I am ready to march! Well, to be 100% honest, I am mentally ready, I still need to get in the shower and get bundled up. So there is that. But OMG- I am beyond thrilled that it won't be raining or snowing. I will complain about being cold but am *determined* to keep in mind that my temporary discomfort is *nothing* compared to all of the millions upon millions of people in the US who have been affected by gun violence. there was a video flying around the internet of a student from Baltimore (IIRC) who asks for a show of hands of how many people in the room have lost someone that way and all of the hands that raised... talk about getting chills.

Cait and I are both happy that we doing this together too. My next door neighbor and her husband, and I think her DD, who is in her 30's, are going. Brendan is meeting us there before he has to go to work.

I find that I have to channel my energy into doing something, no matter how small. It is one of the few ways that I don't despair more than I actually do.

Yesterday I went out with my mom. I was looking for a gift for my BFF's 50th birthday. We don't usually exchange b-day gifts but she and two of her friends are having a huge combined b-day bash in April so I had to get something. I was able to find a cute Lime Mojito scented candle that looks like a wooden rum cask. She has a lot of parties in the summer so I think that even if she doesn't like or need another candle, she can put it on her deck for company. We met up with Caitlyn at a diner on her way home from school which made my mom happy.

And of course for Nat'l Puppy DayI had to get them a new toy. OK-- it was actually purely coincidental, I was in Home Goods and they have those Indestructible Toys and there was a 2' long "snake" for $6. Cait carried the bag inside, W and J snagged it from her, and immediately started tugging and running off with it. How do they know what is in the bag, every time?

Sending you all happy wishes and wonderful days!

I have to be quick, I have to get in the shower and make sure my hair is dry before I head out.

Felis- yay for the Birthday O'Fairy, she is so generous! I can't wait to see what you create with the new kit!

Nancy- was that you I heard last night yelling at the Devils? I hope that they were happy yells, not angry ones at the refs.
My girls were fast asleep this morning and woke up as soon as they here the geese honking. Dogs!! Very happy that Luther stopped when you called. I don't know if any of my mine would listen to me.LOL

Trudy- I am sure that you are going to be very busy this weekend but hope you have a second or two to stop by. I think that knowing that you went through this is a comfort to Rae.

Rae-- I cannot tell you how relieved and happy that it makes me to hear that being able to pop in here -- even just for a wave to say hi - helps center you a bit.
I hope that by sharing small bits of her days good and scary helps you as well. To hear her laugh must be an amazing sound! Type it, relive it, share it with us. I can't think of the precise saying but sharing burdens eases the weight of your own. Sharing joys increases them.

Jean- enjoy your research today! Good to see some sun too.
I don't know which dog of mine is the goofiest. they all are. W is the weirdest by far. :D

Ok, my time is up... love and hugs!

For today I have to agree on 100% with Chris it's annoying to have a snow!
I can't remember exact when, but before few years we was outside to watch the stars at the Earth Hour. At the capitol will have fire show, but my town don't mention this movement at any way. One radio traditionally make acoustic concert on candles, which we will listened on my sister's cellphone, near to the fireplace. My family have own tradition to switch off the whole electricity for this hour, not only the lights. Also other years I'm planted flowers, but for now they will have to wait. At least I made a page about it.

Chris, go girl! Change the world! But please don't forget warm scarf for you and Cait! Happy birthday to your friend! The candle is great gift! I would like it.

Nancy, I also have to do that to take off few folders with photos from my computer. Also the new kits too. But probably after the O Party. Have fun on a Women Hockey League Championship! Oh, Luther is so fun! Good that he is listen you. Poor geese I'm not sure they will appreciate this kind of game that he was planned!

Trudy, have fun with the kids! I hug you strong for your kindly word and empathy, I hope you will can help on Rae at least with sharing similar stories! Oh and I saw the Mr. Abu's page, pretty tribute!

Jean, have fun with the research at historical society! Did you work on new big project or on your lectures for the genealogy group?

Rae, hope you finished fast at the government office! Whole this bureaucracy is always annoying! I'm happy that you can share this good sign. I'll repeat something that was tell you before: don't let words which comes from the addiction and not from her real personality to affect you! Hugs!

Ok girls, wish you all lovely weekend!

good morning and it is a good morning - my Devils defeated the Penguins 4-3 in OT. It was a hard fought not so much in physical but in that it was up and down the ice - chances at both ends and great saves and great goals. It was so tense. Even though the Devils went ahead 3-1 I knew it was still either teams game. The Pens tied it in the 3rd but just 27 secs gone in OT Taylor Hall scored on a break away. It was amazing as it was Nico Hischier who got the put after a battle with a Penguin and threw a perfect pass to Hall. It was so good. Then they had to fly home and tonight they play the Tampa Bay Lightning who have the best record in the East. In away it is good that they are getting battle tested so if they do make the play offs they know how to play the really good teams. My son did an awesome thing and fixed my living room so it looks much better. My DH is off at his university as it is a registration day for summer and the fall. It is a science oriented registration so he is needed.

Chris I am so proud to know someone marching! You go girl! I hope you take photos and post so I can see. Glad you found the candle. It will make a great gift.

Felis I am not sure I have heard earth hour talked about at all. I remember many years ago NYC turned off lights and so did we. But nothing that is really celebrated and not surprised when our President does not believe there is an environment problem. Have a fun weekend.

Trudy hope you are having fun with the grandkids.

Jean I think it is so cool how much you help others to discover how to find their ancestors.

Rae thanks for popping in and the update. So glad that she laughed. Every little bit is sure to help her and to help you and Jen keep smiling.

Have a great day all!

Happy Sunday!

I think that my brain and body have decided to give up on me today. All of the stress of the last month or so (months? years?? who knows anymore?? LOL) caught up and now I feel like I have been in a brawl.

My town's march yesterday was actually pretty impressive. As you have heard me say before, I live in a relatively rural area of NJ. Very conservative and very gun-friendly compared to a lot of other areas of the state. if your concept of NJ is based on the Jersey Shore TV show or -- I don't even know-- Nancy, help me out- who are some NJ stereotypes? hahah!! Joe Pesci's roles? hahahah!!!
At any rate, this area is the complete opposite. I was shocked at the turnout. Caitlyn and I expected maybe 20-30 people. I overheard one of the organizers say over a hundred. My neighbor thought about 200. I would guess closer to 200 too. At one point we were marching on the sidewalk in front of the main strip shopping center and the front of the March had already turned down the side and there were people still behind me. There were some little kids, some dogs (yay!), some older people, and lots of teenagers. The speakers- mostly kids- were amazing. As we marched along the center of town, we got a lot of beeps from the cars, some peace signs out of car windows. The police had to stop the traffic so we could cross so I bet there were some unhappy people too but mostly very supportive.
When I got home, I watched the DC March on C-SPAN. I am still getting chills at the speeches when I think back. Emma Gonzalez was so powerful. But I think my hero was Sam Fuentes, who overcome with emotion literally puked onstage and came back, finished the poem she wrote, then led the crowd in singing happy birthday to one of her schoolmates who died. MLK's granddaughter was there and she was adorable and amazing and has a dream of her own. There are still a few speeches that I didn't get to see live but want to go back and give a listen to at some point today.

This generation will either save us all or pick up the ruined bits of what we leave behind and rebuild a better place.
I hope it is the former.

Today, I am going to be hanging out here a bit, getting ready for the week and then to the FP really quick. They offer an Easter dinner- turkey and sides. Since we don't eat turkey, I asked if I could just get the sides- usually stuffing mix and some canned veggies so I am going to run out real quick for that,

I hope that all of you have a fantastic day!

Felis- I love how you celebrate Earth Hour, although I wish the weather was nice enough for you to plant the flowers you just got.

Nancy- great game for the Devils against the Penguins, how did they do last night?
High five to getting the LR fixed up, that is what Gary was doing yesterday too. He got some cool wooden crates from a friend and mounted them on the wall to put some speakers on.
School registration-- OMG- I have to talk to Cait, I think she has her On-Site Application tomorrow. I hope that she has everything. I think she was waiting for one transcript from a Dual Enrollment class that she took in HS. She has the grades entered on her PCCC transcript but Ramapo requested official transcripts for all schools attended. It shouldn't be a problem, I hope!
If it were up to DT, I bet he would turn every darn light on at Mar-a-Lago and the White House just to spite everyone. He is a horrible, horrible person.

I guess I should sign off for a bit, dogs need b-fast and so do I.

good morning - the MarchForLife marches were so impressive and inspiring. Westfield held our local march and I believe they are saying they drew in the low 1000s - not surprising at it drew from my town and other towns close by. My DH said the NJ transit train was packed with people heading to the NYC march. He had forgotten and did not expect the train to be so packed. So cool. Me I was off to the first home hockey game against a rested Tampa Bay Lightning team who scored 7 goals against the NY Islanders. Well the Devils won 2-1. They were winning 2-0 at the end of the second period. The Lightning scored early in the 3rd and after that it was the Devils trying to keep them from scoring. And OMgosh it was a nail biter. The woman that sits next to me was going crazy too and we decided we needed Pepto Bismal shots. LOL. I don't remember being this nervous for other of my teams and the play offs but most other times my team was not fighting to get into the play offs they pretty much had their spot tied up. Today I am off to lunch with my DIL and her brother and then to the Riveters championship game. Then home and watch more hockey. LOL. A long day but a fun day.

Chris I saw your photos on FB so cool! So proud of you and Cait even if your body is mad at you today! Good luck at the FP. Take it easy and enjoy that you did your part to bring awareness to this problem. The speeches were amazing. Chris there is a reason that NJ's nickname is the Garden State. You have to look beyond the NJ turnpike and the industrial area. Our state is gorgeous and so much to offer.

Waving to everyone. Have a great day!

Girls you was amazing! I watch the the March For Life this morning, I don't see Chris sign, because they showed us only Chicago and one from the Beatles. But this time was much better than the before news reports where they tried to show two sides and to explain what is forced these people to become murders, the ex military and the boy who is being invisible for his fosters and bad treated from his classmates. This times was only about the March and the law. As should be!

So Chris I'm so proud I know you and Cait!
Nancy, so cool that the woman next to you is been such a great company! Did your DIL and her brother will come with you to the championship game?! I try to stay away from wishing you luck before the game, because I saw it has opposite effect at past few cases I did it, so just have a fun!

I'm so blue today. I had a quarrel with my mom and if I'm take something from her genes that is ability to use words as a weapon. I know I should excuse her, because she had so difficult childhood and then she give us so good lifestyle. But sometimes I'm so tired to play this card and critique us for practically every difference in our ways of thinking. However I don't want to bother you with this.

Trudy and Jean have a fun! And hugs to Rae!

I did visit the historical society yesterday to look more at Swiss church records online. When I got home BIL was on phone needing assistance with putting images and spread sheet things into a Word doc. I actually got him doing it the way he wanted it. Last night watched NCAA basketball and doing so again now. It is sunny but still cold with snow still remaining in the shade.

Chris, wish you felt better physically, but you had such a good experience yesterday; hopefully that helps.

Nancy, know you'll be having a great time today and hurray for the Devils win last night.

Felis, hope you're getting over the flu. I'm sure the combination of health and weather didn't help you to deal with your mother. I really admired my mother, but I also liked it that she retired to live across the country from me.

Trudy, know you're having a wonderful time with the grands.

Rae, thinking of you.
