It is a big b-day weekend here. Scott turns 20 today. And my BFF will be 29 (again) tomorrow. My due date was May 20 and when I asked her to be the baby's godmother, I said that I was hoping that s/he would share the same b-day. I also did NOT want another Taurus in the house.heh.
I guess we ended up splitting the difference and I ended up with him begin born between the 2 days and is a Taurus/Gemini cusp kid.
i know you all can relate- time flies!!! One day I am :preggers:, next day my baby is 20.
He is funny too, he asked me the other day that once he is 21 and is allowed to buy alcohol, can he keep it in the house? I hadn't though that far ahead but I don;t see why now- as long as he isn't haven't huge parties or buying for underage kids.

The weather here was beautiful yesterday but today we are back to cold and rainy. My mom and I went to the brand new Marshall's that is only 20 minutes away. The last time I was down there, it was still under construction and I didn't think it was opened yet, but yay for googling- it opened on Thursday. We both got new bathing suits, and a couple of tops each and new socks for me. i even let her get me a new candle, Lemon Coconut scented. mmmm!!!!

We were able to pick Cait and her BFF from school, since we were passing near when it let out and they told us that one of the Seniors left school on his motorcycle, was speeding and then lost control or was hit and had to be airlifted out. Stupid! Never speed, car or otherwise... damn kids :(

Today is going to be a hopefully quiet day, tidying up around here, making cards for Scott and BFF now that I have my printer up and running. Chicken and home made mashed potatoes for dinner and my mom picked up a chocolate ganache cake for dessert.

I hope that all of you have a wonderful day!

Morning! More of the same here, I'm afraid, with the weather. Dog needed to go out around 4 am and it was already raining then ... and it's not forecasted to stop at all today. The backyard is already starting to pool up with water (we have a runoff "trench" that goes through our yard from the other four townhouses in our row ... we're at the bottom of a small slope, but that's the way the yards were graded during original construction ... oh yay). Got an errand or two to run today, but I think this is a break out the sweat kind of day and just stay indoors.

Happy Birthday to Scott!!

Kat- Cait got off to a rocky start yesterday. I was driving and she screamed Careful, careful- I slam on the brakes, and it was b/c of a *squirrel.* I had a bout a heart attack and I snapped at her that she couldn't do that and then she started to cry and I was upset and iy yi yi! i think we are so worn down and raw, that it doesn't take much to send us over the edge.
She gets to school and texts me (all caps) that the principal is talking with his mouth full and is making her crazy. Then-- she is eating her bagel and there is a shard of plastic in it, like a really big piece that is in her mouth. Even something as simple and nice as a bagel b-fast turns into drama for her hahah!
The rest of the day was good and she enjoyed being out in the sun with her friends.

Poor Stan, it must be hard for him to express himself under those circumstances. I hope that the pain levels are more manageable today.
Congrats on the ankles!!!! :p

Nancy- good thing that you don't mind walking Luther in the rain, it looks like we are coming up with a lot of rainy days. Yesterday was gorgeous, and I think we broke 70* up here too.
Hope that the stuff with DH and the trellis and all that went smooth yesterday.

Trudy- I hope that the rain came, but not until after you walked back and forth for your car. CRV's seem to be a big choice in my family too. Scott's was my parents (1999, only a few years younger than him) and is still running great.
I would love to see a LO of your hike with a hobbit house :)
OMG- that is crazy about the fire still spreading. Of course, there hasn't been much in the news here about it, being that most Americans have the attention span of a moth. It is ALL Trump, All the time. (BARF!!!!)
Is there any hope of it stopping?

Rae- oops on sleeping late! At least you didn't have to worry about driving into work late.
I hate when updates do that, esp when you need it to be done and now. The trailer sounds so pretty and relaxing. And lots of space for Taz to run! i wish we could let Jaida run off leash but I don't trust her to not run off. Not sure how to teach her to do that though.
Have a great weekend away!

Hugs to all of you!

good morning! It is grey but at least not raining yet so I made a quick run to the store for essentials. Was up late watching hockey of course. Tampa Bay Lightning went out to a 4-0 lead and then the Penguins scored 3 in the 3rd. But Tampa won so the series is tied 2-2 so that means I get at least 2 more games in this series. Today at 1pm the USA plays Canada in the Worlds. We lost already to Canada so not expecting a win I am expecting they put up a good battle. Then at night I get the Sharks and Blues. Good day for me with rain on the way.

Chris say happy birthday to Scott for me. My DIL's birthday is Monday so we are going to the Melting Pot on Sunday. How fun to have your BFFs and Scott's birthday so close to be able to celebrate together. I think everything is better with sunshine sounds like Cait does too! Have a fun time!

Kat our backyard become a pool with lots of rain but I am hoping that since it has been a while maybe it will soak in fast. Hope Stan is doing better and recovery is going well! Enjoy a day in sweats!

Trudy hope you had a good day and got some rain.

Rae it is the pits when you sleep late but I like how Chris put it at least you do not drive to work. Hope you time at the trailer goes well and that the crossing was easy!

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... Well our rain did not amount to much and I packed my umbrella for my walk yesterday morning, but not a drop fell. Today looks like there is blue sky out there even though they have forecasted rain for today. Do any of the weather guys really know whats going to happen?? So I guess we will be watering flowers and lawns today. It was mayhem downtown yesterday as everyone and their dogs were out getting groceries and heading off to go camping for the long weekend. Victoria Day is a huge long weekend for everyone out this way, it means that summer has arrived and its the first real chance to hit the campgrounds and do some fun summer things. DH and I were happy to just be home and get away from all the traffic and craziness. When DH got home he told me that there had already been a murder in the little town of Chemianus not far from us and the weekend has just gotten off to a start. Yikes I feel sorry for all of the police and EMT who have to deal with these crazy people!!

Chris - Happy Birthday to your Baby Boy Scott!! Hard to believe that twenty years has flown by I bet!! Nice that your BFF's special day is so close also! I hope that you have a wonderful fun filled birthday weekend!! Sorry that you and Cait are feeling like you are hanging by a string, it sucks to be female sometimes, its hard enough to have to deal with lyme but then having all those female hormones racing within us makes it so much worse!! Glad that she enjoyed her afternoon in the sunshine and it made her feel better! Nope, no sign of the fires getting under control yet, what they need is a week or so of lots of rain and its not looking good!

Kat - Sending good vibes to Stan and hoping that his pain is much better today!! Sorry you are still getting crappy weather, you could send some of that moisture this way, we sure could use it!! Enjoy your day hanging out in your sweats!!

Nancy - Wow, your day will be filled with lots of hockey!! But what better way to spend a rainy day!! Hope you and Luther get a walk in before the rain hits you! Like I told Kat, you could send some of that :rain: my way. I really don't feel like watering everything today!

Rae - Hope you made it across the Border without much of a line up, but I would imagine that the lines are not as bad with our dollar being what it is. They must be hurting in Bellingham to have a sale that is par with our dollar. Enjoy your time away!!

Ok I think DH is waking up, probably because the neighbours dogs have been barking all morning :gaah: I could just strangle them!!! Better get some coffee going and then get my grocery list made. Sure hope the crowds are much less today at the stores!! Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!

Trudy I forgot to mention that I have been following the fire in Canada. Scottie Upshall who plays for the Blues is from the Fort and wrote a beautiful piece on how scary it was for his brother and SIL to be in St. Louis while their kids were with their mother back home and trying to evacuate. Turns out that the area I was in in Southeast Arizona is now on fire and the roads and Lake Pena are closed. That fire started in Mexico and is now in Arizona. Fires are just horrible even though I know some are good for clearing out forests.

Have a great Long Weekend!

Trudy, you're more than welcome to this weather! The ground is all squishy under foot - blech! But, hey, here's the swing in spring weather - by Friday, it's supposed to a 87 degrees!! LOL

Good morning, ladies. The traffic and border weren't too bad last night so I was at the trailer by 8:30. Had a late dinner of gluten free Chex cereal which I really enjoyed b/c I haven't had a bowl of cereal in 2-3 yrs as I ate very low carb for the last couple of yrs. I relaxed and watched a few episodes of Mr Robot with my hubs and tonight will watch the last 3 of the season. We both like the show a lot. We're heading out soon to shop in Bellingham and Taz will enjoy visiting his store (Petland) and getting some treats. They sell a good salmon jerky that he loves that isn't available in Canada. I'm looking forward to watching tv, scrapping and if I can find some GF crackers, I'll get some dip to enjoy tonight too. I'm looking forward to a nice relaxing night. Taz will enjoy a long walk thru the ranch later when we return from shopping. He loves it out here.

Chris - sounds like a wonderful time with your mom. Glad you found a bathing suit. I hate buying bathing suits. It makes me cringe. Happy birthday to Scott.

Trudy - yes, our traffic was busy yesterday with everyone wanting to get home or get started on their weekend plans. I'm curious to see how busy Bellisfair Mall is today, how many Canadians have come over to shop and mostly I'm curious to see how many stores honor the Canadian at par.

Nancy - enjoy your day of hockey.

Kat - hope Stan is feeling better today. Getting up at 4 to let the dog out, ugh, hope he did his business quickly so you could go back to bed. I hate when Taz wakes me up like that but as a good doggy mom you know you have to respond. I usually lay across the counter by the window just waiting for him to come back thru the door so I can lock it and get back into bed.

I'm going to get off the computer in a few minutes and get dressed so we can head into town. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Happy Sunday!!!! Not that there is any sun here, but it is all good. it will keep me inside and maybe able to work on some scrapping.

yesterday I made my BFF's b-day card and OMG- it is ridiculous! Last week, when everyone was here, I was saying something, trying to do math which is next to impossible since numbers mean nothing but gobbledygook to me (Gobbledygook is actually in the Firefox spell check as correct! Who knew??). She isn't good with numbers either so it has always been a running joke for us. I found a pic of us at her 40th b-day and one of us a couple of months ago. Then I wrote "If 40 is the new 30, then you must be... 37? 57??? 307???" Then "Damn math!!!" "Happy birthday whatever number you are!"
As I am signing the card, I realize that she isn't 47 but 48! Numbers mean nothing!!! :pound: I had to go back, fix the numbers and then print out the new copy. I had to send her both since that will make her laugh at my silliness.

Scott seemed to have a nice b-day yesterday. Thank you all for the good wishes for him. he only worked until 2pm, which was nice. Soon after he got home, one of the girls he works with and my neighbor's son (her boyfriend) came to the door with a balloon and cake. When we were sitting down for dinner, his friend (an ex-GF that he has stayed friends with), her mom and little sister came to the door with hats and noise makers and a cake and sang/yelled Happy birthday to him. That had us laughing hysterically!

Today I *have* to take it easy. hafta hafta!!! (yeah, good luck with that Faery-Princess... ) I have a busy and stressful week ahead. I am cleaning tomorrow, but my client asked if it would be ok to leave her son with me too. He is 8, IIRC, and has some behavioral issues and is on Home Instruction for school. His regular sitter has to leave at 9am, so I will cover until she gets home at noon. He always liked to "help" me so if he wants, I'll give him some towels and Windex and let him go nuts. Tuesday is the LLMD and I am *dreading* that. I feel like such a failure and I know that he doesn't mean it, but he makes me feel like I am never doing "enough" to help the kids get and stay better.
Cait has had a small bump behind her ear and the last week or so it has doubled in size. It feels like a cyst, and it had been added to my list of Dr's visits to deal with when I have time. Now it is even bigger so I will ask him about it and he'll tell me I need to send her to Specialist XYZ and that means I will need to get her in to her GP for referrals and OMG- all I do is go to drs and vets...

Wed is Preschool grad and I am going to that so I can meet Joseph, Caitlyn's little boy. I feel like I know him from so many pictures and stories that she has shared. She is going to be a MESS after that. She adores this kid and this might be the last time she sees him. :(

So yeah, I am already feeling the urge to crawl under my blankets and hide. Why can't the sun come out so I can dig in the dirt with my plants?????
Dirt Therapy should be a Thing. :p

have a wonderful and happy day!! And Happy Victoria Day weekend to my friends to the North!

Kat- this weather stinks!!! Sorry to hear that your yard is pool. You would have though they would have done a better job grading the landscaping, hmmph :(
How is Stan today, hope that he is doing much better, for all of your sakes. Lyme does crazy things to the brain and I have had my share of holes punched in walls too from Gary and Scott.

Nancy- woot that you were able to get Luther out for walks with no rain. Fab day to spend inside with hockey! Enjoy the Melting Pot, that should be a fun celebration.

Trudy- Nope- weather forecasters never seem to get it right any more, do they?
OMG- a murder in a small town, how sad! Not a good start to the weekend for sure. Hope that your town stays calm and that you and your Gary have a relaxing tuime together.
Ugh about the dogs barking. That would make me batty.

Nancy- how nice for the hockey player to write about the fires. Maybe it will bring more awareness to the situation.

Kat- squishy is spot on! The side of my house is more moss than grass and I really was squishing too!

Rae- Taz must be having a blast and I am so happy that you are enjoying some down time!
I am returning the bathing suit- it looked horrible onme!

Jaida needs to go out so i will sign off now.

xoxo!

Good morning ladies. We watched the finale of Mr Robot last night and just relaxed. Slept in until 9 this morning and am just lazing in my jammies. At some point I'll hop in the shower but for now, I'm enjoying just being lazy. The only thing on my agenda today is to spray paint a serving tray, out on the deck. I want to take Taz over to an area of the ranch that is now an off leash area for the dogs. He'll love that. I will scrap and watch some shows and later take a walk over to see some friends who just bought a new trailer and moved away from our street onto the other side of the ranch. They have a dalmatian dog that Taz plays with. BTW, for anyone who barbecues, I recommend buying the grilling sheet. I picked one up yesterday and used it last night. I grilled potatoes and peppers on the sheet, placed over a cookie sheet on the BBQ. They turned out perfectly and nothing stuck to the sheet. Much better than using tinfoil IMO.

Chris - hope you are able to relax and take it easy before your upcoming busy week. Sounds like Scott had a nice birthday.

I'm going to go check the challenges and see if there is something I can work on today. I spent last night downloading some fonts and a few other programs that I have at home but not on my laptop at the trailer. I did all the updates and am ready to get scrapping again. Hope you all have a great day!

Hey ladies... quickly popping in to say
hello-smiley.gif
and hope you are all enjoying your weekend. I have been MIA most of the day today, just doing lots of cleaning and :washing: Last night we had a nice dinner with my sister Pam and her DH and my sister Wendy and her DD Debbie. We had BBQ ribs and sat outside, it was very nice and we enjoyed the visit! Now I need to go find some birthday wrapping paper and get Mason's gift ready for the mail. I have a feeling I will be making a trip to Walmart for some wrapping paper though grrr!! Tomorrow we are off to MIL and FIL's to help buck up a log that washed up on the beach, he should have enough fire wood until the end of time now!! Better get moving, lots to still do including 4 yes 4 bathrooms to clean, and there are only two of us living here. Sheesh I think it might be time to start thinking about downsizing!! (you would have to drag me away from this view though, kicking and screaming !!) Have a wonderful rest of the weekend and enjoy your extra day tomorrow if you are a fellow Canuck!!
