Where did Spring go?? Is it over already? Why is it freezing??? *yells and shakes fist at the sky*

I am going to do my best to not complain about the weather anymore. (Today) (This morning) (In this thread)

Let me start fresh and complain about my crummy mood. o_O Nothing big just- frustrated at life. *shrugs* I spent all day yesterday trying to work on birthday cards and Mother's Day gifts and I have nothing to show for it. I am partly done with one card that had started for Gary but decided it was better suited for Christopher. Then I spent hours trying to crochet tulips for the moms. The first petal came out wonky, but the second one (I switch yarn/hook) came out perfect (ish) but took me an hour to do one and I would need 6 petals plus leaves/stem for one full flower. Yeah, that is not gonna happen. Here comes a crazy week of celebrations and I have nothing to give to anyone. It was discouraging. On the bright side, I have successfully figured out how to do an invisible decrease in crochet.

Today is going to be a rerun of yesterday but hopefully, I will have better results. Instead of the flowers, I think I am going to look for a cookie recipe for the moms and make a pretty card to go with. I still have the 3 b-day cards to work on but maybe my brain will be in a faster working place if not in a better mood place.

I *guess* it is good that it is so cold and windy- not much I want to do outside in it.

Wishing all of you a wonderful and relaxing day!

@tanteva Happy belated Valborg! When I was younger, I would have been at one of the big parties- these days, I would be sitting on my sofa watching TV and a glass of wine from a box. Probably shaking my fist at the sky as well. Hehe. I would join you on the other side of your island but only if there was wifi. Then I could text you to bother you about something. :p
I am not evil- I am an enabler. *proud smile* Sorry that the shop was not working for you. Pfft. Any luck today? Who is the new favorite, will you tell us or am I going to have to stalk your Gallery and guess?

Kay- You sound like you had a very fun and productive day. I am not jealous. Nope, not at all. Can ya send me some of your productivity vibes, please??
Very smart idea to keep the computer on after the update. Good luck when you do have to reboot.

@Cherylndesigns Good luck on adopting! Part of me is missing my cats recently. (I don't miss the litter box!) I am sorry that you are dealing with the hassle of the Humane Society and references. We have gone through so many rescues/adoptions (foster fails *ahem*) and every one of them had different requirements. Only one called references that I know of and two called the vet- but sheesh-if you call my vet, you will end up giving me many dogs. They will tell you I am a sucker.
I don't think you are being picky about wanting an adult- and I hope that it might actually be easier to get one rather than a kitten. Both of my females were calicos, such pretty girls, chatty too.

@nancyr What a strange and happy and anxious time for you- to be so happy yet so worried. I hope that things start to work out for your son. Hang in there! Give Luther some pets for me too.

xoxo

Another day of babysitting my grandson! My husband has been a great help with the scrapping weekend. Grandson is crawling all over, climbing stairs and walking on furniture. It won't be long. He is into everything.

Was looking through my gallery and found this :D

We really need to get some stuff done in our garden - ended up cleaning the kitchen for almost 2 hrs, just to avoid it. I truly, utterly HATE my garden. Can't even enjoy spending time there, cuz all I feel is guilt. Made 2 Beatles themed layouts today. First took like forever to make, You know when you end up moving elements back and forth to get the perfect balance? Second one was quicker, cuz I used a freebie background paper that was an almost finished layout. Cheating is also digiscrapping ;)

Hubby and I are in a Beatlemania period. I challenge you all to come up with a band that's better. It's pure magic!

Not sure if I should go and sit down in front of the TV and knit a bit. Almost done with the first sleeve on a new sweater. Or if I should do another layout. NO! I'm not gonna go out in the garden!

@faerywings Ended up spending $14 in the store yesterday. I'll send you the bill. :D And my new favorite is After Midnight . Weird really, cuz it's not like anything I've used before. But I fell in love with all the cuteness. Hope I can use the kits, it's a bit out of my comfort zone with all the delicate elements.

Wow... off and running after sleeping in until 8AM. Guess my body needed the rest. I love the start of the month here at OScraps... so many wonderful new challenges!!! And the iNSD sales and Fab Friday Color Play sales.... I have been drooling over what is in the shop this weekend. I feel like it is Christmas with so many goodies to play with. I am hosting a challenge this month - so popped in to load the challenge LO in the gallery first thing.

Had to stop and make a run to the local library as 3 of my on-hold books were ready to be picked up and drop off 2 of the books that I got last week. And to make it even more special, 3 of the New Fiction books that I wanted to read were on the New Books rack!!! Saw the latest Iris Johannson and Roy Johannson - Blink of an Eye - on the New Book rack. Was really surprised as I knew it had a waiting list. Yep... when I tried to check it out got an error message - see librarian. Had her check and it was on hold for someone else. She said she could put me on the Wait list for it. Then... looked funny - said she would be right back; ran over the stacks and came back with another copy in her hand and was able to check that one out to me! :p Came home with 6 books - that should keep me occupied for the next few days.

It is a beautiful day - sunny with light winds blowing. So when I got home, I grabbed the weed killer sprayer and sprayed all the weeds in front and back yard. Have been needing to do that but couldn't when the strong winds were blowing. Xeriscaped yards still get weeds growing in among the rocks even with the weed barrier underneath due to the dirt/sand that gets blown in. That is better than having to mow grass but is a PITA to kill the weeds in the spring/summer. My Son-in-law who used to take care of my yard fell again and his back is bad. My back was talking to me by the time I finished spraying the front and back yards. Just took a pain pill and will sit on my massage chair unit for awhile this afternoon. I was hoping to see my niece this weekend but she has an upper respiratory infection and has been running a temp for the past few days. She is on meds so hopefully will be better early next week so we can visit again.

Hope every one has a great weekend.

Good afternoon ladies. Was out with the dogs, read some of my book (The Midnight Library) and watched a few shows with D. I haven't done many chores today so I think tomorrow will be filled with errands and chores (aside from taking the dogs to the park with Jen and Bella).

Brought Remi last night and today to the dog park but she is still really skittish which is normal, it'll take time for her to be comfortable around a lot of other dogs. She did really like a mini aussie (like her) and loved all the attention from the people.

I dropped a pretzel last night and she gobbled it up, loving it.

@faerywings I know you'd rather be outside but at least indoors you can work on your projects.

I'm getting a coffee and going to relax for a few minutes before feeding the dogs. BFN

Good morning ladies. Just dropping in to say hi and checking to see how everyone is doing. I've got two pages scrapped for the month of May so I'm hoping that is my new norm...but it probably isn't. LOL Just too much going on.

I created a paper chain for Shaun to show the number of days of school. He has 15 left...although I think one of those days is during senior finals and he has no finals so he won't need to go that day. That's pretty hard for this mama to believe. Even though he plans to go to the community college for his first two years and is in no hurry to leave.

Sydney has 28 days but most of her classes are AP and those exams run the next two weeks. Then she has a senior class that will have a final the following week. So the last 13 days of school for her will really be nothing. She will have one exam. I told her that she can be absent as much as she wants...I don't care. It is stupid to make them sit there when the teachers have said they will be finished with teaching.

Need to do some gardening this morning. I need some new fresh plants that have lots of color so today "gardening" means "shopping for plants". ;)

Good afternoon! Chris @faerywings the lady from the Humane Society called me yesterday and said we could have Sam. We had a very nice chat and I told her about the other cat. She suggested that we come over Tuesday evening (that's the next time she'll be there) and see if Sam and I make a connection. She was SO nice and we talked for about a half hour. Sam is the size I wanted - the Calico was very petite, but very sweet. We've had Lila all weekend and I'm about over having two dogs under my feet. LOL Now I'm second-guessing whether I want a cat under my feet. This is what happens if I have to wait so long. I start "overthinking". And, I HATE cleaning the litterbox! I'm really struggling with this right now.

It's raining here again, but we're not supposed to have flooding like we did last week. Ava and Braden came over yesterday and emptied about 30 bags of potting soil into my planter and most of my clay pots. They made it look like they were lifting nothing. Oh, to be young and strong again. Haha Then Braden planted Jacob! Hurray! We had a Jacob's-in-the-ground ceremony. LOL He's getting watered royally today, too. I wasn't sure where I wanted him, so I just told B to plant him somewhere. He can always be moved if he doesn't fit in with the landscaping that's going in soon.

Ava's wedding venue went off without a hitch. The rain held off until about midnight last night. There's a gazebo down by the little AirBnB and they decorated that with twinkle lights and white balloons. The wedding ceremony took place under that. Then they all went up to Ava's house and had a reception and party in her backyard. There were a LOT of cars going in and out so Miss Lila was "on guard" all evening. She's a lot "yappier" than Daisy, but when Lila gets started, then Daisy thinks she has to chime in. She's still here, but Adrienne and Roger are coming home this afternoon. Daisy's so low maintenance that I take her for granted. Lila is NOT. Haha

Well, I need to go do my first of the month stuff - haven't done that yet.

OMG please adopt cat! This will make me so happy! I swear cleaning litter box is the most zen thing in the modern world! Just repeat yourself that with this action you'll through away all the other s*** from your life!

ZEN, huh???? Well, I LOVE Zen, Felis. You might have just swayed me!!! I love you girls!!! I'm leaning towards Sam. Hubby won't let me take them both, so I have to choose.

The lady at the Humane Society (Rhonda) is not going to let anybody adopt Sam and she and I had a real "connection" on the phone yesterday. We talked for a half hour. We're meeting her tomorrow night - she won't be working until then,

@tanteva that is exactly how we got out cat Merlin. A long time ago, one of our cats died very suddenly- (heart defect) and Gary and the kids wanted a kitten, a small fluffy kitten. (Me-- I didn't want a cat at all, I was too heartbroken and told Merlin that I did not like him ATM but eventually I would). We went from adoption to shelter and back again and (they) were finally at the point of giving up. We were at the last shelter and this super sweet large adult male cat wouldn't leave us alone. The woman stayed past closing with us and let us bring him home that night. He turned out to be the BEST cat ever. He got my kids through so many difficult times and bonded with them instantly.
So much for a fluffy kitten, eh? :)

@felis only you would say that cleaning a little box is zen. hahahaha!!!!! It is like those Japanese tranquility gardens! :p

When we took over Mårten from his former owner (a friend's daughter), she was very nervous, because Mårten didn't like men. The moment we walked into her apartment, Mårten came running ... straight at hubby and wanted him to lift him up. Nowadays, I'm convinced Mårten is a reincarnation of Luigi (our first Siamese that passed away). They've got the same personality.
