happy weekend!!!!!
And man, I wish I had a day off!!!! But me and my pot o' coffee and later on my box o' wine will get me through the day *wink*
Today is the big May Bash here-- anniversaries and birthdays and Mother's Day Oh MY!!!! I have a LOT of work to do and I am darn tired and overwhelmed by the mess in my house.
It's only my family that is coming here today but I still like for the house to look nice and the food to be actually cooked.... LOL
The Lyme Rally/Protest was so good to be at. The only thing that bummed me out is the same feeling it give me each time-- that we are preaching to the choir. All of us Lymies-- we know the BS that we deal with on a daily basis with drs and insurance and meds and inaccurate testing and all the rest of it.
But are we actually reaching anyone out there?
I just don't know. And that makes me angry and sad and somewhat scared of the future.
But as I keep saying, baby steps.... we are laying the foundation of bigger and better stuff to come along. One of the speakers, Dr Eva Sapi, shared some of her research that she is doing and it sounds so promising. And the best part of "her" besides her amazing brain-- she is *young* (I have to say I was surprised at how young- had to be in here 30's) . Life willing-- she has a lot of years ahead of her to get her research out there. And she is also training a new generation of researchers to branch out and continue her work in new areas. That was the most promising part if the speeches.
My friend Tracy also rocked her speech! Loved it!! She really was able to reach the crowd with both her professional opinions and perspective and the very heartfelt perspective as a fellow Lymie.
Here's a (bad) pic of me and my kids--
I am going to try and fix the exposure later on when I have some extra time.
That is it from the loony bin!
xoxoxo
