Remember when I said the other day that I was felt that I had messed up the countdown? Well- I had and in a very big way. (and none of you corrected me! WHY NOT?????? Bwahaha!!)
So guess what?? It is tomorrow!! As of the time I posted this-- it is less than 24 hours away.
How in the world did I mix it up so badly? My guess is that when I looked at the previous day's count, I went with one *more* day rather than one less. You all know that numbers mean nothing to me so... *shrugs* :)
I guess as long as I messed it up, it is better that Spring is closer than farther away.

It was incredible yesterday, the sun was so bright and warm. Wish it was like that today but heck, at least we are getting rain and not snow.
My mom and I had a good time at lunch. I had talked to my brother before she got here so we were on the same page with dealing with them and their surgeries. I know he is going to get hit harder with it since he lives 10 minutes away vs my 45. Scott and I are going to do some of the yard work that has to get done at their lakehouse and I'll make sure that both of their houses are cleaned. As for their moods/personalities/bickerings, they will be on their own. mmph.

Scott got the hole ready to bury Cordelia and I think we might have a small problem. teeny tiny. We have no idea where all of the rats are buried. Uh-oh!! We know where Muffin and Clover are, as well as Scott's 5 are, they are all in the backyard. We know where Tat is buried and we thought we knew where Liv and Imogene were. But we aren't sure........Imogene, Liv, and now Dilly are all along the side of the property where I have lots of flowers and shrubs planted. One of these days, I am going to be digging in there and I am going to hit a cardboard box or some fabric........

I am going to the FP this morning, and then I have sooooo much Cheery O work to catch up on. I have been neglecting the gallery.
I hope that the fog burns off soon, it is really thick out there.

Better post this and get in the shower soon.

PS: If you see me make a mistake or am wrong about something - whether it is small like the first day of spring- or big like calling a crocodile an alligator :p- call me out! I promise I won't bite. (but the allidile/crocagator might *blows raspberries at you all*)

xoxo

Super quick personals:

@BrightEyes very smart of Chari to do a dry run using the knee scooter around the house. You must be relieved that you can be online while she is too. very exciting to "see" the buds on your plum tree

@taxed4ever it is grey and rainy today here, is the sun out by you? Have a good time with your Gary today!
yes, Cait is OK, sad about Cordelia but relived that she was there for her at the end

@Kythe sending hugs to you and I hope that things don't become another storm xo

@tanteva Hope that you and Urban had a relaxing TV evening together. I am so sorry that you are still having a rough time, wish I could help

@Cherylndesigns Sorry I confused you- Dilly and Cordelia are one and the same. She had a million nicknames - From Dilly to Pickel to Noodle and Doodle Noodle

Had a good night's sleep... no waking up until 7AM this morning. But I have to admit that we didn't get to bed until midnight last night! What with one thing or another, I didn't get the eggplant/zucchini casserole started when I should have (it takes about an hour to put it together) so we decided to have frozen dinners instead. Then we watched "The Lake House" with Sandra Bullock DVD. Partway through it, we changed into PJs and Chari decided that we couldn't watch a movie without popcorn so she fixed a bag for us to share, Of course, she was not used to my microwave and didn't see the 'Popcorn' setting so she was using the minutes timer and the first bag burned... Good thing I have more bags. It was a very relaxing evening for both of us. All in all, it was a good 'trail run' day for her as she found several things that had to be adjusted as her working day went on. She will need to take more breaks as her knee gets tight from the angle when it is propped up. As she said... "it's going be the pits" when it is the real thing. Watched the weather forecast for Monday - when I have to take her over for the pre-surgery Covid test @ 3:30... it may snow in the afternoon and through the night into Tuesday!!! So we will have plan on more travel time to get there. And, of course, it is suppose to be sunshine and 60* on Thursday - surgery day.

Wow... not only did the plum tree have blossoms all over it... by late yesterday a lot of the leaves had opened! Yes, spring in showing her colors! @faerywings - no problem on your Spring Count being off a day. I certainly couldn't have told that it was off as I was thinking it would be on the 21st, too! Such a shame that both mom and dad have to have surgery... hope they can work out the timing so at least one of them can drive the other. Hope you and your brother can work out when each will be able to help them.

I hear Chari stirring. Will pop back in later.

Good morning.

Yes, Chris @faerywings I was confused over the name - but totally understand because we call our animals about 8 different things. LOL Anyway, I'm sorry for your loss.

I ordered a bag of wild flowers today and I'm going to throw them out into the front of the woods and into my "weed garden". Sadly, my sunflowers aren't coming up, yet, so I ordered a bag of giant sunflower seeds, too and some mullein. I know mullein grows wild, but I want to be sure of what I'm making into a tea. That's all we've order, for now, but my list is long. We still have some time. I want to go to Lowe's in a couple of weeks and see what they have herb-wise. I got my plants there last year and I also want to see what's coming back up.

It's almost 60 here right now - going up to 70.

Kay @BrightEyes sounds like you and your dd had a fun night - nothing like movies and popcorn. How nice to have her there.

Sending hugs to all who come in here and happy weekend.

Good morning ladies. It's less than 2 wks to move out day so I'll be around here and there but not much online time. We got a lot done but there is still so much to do. It really is a full time job. We sold everything we wanted to so that felt good. This morning we sold the other office desk and a big cart with drawers. I am waiting for a woman to come pick up the photography backdrops that she already paid for with etransfer which is so convenient. I found a big dark wood framed mirror on marketplace in Kamloops and paid for it already by etransfer and will pick it once we move.

I took a few bird photos this morning. I am sad to leave my birds behind, I've been feeding them for 25 years. I'm going to sprinkle a big bag of bird seed and squirrel food out behind the fence in the green space so the birds can have a big party when we leave :).

My back is holding up really well. I had two nights and one day when I had to lay down for quite a bit as I overdid it and i was exhausted and headachy but not too sore so I bounced back quickly.

Enjoy the wkend and I'll pop back in if I get a chance tomorrow. We have a sunny morning which is always nice. I'll get out in the school yard with the dogs later which they will enjoy. BFN

Chris @faerywings it seemed the count might be off, but I never checked to see for sure. I knew it was coming and that was all that mattered! :D Hugs to Cait and all of you over Dilly, but glad she had company at the end.

Today was the computer genealogy group that runs 9:30 to 2:00 and I do two portions, so I'm a little out of it for now and DH is watching March madness in the other room. Want to join him, but I've got a bit to write for a newsletter that I promised by Monday, so should work but I'd rather not.

Eva @tanteva sorry you're still not feeling right, but you did very nice LOs despite it. Are you just working Thursdays now? Glad you got through this week OK. Wish I could send you chocolate but I'd probably eat it first myself.

Everyone, wishing you a happy spring start tomorrow!!!

Yay!! WE MADE IT!!!!!!

officially spring! In spite of me messing up the countdown :D It was gonna get here one way or the other, I suppose.
The weather was awful here yesterday morning, the fog was really bad to drive in. I felt like I wasn't wearing my contacts because everything was fuzzy and blurry just a few yards away. It was worth driving to the FP cause they had ENTENMANNS! Woot! Someone also makes homemade bread and donates that and I was able to get a loaf of that and I had three slices with dinner. So darn good! One time last year, someone had made homemade chicken soup and that was incredible When I went back the next time, I asked if they knew who made it because I wanted the recipe and if they were getting it again. I brought home a new dog toy too and of course, that is de-stuffed and de-squeaked already.

Nothing happening here (what else is one) but if it dries out a little, I might start clearing leaves off of my plants. It thunderstormed last night and everything is soaked.

@BrightEyes You and Chari are a good team, aren't you? Movie night with popcorn, sounds perfect. Keeping my fingers crossed that the weather cooperates all week for you two.
I am so happy to hear that you have leaves on the plum tree now too! Thank you for sharing news of that lovely spring growth.

@Cherylndesigns Isn't it the truth, more nicknames than actual names for our pets? It amazes me that they know when to respond to us LOL
I am going to want to get to a Christmas Tree Shop soon, they always have inexpensive bags of wildflower seeds. I save a ton of marigold seeds and morning glories but I like wildflower mixes too.
Enjoy the nice weather

@bcgal00 congrats on selling everything so quickly. You really are on track to get it all set. At least that is how it seems to me. At any rate, you are so much more organized than I could be. Even packing a suitcase I end up throwing everything *and* the kitchen sink in it.

@felis thank you, I will pass the hugs along to Caitlyn. It was not a good week for pets in my extended family. My BFF had to put her cat down on Tuesday and my SIL/BIL had to put their dog down on Friday :(

@scrap-genie Yes, all that mattered was that Spring was on its way! :)
Did you work on the newsletter yesterday? I hope after all of the group meetings you were able to decompress too. Being "on" for so long wipes me out so I understand feeling a little out of it after that.

@Lynn Grieveson LOL When I first saw the big bird party, I read it as a Big Bird party, lots of fluffy yellow feathers everywhere! LOL!!

HAGD!

Good morning ladies! So it is spring today!!!! Thank goodness I read that because I sure wouldn't have wanted to miss it! Good job on the countdown Chris. Even if it was slightly off. LOL

It sounds like spring at my house for sure. The birds are singing like crazy in the preserve behind the house. I had such a good day yesterday. One that you just want to capture and remember forever. Sydney and I left for Gainesville at 9:00. She drove---she drives all of the time but she had never driven that far at one time so told her she needed to get into practice. It's only 67 miles but like everything in Florida, it takes a long time to get there (about 1 1/2 hours). She is a very good driver---drives a little too fast but a good driver. We then spent all day walking around the campus. It is huge...2000 acres. We took time to have lunch and then I offered to drive back home. I had 14,183 steps at the end of the day. She asked if I would drive home so, of course I did. I took a nap when we got home and then Syd asked if we could watch a movie together. She chose A Dog's Purpose which we had both seen before. We laid on the sofa together with her head on my arm and the movie (and the emotions of the day) did cause me to cry. One of the best days ever. Memory of a lifetime.

Shaun has a history project that requires him to document old family photos so I guess I will be helping with that today.

@faerywings I am so sorry to hear about Cordelia but so grateful that Cait didn't have to make a decision about ending her life. That is so very, very hard. ((hugs)) to your whole family as I know it was emotional for all of you. Ugh about both of your parents needing surgery soon. Hopefully, they can get the timings worked out so that it won't be terrible. Can I tell you that secretly I hope your mom goes first so that she doesn't get cold feet and put off the pacemaker even longer. Decker is doing well and Brian took him yesterday morning to work with the other people. Honestly, Decker is doing fine but these poor people are very timid. I think that they really want him but they are just so scared and frankly, their dog needs some training.

@BrightEyes how exciting about the buds on the plum trees. I love plum trees. And how fun to have Chari with you to watch the movie and have popcorn. Sounds like a very special time. Hope her recovery is easy but I know that she has a good nurse.

@bcgal00 less than two weeks...wow! And that you managed to sell everything that you wanted is really good news. How is the freezer purge coming? I know how much you will miss your birds but lots of new discoveries ahead, right? Glad that your back is hanging in there. You definitely want to feel good when you reach your new home.

@Cherylndesigns so excited to hear that you are planting wildflowers. I have always wanted a place where I could do that. You will need to take pictures once they are all blooming.

@Kythe thinking about you and hoping that things get better soon.

@felis always good to see you in here.

@scrap-genie love how involved you are with your genealogy groups. But do hope you got a little bit of time to slip in with your husband and watch March Madness.

@Lynn Grieveson waving a quick hello.

Now, off to do some scrapping which is sorely lacking. And some gallery browsing/commenting. How can it already be March 20.

Morning all... and WELCOME TO SPRING!!! Too bad that the weather forecast for our area Monday and Tuesday is for snow/sleet... but then the warming trend begins and we should be up into the 70's - near 80's by Friday/Saturday!!! :D Chari was commenting that she was glad she brought down some shorts.

Oh, we had a fun day yesterday... had fresh baked berry muffins for brunch. Talked a lot since she was not working yesterday. And made the eggplant-zucchini casserole along with a apple/banana/orange salad for supper. Then once she got Netflix set up on her computer and hooked into my big TV we were binge watching season 1 of Bridgerton and indulging in hot peach cobbler with ice cream for dessert. What a great way to spend the day. Tomorrow she is back at work until Thursday when she has surgery. As she said... the weekend was a wonderful break from work and fantastic just to indulge in sleeping late then having 'girl time' the rest of the weekend. It was great for both of us.

I hear her stirring so no personals today. CYL

Enjoy your spring LOL. Heading into Autumn here. It's still OK most of the time though. But I am not looking forward to winter. It's pretty grey and miserable for many months where we are (closest capital in the world to Antarctica!) and certain people in our household really struggle with that. It's been WAAAY too long since we have been able to travel and it is wearing thin, although I feel like we have it so easy that I don't grumble.

I've been trying to wrangle some home exchanges with people in Australia and France (they wanted to use our place later this year, now New Zealand is preparing to let visitors back in) and we could have used their places in 2023. But it's so hard now that so many people are on the site, they always wait for a better option or are juggling several requests. When we used to do it, it was so much easier as it was smaller and it always went really smoothly.

My new fridge did not arrive as promised :-(. Hopefully today!

@BrightEyes That Lakehouse movie is really fun. I keep thinking there is some huge flaw in the logic of it and it nags at me LOL. But I've still watched it a few times. And Bridgerton is such a guilty pleasure, even DH has fun watching it ;-)

@Cherylndesigns Love the weed garden idea :)

@LSlycord that history project sounds fun. I think anyone would asked me for help with that would regret it LOL (three days later and Lynn's still talking and showing photos ...)!

Good morning ladies. Got a fair amount of sorting and packing done this morning so am sitting down to relax for a bit before lunch and then will get at it again. Watched the finale for Star Trek Discovery last night and also caught up on Blacklist. I saw that it got renewed for another season...yay. I have been finding printed photos tucked here and there in drawers, bins, etc and am so glad that once we move all the photos will be stored in one place. I am excited to start scanning them and scrapping. I have photos from the 1930's and onward. I have photos from my mom and aunt and tons of heritage photos of people I don't know but they are family related as they were passed on to me from my aunt's estate.

I am starting to miss scrapping so know that I will enjoy it once I get settled in the new place and get settled in. I'm excited to see how it feels to get up each morning and have nothing special to do, I can explore Kamloops and find good hiking trails and beaches for the dogs and not have to worry about rushing home to work. It'll take awhile to get totally settled b/c we have lots of furniture to buy and lots of unpacking but it'll be at a more leisurely pace.

The dogs are napping, I can enjoy a bit of quiet time now.

@faerywings Sorry to hear about Cordelia but glad C didn't have to make the decision.

@Lynn Grieveson Good luck with the home exchange. I agree, COVID has made what used to be fairly simple arrangements now very difficult.

@BrightEyes I get the muffins were good. I can't wait to get into my new kitchen and bake. I am craving muffins and cookies.

Time for lunch. Meals are pretty simple now these last few wks. Soup, cereal, toast or bagel are my lunchtime choices. I've packed up most of the kitchen so keeping things easy. I think a bagel and cream cheese sounds good.

BFN...have a good day everyone.

Good evening!

I've been gone all day with the girls. Roger left this morning for Florida - LOL - we always plan a couple of days out when he's gone. Girls Gone Wild. J/K - Chuck doesn't care - we've been there, done that. He and Rog made it out for breakfast before Rog left, though. That's a standing date when Roger's here.

We drove about an hour away to shop today - had lunch first then went to TJ Maxx and Five Below. The others went to Buckle, but I passed on that. I got a bunch of Easter/spring stuff - still haven't found my Easter goodies, so I bought more. TJ Maxx has good prices. I got 2 wreaths (one Easter and one "everyday") and a couple of Easter decorations and some stuff for my wreaths.

Ava got a new puppy - a Chocolate Lab - I haven't said anything because a couple of them have not panned out. She got her girl yesterday and brought her over last night. I'm in love!! She named her Ellie - Chris @faerywings, we're going to have a dozen nicknames for Ellie - "Ellie Belly", Ellie the Elephant" to name a few. She's SO cute - I loved on her for so long that Daisy was jumping on me out of jealously. Chuck walked out and I looked at him and said "I want one". He just rolled his eyes. We had a Chocolate Lab named Macey. We've had 3 Labs and they're SO sweet. I'll put some pictures on here tomorrow.

Chris, Lynn @Lynn Grieveson and Linda @LSlycord I can't wait to plant my wildflower seeds in part of them will be in my weed garden. The rest will be in the front of the woods - I don't want to impede where Braden mows, but he doesn't go into the woods.

Kay @BrightEyes your meal sounds delicious!! I love eggplant!! Glad things are going so well.

Rae @bcazzell sounds like your packing is going well - the countdown is beginning.

Happy First Day of Spring everybody!! It was in the high 70's today and very sunny - we even ate our lunch outdoors. It was so nice.

LOVE and HUGS to all.
