Did any of you get up to watch the Royal Wedding? I didn't but I followed a bit on Twitter (probably more than I would like to admit ;) ) I remember waking up very early for Charles and Diana's wedding when I was in HS. but I didn't have much interest in this one. But I have to admit, the photos of Harry and Meghan made me very happy. They really look like they are head over heels and very romantic. From what I read, the ceremony was very inclusive and combined references to MLK Jr, racism and rising above it all with love. In light of all of the s*** that happened in the US and the rest of the world this week, my heart feels quite a bit happier.

Yeah, I don't even want to get into my head yesterday. More sadness and anger in America. But the good parts were that I was able to work out in the yard. It didn't rain until nighttime. When Gary and Scott cut the tree limb, they moved the pieces into the woods along the side of the house. I cut off all of the smaller branches and rearranged the larger pieces to form an arbor of sorts. I threw down handfuls of morning glory seeds so maybe the I get get the vines trained over the branches. If this works it will look very pretty as it blooms.

Gary's head was very spinny and he was feeling bored since that makes him unable to concentrate on anything very long. We decided to play Scrabble which was a great diversion. I beat him, but just by 10 points. We left the game out so we can have it handy for another day.

Caitlyn and Brendan were off to the mall for a double date and I had to hug her really tightly. It is literally nowhere safe anymore. Malls, schools, churches, movie theaters, concerts. Nowhere. :( But she is fantastic and will text me when she gets where she is going and will give me updates if she is going to be longer than expected. As I was hugging her and telling her to be careful, she said that Gary had already said the same exact things to her. GMTA.

Today it is sooo cold. I have on a t-shirt, a long sleeve t, and a huge sweatshirt and I am frozen. Nancy, I feel so bad for the wedding and bride today that you are going to. Maybe it will be a bit warmer and drier by you? No plans but I might try to work in the attic. I have a box of some winter clothes to put up there and I think that I have a small box of shorts/tank tops to bring down. At least it won't be hot up there. :/

Morning ladies... I PVR'd the Royal Wedding and so have it playing while here at the computer. It looks like a spectacular sunny day for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex! I feel badly for the bride and groom of the wedding that Nancy is going to today, that weather is not so good  Today DH and I will do our usual running around getting groceries and going to the farm market for a few things. It is a long weekend for us so we will also be doing lots of yard work and more power washing. The shed in the backyard is very green looking and the front porch needs to be re-painted and the railings need to be power washed too. More mulch to spread in the back and a few loads of dirt to build up the front yard in one corner, sheesh we will be busy! Not all work though as we also plan to have a date night and go see the New Avengers movie in Victoria, perhaps we will even go out for dinner. I had a really nice talk with Heather and Hunter yesterday! Hunter is growing and is such a cutie pie, so full of smiles and I am having fun entertaining him while he waits for Mommy to get his lunch ready, we sing and make silly faces, lots of laughs! Heather was telling me that Mason is doing so well playing soccer and taking swimming lessons and is finally getting over his terrible shyness. So nice to hear! She sent me pics of Mason playing soccer, so I will of course have to do a page for sure!

Chris - I remember when Charles and Diana got married and they really did not look like they even liked each other back then LOL. Harry and Megan are so much in love and seem to be so happy! A stark contrast to the horrible events happening in the States right now, its nice to get immersed in the happiness of the Royal Wedding! What a great idea you had to make an arbour out of the branches from your fallen tree limb! I hope that the seeds you planted grow beautifully around it! Isn't it sad that you have to be worried about your kids just going to the Mall for a double date! What is the matter with the world today?? That sucks about your weather also and I hope that the sun comes out for you soon and warms you up! Then you can wear the summer clothes that you are bringing down from the attic today.

:hello: to everyone else, I need some coffee and will come back in a bit to catch up with all of you!

Trudy-I hate it when I wake up and can't get back to sleep. Sorry that your day started like that. If you went to the pool, I bet that got your blood moving and invigorated you. At least for a while :p
Did you do any scrapping? I started a LO for a June challenge and let's see how many days it takes me to finish it. Hope you do much better.
Floyd's blood work came back and his kidney function is slightly improved. We need to continue fluids 3 times a week. Hmm, they didn't say when we need to do a retest. No matter, I am there often enough to ask. I need to make an appt in June for Ray's exam/vax's.

That sounds like something he would love to do- stay at the forestry station and study the trees. You are so lucky to live in such a gorgeous area!

Nancy- I am shocked and saddened by the news that the bus was trying to make a U-turn on the highway like that. I don't know how often you drive out that way, but I used to work in Mt Olive, went to school in PA though Rt 80. Obviously, it is just a few miles down from where my parents live/where I grew up. I am astounded at that decision by the driver. Cars and trucks *fly* on that highway. If you aren't doing 80 mph, you are going to get passed. So heartbreaking.
Did you figure out what to wear today? A parka perhaps? LOL I don't know what to wear tomorrow for the graduation. I don't have anything much fancier than jeans.
Hope that The Knights are playing well!

Felis-Oh yikes! That stinks about the refrigerator defrosting and then having to boil up all of that chicken. Ick. Is that what you feed the cats?
How is Macho doing?

Enjoy your reading and scrap time!
Have you read any of the books by Cassandra Clare? I think you might like them. They are young adult. She has three series- The Mortal Instruments, Infernal Devices and then The Dark Artifices. Supernatural good vs. evil type.

Rae and Jean and Everyone-- Hugs!!!!

Hello girls,
I'm not sure how big is this for you but here where we are exmonarchy the Royal Wedding is a huge thing. We are very disappointed that our king wasn't invited, because he is from the family side of the queen's father and close friends with Prince Charles, but obviously not so close when they wasn't invited him this time. However! I was busy on the William and Kate wedding and skip it, so now I watched with big interest (it was at afternoon time here). Was so romantic! Megan don't have the delicate charm of Kate, but she gives to all women hope that even if you are made mistakes in your past you still can make your fairy tale come true. I wish them long and happy family life! We celebrate it with grilled veggies. :)

Chris, of course I know Alec and Magnus, the best couple ever! I'm big fan of Infernal Devices, and I'm read The Mortal Instruments, but not yet The Dark Artifices because here already few series wasn't completely translated, but only first two books and then stopped, so for now I wait the whole series to be finished and will get it at once. Do you read them now? Oh, Macho is doing very well. He only want to go back out, is not happy at the inside group  , but everything else looks normal and I start thinking we even no need the vet visit.
Ugh, about the news, I tried just to isolate my mind by them- America, Cambodia, Havana, what a horrible day yesterday!
At least Floyd's blood work is better and I hope you enjoying your time spend in gardening!

Trudy, I'll wait to see this Mason soccer page, sounds so cute! I was thinking that your son and the kids will visit you this weekend? Have fun on the date night! The other part of your weekend is similar to mine, I have grocery planned for tomorrow and both days have to clear the flowers-bed, but to be honest today I mostly watched TV and played with the cats.

Nancy, Rae and Jean, waving hi!

We don't receive the rain which was predicted, so I hope that you all also will have sunny and funny weekend!

Royal wedding was not on our radar today. I had my monthly computer genealogy group meeting. One of our members is a good speaker and she gave an excellent morning talk. She and I did user groups, we all had our brown bag lunches and then I showed information on Dropbox and Google Drive and how they might be useful for genealogists. As usual I had an invigorating time. Thought I'd be driving home (across town, about 35 min. or more) in thunder storms, but there wasn't any rain until I was home. Meanwhile, DH was playing in the three sets of the group from the senior center at a neighborhood festival nearby. They also didn't get any rain, even some sun but it was windy. They too had a good time.

Chris, hard to believe you got cold weather as it got hot here today. Of course it will cool down with this rain. The arbor idea sounds wonderful. Good that the vet labs were better.

Trudy, what a busy weekend you'll have, but lots of nice results in the yard. Hope you get a little time for something else like painting or scrapping. You know we all want to see a LO of Mason playing soccer!

Felis, what a shame about the refrigerator! Well at least all that work is behind you now and maybe there's time for reading and scrapping. I see you LO for week 19, so you're doing better than me (I have 19 and now 20 to do.) Those dolls of the royals are so sweet!

Nancy, I saw the VGK after losing the first game are now up 3-1. How exciting for a new team. Hope you had our luck with rain for the wedding today, but if not, hope you stayed dry.

Rae, hoping for a calm weekend for you and all.

Happy Sunday! I am "ready" to head out soon for the graduation ceremony. I hate having to get dressed up. I am so used to wearing nothing but sweats and t or sweatshirts that I make myself crazy when I need to do something nicer. My mom had been telling me for the past week that I should get something new for today and I blew her off. Now, as always, I wish that I had listened to her. See, you can be almost 50 and need to listen to your mama.

Have a wonderful day! xoxo

Morning everyone, it is cool and windy here today, but hoping to see the sun out soon. Lots of work done yesterday in the yard, mostly done by DH and the Power Washer, but everything is looking spic and span and the furniture is now on the back deck. Not that we get to use it much anymore, between the barking dogs and our bad neighbours fighting and cursing at each other its not the most relaxing place to be. Yesterday however was interesting as we did sit on the back deck and wondered where the heck the neighbours dogs were and how come they aren't barking their heads off. Well I guess they were out front of their house, where we can't see and getting a motorhome ready to go camping. Hooray we were so happy until... the cursing started, guess he could not get something to work and she was yelling at him and he was yelling at her and swearing about how they spent all this money on a piece of junk etc. DH and I looked at each other and toasted with our wine glasses and both said... "It couldn't have happened to a better couple!!" LOL Karma!! So today we hope that they are gone (but I doubt that we could be that lucky) A bit of housework to do and then we are going to Victoria to see a movie and take the rest of the day off. Oh yesterday I also took my sister and her husband a lasagna, Caesar salad and Garlic bread for their supper, we sat out in the back yard for a bit and had a nice visit. Her hubby is not looking so good, but I guess when you have lost function in most of your heart you tend to look that way. He has quit smoking (so far) but of course he was drinking a beer when I got there. Although he said the dr. told him no more than two beer a day, that will be hard for him. They think he also has diabetes so he will have to start on a different diet right away also. I told my sister that I would bring her another meal in a day or so and she really wants to try something Keto, so I will make a Keto meal for them. Anyway that has been my weekend so far.

Chris - I did manage to get a page done for the 52 Inspirations challenge, now I need to do a couple more hiking pages and one for Mason playing soccer. Wonder how long that will take me?? I was happy to hear that Floyd's kidney function is improving a bit! I think that you should take up residency at the Vet's you are there so often LOL. You should have listen to your Mama and got yourself something nice to wear for the graduation, I bet you look lovely anyway and I would love to see you all dressed up! I hope you have a great time!

Jean - Always nice to hear about your interesting times with your genealogy group! Good that you can show them ways to use other programs too! How great that the weather held off for both you and your DH! Lucky!! I am itching to get going on the painting I want to do, but other things first. I did manage to get the canvas ready though and now it is sitting there calling my name LOL.

Felis - I still have not finished watching the Royal Wedding, hopefully soon and I will have to watch it before the switch happens between our Telus service and our new providers Shaw Cable. We decided to switch as we have so much trouble with the Telus equipment and the our contract is up with them. We will also save several hundred dollars a year switching back to Shaw, they have come up with a new deal for those who switch at least for two years anyway. Those dolls are so cute! I hope that you have been having a lovely weekend!

Rae and Nancy - hope you are both fine and enjoying some quiet time this weekend.

I am off to make DH some breakfast and then put in a load of :washing: Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

good morning - well almost lunch time. I did watch the highlights from the royal wedding. I wanted to see her dress and then the outfits worn at the wedding. I loved Megan's mother's outfit. I thought her dress was simple and beautiful. Was surprised there was not any lace on the dress but I loved her tiara! They do seem happy! Well the wedding I attended was just lovely. It was held at a Golf Club in a fancy western part of NJ. It has two PGA golf courses set among forested areas, running creeks and hills. Of course the plantings were spectacular with lots of flowers and bushes in bloom so it was a shame that the weather was cloudy and grey and fog developed. But it was a lovely service and their vows was fun and full of love. The only thing we disliked was that the music was so loud that you had to scream to talk to the person sitting next to you. The food was just amazing! And best of all I did not look out of place. I love the dress I wore it really is my favorite. We did not know anyone LOL. But luckily we sat next to the next door neighbors of the brides parents who we actually sat next to at their other daughter's wedding. But again because we had to scream not much conversation LOL. I watched my team USA get demolished by the Swedes 6-0 and then watched team Canada lose to the Swiss. That was shocking. Now this morning I watched team USA defeat Canada 4-1 to win the bronze medal. There are several Devils on team USA so that is exciting for them to bring back a medal. Happy. Then today there is the gold medal game and game 5 between the Jets and the Knights. If the Knights win they are in the final! Caps lost last night so on Monday if they lose the Lightning are in. So today will be a calm day. The sun is shining and the boys took Luther out to play fetch and he got hot and it is only in the mid 70s. It is hard to go from 50s to 80s in one day when you have a fur coat.

Chris we had rain during the day and lots. But I was glad it stopped before the wedding so we had no rain as we had to go between two buildings. Scrabble is a fun game if your mind wants to work and sometimes my mind just does not LOL. I know what you mean about dressing up when you don't do it all the time. That is exactly how I felt. I too wished I had gone to look for something new but in the end I was happy with what I wore and I know you too look gorgeous for the graduation! what an accomplishment for her! Mostly just have fun!

Trudy I am alway impressed by how much you work on your yard. I am happy if the grass is mowed. That is nice as a sister to take the food. I am sure they appreciated. Enjoy a calm day.

Jean I am not surprised it was another great genealogy meeting. When you love something and put your best into it you shine and I know you shine! Glad the weather held off until all the events were finished! We might get thunderstorms later today! And yes so glad that VKG are up!

Felis how is Macho doing? Those dolls are too cute. Thanks for the photo!

Have a great day!

Good evening girls,
very satisfactory weekend. Lots of work done in the yard, mostly done by dad and the lawn mower (yes I copied this from Trudy ;) ), me and mom cleaned the flowers bed, till my sister was take the care for the dogs. It wasn't much hot, so it was lovely time outside. After that I had to change the curtain, because Macho cut it off, he drives my inside group crazy, but they have to wait until tomorrow when vet will gives me permission to bring him back to normal , or not :closed_2:.
Only ordinary things, nothing special.

Aww, Trudy, you makes me feel so guilty! My parents always yelling on the yard and I make note them that isn't necessary all neighbors to listen us, but nothing change. My dad never will admit it, but I suspect he is start losing part of his ability to hear, because from so many years he work with noisy machines. He use speaker every time when use cell phone and of course go out to speak, because connection is better ::roll . It's so embarrassing! The whole family is start to speak so loud that last time when I was with friend she makes me note for that :shame: . So bad that you can't enjoy your yard privacy in such a good weather! I think at least your sister now will can eat what she want, because he will be on special diet anyway. Have fun at Victoria! This switch deal sounds good to me, hope that will happen easy! We aren't much happy with our provider too, every time when weather is bad we have problems with the quality. But the pack is in combination with the internet too and you can't get it separate and this is the faster internet connection in the town, so we just don't have choice.

Nancy, what you was wearing on a wedding? Here we have saying that if the weather is raining then '' their life will going as on water'', which is lucky sign, something like trouble-free sailing. I think they are got best weather, because rain is make it colder, there haven't nothing more disgusting than sweat newlyweds, yucks. About the the royal wedding, I'm agree with you! Megan's mother was so sweet! And she was so more excited than her daughter, the prince also looked more excited than the bride. The wedding commentators have said that this is because is second wedding for her and she looks like play in movie than really is experiencing the moment. But I'm not agree, they judged it too strictly. I think she looks really in love.

Chris, have fun on a graduation ceremony! Sorry but I'm agree with your momy, the occasion is special and needs from special clothes. Hope you had something like that in your closet! This is why people have to buy such a things when see them on deal, always is reassuring to know that you have back up plan in your closet :) .
Oh, yesterday I'm forgot to answer you about the cat menu, sorry! Yes I give them boiled chicken instead of canned food, because it's cheaper and don't have preservatives. But still combined it with dry food for the vitamins that cats need and can't make themselves.

Jean , always is pleasure to see your satisfaction from your so well done job! Oh, good that it wasn't necessary to drive at rain! Yes, this weekend was very productive for me, I have two more pages scrapped and only needs to add them text, always hard.

Rae, I hope you are busy only with ordinary things!

Good night, girls! And hugs to all!
