Oh yay for weekends!!!!!! If today was not a Saturday, and my alarm went off, I probably would have thrown it across the room.

What a nightmare of a day yesterday. I was able to get an appt with the GP at noon yesterday. We get there at noon, brought into the exam room at 12.20. They take walk ins and the wait times are typically on the longer side. We watch the time go past 1 pm. By 1.20 we are talking about walking out, but we had already invested an hour and a half. At 1.40 (yes, you read that right), the nurse comes and and says that the Dr had stepped into a meeting and would be a little while longer.
WTF?????????????????
(sorry for the language, maybe I mean fuuuuuudddggggee to quote a favorite Xmas movie *winks* )
I looked at the nurse and said that we had been here since 12. She ducks out, saying that she would let the dr know. Riiiight. Cait and I looked at each other and said -- 5 minutes. If s/he doesn't come in in 5 minutes we are leaving. We'll get a drs note for her attendance and that would be that.
When she sees us leaving she goes and grabs the dr from the mtg. who comes right out and take Cait back into the office, apologizing. They are expanding the practice to include more specialties and this was a meeting of bigwigs who seem to think that they can schedule a mtg in the middle of the day, patients be damned He said that this was actually a good thing for them to see that they affect people when they won't schedule meetings after hours.

He talks to Cait, checks out all of her records, and suggests a GI. There is one inthe group, and he has the nurse call to make sure he is in her ins plan and schedules an appt for her on Monday. He also said she should get an ultrasound and tried to get her in to the facility in the building but they didn't have any openings.

So we will see what the GI says and go from there. The lab is right across the hall from the dr so we popped in there and got Cait's blood done for her LLMD. All in all, a fun (ha! /snark!!!) day.

Today I still feel like crud, and I am going to get something to eat, and some advil cuz my head has been killing me for the last several days. Then I want to plop myself in front of my computer and scrap.

Here's to a wonderful day and weekend!
*cheers*

Nancy- have you been able to to figure out anything for your photos and Lightroom? There has to be a workaround, right?
When my puppers came in yesterday morning, they both had snowy noses, so cute! How cute of Luther and your DH to be out chasing deer together :)
Cait's break isn't until the end of April, which stinks, but we are both really looking fwd to nicer weather.

Ummm, Trudy?? I don't think it is Lazy as much as exhausted! You did a LOT of work between the kids and the house and the puppy! Take some time to rest! (Don't you love it when I give everyone advice that I never take myself? hahahh!!)
I am sending you tons of gentle hugs, but don't take them until you have had your morning coffee I wouldn't want my head bit off
This^^ needed a Spit warning!!!!! :cofscreen:

It is so hard to not be totally jealous of Kat in HI! Aaahhh!!!

How did Taz do at the vet, Rae? Hope he is ok. Your honey garlic chicken sounds yummy- do you have a recipe? Would love to try something like that and maybe some whole wheat sesame noodles on the side for Cait.
We have some deer here, but not tons. At my parents house in PA they get lots and lots. I don't think there has ever been a time that we have been there where we haven't seen any. 2 summers ago, Scott and Cait were feeding them some bread and they came within a few feet of the kids. I know I have some pics of that somewhere.
hahah!! That penguin is so cute!

Jean- Same as you--I am thrilled to see that we have some 50-60* weather coming up this week!
Owowowowow!! Sciatica is horrible, did he have a cortisone shot? That in itself is horrible too. I had one inmy wrist once and I almost passed out. And you see how good I am with needs and IVs... *shudders in memory* I hope that the shot and PT helps. Sorry to hear about your health care/insurance issues. The whole system stinks! Do you have Medicare? That is what Gary has and what a mess that can be. My fam-- 4 people, 3 different plans and they are all frustrating!
Thank you for the coffee bath, yumm!!!!! Can I get another one for today, please? :D

hugs love sunshine and happy thoughts for all of you!

good morning! Yesterday I got a new app Chris that you might be interested in it is called Photomyne. I have had all these photos to scan and it is in the office upstairs and out of the way and a pain. Well I came across this app and it scans and saves and it does a great job! I am so happy with it. I can sit anywhere and scan with my phone. They save the photos on their site but I saved them to my phone. These are photos my Aunt gave me, photos from 1935 so they are very special. So I had fun scanning while watching my Devils team lose to Dallas. They kept it close but in the 3rd my goalie Cory Schneider was injured. Not good. Had two good walks with Luther. It was fun in the snow flurries. Also got out my tablet to see if I could set it up with my new computer. Well I could but it will take practice. Today and tomorrow are very low key as my son is off to DC and my next hockey game is Sunday afternoon. So more scrapping and having fun!

Chris I can't believe how Drs think patients have time to while away in their waiting rooms. Specialists seem to do a better job! Good luck! Take a rest today and enjoy your coffee!

Kat hope you are living it up in Hawaii!

Rae how is your dog?

Jean yes we are to be getting warm weather! Yea!

Have a great day all!

LOL not quite in Hawaii ... yet. This weekend is all kinds of running around with last minute stuff - oh yeah, like laundry and, um, packing?! That would be helpful, wouldn't it? Tomorrow will be working on office stuff, like payroll, since there are some things my sidekick has yet to be trained in - understandable - the poor woman has only been with us for two weeks, and she was out three days last week (to attend her son's graduation - he's now a marine! Cool!).

Heard from the vet that Haddie made it through surgery with flying colors and last night was resting in doggy ICU. Her teeth cleaning was great, no extractions. The two lumps they removed have been sent for a biopsy, so I guess we wait on that. Funny, the house is SO QUIET!!! Amazing how much noise a small dog can generate all on her own! LOL

Just a quick post - need to get upstairs and finally get to some tile repairs. Oh, the list never seems to end ...

Gray day today but OK. Think DH might be a smidge better but no more than that. And he isn't used to it. Yes, we have Medicare, but you have to have part B coverage (and part D). We've been with the same HMO plan forEVER! Last company to buy it is folding and leaving us (some in plan without locations, but we're OK on that part) with one of the 3 local big hospitals to staff the site. And the latest is they're even dropping ins. business and handing it over to Medical Mutual. All this BEFORE our open season!!! Our doctor is leaving, so someday we'll find out who the doctors at our site will be and start seeing them. Chris, compared to your situation, not so bad, but for us a terrible disappointment and confusion. It used to be so good and easy.

Lighter news, just before we lost Internet I was able to send in an entry in a genealogy writing contest. Will learn outcome in April.

OK, Chris, after my ranting I'd better come through with your :cofbath: :-D
Your doctor visit with Cait sounds horrible, but at least she's got an appt. Hope the weekend is much smoother.

Nancy, that app sounds super! Glad you are getting those pix scanned. At least the Devils played well. Know you'll have a good weekend.

Kat, good luck with all the prep for the trip. It'll all be worth it!!

Trudy and Rae, hope you have a good weekend too.

Good morning, ladies. Had a lazy morning, slept in til almost 9:00 and then sipped my coffee and read my book for an hour. Got a phone call from a fellow looking for in-home care for his dog for a week later this month and then a few wkends over the summer and 3 wks in September. We're meeting up tomorrow to see if the dogs get along and if Beckam listens to me. He's an 11 yr old australian shepherd. Taz will be over the moon to have a buddy sleep over LOL. The sun is out today but then back to the rain tomorrow, of course, b/c we'll be out with Ava tomorrow. I'm housecleaning today and working on tax papers but tonight will relax, watch tv and scrap a bit.

Chris - hope the scan on Monday is helpful for Cait.

Jean - wouldn't that be fun to win the writing contest! Hope you hubs feels better soon. I had sciatica a few yrs ago and it was so painful. I send him healing prayers.

Kat - you must be getting excited for your trip!

Nancy - I might have to check out that app. I have tons of photos of my moms to scan some time.

BTW, Taz is fine. It was his anal glands, they drained them and told me not to let it go so long if it happens again (which it probably will). When I said I didn't think that was the problem as he wasn't scooting his butt across the floor as expected (I know, yuck, eh lol) the vet said they don't always do that but they do usually quickly turn around like someone just pinched their back end. I said, yes, he had been doing that but didn't clue in what it meant. Now I know. He was due for his yearly shots in a few weeks so he got those at the same time, so that's out of the way now too. He slept really well last night, poor little guy, it must have been such a relief to get that taken care of.

Morning ladies, quick pop in here for me today. We are out in the backyard while the sun is out and moving a Hydrangea Bush that suffered terribly last summer. Not enough moisture where it is and the cedars that the neighbours have on the other side of the fence stole all the water from it. Grrrr!! So we are busy doing yard work for a while. I will try to pop in later on today. Have a great Saturday morning everyone!!

Why can't I sleep past 5am? Yesterday was better- I think it was 5.30? Thankfully, I was able to listen to the audiobook I have now.Don't ask me what it is, it is a Swedish crime drama. The Disappeared, maybe? I finished teh newest Stephanie Plum yesterday. That was a perfect one for audio- if my mind drifted a bit, it wasn't a big deal. This one is a bit more difficult as the names/accepts are unfamiliar. I had started one last month that I had to give up on, It was about Berlin after the war, and it was very complex. Not something that I could listen to and digest easily. But I have to say that I am officially addicted to audiobooks now. I am finding ones that I would never had read. Since there is such a limited offering of a-books on the library website, it forces to me to find ones out of my regular choices.

Anyway, i was able to stay in bed to almost 6. I guess that is better than nothing. ;)

Yesterday was an ok day. I scrapped quite a bit, getting ready for the Birthday party. It is always so exciting here, I cannot wait! I was goign to make butternut squash and white bean enchiladas for dinner, but Cait said that she wouldn't be able to eat them (too messy!) since she and Brendan were heading out to see the school play right after.
Our school has the best Music Dept around, between the Band/Chorus/Theater. A lot of her friends are in the play, Young Frankenstein which is one of her favorite movies no less, so she really wanted to go. I can't wait for her to wake up so I can ask her what she thought.

Today I have to get ready for the week, I think I am cleaning tomorrow and I need to get a food shopping list going. I have to make an appt for the Attendance Hearing this week too. It is just such BS but it is the state law. I could see if she was doing poorly, but she was on honor role both marking periods. Her avg in GeoScience is a 99. She got a B in Western Civ and that is a college level/Honors course. But whatever... ugh.

After I catch up on that I want to clean up my office. I am sort of (very!!) mad at myself. As I was going through the photos this past month, there were so many that I wanted to scan/scrap. Of course, now I have no idea what they were.

Ok, the pups want to go outside. Better do that! xoxoxo!!

Nancy- I just checked out that app- looks really neat! They don't have it for android yet, but I signed up for updates. Not sure if my cell camera can handle that but can't hurt to give it a shot. TFS!!

How is Haddie today, Kat? So glad that she had no issues with the surgery. Were you able to bring her home yesterday too?
I can't imagine having a house without a dog. Walking in the door and not having someone there to greet me? Nope.
Give her belly a gentle rub from me!!

Jean- OMG- that is crazy about your dr leaving the plan now. It is like what happened with Cait's NP- she was there, then she was gone. Thankfully Cait is ok seeing the male dr but I know that she would prefer a female.
And Open Enrollment just closed!! Medicare opens in when, Nov? Dec? I hope that this settles out for you.
Thanks for the coffee!!

Rae- look at you, getting another potential dog customer! Maybe this is what you needed!!! yay!!!!
What book are you reading?
Glad it was just anal glands and that the vet was able to take care of it. Caitlyn's bunny had to have hers cleaned but we would do it at home. I miss her Bun but there are some things that I don't miss about her, that being one and the other being bunny pop everywhere. Bunnies are prolific poopers! LOL

Trudy- hope that you were able to get some yard work done and have a glass of your wine afterward.
The weather is still really cold here but I am looking fwd to mid week when it gets warm!

Have a wonderful day to all of you who pop in!

good morning! My DH and I had a great day. Just the 3 of us. Luther had attention all day. Today I took him on his first walk and OMgosh I can't believe how much more energy he has on his first walk. So glad my DH does the first on most days. Today we met people and he had so much energy he just wanted to play. Yesterday on my walk we met our neighbor Claire and her kids 4 and 1. And Luther was an perfect dog, not jumping and he gave kisses. And did not scare them so I was so proud. So glad that worked but he still is a puppy! Got some new actions to play with and so that took a while to load and figure how to play. I am very happy. I think they will be perfect for the wedding photos. Watched hockey and now I have a home game today. That will be fun! I spent over an hour with the apple support people trying to figure out why my old fonts won't work with this operating system. They load but they won't show up in the menu. But finally we got my favorite to load. I will just have to look for new handwriting fonts.

Chris I too woke up early and read and fell back to sleep. How fun that Cait went to the musical I bet is was awesome. Glad you got so much scrapping done. I am looking forward to the party.

Kat hope the chores get done fast so that you are ready for your trip! So hoping you get good news on Haddie's biopsy. It is always the waiting for me that is the hardest.

Rae so glad that Taz's problem was such an easy fix. And wow another dog job! How exciting for you!

Trudy hope you had a good day outside. I am so looking forward to our next week by Wed we should hit 70.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... DH is prepping his wine, just racking it so it will be ready in a couple of weeks to bottle. I get my 30 bottles of white that I won on the 19th, I can hardly wait to try it!!
party2-smiley.gif

Chris - I know what ya mean by not being able to sleep in! I am usually awake at 4am every morning, but I make myself go back to sleep. Sometimes it works, sometimes not and I get tired of tossing and turning!!
over-react-smiley.gif
I hate that when that happens!! That really sucks that you have to go to an attendance meeting!! WTH they know Cait has issues, I mean how long has she been going to school there?? What a hassle! Oh well I guess you will get it over with then. You would have loved being out in the yard with me yesterday! The weather was warm and the sun was shining so lovely, we got the flower beds all cleaned up and looking good again. Lots of pine cones and branches to pick up. I had to wear my wellies because the grass was so wet still. It was great to be outside! You have been a scrapping fool these past few days!! Love seeing your layouts! Hope Cait loved the show last night!

Rae - how exciting that you will be getting more doggie clients!! Hope that the dogs get along and that Taz has a fun time with his sleep over LOL. I heard this morning that parts of Coquitlam have power outages for most of the day because of an accident? Hope that it did not affect you in any way! Glad to hear that Taz is doing good!!

Jean - Oh how terrible that your Health Care is all falling apart!! I hope that you find out who your new Drs. will be soon and that you get to have the care plan that you like ! I have a hard time wrapping my head around all of your Health Care issues in the States, ours is easy we at least for now it is :becky: Hope your DH is feeling better soon, Sciatica is no fun at all. Has he tried a chiropractor, they seem to help a lot!!

Nancy - Nice that you 3 had a great day yesterday, lucky Luther had you all to himself! Nice that he is so good with the kids too, such a concern with big dogs, they sometimes still scare the heck out of me! I will have to check out your new apps. I got a bunch of free fonts from the App Store on my iMac, some really great ones, but lost so many when I had to restore my iMac after the Yosemite upgrade disaster!! So I go to Dafont.com a lot to look for some new ones when I can.

Sun is peeking out in between the cloud bursts of rain, hope to get out again today to do a bit more tidying up in the front yard today. But I think it is supposed to rain most of the day today. Oh well lots of inside work to do today too. Have a great one everyone!!

Good afternoon, ladies. Was out this morning meeting a possible new dog client. They want overnight care for their aging australian shepherd. Had wonderful time with them at the park and the two dogs walked around together, investigating sticks (Beckam isn't much of a runner anymore). They will let me know if they want to hire me. It'll be a week later this month, then a few weekends over the summer and then 3 wks in September.

We're heading out in a few minutes to go walk Ava. Luckily the rain stopped this morning and should stay clear for the afternoon. The dogs will get a nice long playtime this afternoon, then I'm off to the store for groceries. I'm going to try out my new pressure cooker that I got for Xmas and haven't gotten around to using yet. Hubs wants pork tenderloin if I find a good price or I'll do up a chicken dish.

I'll be scrapping tonight. Can't wait to see episode 2 of The Family tonight.

Trudy - no power outage here, that was about half a mile away from us luckily.

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.
