For me, it is also the Birthday Edition! Today is Scott's b-day (26-- that is 100% shocking to me!!) and tomorrow is my BFF/his Godmother. (Also 26-LOL!!!!) I feel like we just breathed a little bit after the big day on Thursday and now was have another big day. Not that we are doing anything for him today, he is working and then going out with friends. Tomorrow he is working but will be home for a late dinner.

I did just about nothing yesterday, aside from making b-day cards for Scott and BFF. I didn't go to get plants since it ended up raining but that is where I am hoping to head to today. FP first, drop that off, and then plants!!! I was hoping that Cait could come with me, the new garden center has alpacas and little goats.
I was able to get the pictures off the cameras and Caitlyn sent me ones that she had on her camera. (ugh, I look so fat) They look like they came out pretty good- the only one that was 100% trash was the one of Caitlyn getting "hooded" by the Dean of her school. I was able to get a few of her friends getting hooded- and they were fine. Hers -- nothing but blur. pfft. Oh well!

Have a great weekend!#kiss

@BrightEyes that's the pits, going to bed and then waking up freezing. BTDT and then have had to wrestle the dogs off of the blankets. How awesome that you were able to get the stands that you were looking for, you have a literal library in your home :D I love to reread books too. That is great news about your temp as well.

@taxed4ever smart of you to wait until your Gary gets the gutters cleaned, and be careful when you start to pick up the yard. I can imagine the conversation you must have with Isaac about superheroes, you are a cool grandma!
Spoke to my mom twice yesterday and all she told me was that she had one of her BP meds changed and that she is very tired. *eye roll*

@bcgal00 Congrats on the microwave getting installed! How is Remis's tummy? Congrats on losing 8lbs too

@Cherylndesigns I adore coleus!! Love the combo of the reds and greens on the leaves. Have fun planting everything left today. I bet you are going to miss Carey- she sounds like a mini-you. It's probably a good thing that she lives far away- the trouble that you, Adrienne, Ava, and Carey would get into. SMH! #devil

Sorry this is so short today, I feel very brain-scattered but have lots to do!

Good morning! Very productive thus far. I finished a layout for Challenge 2. The realtor stopped by...she is doing an open house here from 12-3 which means we need to take the dogs out. We have had showings all week while I have been working in the front office. We have an appointment to look at another home in the development that we want to move to...homes are hitting the mark fast right now and aren't turning quickly. I think we have 4-5 viable options. Just need to sell ours.

@faerywings I saw your FB photos of Cait. She has grown into a beautiful young woman. And was that a photo of her and Scott? Wowzers...he has turned into quite a good looking guy! I don't feel that I can even say "young man" anymore. But calling him a man freaks me out so I'm going with guy! Happy 26th birthday to him!

Yesterday turned into a PJ day as I got side-tracked on a project....

Oh, my aching back!!!! In the afternoon, I ended up pulling a lot of books (not sorted yet just stacked in wherever there was space) from shelves in the 2nd bookcase out and onto the floor and sorted them by author. After four hours, I had most sorted and started arranging them on the shelves. Then decided I needed to Write them down so I could put them into the "new" book inventory on the computer! Well, that slowed down the process alot. Decided to move some of them out to storage on the garage bookcases - so loaded up sacks with those books. They are now out there waiting until I finish with the inside bookcases. Also decided that I would winnow out a bunch of books that I know I won't want to read again. Now I have books sorted by authors and types stacked and lined up on the floor against the TV console. Many of them I haven't read. I need to finish writing down the author/books of the ones on the shelves first before I add more books there. Now that the they are sorted, I will take my time to read some of the 'new to me authors' to see if I want to keep those books before putting them in the inventory/on the shelf. I already have about 5 sacks of books to give away and am sure I will end up with several more before all is said and done. This is what comes from attending those "Bag of Books for $5" quarterly sales at the local library.... I could fit 20-25 books in 1 bag! And their regular monthly sale price (non-Bag-of-books sale) was 50 cents for paperbacks and $1 for hardbacks.

This is what I got done yesterday afternoon. The books are out of the way so I can take my time now that I can see what all is there. Most of the books in the bookcases are paperback - staked 2-3 deep. So they can hold a lot of books. :p Have a feeling that this will be an on-going project for several weeks as I have 4 other bookcases that have books that need to also go into the "new computer" book inventory too. That should give me something to do to fill my time. :rolleyes:o_O:p;):) Been swearing that I would add the book inventory to the computer for the past 3 years as I lost the one I had when the computer crashed on me about 8 years ago.

IMG_2616-smaller.jpg

So I really need to get off the computer and get my shower before it ends up being another PJ day. #crazy

@BrightEyes that makes me feel like I need a nap, just reading about that undertaking! We got rid of so many of my books when we moved to Florida. If we make another move, I think that we will be getting rid of a bunch more! Maybe that's what makes me feel like I need a nap!

Good morning ladies. Yesterday I ended up taking Remi in to the vet b/c she still had bathroom issues. They did testing to see how extensive the toxicity damage was and thankfully it hadn't damaged her kidneys/liver but has irritated her stomach and intestines so she is on medication and GI soft food from the vet. It cost us hundreds of dollars but thank god she didn't need blood transfusion and hospital stay. She hasn't gone to the bathroom at all for over 48 hours but should happen today hopefully. They think a few days of meds, probiotics and different food will get things going on the right track again.

Today I will be home puttering and may take Remi out for a walk later and take my camera. She needs some time with me alone on walks to learn leash manners. She isn't too bad but gets excited and wants to pull ahead. I can't train her when I have two of them on a leash. Taz will be happy to have some time alone with Darrell.

@faerywings I bet all the photos are lovely. I saw some on FB. Enjoy getting out in the garden today. I hope your mom's tiredness dissipates soon.

@BrightEyes So many books and good for you for organizing on your computer. That is smart.

@LSlycord Good luck on the house selling and hunting.

I'm going to get another coffee, play with dream generator a bit and then get on with my day.

Good afternoon all.

I'm lazy today - was planning to go back out and work in the garden, I still have things to plant. It's raining, which I wanted it to so the ground would be softer. It's supposed to stop soon. Braden just stopped in and said it was really chilly. I guess so - it's only 60 degrees. Good digging weather. Haha

Chris @faerywings happy birthday to Scott and your BFF. Scott is SO cute! I loved your pictures on FB.

Yes, the four of us girls could get in a lot of trouble. My back is barking a little today from all the activity, but I'm going to get it done today if possible. I got all of my "herb babies" planted though. I even planted some more sunflower seeds. Hope these come up.

Kay @BrightEyes you sure have gotten a lot done! It must feel so good to be getting everything organized like you are! Glad you're feeling like doing it.

Linda @LSlycord good luck with your home sale. It's hard to keep a house show ready, but worth it when you sell. Homes have always gone quickly down there. Especially now with the droves of people moving there! It's crazy! Even Nancy Pelose WAS going to build a home in Naples. Haven't heard much about that lately, though.

Rae @bcgal00 hope Remi feels better soon. Sorry she's still having gastro problems.

I'm going to go now and see if the rain has stopped. Happy weekend everybody.

@bcgal00 glad things went well with Remi. Well, at least relatively well. And it will be nice to have some one-on-one time with Remi while Darrell gets some one-on-one time with Taz. Like kids I guess...you need to make time for each of them separately. Both of our girls did well today. I sat in the backseat with them while Brian drove...about a 45 minute drive. Andie had her head on my lap and Hayden had her head on Andie. We were quite the sight I'm sure.

@Cherylndesigns can't wait to see photos of all of your plants soon. And cool weather for planting is a good thing! Hope your back feels better...if you get everything planted, you should have a chance to rest. LOL...or not!

My back's really barking tonight, Linda. I got two big pots put in the ground today between the rains. I bought two big pots of Daisies and they're SO pretty!! I have three more plants to get in the ground/pots. The ground wasn't as soft as I would have liked, but I chopped at the dirt until I could get my spade in it to dig my holes. I'm not sure I can plant on the other side, because we put that weed barrier down and I have try to cut through that rubber. I refused to put it on the side that I did all of the planting on. It's a PITA to go through. I just saw Shaun's picture on the beach on FB. Boy, is he gorgeous!!!

HellllllOOO my Lovelies. Finally, we have warm weather. OK, most normal people would say it was too hot/humid but I was happy. Loved it!

I went to the FP and had to joke about how two weeks ago we were freezing and shivering out there. The sun and temps had me so energized that the closer I drove towards the garden center, the stronger the pull was to stop. I was telling myself, put the food away and go back out. Nope, my car pulled itself into the parking lot on its own, and what was a Faery to do? :D
That is my story and I am sticking to it.
I didn't bother getting any veggies other than some grape tomatoes. I got new lavender and some basil. But mostly got flowers. A couple of pots of impatiens and some more bee balm, pink to mix in with the purple I already have. Some cosmos, and some cool silvery-green low-growing plants that I can't remember the name off the top of my head.
I think I was outside for over 2 hours and by the time I came in, I was covered in head-to-toe sweat and dirt and was entirely happy about it all.
Big plans today-- to do more of the same. :D First, I have to bake caramel-swirled brownies for Scott's b-day dinner tonight. Gary is making homemade pizzas. Yummmmm.

Have fun today!

@LSlycord Good luck with all of the showings of your house. It has to be so nerve-wracking but you seem very calm about it.
Thank you for the compliments on my kids (who really aren't "kids" waaaah!!!!!!!). Personally, I am not crazy about Scott's longish beard but it's his face. *shrugs* I liked it when it was shorter. But right?? Not even "young man" but man. I'm with you - I like guy (or kid. *sniffs a bit more*)
It has to feel odd to you seeing my kids all grown up since you have known them for years and years! I still get taken about when I see yours grown up too!LOL

@BrightEyes Ummmm, do @Cherylndesigns and I have to come and lecture you about being part of the "Overdoing It Club?" ;) No wonder your back was aching. How many books do you think you have?
Make sure that you pace yourself - set a timer if you need to do that. Otherwise, Cheryl and I will have no choice but to sit you down for a talk hahaha

@bcgal00 I guess that is one way to make friends with the new vet... Poor Remi. She ate onions? Thank goodness it isn't anything more than stomach irritation. give her some tummy rubs and ear scritches from me. And some for Taz too!

@Cherylndesigns 60* is freezing! Well, compared to what you were having but if you are doing a lot of digging, better to be cooler. Did the rain stop for you to be able to get out there?
Thx for the sweet words for Scott and Caitlyn. I started to scrap one of Cait for the Border challenge.
Look what I did for Braxton!

Oh, what's Braxton's degree? In osteopathic medicine?

Just finished the re-watch of season 2 of Stranger Things. Will not be ready with season 3 before Friday & the release of season 4, I guess. Working tomorrow & on Wednesday I'm going to a "play date" with work. We're going to an Afternoon Tea. I'm seriously excited for this. I've been wanting to try a proper afternoon tea for ages. I'm sure my expectations are too high, and I will be disappointed. LOL

Been sort of lazy the last few days. Some mishaps with my medicine prescription messed up my head. I mean they can mess with any of my meds but not my ADHD meds. I go mushy brained in like 2 seconds. Had to be without the meds for 24 hrs.

Today I've been trying to finish some of all my UFOs when it comes to knitting & crochet. Those UFOs are sure a clutter that is annoying. Today I've unraveled 1 sweater and 1 poncho that I wasn't satisfied with. It's like getting new yarn in my stash again. Then I meant to add buttons to a cardigan I've knitted, but I couldn't focus on that while watching the season finale of season 2. Gotta watch something less intense, and then I can get those buttons fixed. LOL Thinking baby steps of weaving in ends etc will eventually clean up a lot of space in my yarn closet (and all the other places I store yarn LOL)

Bought this pattern today - I love the look of the sweater!
I think I'm gonna see if I have any suitable yarn and make a toddler size version first, before I make one for myself. Bought another pattern resently, where I started with a sweater for myself, and now I'm struggling to get the arms right. Should have tried a smaller size first.

For dinner today, I will cook some rice, and then we have leftovers from yesterday's taco dinner to have with it.

Morning, all. Yes, the back is still aching and the legs are getting in on the "don't want to move" too! I did get dressed before noon yesterday. Saw the package of Iris bulbs and decided that they needed to be planted ASAP. The package said there were 4 blubs but could only find 3 as they were clumped together. It was a cooler day (in the high 60's) so a good day to work outside. Planted them in 3 of the 5 pots in the backyard by the patio. Also removed a dead mini tree from one of the pots. This involved getting down on my knees by each pot. UGH!! Think I will look for a couple of already growing lilies for the 2 empty pots. Guess all that kneeling, crawling around, etc the past few days has the body in rebellion. So... today is going to be a DO NOTHING but rest, relax and read DAY. Yes, Chris... I hear you and Cheryl telling me to "take it easy and don't over-do". That is pot calling the kettle black! #devilI was planning on going to the base to get groceries and Rx refills tomorrow but think I will take an extra day to recover. I did decide to call a different yard guy and left a message for a callback on Sat so should wait to see if he calls on Monday. As to how many books I have... LOL... must be in the hundreds judging by the long out-of-date paper inventory I had done years ago. Really need to get it brought up-to-date.

@faerywings I love seeing the graduation photos on FB. Good to see the one of Scott and Cait. LOL over the comment about you preferring the shorter beard on him... but he likes the longer one! And the one of Braxton is hilarious. Glad you got to spend some time outside in the yard. I know you love being outside and doing that.

@Cherylndesigns Sounds like the cooler weather lured you outside, too. Don't blame you for not wanting to have to cut through the black plastic to plant things. Yes, we have it all over our yard with rocks on top. That is why I prefer to plant flowers, etc in pots. Can't wait to see the photos of all you have done.

@LSlycord Oh, I agree with Cheryl about Shaun's photo... so very handsome! Keeping fingers crossed that you get an offer on your house soon.

@tanteva Glad you are feeling better and able to go to work. Wow, that is a beautiful pattern... it looks so nice and warm. Had to LOL over you unraveling a couple of projects and now it is like having new yarn!

@bcgal00 Poor Remi... so sorry she is having such such a hard time. Yes, it is probably good to do one-on-one with each of the dogs - they are like kids and need that attention. Glad you finally have the microwave installed.

@taxed4ever Hope you and DH can get most of the down limbs and other storm debris cleaned up. Yikes... wouldn't like having DH climb up on a tall ladder to deal with cleaning gutters and checking out the roof. Hope there is no storm damage on the roof.

Need to grab another #coffeeand get dressed. The massager and recliner are calling my name.

Good morning ladies. With the dry sunny weather, the heat feels a lot warmer here than along the coast. It is only 45 but it feels like 70 so this afternoon when it is in the 70's it is going to feel much warmer. I was out on the deck in short sleeved jammies. We had to turn the hot tub temp down as the air is too warm.

Jen leave for Vancouver this morning for 3 days to get her braces changed at the dentist, will get our summer tires and have them put on at KIA and wants to get home as soon as she can. She is not looking forward to going. She said when she gets back on Tues night she wants to hop into the hot tub to relax. Glad she is enjoying the tub as much as we are.

I want to go for a walk later and might bake some pumpkin muffins. I think tonight we'll binge Station 19 and finish up the season.

It'll be a nice quiet day.

@faerywings I can picture you covered in dirt after being in the garden and having a big grin on your face :)

I'm going to get a coffee and go read a few pages of my book which I haven't done much of lately.

Good afternoon and Happy Sunday!

Darn it - Chris @faerywings you cannot help what your car does!!! It drove itself RIGHT to the garden center. Bad Car!! Mine has done that many times, too. What IS a faery to do? Glad you got some pretties and so happy that you've been able to get outside. Yes, the rain stopped and I was able to get outside for a couple of hours. I got my big daisies planted and checked up on all of my sweet herbs. You got lavender! I'd like to have gotten more than one plant, but you take what you can get, right?

I was going to ask you what I can do with Lemon Balm? I ordered Lavender from a nursery via Amazon and they sent me lemon balm instead. I tried to get my money back, but never heard from them so I just planted it. I haven't looked into it yet, but thought you'd know. I'm sure salve is the main thing.

Oh good grief!! You put Cait's cap and gown on Braxton. LMBO!!! You cray cray girl!! I HOPE you're planning on taking him to the party at the firehouse!!! Thanks for the belly laugh!! I can't wait to show Ava when she gets home.

Have a good birthday dinner - homemade pizza and brownies - yummmmmmm.

Kay @BrightEyes - yes I'm a member of The Do As I Say Not As I Do Club. Bwahahaha I've been trying to think of the easiest way to cut through that rubber. I think if I take my big knife out there and just make a big X that might work. I have two more big plants (perennials) that I need to get in the ground. I might hit Braden up to come help me cut through that barrier. I'm just determined to do things myself if possible. I was hoping to get out today and take pictures, but it's very dismal out - not raining, just dismal. It's 60 again - how's your weather?

Rae @bcgal hope Remi is feeling better today.

Eva @tanteva - you're crocheting like a mad woman. Keeping you busy, right? Keeps your mind off "other things".

Bye for now.
XOXO
