Y'all!! We made it! Woot woot!

*big sigh of relief* It's not like I had all that rough of a week, God knows I have survived worse. It was mostly my head messing with me and I think the weekend will be a nice reset.

Yesterday was a good start fo that. The travel insurance for my mom and I is purchased and we are ready to go. I still had no luck finding anything less expensive but better to be out $90 than $600 if anything happens with my mom's health. Now we only have to worry about hurricanes :D My mom also asked me to look at the gazebo she wanted to buy but couldn't make a decision. She had been talking about buying it for months. And months and months. She was amazed that I could use the Chat Bot on the website to find extra information about it. Her mind was blown when I used Honey to get her an extra 15% off.

Nothing happening here today other than going to the FP. It's supposed to rain most of the day so at least my plants will be happy. I'll be happy too, it will give me an excuse to say inside and take it easy. I was so wound up all week that I couldn't sit still. When I am anxious or unsettled, I *have* to move and it usually ends up with me cleaning. A couple of years ago, I had taken apart the standing fan and was cleaning the fan screen and blades with a toothbrush and toothpicks. My kids saw me, immediately asked me what was wrong. :giggle4:

Anything exciting planned for your weekend?
Hope it a fabulous one!

@vickyday So glad that Mark is feeling better and that you didn't have to cut the bike trip short this time. And the season is just starting too :) Hope you both were able to catch up on housework/yard work yesterday so you are free and clear to enjoy the weekend
Congrats on your Grand #2's graduation! Times flies... it has to be very bittersweet. ♥

@taxed4ever That's awesome about the resin and the painting is finished! We're not surprised that it came out phenomenal, of course, it did. You are so talented. Your client is going to love it!
Did you end up on the lake at all?
Glad that the sunburn is better too. I am more like your Gary, I don't typically ever burn, but recently I'll get pink if I am out too long. My Gary, on the other hand, burns like you do, one reason why he hates being in the sun.

@bcgal00 You gotta be kidding! Your hairdresser has Scissorhands? That's sooo cool! I hope she doesn't clip as fast as Edward did in the movie, you might lose an ear. LOL!
Hope that the fires and smoke are better today, is there any rain in the forecast?
I think everyone has that voice in their head telling them what or what not to eat, at least to an extent. Normal people (using that term loosely hahaha!) can ignore it or adjust to it. I became obsessed with food and calories. I wouldn't be able to fall asleep if I didn't count the calories I consumed that day, over and over again. Then I would go over my counts and figure out where I could cut more out. I am glad that you found a good diet/meal plan that works so well for you, especially if it helps you not have to hear the voice any longer.

@Cherylndesigns I can imagine that a nice gentle rain on the metal roof is soothing to listen to, but a thunderstorm must make quite a racket. Hope that it didn't storm all day long.
Congrats to Braden!! #cheer-3 Were you able to go to the ceremony since it was moved indoors? What will he be doing this summer? he must be so excited to be getting ready for college too!
yeah, like I said to Rae, I think everyone has that voice about food and body image. We are socialized to it. Especially women, although it can happen to men as well, especially wrestlers and similar sports where you have to cut weight. Even now, I have to watch myself and check in --Am I just behaving normally or is it progressing to an unhealthy level? I had been in and out of therapy for anorexia since I was 13. It was when Gary first got very sick and we didn't know what or why (2004 to 2006) that I spiraled. My therapist at the time told me that she couldn't treat me anymore b/c I had progressed past her ability to help. She got me into an Intensive Outpatient Treatment center for what was supposed to be a six-week program. My insurance cut me off after 4 weeks. So stupid on their part because I continued to starve myself well past that point.
I feel for Steph- I bet she has heard "Oh you are so *lucky* that you can eat whatever you want and still be skinny" more times than she can handle. We are a society hyper-focused on appearance to the detriment of everything else- including each other's humanity. :(
Sorry for the

:soapbox:

That's so cool that you are liking the Merlin app. I recorded a few birds in the afternoon and several different birds popped up. I wish I could *see* them, but the leaves are too thick. Hope that the weird bird (all birds are weird though, aren't they? ) shows up again

Good morning ladies. I am going to be culling thru the travel photos this wkend and getting some into my online storage. I have the raw images on an EHD and now will sort thru them to put a selection of jpegs in my smugmug acct. I've started looking at lightweight laptops as I'm thinking of getting one to bring with me when I travel. My ipad doesn't have a usb port to plug a memory card reader into or an EHD. I want to get something small and light and not too expensive. I'll look around over the next month or two and find something. We have decided we'll rent scooters or mopeds or something when we go to Barcelona and Rome. That is going to be a fun way to travel around. I'm late with taxes (as always lol) so will get our papers together over the next few days to book an appt next week. Lots of little things to do, glad I'm feeling (mostly) better and have more energy.

@faerywings glad you found insurance for your Sept trip. Hope you have a quiet day.

I'm going to go turn off the sprinkler and get more coffee. HAGD everyone.

Just got in from photographing our new Fire House dedication. Thankfully the rain held off for that. But, we sure do need it.
I'm actually thankful for a rainy weekend... I've been spending so much time outside the inside looks like a bomb went off! EEEK

Yes, time flies. I struggled to keep the tears from flowing at her graduation last night. She had to finish her Spanish before she got her diploma and she finished it at 7 yesterday morning! She was so relieved and giddy and talkative! Now real life begins!
I finished up the laundry etc today while Mark worked outside. He wants to possibly ride the bike tonight when we get back home from tractor supply and letting his daughter's dogs out. I'm glad he is feeling better! He still has some hemorrhoid burning at times but it isn't sending him to the couch!

Good evening!
Been busy today with finishing up the laundry and etc around the house. Next weekend is the annual family gathering so Mark is working feverishly in the woods cleaning up and getting ready to gather at the pits while I work in the house. My sister from FL is leaving work at noon and heading this way. She will arrive very late Thursday night or very early Friday morning. She will spend the weekend and next week with me and then I'll be ready for her to leave, lol! #angry2:rotfl:
Not much planned other than getting ready for the family.
Have a great weekend!

It's still raining here. Seven hours straight so far... I'm so very happy. I couldn't believe how dry it was for Spring, when I was digging in the garden Thursday. Yay, to rain. Mother Nature took her meds!!!!

Thanks! I love the family gatherings but, more times than not, it rains and we end up at my daughter's house since they have a big house and Mark and I do not!

It's Sunday and the sun is shining and I am feeling so much better. I think that I was actually having a little bit of Lyme/inflammation flare. I don't think I would even say it was anywhere close to a relapse or full-blown flare. But I realized last night while watching TV that all of my old surgery scars were tender. That is one of those things that would happen when I was in an actual flare. Between the exhaustion, the anxiety, and joint pain I think I overdid it and my body was telling me to knock that s*** off.
HA!! Good luck with that, Body. *snickers*

Today is a very good day- it's Scott's birthday. I can't believe he is 27. I am so darn proud of him. He is such a good person and while I like to take some of the credit for that, most of it is just how he is. He amazes me all of the time. He has come a long way from being the colicky baby who screamed non-stop for almost 6 straight months. He had health issues that triggered severe colic and I don't know how either of us survived. Good thing he was freaking adorable ♥
His work schedule got rearranged and now is working from 6 am to 4 pm so he'll be here for dinner yippee! He was supposed to be 11-9 so this is the best gift for me. LOL

Waiting at the FP was nice. We met a man with the cutest dog. Her name was Zoe and she is this beautiful brindled mutt. She was a street dog that he rescued from a kill shelter. She took off again as soon as he brought her home. Somebody found her 6 months later and b/c she was chipped, they were reunited. The VA has a program that rehabs dogs and vets and they worked together to socialize her to be around people. He has had her ever since, said she basically saved his life. Looks like that was mutual. :heartpumppink:

Get this-- talk about good timing and being happy with the FP... They had some frozen bakery items and Cait asked me to request the choc. covered strawberries. After I submitted my paperwork, someone came out with a birthday cake. I asked the person running the FP if I could switch the berries for the cake. She brought out a cake for me and *and* we still got the berries. :D The cake is white and pink but that's all good, Scott won't care.

Since I wasn't expecting anyone for dinner other than Gary, I wasn't planning on cooking. But now that Scott's going to be here, Cait and Tom rearranged their day to be here and Sam is coming, too. Now I have to cook. eep. I am going to run to the small shop in town to pick up something since I don't have anything left in the house that would feed 6 people, including vegetarian/vegan diets.

That's it! Hope everyone is having a wonderful day :hug2:

@bcgal00 How did you do, culling photos? I don't know how you did it, since you had so many and I don't think it's possible for you to take a bad picture. That's awesome that you want to get a new laptop for travel.
I am loving the visual I have of you and the fam scootering around Spain and Italy. You're going to have to get a long silk scarf and oversized sunglasses so you match what I am imagining. :giggle:
So glad that you are feeling better.

@Nonni F Hahahaha!! You can always tell when the weather is nice by the way my house looks on the inside too. It goes from regular mess/dust to a disaster area. If I have a choice between inside work or outside, you know exactly what my choice is every darn time. Sounds the same with you. LOL! The timing of the rain worked out for the dedication, whew.

@vickyday Yup, the $90 travel insurance is for both of us. It's almost silly that we get it since is only for two nights and we drive. The place we stay is very strict with cancellations and if you cancel less than two weeks away, they charge you for the entire trip, not just the deposit. That happened to us in 2021 when my mom was in the hospital. So it's an additional expense but it gives us (I should say her since my mom pays for everything *G*) some peace of mind.
Honey is amazing! It's an app you add to your browser and it searches for coupons. I have saved so much when I order things online. It's even found coupons for me at ShopRite.com that I didn't know about. You can also get points/cash back on some purchases. Every little bit adds up, right? to her!
That's so wonderful about DGD. More congrats and confetti ::sparkles1::loveangel::partyhorn: to her and your family!!
Uh-oh. Is your sister not that easy to live with or is it normal sibling rivalry? I love my brother but if I had to spend a week with him, he'd drive me up to the wall.

Yay, to rain. Mother Nature took her meds!!!!
Thank goodness!!!!!!! :floorlaugh:

Morning ladies... I was MIA yesterday, but guess you are all used to that as DH and I are usually so busy on Saturday!! Well yesterday was no exception. My central vacuum decided to bite the dust (no pun intended) on Friday and so we had to include a trip to the vacuum store to purchase a new one, its always something right?!! :rollingpin1: seems we can't ever get ahead!! Oh well we have to have the vacuum, this new one is guaranteed for 20 years, so it should last us until we decide to down size one day. Today we are getting a load of mulch to spread around the garden areas, we might need to get a load of good soil for the back yard along the fence it could use some nice new soil. We will see. Other than that not much happening, we will be busy in the yard most of the day. Looks like the weather is going to change over the next couple of days, we are hoping for some rain, we sure could use it! I finally posted my layout this morning, I totally forgot to do it on Friday. I need to do a bit of commenting this morning also.

@faerywings - Happy Birthday to Scott!! Wow 27 years old already! He truly does seem to be a wonderful young man, you should be so proud of him! A great find at the FP too, enjoy the cake and the chocolate covered strawberries! Sure hope that you are not having a lyme flair, you have been doing so good for so long!!

@bcgal00 - You have lots of photos to go through! I don't envy you that job! I wouldn't want to discard of any of them :giggle4:. Hope you find the perfect laptop for your next travel adventure!

@vickyday - The family gathering sounds like it will be a great time! Yes I feel the same way about one of my siblings, don't overstay your welcome #angry2. I do hope that you have some fun together though!

@Nonni F - Wow how did you manage to get such a close shot of the birds and the kill??:exitroom: This kind of thing happens all the time in our area. Poor bunnies don't live long around here with so many hawks and eagles flying around. Sad for the rat, but glad that you did not have to use poison or traps and that Mother Nature took care of the problem for you.

Ok DH has crawled out of bed and is wanting to have coffee on the deck, so I am outta here! I hope you all have a fabulous day! :bye2:

Good morning ladies. Got a sprinkle of rain last night, typical for Kamloops, about 0.05" LOL. If you can call that rain LOL. I'm going to head out for a walk at the park since it cooled off a bit.

I ordered silicone noise cancellation earbuds and hope they fit better and work a bit better than the foam ones, for traveling with. It'll be a long flight overseas so hopefully these will help me snooze a bit on the plane. I also ordered a small crossbody travel pouch to wear. Everyone talks about the pickpockets so better to be safe than sorry.

The rain cleared up the smoky skies (from Alberta fires) so it should be a nice walk through the park. Need to get dressed and get out of here.

@faerywings Good score on the desserts! Happy b-day to Scott. He really does sound like a remarkable guy, as is your daughter, so you two did something right, raising these two :) Enjoy the family dinner and try not to overdo it today. Did you watch White Lotus? I am picturing me in my head as Jennifer Coolidge on the scooter LOL.

Hellooooo I'm still alive.......I did NOT make it in here yesterday.

What a busy weekend so far - yes, Chris @faerywings we all got into the ceremony - they changed it to the fairly small gymnasium and Adrienne went ahead of the rest of us and saved seats on the bleachers. We were SO proud of Braden - in his Valedictorian tassels and awards hanging around his neck. SO proud - busting our buttons proud. I did post his commencement speech and a few pictures on FB. We had a nice party afterwards and had lots of food. Adrienne was worried about that, but it turned out fine. I fixed a great big crockpot full of appetizer sized meatballs, in chili sauce and grape jelly. They were the hit of the party - I made a bunch of them, too. If you've never had them. they're SO good and so sweet. I even bought frozen meatballs - easy peasy. People were literally standing around the crockpot - we couldn't get them on the plate fast enough.

Yesterday was beautiful and not too hot, in the seventies, so I worked out in the yard most of the day. I got all my plants in the ground or in pots and they all look so nice. I moved a few things, too.

Yes, Chris @faerywings I'm enjoying the Merlin app. It's just SO cool and like you, I can't see the birds to take their pictures because they're always in the thick trees and out of sight.

Happy birthday to Scott!!! Have a wonderful birthday dinner!

Steph gets told constantly that #1 she's way too skinny or #2 they wish they were that skinny. I feel bad for her because either one hurts because she does eat. She has managed to gain about five pounds, though. The thing she's most excited about is that her hemoglobin is 12! She has trouble keeping that up, too.

I'm going to :waving1:waving1to everybody and scoot. I think Adrienne wants to go into town in awhile and if not, I'm heading back outdoors to clean up my mess from yesterday. I have dirt all over the front porch and need to throw a lot of stuff away. I went through two bags of potting soil and I'm not very neat. Try as I do, I always make a mess.

Happy Sunday XOXO.

Happy Birthday to your Scott! He sounds like a wonderful young man!
Have fun with your dinner "party" even though you have to do some prep work!
I love brindled dogs, etc! What a great story!

Good Sunday Afternoon to all!
Not doing much this afternoon. Went to church this morning and came home and ordered Dominoes for lunch. Poor Mark is having his usual problems, so he is on the couch again today after having such a great couple of days this weekend. I'm still sorting the scrapbook pages and am almost ready to put them in albums! That's about all that is happening this afternoon!
HELLO to all!:waving1:waving1:waving1
