Annnd- we are back to early April weather this weekend. Cold and rainy. I am wearing my sleep t-shirt, a long sleeve t, and a sweatshirt, and I am still cold. But looking ahead to next week, it is going to be back into the upper 70*s yay!

I made 5 vases yesterday and only one was a semi-Pinterest Fail. Gary actually liked it a lot and I am going to dress it up a bit more today. He wants that one for his mom. And here I was planning on pulling everything off and starting from scratch. Cait is working on the cards so I think I will be able to pull this off.

I also spent some time outside clearing leaves from the areas I wanted to place the tick tubes. I also finished a LO for the Freebie Challenge that I started days ago. I an averaging about 3-4 days to complete a simple LO. I don't get it.

Today I have to finish the one vase and then clean up the house for breakfast tomorrow. We didn't do Floyd's fluids yesterday becasue I couldn't find him. He was ticked into Scott's closet so far back that I didn''t see him, Caitlyn found him around dinner time. I have to admit that a small part of me had wished that he had passed. (I know-- it is horrible of me). I just hate that this is what he is going to have to face every other day of his life.

Years ago, we chose to have one of our cats put down. He was a feral cat that we brought inside when he was a few months old. He never totally socialized. He enjoyed being with the other cats and with the 4 of us but if anyone even came to the door, he would hide for the rest of the day. He was getting chronic UTIs and would freak out if he even saw the cat carrier and then when he knew that he needed meds. It was really hard, but we tried to balance his quality of life and his enjoyment of life, which was diminishing rapidly even though is health was stable. We are *not* at that point with Floyd, and I would be devastated if he died, but if he made the choice on his own, I would be OK with that too. Please don't judge me too harshly. :(

Anyway-- I need to start my day. Hugs and love to all!!!

Formatting is still off. This has also been happening for a while-- my delete key sometimes doesn't delete things, it adds periods to the word instead. I hate computers! :smash:

Trudy- So happy that you have summer temps this weekend! What a busy and productive day you had! I want to do the Letter Challenge next but I have no ideas of where to start. I am going to stalk your gallery for ideas. My Gary does the same thing some night. And some shows I don't understand how he can fall asleep during- like The Walking Dead... how?? LOL

One nice thing about not having a lot of clothes is that I can keep the majority of stuff squeezed into my closet. I started clearing out some things that I haven't worn in forever but that need to be finished another day.

Nancy- On no! Sorry to hear that you are sick, I hope that you are much better today. Good thing that Luther was at daycare so you could nap if you needed it. You have a big game to watch tonight! My friend has some of those lights! They are really cool.

Trudy- I am terrified of shingles. I try to stay away from "unnecessary vaccines" because of my compromised immune system but if my LLMD approves it, that is one that I will get.

Rae- That sounds so disheartening for B! Why is the hospital dragging their feet or making things harder for you all? I hope that the new meds help her and of course that the ins. co. covers it. we miss you too-- hope that some Taz Snuggles pick you up.

Jean- it fascinates me that you can "predict" the seasonal changes based on what birds you see and when. It shouldn't surprise me since animals are so much more responsive than humans but it is very cool. My mom found some permethrin-treated shirts at a local sporting goods store. I have to treat some of my gardening clothes too. Totally a Must-Have for birding. I wish my dad used it when he goes fishing, but at least he is good about bug spray.

Felis- does the rash go away if you take allergy pills? Caitlyn's hives go away when she takes Zyrtec but not on their own. But hey-- at least you didn't have to go grocery shopping! I should try that :pound:
My fingers are crossed that you get all of the books that you need/want at the sale.
I shouldn't laugh but Biggie sounds like he is as stubborn as Jaida. It is like trying to move a brick wall with her. I never thought abotuCait's friend having a right to have a driver. Guess it doesn't matter anyway since they are both done with that school.:( The friend is going to a school closer to her, not the same one that Caitlyn is transferring too, which is making Cait sad.

xoxo!!!

Cool gray, maybe rainy day, but I am very happy as we have an oriole! DH put up the oriole feeder Tuesday (maybe because we heard one when birding) and yesterday a male Baltimore Oriole came to our feeder several times. Today he has been there and we also hear him sing some and also a warbler is singing. Lots of bird activity though lots of it is the little pigs (house sparrows) but goldfinch and others. Orioles are beautiful and we love their flute-like song.

Felis, I was especially thinking a black top with the zebra stripes, maybe with your hair up and dangly earrings. Glad you wore them. And getting out of the grocery shopping is some compensation for the rash (but hope it is gone.) Biggie clearly has a mind of his own. DH's brother has a cat (you've seen her photos) that doesn't care about the rain. At least he doesn't have as much animal to dry off.

Chris, that is curious about the vases, but if G likes one for his mom, great news. Don't forget photos! You did great with the freebie challenge. Seems W is very photogenic these days. The Pinterest board for the letter challenge is beautiful and might inspire you. Hope you don't get overlooked for Mother's Day tomorrow with all the older moms. It's not a day for us as neither of us has a (living) mother and neither of us is one (but it is my birthday.)

Nancy, hope you're feeling better. We saw part of last night's hockey game and were surprised at the Lightning coming out slow. Tonight we're going to watch the Vegas game at home.

Trudy, know you're enjoying the weekend.

Rae, hoping for better news for you all.

Chris, I tell you this without any kind of judge, preaching or try to advise you. I tell you this from position of a mother fight for few of my cat babies and lose many of them. Don't put emotion in your decision. Talk with the vet and if she told you that Floyd can recovery of course you must fight for this. But if she can only to stabilise him and to extend his life with two-three years, you must be impersonal, completely honest, do these additional years will have the necessary quality?! If the treatment allows him to live as before, of course you must do that! But if he is apathetic, lethargic, quiet and lie down most of the time, without a desire to eat or for activity. Then maybe his time is over. You know me, if I have to choose to save human or cat, I'll always will save the cat. I love them as my own born child! But they not completely equal to us in the way of living. One human always will want few more time, will have what more to do. Cats finished their mission and they are ready to gone. If his time is end, it's not fair to extend his stay here just because you love him and can't lose it. To keep him at poor quality of life is selfish. If you see he wants to gone, you can't keep him for long. Prepare your family to take good bye and stop the treatment. It's a difficult decision and you have to considering it very good, be sure that you get decision based on his needs and wishes, not on your love.

I just needed to say this to Chris and I'll come back soon with my complete post.

Hello girls,
it's rainy day here and I'm a little bit ashamed to to admit it, but I spend long time of the morning lying at the bed. After that I made the big weekend cleaning of the cat house, and watched TV. Really boring day. The good news is that my skin is much better. I used green tea oil and its help me much, I think tomorrow will be normal. Chris, I'm not take any allergy pills, I prefer to not take pills till case isn't really bad. And Jean, I love your idea for hair up and dangly earrings, definitely will try it! I remember the cat photos, you was show me them after your visit there. But I'm surprised to hear for cat that likes rain :) . Have fun on your birthday! Do you have some special plans?!
So you have Mother's Day tomorrow at US only or Canada too?! Here was at March.
Chris, vases sounds good and I think they'll like it, but to be sure is better to show us pic ;) .

I hope the other girls have good Saturday and enjoy their weekend!
Kiss and hugs to you all!

Good Morning everyone! A very sunny and warm weekend for us :sorry: Chris! Our usual weekend of going for groceries and a few other errands to run. DH is going to cut the grass in the front yard and I will be pulling weeds around the retaining wall again. Seems I have to do this at least once every couple of weeks. We can't put roundup or any other chemicals there because the rainwater will run down the steep hill and eventually into the Lake below us. Oh well I will at least be out in the sunshine! Tomorrow we are going to SIL Linda's for Mother's Day lunch and DH will be the cook on the BBQ, it should be a nice visit with the In-Laws! Our son txt me last night and said he is bringing the kids down on Friday morning, taking them out of school for the day and spending Friday and Saturday with us. Hooray!! I guess his French course people always go somewhere different on Friday where they all have to speak nothing but French, so they are all heading up here to Duncan to do the Bings Creek Hike that I recently did. Of course they will all be doing lunch somewhere and decided that it will be at Saison's a beautiful little winery and eatery. Well for some reason I thought that I had posted this early this morning and here it is almost 4pm and it is still not posted LOL guess I got distracted and left my computer for the day LOL. I will catch up with everyone tomorrow morning!

Good morning and happy Sunday, my dears! I am feeling a bit "under the weather"- not sick but tired and achy. Cold and rainy again. So tired and achy it is for me.
I had a busy day yesterday but I was able to get a lot done- I have the vases ready for today and I think that Cait finished making the cards. The LR/DR/kitchen are surface-cleaned. All I need to do is hop in the shower and decide if I am just throwing on sweats or put on real clothes and make-up. I am leaning 99% towards sweats.

My dogs are amazing! They were able to order me a T-Shirt for Mother's Day, even without having opposable thumbs and a credit card. It says "I survived Dog-Fest and underneath it are logos of bands rewritten in dog band names. There is The Beagles, 3 Dogs Down, Pup Floyd, Linkin Bark. I can't wait to wear it. They even made me a card that says Happy (Mrs. Campbell's-- crossed out) Mother's Day. It is a throwback to when I was insisting that we weren't keeping W and wouldn't let the family refer to me as mommy so Cait had her "call" me Mrs. Campbell.

Wish me luck with the b-fast today! Hope that all of you have a super day too.

Jean- that must be exciting to see/hear the oriole. Do the birds all like different types of feed?
Happy birthday to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
::HapBirth:

Do you have any exciting plans? Hope that you get spoiled, you deserve it!!!

That W is a crazy girl! She is the happiest dog we have ever had. Her tail wags non-stop. We call her Velcro-Dog since she is always attached to someone or one of the other dogs. Thanks for the compliment of the page with her!

Felis- thank you for the non-judgment advice. I know that you would understand and would look at all sides of this. We see the vet on Thursday for more blood work and if the kidneys are failing more, we might be closer to a decision. If not, and he is stabilizing we will keep up what we are doing. But I feel bad for him. He sees us coming and knows he is going to get held down and stuck with a needle.

Everyone deserves a day to be lazy! Glad that you did that!

Trudy- Thanks for stealing all of my sunny, hot weather! LOL We have used vinegar on weeds before, maybe google to see if that might work?
Enjoy your day at SILs!

xoxo

good day - happy Mother's Day to all that all celebrating being it with kids or pets. I had a great start to the day much better than yesterday's. Yesterday when we took Luther for a walk it was drizzling then it became heavy so we started back to the car and then it stopped so we went a new way. No many birds and wet feed yuck. But it was a good walk. Then watched hockey and it was crazy. Team Canada was defeated by team Finland and very soundly. Shocking. Then the Golden Knights forgot how to play after a 6 day lay off while the Jets were still in compete mode. Do not get me started on refs and goalie interference. Even if it is now decided in Toronto it made me angry that they decided that the puck was so far from Fluery that he could not make the save. What a joke. They cant know that. Oh well it was one game. Today we went for another walk and no rain but so damp and grey and too chilly! But OMgosh the birds were out. You just never know what you are going to see and they was that day. There were bobolinks just feeding along side the path. I saw them and knew they were different from the normal sparrow types and certainly not robins. But I never expected bobolinks. It was so exciting, then as Jean says Baltimore Orioles are just gorgeous! There were barn and tree swallows nesting, geese, a scarlet tanager was around but we did not see it. Lots of birds out looking for a reported Kentucky warbler but it was not spotted. We did see the yellow warbler. I was so happy and I am still happy! Today my oldest son is making dinner burgers and veggies. So that makes me happy! Early dinner so I we can be home to watch hockey and they can get ready for work. Still a few hours of the whole family is sweet! So my son and I put the light/blue tooth speaker in and OMgosh it is so cool! There is an app Tunity which allows you to sync your TV with your phone and thus to the blue tooth speaker or ear phones so say if you are at a bar or airport and too far from the TV to hear you can use the app and hear what is going on. Well the light/speaker does the same thing. We tried it out and I am so happy. I love these kinda gadgets. I have a second light to put some where else. It was just so easy to install - sort of scary that I can do this. My son is happy that I love it so much. He knows me so well. Here is the link - https://us.sengled.com/pages/pulse -

Chris hope the day goes well. The vases sound awesome. I hope you took a photo. Enjoy the time with your family. Love the stuff from the dogs! Too cute. You have a super family! Chris orioles tend to love fruit and if you cut oranges they love that. Goldfinches love thistle seeds and sun flower seeds and then birds like wrens and fly catchers well they are bug eaters. And of course the woodpecker they like seeds and worms. So yes birds eat different things. Jean can probably tell you more!

Jean I love seeing the orioles. They are gorgeous. They all sing so well. This really is a fun time to bird! thanks so sending us your rain lol - I see from Chris it is your birthday too have a great day!

Trudy have a great day! Enjoy the BBQ.

Felis on rainy days of course you can stay in bed! Enjoy!

Rae hoping you have a calm and lovely day!

Hopefully I will get a chance to come back later tonight but I just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a wonderful mom's day, if it is that day in your part of the world.

I just got off the phone with Jen who needed to cry and let the sadness out about things but then I told her to be grateful for the small things, B is still with us, she may still improve and we have this gift of time with her.

I'm heading out for a walk at the new park with Taz and D before heading up to the hospital for the day. I will bring a gluten free dessert for them and muffin for B. She got transferred up to the neuro ward and hopefully she will get better care there.

Gotta go, but just wanted to pop in and say hi.

We had lots of rain overnight but it is just cloudy now. We don't have plans other than dinner at the Mexican restaurant we finally tried last month. But DH does make me feel special for my birthday. (as do you all.) And happy Mother's Day to all who are.

Felis, a rainy day spent lying in bed sounds about right. Hope Sunday turned out better. Thanks so much for the super birthday with birds greeting! Had to show that to DH.

Trudy, know you are having a great day with the in-laws.

Chris, the dogs sure do love you to overcome the thumb and credit card difficulties. That T-shirt will be scrap worthy too I bet. Sorry you aren't feeling much energy for the day but whatever you wear it will be interesting with all the moms.

Nancy, wow, what a change from wet feet to all those birds. It sure is that time of year. As to what birds eat, you covered some of the basics quite well. What we provide at feeders basically mimics what the birds eat naturally.

Rae, so good you have the positive news that B is now in the neuro ward. Glad Jen has you for support while you have D and Taz.

Hi, girls, I'm back! Lately it's easier for me to write my post at the morning. Saturday was really cold, at the morning I felt I need additional blanket. So it was indoor day. The good news is that I finally read (I'm not much impressed by the book), the bad is that I still struggling with tries to scrap my weekly pages. Aunt came to dinner and we was kidding that we celebrate the mother's day (here it was at March). She is approved on 2nd from 3 steps for the new job and it's very excited. Mom and her best friend are after step 1, will see.

Trudy, I hope you had wonderful Mother's Day lunch! How exciting to can share this hike with the childrens! About the weeds, we don't use chemicals too, but except the flower beds when have to be precise, during the fence just cut them with grass trimmer.

Chris, what a lovely and fancy gift is that T-Shirt! Nice dogs! Hope that the excitement from the party has driven away your fatigue!

Nancy, sorry I'm laughing, but early dinner so to can be home to watch hockey is so you! Your birding sounds like awesome time too!

Rae, such a good news about the transfer! So happy to hear this! Of course now she will improve her condition, she is so young and this is good plus. It's good that Jen is shows her weakness out, it's better to allow to the tears to wash part of the pain, instead to collect all this stress inside!

Jean, dinner at favorite restaurant sounds me like a excellent plan for your b-day! Have a fun!:party:
