Spring-Countdown-4-300x180.jpg

18 days to go!!!

I think when I started the countdown it was over 30-something days, right? It really is feeling like is getting closer on the calendar even if not by the temperature. It has been really nice to see the sunshine the last couple of days.

I was already feeling "old" with my niece's 24th b-day but wow, my mom kicked me when I was down yesterday. She told me that I had bigger bags around my eyes than she did. (not just *under* my eyes but *over* them as well) Thanks, Mom. :/ I guess I was tired and tried to cover them up, put some makeup on for the first time in a very long time. Moms always seem to see past that, however. We has a nice time just the two of us catching up a bit.
BTW:
My mom is visiting today and she promised that she won't complain about my dad. Don't waste your money taking bets on that, I will guarantee that she will at least once. LOL

She honestly did very well with that. There was one time she said- "now this is not a complaint, but what do you think when dad did XYZ." LOL!!!! It wasn't a terrible complaint, more of an annoyed observation so I will let it slide ;)
Cait and I are off to the FP and hope to bring back some chocolate donuts. I should get my list started of some of the other things I need. Tissues-- It is next to impossible to get tissues at the supermarket. Who knows why, but the only ones they had were the lotion ones.
After that, I think I am going to check out some of the new kits in the shop by our two new designers. I have been drooling over the Gallery, so many drool-worthy kits and pages.

Wishing everyone a fab weekend!

@tanteva Big squishy hugs. I wish I had something I could say or do to make you feel better, physically and mentally.
I can't imagine how unnerving it is to have Russian planes going into your airspace at this point in time, especially after seeing the nuclear plant on fire. I can't wrap my head around any of this. :(
*knocks wood* I never heard of triffids before but (my autocorrect has LOL) that is like one of the *last* things we need haha
Love the skeleton dancing and hope that you got some scrapping done too.

@BrightEyes Hope you got a good score at the library!

@taxed4ever How was your shopping, hope that you got everything that you needed!

@Lynn Grieveson Hi!! Welcome to the kooky corner of the O. LOL! I have said this a million times already but these threads saved my sanity over the years more times than I can count. (Don't listen to Eva who says that I never had any sanity to save). I saw that you live in/near Wellington which means I have to share my "deep connection" to that town in one of my favorite TV shows- Wellington Paranormal :p If you ever see anything paranormal there, you have to let me know ROTFLMAO
You will always have an open seat at the Daily Ooos Kitchen Table/Friendly Neighborhood Bar/Coffee Shop/Therapist Couch.

Kay- you really did well at the library!! All of your errands were very successful. Hope you aren't too tired today.
Wasn't Karen's Tip Challenge awesome again? I am keeping all of her tutorials saved on my computer so I can go back to them again. I literally had no idea what the Color Replacement Brush was until I tried it out. I knew it is above the Mixer Brush (also no idea what that does other than it must "mix" things) in the Fly Out but that was about it.

@Cherylndesigns heh, I knew you would get a kick out of my latest page with Braxton :D
I should have Scott take me out on a hike soon if it ever gets warm enough for me- you know he will hike in any kind of weather, the crazy kid. He and LL used to forage for mushrooms a lot, I got them foraging tools/knife/collecting bag a few years ago. I wonder who has it? If she does maybe she will go and find some mushrooms and they make her sick -- just vomiting sick., Nothing more than that, I am not that mean. Still angry, however, obvs
We have mullein all over too, that gets huge!
Just be careful with any invasive plants--- that is what Scott specialized in for his degree- they can be very, very nasty.

@bcgal00 Wow, that is incredible how much stuff you are donating and tossing. And to think, you started this last year. I am happy for you all, that everything is moving forward. I do hope that you're going to take time once you get settled to process everything you went through (tell me to shut up if I am butting in too much). You know I worry about you all.
Smart of you to crate Remi to get her to wind herself down. My dogs have been extra braky and annoying but I think it is from being cooped up. I would be barking too if I could.

Trudy- I hear ya!! Everything is so expensive. I was thinking again how glad I am that Scott didn't take the job that was over an hour away. he would basically be working to pay for gas. Much smarter that he is working locally even if the wage is less.
ITA-- every page I have seen with the kit Kindness Changes Everything knocks me off my feet! (ok- off my butt since I am always sitting on it LOL). Soooo incredible!!
IMHO it should always be wine o'clock

@scrap-genie It sounds like you had a terrific day! 99% of the time I think that David Tennent is my favorite Doctor. Allonz-y! The other 1% is me trying to think about who would be in 2nd place. Usually Matt Smith. I was disappointed with Jodie Whittaker, b/c I like her in other things, thought it was awesome to have a female Dr but we couldn't get into the latest season. :(

Eva- please go to the doctor... this is going on too long :( Sending you more hugs and some tea with lots of honey

oh my-- I am so late, I think I need to get off of the computer and get my day started yikes.... xoxo

Good morning ladies. It's still morning...just barely...but I will take that as a victory. Obviously, I haven't quite found my rhythm yet now that I am back to work. But I will...because I want to so badly!

Exciting times here at the O! The new designers and the new members. So much to keep up with.

I'm going to update you with everything going on around here and then I will go catch up on personals. I promised Brian that we would get the taxes shipped out today but the rest of the afternoon is dedicated to the O.

Most recent news, Decker is being boarded. He was moved from the place where the fight occurred and so today was the first time that Shaun or I had a chance to see him since he left a week ago Thursday. He has adjusted to the new kennel nicely...it isn't as fancy as where the kids work but it is pretty nice and he is well treated there. The rescue woman met us there and we got to meet one of the workers who told us what a sweet dog Decker is. They have found a couple that may be willing to take Decker...they have a female dog that is kind of skittish but they are used to having two dogs. They just moved and Mary was going to take Decker over to interact with them (not the dog). Big problem is that they aren't quite ready...probably be a couple of weeks...and Decker's boarding is over on Tuesday because the place is booked for spring break. So...how to solve that problem. Well, Shaun and I thought we could make it work...a few obstacles but not really big ones. The biggest one is Brian...but between Shaun and I we sweet talked Brian and he said that we could take him back until spring break is over...then, hopefully, he will have a new home.

Syd's friend isn't able to make it from Iowa, so instead of heading to Tampa next Friday night, Syd and I will head to Gainesville and spend the night and then walk around figuring out dorm locations and off campus housing. I'm not kidding when I say that I am ready for some of these decisions to be made. Syd and I will hustle back from Gainesville early Saturday afternoon and then Brian and I will head to Orlando for Billy Joel. Yes, it is really happening! That paper chain is shortening! And I need to get that layout made!

Now, Brian has asked to go to lunch. So lunch it is...before taxes and before my scrapping day! I'll be back soon!

Thanks @faerywings :) LOL at your Mom and that 'gee thanks Mom' moment ;) Glad you like Wellington Paranormal. It's so funny watching it here, because we can spot all the locations. Those guys are hilarious and I love that Officer O'Leary was still working as a preschool teacher while they filmed :p. It's a very 'Kiwi' sense of humour and great to share it with the rest of the world. If you haven't seen the movie "What we do in the shadows' (that inspired the series and the other series of the same name) I recommend that too. So much fun to see something set in Wellington.

Good morning!

Chris, you made me LOL over the mushrooms. Ava and her BF forage for them all the time. He knows everything, I swear - such an outdoorsman. Sounds a lot like Scott. About the "invasive plant"- "invasive" was the wrong word to use. "Spreading" is better. It's babies breath and it spreads like crazy. Here's what the side of our house looks like - the garden is going to be right on the other side of the railroad tie and out approximately 3 feet, then running back along the side of the house. (If you can picture that.)

web-size.jpg

Ava's BF is supposed to be bringing me some bamboo to plant down at the beginning of the woods. That IS invasive, but I don't care - it's in the woods. In Florida, you can't plant bamboo except in containers because it's so invasive. I juve LOVe it, though and love to listen to it.

That's funny about your mom - I can't believe she said that to you. See, it's because you put makeup on. BWAJAJA She wouldn't have noticed otherwise.

Eve @tanteva sending you hugs and I think about you daily.

Linda @LSlycord so sad about Decker, but they'll find him a good fit. He just wasn't a good fit for your family. Have fun with Brian today and have a good lunch.

Going to sign off and get a few things done. I'm going out with the girls later on today.

Lynn @Lynn Grieveson I echo what Chris said - we'd love for you to drop in when you can. We're kinda kookie here, but have a lot of fun and talk about some interesting?????? things, like skeletons, rats, skulls, just normal things like that. Hahahaha

Well, the morning is almost over and here I sit... still in my PJs! LOL I didn't get around to working on the DVD inventory yesterday afternoon. The cold front blew in with gusts up to 65 mph!!! And steady winds at 45 mph or stronger the rest of the day/night. The dirt was so bad that visibility went down below 1 mile! Had power flickering here that made me decide to stay off the computers. Had to go out and take the patio swing seat off the frame... then in less than an hour - it was blown up against the patio table. Had to go rescue it and move it over into a sheltered corner. Waiting to see if the winds are going to get as bad today before I rehang it. I would say that MARCH came in like a lion... with the high winds. Decided to watch one of the 'new to me' DVDs last evening to get my mind off the howling winds... Mrs, Doubtfire with Robin Williams. It had some specials about the making of it, changing him to look like a woman and interviews with the cast. Really enjoyed it.

Just got a call from DD#3... she is coming over so need to get my shower and get dressed. BL

Good morning ladies. I'm heading out with the dogs soon for a morning walk. My back is bugging me so I'll be mindful of packing today and won't be lifting any boxes. I'll pack them up and let D stack them with the other boxes. I have to take photos of backdrops and stands today and hopefully sell them on marketplace.

I'll come back later when I take a break in the afternoon. Enjoy the wkend.

Happy Saturday everyone! Another busy day with my DH! Lots of errands to run. We have to go and find him some new clothes today also. He has lost so much weight that all of his pants are falling off of him LOL. Time for some new t-shirts and sweatshirts too. It could be another expensive day! I think I deserve a new outfit too, after all its because of my hard work to get my DH on Keto that he has lost all this weight LOL Right?? It is a gorgeous sunny day and tomorrow is supposed to be the same, hopefully we will get out for a nice walk and start to work on the cleaning up of the gardens tomorrow. Monday my friend that I met for lunch wants to do a hike to Stoney Hill, of course I said yes, I really need the exercise!

@faerywings - Oh dear, you Mom kicked you while you down LOL. That's what Mom's do we see right through our kids and call them on it!! ;). Hope you and Cait have lots of luck at the FP today! Yes good thing that Scott is working closer to home! Gas prices are the highest in Canada right here In British Columbia of course .

@LSlycord - My goodness so much happening for your family right now! Good on you for offering to care for Decker during spring break! Hopefully things will go smoothly while he is with you! You must be getting very excited for the Concert coming up! I hope you and Syd have a great time together in Gainesville!

@Lynn Grieveson - I will have to see if I can find that show Wellington Paranormal, it sounds like its a hoot! Hope to get to work with your gorgeous products after the weekend is over. You see my DH usually keeps me very busy on the weekends, but we have lots of fun together and get lots done!

@scrap-genie - waving hello to you and hope that you are enjoying a sunny day with warmer temps!!

@bcgal00 - Ugh Rae, sorry you have tweaked your back again!! Take care of you today and let your DH do all the heavy lifting!

@Cherylndesigns - Wow sounds like you are going to be busy with all the gardens! Nice that you will have one big shared garden for the edibles!!

@BrightEyes - Kay have you never seen Mrs. Doubtfire before?? I love that show! Hope the winds have died down in your neck of the woods! Enjoy all of your new DVD's !!

Well its time to get ready to go, wish us luck on finding some new clothing for my DH today (maybe me too) LOL.

@Lynn Grieveson We are WWDITS *fanatics* here. We have watched the first two seasons of the USA show several times. We own the movie and we have even seen the movie-pilot on YouTube a few times.
It is one of the movies/shows that my family will quote over and over. SOOOOO darn funny!!
Can you recognize who they are? Halloween 2020 :D

There was a TV show that did a tiny bit of filming in my town and we watched the first season looking for local spots- one of the only places we could recognize was an abandoned gas station. Not even close to Wellington Paranormal level excitement hah

@faerywings I'm so glad that you had such a good day with your mom! And, yes, spring really is coming!

@Lynn Grieveson welcome! I'm so happy that you have stopped in here. And I am definitely going to sign up for your newsletter.

@BrightEyes it sounds like your wind was pretty scary. Glad that you survived your winds and I bet that Mrs. Doubtfire was the perfect movie to end your evening. (My hometown in Iowa just had a tornado about 2 hours ago. Because of Facebook, I was able to see the damage. Fortunately, my brother's family is all on a group chat with me so I was able to get updates and know that they were all safe.)

@tanteva I'm so sorry that this whole Russian thing is causing so much anxiety. It is just such a bad time... I hope that you get to feeling better physically so that you can have more reserve for the stuff going on with the world.

@Cherylndesigns I agree...I love bamboo. They say that there is a non-invasive species now that I'd love to put in....but I don't want it to get away from me and destroy the pool deck.

@taxed4ever what great news about your husband's weight loss. Brian has lost 30 pounds since the first of the year...and I have lost 12. But I am so happy for him. He had to get a new belt to keep the too big shorts up. I did Keto two summers ago and took off about 15 pounds. I am thinking that we maybe should go back to it for a livable lifestyle while we try to keep the weight off. Thinking that we may soon be ready to get back into the pool....all week is 80 degrees and above.

@bcgal00 the pages of the calendar just keep turning. Before long you will be actually settling into the new place!

in 17 days!

It is going to feel a bit like spring today even if it is going to rain. As long as I am not cold in my bones it will be a good thing. Some of the snow melted off of the little front garden and I saw moss. Normally, I wouldn't be excited about moss on the soil but it was GREEN!!! *dancing*

There is a big migration of black birds happening here. Huge clouds of them in the trees and then they all fly away at once. That never registered with me until March 2020. It was a day or so before everything shut down and Caitlyn had just been possibly exposed to COVID so we had to quarantine. We were sitting at dinner and talking about how crazy everything was, I had been stocking up on food and TP (this was all before those shortages hit) and that sense of foreboding was strong. As we are talking, a huge *swarm* of these birds lifted out of the trees and lawn and it felt almost apocalyptic as they kept flying and swirling through the sky.

Big bummer at the FP - there were no donuts or any Entenmanns at all. Boooo. *wipes tear*
I did get tissues and some meat and cheese. And coffee!! Two beautiful cans of coffee :D

I spent some time in the Gallery and then I had to grab the collab kit by Rachel and Lynn. OMG, that kit is to die for! I am almost done with the page. I have to decide if I want to keep adding "stuff" to it or not. Paint and paper scraps and scribbles-- My kind of kit. I can go crazy with that, in a good way, of course. :D

I really should clean my house today. But I don't want to.

Hope that you all have a fab day!

Good morning. The bad weather that hit my hometown yesterday was a little worse than I first realized. It was an F1 and took a roof off a manufacturing company about 1/2 mile from my brother's house and my nephew's house. A town about 25 miles from our town had an F3 go through and 6 people lost their lives. It's really early for the tornado season there. I hope that they won't have a bad one.

Kids are working today...Sydney is already at work and Shaun works this afternoon...so Brian and I are going to a nearby strawberry festival. I didn't get the taxes yesterday so I still have that to do today! Hope everyone has a good day!

@LSlycord You will get into the swing of things, I know you will!! How is the job, going well so far?
You are so kind to help Decker out again, and I truly hope that this new family is able to keep him. Part of me wants to take him.
That has to be very exciting for you and Syd to be looking hard at housing! Is off-campus housing allowed for freshmen?

@Lynn Grieveson My DD Caitlyn was telling us recently about how they found Officer O'Leary and that she was only supposed to do a quick walk-on bit but they loved her so much that they expanded it. Those shows crack me up so much.

@Cherylndesigns I had a feeling that you didn't mean "invasive." With Scott's background in invasive plants, it is reflexive for me to freak out a bit when I hear it. :D
I know you will use that baby's breath in your wreaths, will look so pretty!

Hey-- who talks about skeletons and rats and skulls? Not me!! Bwuahah!!
It has to be much nicer to hear me go on and on about the rats and Braxton and his main squeeze, Linguine O'Brien over my *#%$#%& about the weather :D

@BrightEyes how was your visit with DD#3?
The weather sounds awful by you, was it calmer yesterday? Everything must be so dusty from the dirt flying about.
I love Mrs. Doubtfire. I miss Robin Williams. What a treat at the end of the day

@bcgal00 Hope you had a wonderful time with the dogs, good luck selling your next batch of stuff

@taxed4ever Heh!! Yes, you totally deserve a new outfit too. Who did most of the research/shopping/preparing the food that let your Gary lose weight? *G*
Enjoy the weather and yard today
Yesssss!!! Find and watch Wellington Paranormal!!! Soooo funny!!!!!

Hugs to you all!!

@faerywings it was hard to see Decker yesterday because he was so excited to see both Shaun and me. But once Mary told us that he had a potential adoptive family, it really lifted spirits. And while it will definitely be chaotic while he is with us, I just couldn't stand the thought of him going through another transition to somewhere he didn't know. The meeting with the prospective couple that are looking to adopt him went very well and so I'm hopeful that he may go to their home to live by the time he leaves us.

Morning, gals....

I ended up spending the whole afternoon yesterday with DD#3. We are trying to get things ready for her surgery in less than 2 weeks. I now have 4 pair of side-snap pants that need to be shortened. She won't be able to put the bad leg down to touch the ground for 2 weeks after the surgery, so has a kneeling scooter. Had to make sure she knew how to maneuver around the house with it... had to move a few things out of the way. Looks like she will be here earlier than we thought as she needs to quarantine for at least a week prior. As others in her house work outside the home, she is going to stay at my house for that period and stay with me for a couple of weeks longer afterwards. She will be working from my house prior to surgery, so had to get the dining room set up for her work computer/monitors/etc. That is good that she will have that done while she is still mobile so she knows the set-up will work for her when she is back at work during her recovery. The week prior to surgery will be time to make sure she has things arranged so they will work for her during her recovery. I don't have 5G internet here so will be a learning curve as to if I can be on it when she is working, too. I will be going with her for her pre-op appointment and to meet her doctor tomorrow afternoon. Have to admit it will be nice having someone here for awhile.

@faerywings - the winds have died down so the dirt isn't flying around anymore. Thank goodness the windows, etc... are sealed good - so not much dirt/dust got in the house. I need to sweep off the outside doorsills but that is about it. Yes... it is colder today... and will be doing a yo-yo of cool to cold temps for the next week. I vote that you let the house cleaning go for a few more days... LOL... DD was so good - she helped me rehang the patio swing now that the winds have calmed down.

I really did enjoy seeing Mrs. Doubtfire again. Yes, I saw it many years ago but really enjoyed watching it again - especially the interviews with the cast and other specials that were included on the 2nd disc. DD#3 was looking over some of the DVDs I just got and she is already plotting on which ones we will be watching while she is here! :D :);) She discovered that my BluRay player has streaming access (which I never realized) but she was having problems getting it set up. She plans on working on it once she is down here before her surgery.

I plan on getting my new DVD's into the computer inventory today... then I will put them away into the bookcase. Of course, DD reminded me to set a few of them aside so we can watch them.

Off to get dressed and get busy on some of the 'must - do's'. CYL

Good morning ladies. I'll be photographing stuff to sell today and then purging/packing some more in the basement. My back is feeling better today. We picked out a dining room set so have to call Wayfair tomorrow and see if they can arrange delivery after we move in. The dogs had fun at the park yesterday but today I'll stay home so I can focus on packing but will take them out into the school yard this afternoon to chase the ball. We finished Dexter New Blood last night, we really enjoyed it. Tonight we'll watch The Walking Dead and Talking Dead (2 of each).

@faerywings I agree about the collab with Rachel and Lynn, the two of them together is magic. I know your excitement about the "green". I felt the same way when I saw a dahlia trying to poke up thru the ground a few days ago. Then the dogs trampled it so it was short lived.

@LSlycord Hope you get the taxes done. We will have to wait a bit to do ours, too much going on right now.

@BrightEyes Sounds like everything is under control for your daughter's surgery and recovery process at your home.

I'm getting another coffee, checking the new collab out and then getting into the shower so I can get going with my day.

Hi everyone!

This weekend we haven't really done so much. I had to pick Keaton up from school early on Friday as he had an upset stomach and we stayed at home Saturday to make sure his tummy had settled and all has been well from later on during Friday afternoon thank goodness.

I have been catching up on Laundry which there is always tons of and trying to dip into the forum and gallery here but I haven't been able to spend as much time here as I'd have liked.

I had big plans to clean the house after lots of late nights and long days in the past several weeks but I was hit with a wave of exhaustion so that didn't get done, I have a nasty cough which luckily isn't covid, but we have some kind of germ going around here as hubby doesn't feel well and spent yesterday afternoon sleeping.

Today we broke the day up by popping into town for the little ones to spend some pocket money, they got some new toys and I bought Mackenzie some dresses. Was hoping to get her new shoes but I didn't like what I found in the shops. We then went out for lunch (well I had an English breakfast for my lunch - YUM) and then we popped into the supermarket. One of Keaton's class mates mum's works on the till and it was the first time he had seen her working in there. It was quite hilarious, he was kind of starstruck and kept asking mummy why is Jas on the till? Where is Amanpreet??!! He just didn't understand WHY she was working at the checkout lol.

I have been working on some CT stuff ready to bring some fun at the O so that's been keeping me busy too, tonight I am updating my website, working on schedules and adverts and some other stuff like that.

Hope you all have a great rest of your Sunday!

Hi all! Of all days that I didn't get in here - Rachel @Rachel Jefferies pops in and eva @tanteva '"might" feel better??? I hope anyway!

I'll try to come back for personals later on but I've been gone all day - you all know Sundays are hit or miss with me - usually end up spending them with the family. Adrienne, Ava and I have been out all day - went to lunch, then shopping. I got THE coolest new vest - it was one of "those finds" that I HAD to have! It fell off the rack and onto my body. BWAHAHA I'll try to take a picture, but it's fur with leather strips hanging all over the front. VERY Western - Chuck LOVES it!! Think Yellowstone.

I also bought a cool Oklahoma sweatshirt and a shirt to wear under my new vest and some new shades. I scored big time today.

Chris @faerywings see what happens when I don't shop on Amazon for 1 month??? I knew you knew what I didn't mean by invasive - LOL but that babies breath needs a lot of room and I used to grow it when we lived in Michigan. I need a ton of it and can't wait to get my plants. Chuck's all geeked about the new garden and he's getting me super excited now.

I think I'm going to sign off now and get a few things done before we have to go to Adrienne and Roger's for Family Dinner. We grocery shopped while we were out and we're having chicken and steak fajitas.

Hugs to all.
