.
Yep, it's not something new or exciting, but is what makes me happy! So I'm curious to compare with yours Spring's plans!

So yesterday's posts:

Chris, Happy belated Birthday to Gary! Wish him a lovely year! Sounds fun so many bdays so close, party time!!! I'm sure you'll make great cards!
Are you try to talk with this lady with the little dog? Some people just aren't so sensibility on this topic. As me for example, I'm on corner so I'm reconciled that my fireplug is favorite spot, it's not a big deal! But of course I have a happy fence and don't care what happen outside. Living in farm area there are also cow and sheep walking down the street daily, so dogs aren't impressive.

Trudy, sounds nice to have your 'private pool' ! Oh, no, so bad about the smileys, I loved them! Especially that with coffee bath, looks like it don't work now?!

Jean, exciting to find new supply to use! Tell us, please, when post something new in your blog! I want to see these watercolor pencils!

Kay, have fun with your son! Oh I'm so excited to see how you use your yard at summer, this makes me feel curious and dumb at the same time! I googled Raywood Ash tree and it's looks so pretty in autumn, hope you'll to be able to have one! Great for the saved file, always frustrating to lose years of work with one wrong option!

Nancy, I need to read this book too! One of the things I love to blame my english friends is that they eliminate all wolves on the island. For the continent is no sense to don't have wolves, but yes hunters are awful disrespectful to their seasonal needs and often put their population in risk. I guess it's in a human nature to can't share space, even this which don't belong to them.

AND
Previous posts in summary:

Trudy, the painting is fabulous! Love this wild sea! And I love your paintings in the coffee shop exposition and I'm sure someone will recognize them and take it home! How going the project with salmon painting?!
Pfuu, I hate the pollen allergy, I also feels my to start, but rain gives me few more days than usual, so I'm grateful for that! Aww, I love to watch landscape shows, but can't imagine to allow other to work in my garden instead me! My dad build our house all alone. And I can't imagine what kind of husband will allow professional assistants to mess in his kingdom?! I thought professional landscapers work only in houses prepared for sale. Are these your bad neighbors or good one?!

Jean, ok, some people thinks that dandelions are similar to Wild Rocket, which sounds ridiculous to me! I love Wild Rocket salad and I seriously doubt they are similar. So my question is did you use your dandelions? I'm afraid that mine are only for decoration, I love their fly and the making wishes on them (this is irish tradition if I don't mistaken), it's kind of hurting me when I have to mow them, but don't have way just to surround.
Your family history scrapbook page book sounds so interesting, and I'm sure they will love it!

Nancy, how is Luther's ear infection? Any improvements? I hope so! Hope the time only with your husband to be fun, I bet you need it! Looks like your son is in vacation mood as most of my friends too :( . And it's not even summer yet.

Kay, hope the PSE programs to stop make you problems and you be able to have more scraping!

Chris, love the little things which actually have big meaning , that Cait was doing for you this week! I'm happy to hear that you are able to spend more and more time outside!

Karen, !

I can't believe how fast the morning went. Better to run now, because can start to rain any minute! Hugs and kisses to all! Have a lovely lazy/energetic weekend depends of your wishes! :cofbath:

Thanks, everyone for the b-day wishes for Gary, I will pass them to him this morning!

Kay- I am glad that you were able to figure out how to fix the extensions on your pages. Isn't it funny how a change in routine can mix things up? Have a great visit with DS!!!

Trudy- I wonder where everyone was by you? Spring fever hitting, perhaps. Are you ready for your busy weekend?
Hope the Bruins continue to play well.

jean- I am going to follow you as a weather forecaster instead of the people on the TV. Guess what I woke up to this morning? Clouds and fog LOL
Were you able to get some watercolor pencils? My MIL had me try them a couple of years ago. She had given up on trying to teach me how to quilt and was showing me some watercolor techniques with pencils instead. I was better at that than I was at sewing but not by much hahaha!!!!
Hope you got what you needed and have fun playing with it all.

xoxo

Morning, all. Yes, DSon#1 arrived last evening. He ran into traffic after getting into the state, so was slowed down and took an hour longer than usual for the trip. We sat up talking from 9 to 11 PM. He is still asleep so I snunck in here for a quick hello. It is so good to see him again. It has been 7 months - a very long 7 months. Think most of the family will be here most of the day, then on over to DD#1's for supper tonight. He will be leaving on Monday, so going to squeeze in as much visiting time with him as possible.

I hear him stirring so will just say HI EVERYONE and go get breakfast started.

Nothing going on here. Big news is that I managed to wash Joey at the local dog wash. So much easier on my back than squatting in my shower with him. lol He is now white not grey ha ha
I have some new kits I want to use at some point today. I am so slow putting pages together.
Joey killed a big patch of grass outside our place so I bought some soil and seed to bring it back to life. Hopefully it will sprout. Meanwhile he has started another spot! ha ha Dogs!

Hi to all.. have a super day doing what you love.

I had a good time at the meeting this morning then did some research in Swiss records that are online but can only be accessed from certain places like our research library. And on the way home I did visit the art supply store. I got 6 watercolor pencils, several small colored papers, a black mat for my 9x12 drawings so I can see what they'd look like, and since it was on sale, an 11x14 mixed media pad to encourage me to work a little larger. Yesterday I did finish the latest drawing and it is up on my blog. This evening I made chili and we're watching the Bruins.

Chris, too bad Gary wasn't feeling so good but then great he felt better and could go out to celebrate. You must have interesting shortbread recipes to have such different effects. I'm sure it feels good to have made the new ones for Gary to enjoy. I'm afraid today's weather wasn't much different from Friday, but a little better. The new flying bat will be so much entertainment for all of you as long as J doesn't get ahold of it. Much better than having the real thing in the living room (as we did once).

Felis, hello! Good luck with the "mental" cleaning that you described. Doesn't sound like something I'd like to do as I'm rather a packrat. Hope the rain held off now that you have pleasant temperatures. Where will your sister take a vacation this time? Hard for you to go away with all the furbabies even if you wanted to.

Kay how sweet you snuck in to let us know DS was there and you'd had a good evening to talk. It'll be such a boon to you having family together.

Hope some of us at least get some nice weekend weather.

Oh, we had a wonderful day yesterday. DD#3 came down just after noon so she could visit with Son#1. He happen to have his laptop with him and it is the same HP as hubby's. I was missing the power cord for the laptop so Jim tried his cord and it worked. That allowed me to get mine [hubby's old one] charged. Didn't find the cord in any of the places that DH had put cords. Turns out that Grandson-in-law had an extra one so he gave it to me. Yea... now I can use it. GS-i-L is going to wipe the files on the Laptop [and also DH's tower] and reinstall software, change owner and password so I can start from scratch and load my software and files on both to use as a backup if/when my tower has to go into the shop. It is wonderful to have computer grues in the family!!

We had a great time at DD#1's at family dinner. She fixed home-made spaghetti with Italian sausages. Her mother-in-law who was Italian taught her how to make it. It was so good!!! I made a huge bowl of fresh veggies salad - ended up with enough left that we will have it for dinner tonight. Think most of the family will be over here today for another visit with Jim. He will be heading home tomorrow. Will hate to see him go but so glad he was able to come. The kids surprised me by starting to plan a trip and party over Thanksgiving at Jim's for my 80th birthday. I haven't seen his new house so it will be a double treat for me. We laughed at Jim as he was as surprised as I was at the plans for family descending on him for that holiday. As he said... the door is always open for us to come visit him.

I need to get my shower while Jim is still sleeping. I know this will be a fun-filled day with family. Catch with the personals once he has left. Have a good day!

Morning everyone! I have been having a busy weekend as usual. Outside for most of the day yesterday. Helped DH load the truck with our old oven and lots of yard waste, grass clippings etc to take to Bings Creek Recycling Depot. That is one job that was good to be done with! Our usual running errands and getting groceries of course. DH took me out for brunch. We thought we would go to Saison's where they make the most amazing omelets and you can sit outside surrounded by vineyards. Sadly it has not opened for the season yet and won't be open until June 1st  So we went to the Cowichan Valley Inn and had a really good omelet there instead :hungry: Watched the Bruins win their hockey game last night, it was a good day!! Today we need to bottle white wine and then we are hoping to get to the new Avengers movie and maybe a trip to Michaels for some paint.

Chris - What a nice day you must have had with your family for Gary's birthday!! Great gift for him from the fur babies and now you have a flying bat in your house, year round!! LOL. I bet your Gary is happy with his shortbread too! Real shortbread is so buttery good!! So glad that he was feeling better and you all got to go out for dinner! Hope you have a great visit with your parents and enjoy those bagels!! :hungry:

Felis - Yes I am sad that the smileys are no longer able to be used, still don't know what happened there :noidea: Thank you for the nice comments on my paintings, I have started working on the salmon painting, but finding it difficult to really get into it! I want to do my other paintings LOL. So I will have to buckle down and get busy with it and just concentrate on finishing that project! I hope that you are enjoying your purging of old things, it is always good to clean out stuff, it makes the soul feel refreshed!!

Jean - How nice to have the new supply of watercolour pencils and papers!! You will be a happy artist!! I only have 2 watercolour pencils a black one and a white one (boring!!) LOL. They are great for sketching what I want to paint on canvas though! Hope you enjoyed your chili and the Bruins game last night!! It was a good one!! GO BRUINS!!

Karen - glad you now have a more white version of your Joey!! Enjoy scrapping with all your new kits!!

Kay - Such a lovely time with your oldest son! How wonderful that he could get in this time with you! Sounds like you will have another great day with your family, but it will be sad to say goodbye to him!! Nice that you have the Thanksgiving/birthday gathering to look forward to though!

Ok DH is out of the shower and so I better put on another pot of coffee and get some breakfast started. Soon the music will be on and we will be busy bottling wine. Have a great day everyone!

good morning - have been very busy. Friday my DH stayed home and we worked on the house. He took care of the outside as I did the inside. OMgosh what a difference it makes. Luther was off to doggie day care so we could get so much done. It makes me mad at how bad it had gotten but now I have a chance to stay on top of it. It also was good as it was the first hard clean since my knee and I was not sure how it would hold up and it did awesome. And my DH got the lawn in front done before the rains of the weekend came so that too was great. On Sat I was off to the pool and it was great. The water temp has been perfect. Then went to my DIL who had a CD from her dad of lots of our group. They are awesome so now can make more pages LOL. I also need to do some more pages from the DILs. My DH had to go to work on Sat. and then when he came home I was walking down to meet him with Luther. Well we have the worst sidewalks in our town and I tripped and went down. Luther was right there giving kisses. I was scared I did something to my knee but nope everything is good. Not that I want to fall but it sure makes me happy that my knee is stronger than I would have thought. Watched lots of hockey and scrapped.

Chris happy belated birthday wishes to your Gary! So glad he felt well enough to go out for dinner. Cait's gift is so fun! Glad you are feeling better each day! Sat afternoon was lovely but now this rain is the pits. Have fun with everyone this am!

Trudy I watched the Bruins game and wow what a third period. They almost gave that game away. It was exciting. Glad you had such fun with brunch! And he really does keep you busy. Have fun with the wine!

Kay that is so awesome with your visit with your son! So glad he was able to help with the computer. It is so nice! Have lots of fun with your kids today! Takes lots of photos to have fun scrapping when it over.

Kathe my DH had to wash our dog on Sat as they were near the river and Luther saw ducks and had to go after them. It is nice to have a clean dog. Have fun with the new kits!

Jean I am so glad your meeting went well and you had access to new Swiss data. Glad you weather improved.

Felis glad your weather is improving. Have fun with the mental cleaning. Luther is mostly done with ear infection. This time of year is just the pits for those that suffer from allergies and Luther is one that suffers.

Have a great day!

Much nicer weather, mostly sunny today. Nothing exciting today, just usual weekend stuff but also hopefully time in my studio with the new stuff.

Kay what a lovely time with DS and rest of the family and exciting plans for the visit. Nice added benefit with the computer help.

Trudy, your busy weekends make me cringe with all the work you two get done while I'm so lazy. Music to bottle wine by? Bet that is nice.

Nancy, so sorry you fell. Can only imagine how scary that was but wonderful to learn that no harm was done and the new knee is strong. Super that you have more photos to scrap with.

Have a good one!
