Today feels like Saturday #3. LOL
No school on Thursday or Friday for Caitlyn and Leah was here Thursday and Friday, so it has felt like the weekend already. And now-- we have a 3-day weekend for Memorial Day. I am gonna be soooo confused on Tuesday!
ha!!!

More sunny skies here, but we are already getting drought warnings. Even though we got a lot of snow, it stuck around for so long, then it got warm all at once and it ended up running off instead of soaking into the ground. That is not good for anyone, but especially those of us with wells.

US friends, do you have any Memorial Day Plans? When my kids were little (actually this is going back to when my brother and I were little and we would march with the Brownies and Cub Scouts), there is a Parade sponsored by my dad's fire dept and town and after the parade and memorial service, there is a picnic with rides on the fire engine through the lake area. We loved this as a kid, my kids loved this and now my brother and SIL take Christopher.
As you can imagine, my Dad eats this up! He doesn't march anymore, but he will do a lot of the prep and serving food and going on the truck with the kids. I wish I could be there again, but it is too much for me.
Not to mention- we have Scott's Birthday Round #2. No idea what time this is happening, my ILs said they would call when they were on their way. Thank goodness we are almost to the end of May. I only have my anniversay and Relay for Life left, and then my brother's b-day, Father's Day and lastly, my b-day in June. (throw in the requisite drs appts of course :D)

I have not been feeling too good, very Lyme-y, which I guess is to be expected now that I am back on abx for a week and a half after being off for a month. On top of it, I am pretty hormonal as well. I guess my ovaries have gotten out of "shock" and are ramped up and ready to go. Go where, you ask? No freaking clue! :fencing:

Jaida's appt went well, she gained another pound, and will be around 50 well full-grown.That is the perfect size dog for me. She is doing really great with training, and is getting along better with the cats. Everyone is starting to co-exist nicely. yay!!!!

That does it for me. Hope that you all have a wonderful day!

nancy- I love hearing about how you and your sister laugh so much! Great idea for a Pandora bracelet. My SIL got me a "fake" one and I have a bunch of cute Mickey and Minnie charms on it.
How cool to see the helicopters and Osprey take off.
41 years! That is awesome!!!!!!!! Do you have any plans this weekend to celebrate?
PICC Line seemed to be better yesterday, still not fully open, but much better. I'll keep using the heparin and keep my fingers crossed.

Jean- so glad to hear that you are enjoying your trip and getting to see lots of birds!

Trudy- the weather is getting weirder and weirder. Although as a jersey Girl, it seems weird that people *don't* get thunderstorms. Really cold here again, and Gary turned the heat on for an hour b/c is was so cold last night. And up to 80* on Tuesday. weird, weird, weird!
We have so many sketch books and paint and art supplies here that I really should just try it out. What could it hurt? Maybe my eye after I stab myself with a pencil or paint brush for making such a mess of it LOL
Ugh! That sticks about Mason's gift :( I hope that she can find something else for him easily.

Sharon! GMTA-- I thought Nancy meant the bird too!
Yeah, Scott is a kid at heart, so is Gary, so you see where my kids get it from. My mom got him a solar lit pink flamingo and he put it out in the garden already. I need to get a picture of it.
Tanned legs! whoo hoo! It is so hard for me to not want to lay out and bake myself. i love being tan.
How awful for the mscraps member's loss. We are watching a show on Netflix and the mom loses her DD and I can't even watch scenes like that. I am glad that you were there to counsel and hold her up. Hugs to you too, the double loss for you must be incredibly difficult.
ITA about the pet burying. I am sure that we are "technically" not allowed, but where else am I going to put the dead rats/cats. Obviously, we can't bury an animal that we had put down, not anyone large like out dog and rabbit. So we have a couple of them with us here and a couple not. But would like markers for all of them.

Hope that you and Trudy get that swim team going, would love to see it!

Good morning - It is sunny and windy. Today is just a lazy day until 4 pm when we meet for our DIL birthday. We are going to Benihana - I can wait. I will get in a good walk to build up my appetite LOL. I am going to be needing a lot of walk this weekend as there will be more good food at the BBQ. Rex and Ashley are here again and he is still a sweetheart. He has been outside and still loves playing ball. Cat still hides in the upstairs. I will of course be watching hockey. The Eastern conference is tied so I have at least 2 more games and the West still has at least two game. So I am happy LOL. I taped an awesome show on nature The Sage Brush Sea. If you see it I totally recommend it.

Chris glad you had a day of rest! Have fun today! It is crazy weather cold now and by middle of next week in the mid to upper 80s. I am looking forward to these warm temperatures. I can't believe how busy your are with all these events!

Sharon LOL did not mean to take away those extra years of wedded bliss. Yes you will have to think of something special for your 50th. Sorry about the golf. Cant wait to hear how the move goes. And I would love to see you and Trudy's swim team. It would be awesome!

Trudy what a bummer about Mason's gift. It is always we adults who feel guilty when the birthday boy is happy with what ever he receives especially at his age. I did not realize that you all did not get thunderstorms. I thought everyone gets them.

Jean so glad you trip is going well.

Have a great day all!

Happy Saturday ladies!! Up waay to early this morning, but my window was open and the birds were making a terrible noise. The neighbours cat must have been out and scaring the poor birds to death. We are headed up to my brothers house on the river. He is the one that goes to Australia every year. We are very close, I hardly know my other two brothers, they are much older than I am and were almost ready to leave the house when I was born. But my brother Tom and I have been close always  Anyway his son and DIL and granddaughter are visiting from Australia and we finally get to meet little Lottie. She is two and just a bit older than my grandson Mason. I have gotten her a little gift and can't wait to also see my nephew and niece-in-law? (Is that right?) It will soon be my brother and SIL's anniversary so I should stop at the florist and grab some flowers also.

Chris - Such a busy time of year for you!! Hope you are taking it a bit easy this weekend and let the others do the dishes and such. Sorry you are feeling so lyme-y hope it clears up soon so you can enjoy your company and round #2 of Scotts birthday! I say give the painting a try, what can it hurt?? You will probably surprise yourself at how good you really are. Glad to hear that Jaida is gaining weight and starting to get along better with your other pets!

Nancy - Too funny that we all thought that you were talking about a bird when you saw the Osprey :becky: Enjoy your walk and your evening out, sounds like lots of good food and company are on the menu! Heather has already found the item she wanted to get for Mason's birthday at another store so hooray!! Enjoy all the hockey, I am sure that DH will be watching some this weekend too! About the thunderstorms... well its not that we never get them, its just that they are very few and far between. To have one in the middle of the night is a very rare thing for us!! We just don't seem to get that hot humid cloud build up like out east.

Hi Jean, hope your having a great time on your trip!

Sharon - Isn't it funny that you are getting a tan now, I have been the same the past couple of years. I never get a tan, just red then it goes back to white LOL. But lately I have been getting pretty brown, it must be something that happens when we get older?? Anyway I am enjoying having a tan for a change. Hope you are having a fun weekend!!

Ok hubby is up and I am starving, so going to get some breakfast going. Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!!

Lazy Saturday for me. So grateful. Seems like I've had to be up early and on the go every day this week.

Chris, your May/June is sure jam-packed. I know you enjoy all the social stuff, but I sense you are looking forward to enjoying the memories! LOL

As usual, we avoid crowds, so won't be doing anything particular over the long weekend...except I will get to laze about Monday instead of going to the pool since it will be closed.

We had a Geezer Date yesterday...afternoon movie. Saw Far From the Madding Crowd. I loved it (except for the sheep disaster scene near the beginning). It has probably been 35 years since I read the book, so can't say how close it followed, but it was just so gorgeously filmed, and actually quite well acted, that I enjoyed the movie for itself. Of course, BBC was involved with it, and they usually do wonderful work. Captain Romance says I can't tell any of our friends he went to see it with me, or his Man Card might be revoked. LOL

Thanks for the heads-up on The Sage Brush Sea, Nancy. I hope I haven't missed it. I'll do a search today.

Today is The Big Move for DD's family. Just praying no one gets hurt. They have some really heavy, bulky, awkward stuff. And in the new house, the laundry room is on the top/bedroom floor, so I'm hoping the washer and dryer get upstairs with no damage to the house. When we were young, we never thought about getting hurt when helping friends move. Now, it's all I think about!

All the housework left in prep for tomorrow is cleaning bathrooms. That's a cinch. Should have it done in 20 minutes. But maybe I'll pop back under the comforter and enjoy one more slosh of coffee before getting serious about the day.

Anticipating that Trudy and I will be cross-posting again, "HI TRUDY!"

Hello and Happy Sunday to all of you!
I survived Round 2, which was very nice. MIL made mashed red potatoes and I could live on them :hungry:

Aside from a few small things I need to do around the house, I *have* to take it easy today. Have to, even though it looks to be a pretty day outside. Finally getting warmer! Maybe I can find a comfy chair and just read out there a bit. I don't have too much sunny areas in my yard but it has to be better than feeling cooped up in here. I can't do any yard work, I know myself too well. i will try to pull weeds or whatever, and hurt myself all over.

I also need to stay off FB. I am getting green with envy with all of the photos of friends down the Shore. :frog: I'd like to stay that it doesn't bother me, but that would be lying. I am happy for all of them, but it doesn't take away my wishes that I could be there too.

I hope that all of you get to spend the day exactly as you wish!
Hugs!

Nancy- how was your dinner at Benihana? Sounds like things are getting "serous" with Ashley?? I heard that there will be flyovers by Liberty State Park today, will you be able to see them from your house?
Between dinner/walks/hockey- your day sounds absolutely perfect for you :)
heehee! You too! Can't imagine people *not* getting t-storms.

Trudy- I was outside early with Jaida and it was so quiet except for the darn birds! What a racket they were making LOL
How was your time with your brother and his family? When do that head back to AU? In the fall? Wish I could remember stuff better.
Maybe I will give the painting a try. Not like I don't enough rocks around my yard.
Whoo hoo! Great news about Mason's gift, Heather must be very happy!

Sharon- as much as I complain about how busy we are these 2 months and then again in September, you know me too well, I *love* having my family all around!
I don't know what made me chuckle more-- you having a Geezer Date or Captain Romance having his Man Card revoked :pound:
Hope that the family's move made it without any incident.

xoxoxo!

good morning - had a lovely day yesterday - got in a good walk. Played with Rex. Poor Rex scared a jogger who jumped on Ashley car and scratched it. When you know Rex you forget how intimidating he is. He has a low scary bark and he he does not like unknown men coming at her. She had never had to buy gas in NJ and when the gas attendant came to fill up well Rex was not happy. Too funny. She is learning the weirdnesses of NJ. We had a great time at Benihana's. Really good food and really fun talk. Came home in time to watch hockey and of course the game could not end on time but when into the second overtime before the Blackhawks defeated the Ducks. The kids went into the city after dinner. Oh to be young again. Now today it is another walk and then off to my son's for a BBQ. He is smoking pork for pulled pork sandwiches and BBQ chicken. Should be fun. My DH is up making his Ranch beans. I will come home early to watch hockey and maybe go to sleep at a reasonable time. I did get some scrapping so that was good.

Chris hope birthday round 2 went well. Now today again the weather looks good and slightly warmer. How fun that your dad is so involved in Memorial day activities. My DH and I have not missed our town's parade in years. I love watching the school bands and all the Girl and Boy Scouts and all the sports teams. We also have lots of old cars. Makes for a fun morning.

Trudy sounds like you were headed for an awesome day with family! I would love to see Australia but the time in air sounds too long. I am sure you had a great day!

Sharon I love your geezer date! I want to see the movie but I will wait until it comes to my TV. I am thinking I should read the book. Enjoy your meeting today. I know when our son moved I could not really help as everything was so heavy and I agree with you who wants to get hurt.

Have a great day all!

Hope it is a good Sunday for all. We're probably having a somewhat lazy day. Got about 4 inches of rain yesterday and everything is soaked. We do get some birding in, even on rainy days. Best thing for me is getting some of my multimedia drawings done. First one is up on my blog.

Nancy, dogs can be very scary to strangers! Too bad the car was scratched though. Sounds like a good time for you this weekend.

Chris, please DO take it easy. Living on those mashed potatoes? Curious.

As rarely as we go to a movie, Sharron, your geezer date sounds fun.

Trudy and Sharron, can you please take back all this rain from Oklahoma? You need it and they've got enough now here to end their drought.

Enjoy your weekend, everyone.

Morning to you all! It is cloudy and grey here this morning :mmph: We have lots of yard work to do and some more of the fence to paint, so hopefully it will not rain on us today! Had a lovely visit with my family on the river, My nephew an his wife are looking so fit and healthy and happy! My brother and wife are tired I think LOL! Little Lottie is a sweetie and is keeping her gran and pops very busy!! Mostly her pops though, she loves the men and only wants to play with them. So cute!! We talked and talked and learned all about life in Sidney Australia , I don't know how they can afford to live there?? We thought that where we live was expensive, but oh my goodness it is terrible there. The cost of daycare or having a Nanny is through the roof!! Good thing they both have decent jobs! But then some great news from them also, as they are pregnant again and due in December. Grandchild #4 for my brother and SIL and all of them living in Australia.

Chris - I hope that you can enjoy a day of rest and relaxation today!! Find a nice cosy spot somewhere in the sunshine and just veg!!
lotus-smiley.gif
You deserve a day of doing nothing!! Sorry you can't join your friends on the shore, but you can imagine that you are there with them. Sounds like you had a good time with birthday #2, I love mashed red potatoes also, I could have them every night!! :hungry:

Nancy - Ha, Ha, poor jogger must have got a good fright!! Hope the scratch is not too noticeable on Ashley's car!! Bet he remembers her car the next time its parked on the street LOL. Enjoy your BBQ at your son's place today! Sounds like you will have great weather for it! Enjoy your hockey also, I hope you make it home early enough to see your games!

Sharon - Isn't it fun that your DD gets to officially move into her new house!! I hope everything gets there without a scratch or dent and mostly with out anyone getting hurt in the process!! I think I would love to see that movie also! Although not so sure that hubby would like to see it. I really want to see the "The second best Exotic Marigold Hotel" I thought the first one was so fun and colourful, this one is supposed to be even better. But it will be one that I go to alone also :becky:

Ok lots of things to get done today, so hubby will be wanting a big breakfast. I need coffee!! Have a great Sunday ladies!!

Hi Jean  we cross posted LOL. Sorry I don't want the rain just yet, tomorrow though that would be ok! Hope it clears up for you later today!!

OH! In New Jersey you have to let attendants pump your gas???? And I thought Oregon was the only civilized state left. DH always keeps my tank filled. If he didn't, I'd be tempted to drive to Oregon so someone else would pump it for me. In this matter, I AM a princess! I HATE touching the pump handle. It has been so many years since I've done it, the whole system has changed, and I wouldn't know how to do it! New Jersey and Oregon ROCK!

Trudy, congrats on the new niece or nephew. I hear ya about cost of living. My niece in the SF Bay area has decided to have only one child because they cannot afford daycare for any more...then the rising cost of everything as the kids get older.

I didn't know another Marigold Hotel movie was coming out. I, too, will want to see that, but DH liked the first one, so he will want to see this one too, I'm sure.

Not a happy "tale" about the Dog and the Jogger.

Jean, not that I want you to have any more rain, but I'm already tired of the 3 days in a row of gray weather with splashes of rain we've had. I used to be content with our gray, damp weather, but I've been spoiled by Arizona sun, and a couple of wonderful weather-years here. I'm afraid my tan will disappear before I can work on it some more! LOL

Sounds like life is really good for you at the moment, Nancy. Seems like every time I turn on the TV, there's a hockey game on, and I think of you....as I'm switching channels! LOL

Got a BRIEF text from DD that they are "mostly moved in." No details. No internet. But also no word of anyone being hospitalized or furniture falling down a flight of stairs (all the things that mothers worry about!). I hope we can talk on the phone this afternoon.

Chris! VEG!

That's it for now.
