Happy weekend! I slept really late, almost to 7 am. I was so exhausted last night but had a horrible time falling asleep. I tried doing sleep meditations with no luck, for some reason, they seemed to increase my anxiety levels. That could only happen with me

Yesterday was a decent day. Cleaning was fine. In the afternoon, I started to scrap a page for the Mixed Media Challenge and I am having fun with it. It isn't done yet but should be able to finish it up today. The rats were being total kooks in the afternoon, popcorning all over the cage. It is like they glitch. One second they are in a spot, the next second they are on the other side of the cage. Cait and I were laughing so hard. W was really good, she laid on the floor, just watching them. Although at one point, she wanted to sniff them, got her nose too close to the cage, Tat freaked out, W jumped back completely startled.

Today the FP I usually go to is closed, so I am going to a different one in town. Cait is coming with me so we should have a good time together. I need to make another batch of dog treats when I get back. J is so spiled, she doesn't like the Milk-Bone ones I get and turns her nose up at them. Literally. She sniffs it, turns her face and walks away. I bought more sweet potatoes the other day so I have everything I need.

Have a wonderful day and weekend!

Kay- How are you feeling today? You were so busy getting the house ready, so I hope you were able to take it easy yesterday.
I am going to have to check out Tony Hillerman, seems like many of you here like his books.
I feel bad- I don't think I am grieving for Floyd as much as I expected, or feel like I *should* be. Maybe because it has been a long time coming? I was always less attached to him too since he was always upstairs and he spent his time with the kids.

Rae- I LMBO at your comment on FB about the birds knowing that they should stay still for your pics! what a fab shot even if his feathers were slightly burred (I didn't notice at all BTW!).
I don't know how Ginny does it either. It seems like she loses a cat every other week, but she keeps on rescuing them. She is able to keep all of the FeLV/FIV positive cats together since they can't re-infect each other if they already have it. All of the FeLV neg cats have a separate place to live while she adopts them out.
It was infuriating to me seeing on SM how many people were saying/articles written about EW was the best, most informed, prepared candidate "if only" she wasn't a woman. For real??? :frusty:

Jean- I imagine it must feel so good to have your art hanging up for people to see it as well at to have a different piece in a gallery. You should be really proud! Enjoy the MM class. Make sure you take pics for us to see your work.

Nancy- That is really cool about the cataract surgery correcting the distance vision for your DH. So exciting to hear about wedding plans! Ah, yes, meatless Fridays for Lent. My brother always texts me- every year for 26 years since I got married/moved out- to remember to not eat meat on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Good for DS and his GF to be good role models for that.

Felis- please don't ever feel like you can't express joy and happiness just because I am in a mood. Good moods can be contagious too and I get happy when others around me are happy. Knowing that other people care is a big help to me. Thank you for it!

Trudy- how was your voice after all that chatting on the phone? What a busy day, and hope you had a nice evening out!

xoxo

I fell asleep while reading last night only to be woken up by a robo-call at 10 PM!!! Couldn't go back to sleep so read for a couple of hours. At least I got 6 hours once I did go to sleep.

I kept saying I was going to rest yesterday but spent some time taking the last of the stuff out of the guest room and into the garage - sorted into the donation area and moving the chest of drawers where it needs to be. Talked to my cousin yesterday and she has a POD at her place so is busy sorting, packing, etc. Had a couple of 'lookers' but no nibbles on the house yet.

Rae, I agree with Chris... LMBO over the birds knowing they need to hold still while you take their photo!

Jean, how fabulous that you had one of your projects in the gallery show.

Nancy, I had cataract surgery... it is amazing how much better the vision is once it is done. I only need glasses for reading.

Trudy, how marvelous that you got all that visiting in with family.

Karen, what good news you had from the cardio doc! So happy to hear that.

Chris, think your accepting of Floyd's passing is due to knowing it was coming. Glad you and Cait had so much fun playing with the rats.

Need to get another cup of coffee and something to eat. CYL

Good morning ladies. Read my book, got out into the garden for photos and have some desk work and editing to do before taking Taz out and running some errands. I'm going to look for a few props I might still have to put in my bag for tomorrow. I'm heading out to my GS's early tomorrow morning to take pics of him and baby mama. Then I'll be heading back into town to spend the afternoon with B. Then home to edit a couple of pics so they will be anxious to see them. It'll be a busy wkend but enjoyable. I hope to scrap a challenge page tonight while binging a tv show. I'm sure the wkend is going to fly by.

Chris - love your stories of the little rats, so cute. Hope you get a better sleep tonight. I'm in awe of Ginny and all she does for the cats, she sure sounds like a special person. Glad you are ok about losing Floyd, it may hit you another time or if not, that's ok, your mind came to peace with it and you can move forward. As for J being picky, I had to laugh b/c you know Taz won't eat hardly anything and will spit stuff out or just turn his head and look away :)

Kay - glad you got more sleep after being awake for a few hrs. Don't know how you can read in the middle of the night, wish I could. Unfortunately, I get into that half awake/half asleep mode and can't focus enough to do anything and can't go back to sleep. It drives me crazy. All I can do is leave the tv on, close my eyes and lay there until eventually I fall asleep again.

Hope everyone has a great wkend. I better get moving now.

Just a quick HI! before heading out to (earlier due to daylight saving time!) the workshop. Wanted to tell Trudy that after wondering what cradle boards might be I'm about to do a project on a 6" square one this morning.

Sunny and warming here, hope it's a good one for you!

Did everyone get a good night's sleep and wake up refreshed? I did in a way, I am just very stiff and sore. I was going to say it was for no reason, but I remembered that I was on my feet from 12.30 to 5 pm almost entirely non-stop. Whoops.
FP was done differently than the one that I usually go to. Not that differently but they offer different things. They get donations from Starbucks and I was very happy to grab a bottle of coffee flavoring syrup, frappucino chips, and mocha syrup. I baked brownies with the frap chips and had that with some of the mocha syrup for dessert. mmmm. I was also able to get lettuce and a few chopped salad kits- you know for balance ;)
After making the brownies, I made more dog treats but for some reason, they were not mixing/rolling right. I think I didn't grind the oats enough because they were so crumbly. That took me forever to bake and brought me to the point where I needed to start dinner. By 5, I was tired and my foot hurt. Today is going to be trying to rest it as much as possible.

What good plans do you have today? HAGD!! xo

Kay- that stinks so much!!!! If the phone rings here after 9 pm, I about have a heart attack that it is bad news. I hope that your book is a good one.
Hmmm. Who do you sound like, kept saying that you should rest but didn't... haha!!

Cait gave the rats some pieces of cantaloupe on this skewer that hangs in their cage. All of them other than Evie were pushing and jumping on each other to get bits of it. Tat does this silly thing with her hands, circling them in front of her so fast that they are a blur. She videoed it in slow-motion and it looks hysterical. Immi is so gentle and dainty eating it and then the BG's--- they are brutal hahaha!!!!

Rae- Have a wonderful time at the pg-shoot today. How much longer until the due date?
Have a fab time with B, are you bringing Taz with you to visit?
what is it with picky dogs? I know that Taz has medical issues with food, but J has absolutely no reason to be so picky :D
I think Floyd will hit me every once in a while. Any of the losses get to me when I am in the pet food aisle in the supermarket and when we unpack the Christmas stockings for them. But overall, I know he is not suffering anymore and for that I am grateful.

I am off to get some b-fast and more coffee. I am planning on spending the day in sweats and scrapping *fingers crossed*

Morning, all. Got 9 hours of sleep last night. My body really needed it. DD#3 and hubby came over yesterday and he hauled the recycle/dump stuff off. DD and I talked about when to get to work on straightening out the office. Decided that sometime in April would be best.... unless my cousin's place sells before that. After they left, I sorted through a few more bins and boxes... and loaded up several more bags of donations. DD and hubby will be here on Wednesday - we will load/drop the donations off then go to lunch. DD has a dental appt that afternoon so it taking the day off from work. That leaves me with a bag of stuff animals. DD#1 also has some so I volunteered to take them - will drop them off at the police department. They give a toy or animal to children when they have to remove them from a home or other similar situation. GGDaughter#1 did a toy drive at her school last year for the same cause.

Today/tomorrow will be getting ready for the Red Hat lunch here on Tuesday. I need to decide what dessert I am going to fix for it and get the table set. Should be light work days for me...hahahaha Maybe I can rest a bit and recover from the last couple of weeks. The body is really talking to me. The poor foot was so swollen yesterday that slippers were all I could stand to wear. Yes, Chris... I know someone else who over-does even when she says she is going to "rest"!!!! :p :eyebrows: LOL

Chris, I agree... a phone call after 8 PM gives me a jolt - thinking that something bad has happened. So sorry you were up and on your feet for such a long stretch of time. Hey, great score on at the FP... Sorry that the doggie treats weren't as easy to make this time. Hope you get to rest your poor foot today.

Rae, I know you will have fun doing the pg-shoot. Sounds like you have a full day.

Jean, I am sure your project will turn out good. Take a pic and share it with us.

Coffee cup is empty and needs a refill. Then I have a couple of CT projects I must get done today. Hope everyone is not too sleepy or late due to the time change. I reset the clocks last night except for a couple. Need to get them done ASAP. I always forget to reset the clock in the car until months downstream. LOL

Hello, girls! And Happy International Women's Day! :cosmo:cosmo
Here it is actual celebration, and we could mentioned it as a 'Mother's day' or as a 'Lady's party', depends of do you have or not kids, which I thing is much better than one concrete discriminative 'Mother's day'. So we celebrate with brunch with pancakes and lots of chat and laugh. Then everybody goes out on evening party. I was plan to go too, but ironically today is one of these 'ladies days' and you know about my PCOS, which make sometimes these days very painful. So I decided it's a better option to stay at home and listening (sometimes dancing on my one) the Spotify playlist that my favorite singer made for his fans. I'm always curious to sneak pick in his taste beyond his own projects.
It's so strange, I'm completely alone. It's pouring rain so my pets are inside at the other apartment, and mom got her dog with them. Alone! I'm so comfortable with my melancholy, and almost get acclimated with the belly pain. It's a beautiful evening after all...hm...

Chris, everybody grief at different way, it's alright! It's normal even to not feel sad if philosophically you looks on that as the beginning of his life at Eden. There is no norm!
Really hopes that you'll give it slow, before to hurt your ankle worse!

Kay, oh my, I have few boxes with toys, but can't find where to donate them as law here wants chemical cleaning not later than 5 days before the donation, and it's will be more expensive than to buy new stuff. I'm so happy to hear that you have such a good option!

Jean, I'm so happy and proud that you are part of exhibition, so totally deserved!

Rae, you busy bee, have fun on the photo session!

Trudy, hope you're enjoying your weekend! Very belated birthday wishes to the lovely Sadie!!! I hate to be negative, but can't keep my mouth shut, I adore Africa, but aren't this too much dirt and bugs for kids to be exposed on?!?

Nancy, I'm so scared from any kind of eye manipulation, even simple eye drops! Hope your husband is OK with the situation and will recovery fast!
