A very blessed and thoughtful Memorial Day to all who have been lost for our Country. May every year bring more peace so that someday we will not be adding to that long list. :(

I hope that anyone who is attending parades, services, and BBQs this weekend has them today if they live on the East Coast. Lots of clouds and rain for Sunday and Monday but today should be perfect. My dad's Fire Department has a parade and BBQ for the community every year and it is today. Christopher will be going just like my kids did when they were little.

Yesterday was successful in the party prep for next week. My mom and I sat down, hashed it out, and made a lot of progress. we ran over to the dollar store for some decorations when I remember that I never got anything for Cait's graduation, my brother's and Arlene's birthday. Thank goodness for Amazon Prime. Iknow it is expensive to have that yearly subscription but it has saved my butt more times than I can count for shopping. I got home and ordered t-shirts for each of them. Free shipping and will be here on Tuesday. Wednesday if there is a delay because of no mail on Monday.

The crazy moment of the day was getting a text from Gary that W's lead broke and she took off again. I was just getting close to home so my mom dropped me off on the street where she goes, she drove around, and Gary and I were calling for her. I was so happy to see her down the one street by the creek. As soon as she saw us, she ran right over to us, half of the lead dangling behind her. We know where she likes to go when she runs, but dammit, we are too old and out of shape to be chasing her. No tot mention we are terrified that she will get hurt. I know that she was a stray and probably has better survival skills than we know but still.:(

I am going to get outside early today, I have a lot of weeding along the front and side of the house to do. Gary was working more on the patio and I will have him drag one of the old picnic tables from the backyard up front to get scrubbed. Tomorrow and Monday will be rainy so I can clean inside.

Enjoy your Saturday!

Felis- how nice of your "acquaintance" to share her tablet with you. Looks like she is becoming a good friend. :)
I love seeing the flowers in bloom, and I bet that walk was very good for you! Hope that Tiny didn't need a bath after the muddy walk. How is Macho doing, getting used to being inside yet?
Thanks for liking my How I Met Gary story. It is one that warms my heart every time so I love to share it even as people around me are sick of it. We didn't make it to the garden center yesterday but we are going have Scott pick some of from his job tomorrow.

Hope that you enjoyed watching your series!!

Jean- It feels like summer is here too, at least for today hahaha! You never know what it will feel like in 48 hours. Yay for getting some scrapping done!

Nancy- hope you had a wonderful anniversary!

Trudy- argh! What a mess about Shaw not showing up on time. That is crazy, especially since you knew the family was coming. At least they were nice and friendly. Enjoy your time with the kids!!

I adore what you said to Felis and ITA!

love to all!!

good morning - It is the start of the the unofficial beginning to summer and today is like mid July with temps in the upper 80s and high humidity. And then back to dreary spring for Sunday and Monday. Oh well. I think that Monday will be rain free for the town's parade. My son is having his BBQ on Sunday not sure what will happen with rain. Yesterday was so fun. We got up took Luther to doggie day care and headed to my favorite birding spot. It was a spectacular day! We saw such great birds. Lots of my favorite birds, common yellow throat is one of my favorite warblers, skimmers which I think are so so cool, terns, egrets, lots of red winged blackbirds. We saw lots of shore birds which I find so hard to decipher but I did see willets and they were doing all this posturing which was so cool and ruddy turnstones which are so colorful. The rest are small LOL peeps. Then we had a wonderful Greek dinner that my son paid for. How sweet was that. Now to get to scrapping some of the photos. Oh yea I am also going through hockey withdrawal as the Cup Final does not start until Monday and I have to say that the two teams that will be competing are the ones I had hoped would be there so while I will be cheering for the Golden Knights if the Caps win I will be happy for Ovi.

Chris glad you got so much of your party figured out. That has to lower the stress level. Then of course your W gets to raise the stress level. That is just amazing how she runs off yet comes back when she sees. I guess she does not think this is a bad thing. Enjoy the outside time!

Trudy have a great time with the grands! Chocolate chips in pancakes sounds pretty sweet!

Felis I hope you enjoy Riverdale. I am watching the final episodes of season two. I really like this show. It is dark. That is amazing to have such a good friend.

Jean and Rae - hope you have a great weekend!

Hello girls,
it was drizzle Saturday, so not much done outside and I watched few episodes of Riverdale, yey! Thank you so much for tell me for it Nancy, it's awesome! I also plan to watch both seasons, because I'll see my friend at Friday, so she is give me enough time. I really don't know how to look on that favor, we aren't close at all, but she told me she often do things like this for the people. All I know is that I'll make her gift for grateful. :) Maybe book because next Saturday is the big book sale, I'm so excited! Actually it's during the whole week, but mom wants to come too, so we decided to go at the weekend.Of course Tini will come too  :) , but dad will keep her at a dog park till we shop.

This reminds me, Chris, I could not understand you are you reading Cassandra Clare now? Which series? And did you liked it? Oh, Macho is such a naughty boy, he makes me many problems and show bad behavior, but this is game of nerves and I have to win. It's difficult to be prisoner when you was raised free. Sounds like W is on the same opinion. I guess she have just too much energy and wants to running around free. Bad that she run on the street instead of the forest behind your house! I also would be worried that can be hurt from human or hit by car, no matter that I'm watching how smart and cautious are the street dogs here. Oh, T definitely needed bath yesterday (and I will not mention how looked our shoes too), but she live with us at the primary house, so she take bath after every walk anyway.
How good that your mom is help you so fast to check many of the tasks for the party and reminded you for the gifts!

Nancy, great bird list and it's sounds like a lovely day! I'm so happy for you! I hope to not have rain on your son's BBQ! I know how much you love this meetings and how good he is in grilled, so I keeps my fingers crossed that the weather will cooperate!

Jean, I feels like the summer is here too, not so much because of the weather, but because the roses bloom. Unfortunately I can't take a shot of the blooming neighbourhood, because people here considering as a suspicious when someone take a pics of their property. Of course I can first to ask or to sneak, but it's not came on my mind at all. I saw your beautiful weekly pages, great work!

Trudy, hope that your son fixed the printer! I can't understand why always have to be so annoying to deal with these peripheral devices  . But I'm sure you have lot of fun with the kids which is fixed your mood. Thanks again for the nice words to me !

Rae, !

So, girls, it's sounds like Memorial Day is a big thing, so have fun on these parades, events and BBQs! :hungry:

It is 8 am, been up since 6 and already the day is wonky.
Neither Gary or I slept well last night since the dogs were barking and unsettled for a long time. On the bed, off of the bed, run to the living room, bark a bit, run back to the bed, bark a bit. My plan for today was to clean and dust my bedroom but that changed after Scott dropped a full jar of pickles on the floor as he was trying to make lunch to bring to work. Now my kitchen smells like pickles!

My yard is looking so much better after I weeded along the front and side. I still have a lot more to do and by the time I am done, it will need to be done all over again. But I was happy to be outside especially since it is going to rain today.
I made a nice dinner, Gary and Scott said to put it in the make again batch. It was pasta with lemon and feta sauce, topped with asparagus.

Today, my plan (FWIW!) is to clean the kitchen and maybe dust my bedroom.

Have a great Sunday!

Nancy- my BFF is spending the weekend in Seaside and I am insanely jealous even if the weather is crummy today. Friday and Saturday made up for it! I hope that the rain holds off so your son can have his BBQ. The birding sounds phenomenal- were you at Sandy Hook again? One more day until the Cup starts, you can do it!

Felis- that is great to hear that you had a fun day even with the drizzle and that you enjoyed Riverdale. The friend sounds like she is a very sweet person and I hope that you will get to be better friends. I think a book would be a nice gesture as a thank you.
I finished the first book in Cassandra Clare's latest series. Right now, I am reading the latest Stephanie Plum novel and after that, I will read the second book in the CC series. Caitlyn said the same thing about W needing a place to run. She likes the park as long as there aren't many dogs. I would like to bring her one day this week during the day when there won't be.

Trudy, Jean, Rae, and everyone who pops in-- wishing you a wonderful day!

good morning and it had been raining all night and into all day. It may stop by the afternoon but my son is going ahead with the BBQ and I love that food so I am happy! My DH also went grocery shopping as his son asked him to bake desserts so he made these yummy cream cheese frosted brownies and coconut chocolate chip cookies. For some reason the coconut keeps these cookies moist which is how I love my cookies. He is a great dad and a great baker. Yesterday I did a lot of scrapping. I am using Anna's templates to finish up my NJ Devils album now that their season is over. The only thing I have to wait for is the awards ceremony as two of my players are up for awards and have a great chance of winning. Taylor Hall is up for the Hart Trophy as the MVP and Brian Boyle for the Bill Masterson Trophy for overcoming hardships. I hope to finish it up today and tomorrow and then wait until June for the ceremony. Now for some sad news came my way late yesterday. One of the young men that helped my family when we were doing TaeKwonDo committed suicide. It is just sad but even worse is that his older brother committed suicide several years ago so now his mom has lost both of her children to suicide. She is so nice in fact the whole family is wonderful so you never know the demons within.

Chris yesterday was so nice. Glad you had fun outside. And yes even if today is rain yesterday was worth it to be at the beach. Sorry you could not be at the beach. How fun to find a dinner that both of your boys liked. That is a real win! That is a bummer that Scott dropped the pickles jar!

Felis I am so happy that you are like Riverdale. Enjoy the two seasons. I finally finished up season two and the cliff hanger is really good! Sorry that you had rain hope it clears and you have fun shopping for the book!

Waving to Trudy, Jean, Rae!

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. It's been a busy week (duh, when is it not with my life?). Yesterday I popped into a few garage sales before heading to the hospital and found 5 small spice jars inside stainless steel bottles with adjustable pouring holes (big and small) which will be perfect for my spice blends I've been making. They are pretty enough that I can set them out on the back of the stove to quickly grab when needed. Yay...it was $2 well spent. I also got an oval shaped stainless steel slotted spoon for $1 that's perfect for digging out the beets and artichokes from the jars (I eat those pretty much everyday in my salads). Then I found a book for B for 50 cents, so $3.50 got me some great treasures. We had a wonderful afternoon watching movies and stayed with B while she ate dinner (using the spice blend I have been bringing to her). She loves it. By 6:30 she was exhausted and we tucked her into bed, turned out the lights and went home to have our dinner and take Taz out for a walk. By the time I sat down at 9:00 I was exhausted, so an hour of TV and I was falling asleep.

In a minute I am heading out to do a bit of weeding in the garden, then shower, off to the produce store for veggies (to roast up tonight and put in the fridge for the week). Food prep on Sunday has become crucial for me, it's the only way I can make it thru the week with our busy schedule.

I'll come back later tonight and read thru all the personals. I better get going and get that gardening done. Have a great day, everyone.

Hello ladies,
I wasn't sure did I have to post today, because these days I'm so boring. It's rain again and nothing happens, a lovely lazy day. Actually something funny is that I caress one of the street dogs, and he was so sweet start to walk after us and to pretend it's with us on walk. It was heartbreaking to have stop and shush him, but if he follow me to our fence Biggie will gone mad. He is forget that was on their place. I wish I could take care for more dogs! So the dog left and after one street he shows again and bring one more dog friend as they were saying: '''see we have your own business, we don't need you''. And they cross my road again and gone somewhere to play. Sweeties!

Chris, did you found why your dogs was upset, are you have storm or some neighbor car alarm? So bad that you can't sleep qualitatively! Hope you have enough energy to finished planed clean up! Ugh, better don't ask me how my yard looks like after whole week of drizzle. We was perfectly weeded it previous weekend, but now don't have even sign from that. Our mower is electric, so I can't use it when is wet and not much to do at this weather. I think the third book of The Mortal Instruments was my favorite. Really cute scenes between Magnus and Alec, but it was long ago when I read it, so I'm not exactly sure. To be honest Stephanie Plum Series respect me with too many books and it's never been in my list. Are they interesting?

Nancy, ughh of course rain! I'm small confused how your son can "going ahead with the BBQ", isn't this that you make outside as a garden party?! These desserts sounds so delicious coconut and chocolate are my absolute favorites.
Oh, so bad about this poor woman, what a terrible loss! Are her boys been at one of these strange groups which makes suicide as a cult? Actually is not our business, sorry! Condolences!

Rae, these spice jars sounds cool and very useful! Is B appetite better? I hope so!

Trudy and Jean :waving: !
