Happy St Patrick's Day weekend! Is anyone off to drink green beer? LOL!

I must have been really tired from the noise-stress this past week. I woke up at 4.30 and thought I'd never fall back asleep, only to wake up at 6.45!
Of course, I *wanted* to be up a little earlier this morning, I am going to an End Of Winter Tree Walk at the NJ Botanical Gardens today. I have to leave here around 9.40 but it seems to take me longer and longer to get rolling in the mornings.

Great news! The bathroom is 95% done! There are two small places where the grout needs to be patched up and then Cait and Tom will paint tomorrow. I think my internal head is going to feel so much calmer without all of the noise. And *fingers crossed* maybe I'll be able to keep working on the tasks I have to do. I tried to get some of it done yesterday but not anywhere close to what I wanted. I was able to get some rough ideas on paper for Caitlyn's shower. Thank goodness for my BFF, she'll get me through it in one piece. This is ironic because, on our own, we are basket cases. But when we team up, she'll get me through s*** and vice versa.

I'd better post this, I need more coffee and then I have to get dressed and out of here :)

Coffee Mug #2 Successfully inhaled :coffeedrinker: LOL!

@vickyday Such a great idea to have read the medical info first and now moving on to deeper research. I hope that you find all of the answers you need. Also very smart to listen to your body and rest when you need it.
I can't believe you and Mark put the AC on, but if you hit 80, it's not surprising that you needed to.

@BrightEyes How is the weather holding out for you guys? I bet you had another fantastic visit with Jim and Dee. when do they head out? Wishing them easy travels when they do.

@Cherylndesigns Your heart must have been so full when you saw Braden! You have the (2nd) best grandkids :heartpumppink:
Poor Daisy, did she come back from the groomer bald or semi-bald? I'm sure that she understands you are doing your best and will give you big kisses always. Love to hear that Marley is hanging in!

gotta run again-- xoxoxo

The End of Winter Tree Walk sounds like fun! Have a great time!
I'm glad the construction is almost done and you can move on to other things!
But, by bed time I was freezing with the AC on! I had to put my warm pjs on after my shower. Then I added a blanket. Then I added my housecoat! It hasn't been that warm since. Rained a lot yesterday! Looks like it could today, too, even though the sun is shining right now, just not so brightly. Mark is in the woods sitting by the fire and listening to the birds!

Good Morning!
54* right now with sunshine. At 10 AM the clouds start rolling in for just a couple of hours before it shows sunshine for the rest of the afternoon and a high of 68*. At 5 PM the clouds start rolling in again but no rain is showing on the forecast! That will make Mark happy! The target practice was rained out last Saturday. One of the guys might come today but has some other chores that he needs to work on first.

I have no plans today. Probably just some more research on enzymes and digestive aids. I did get a scrapbook page done yesterday. Ended up doing the laundry, too. I need to sweep today. I think I'll get Roomba going after while. I need to wash the bed linens, so I think I'll get that done after I finish up here.

Sending hugs to everyone! :hug4:

HAGWeekend! :bye2:

Cold (37*F) and cloudy still this AM with 70% chance of rain/sleet. At least the winds have diminish down to below 30mph this morning. Wow... the winds have been bad - roof blown off of buildings, patio awnings twisted and blown into trees, and power outages all over town. Dee is lucky that they have solar power on the trailer as the park they were at lost power 2 nights ago but they didn't realize the power was out for awhile. My neighborhood didn't lose power as all our electric lines are underground. Dee and Jim came over yesterday for a couple of hours. They had stopped at Crispy Creme and bought donuts... when she opened the box - she did a double-take... they were green!!! Of course, it is St Pat's weekend!! We all had a good laugh about the color. They are heading out this morning. I just checked the camera at Raton Pass - snow on the ground but road looks clear - thank goodness. It was closed yesterday due to snow and fog. They have to be in South Dakota on Monday morning so they have to leave here today. It was so great to have them here for the visit. I need to call my sis today as I missed her birthday yesterday and to let her know that Dee and Jim are on the road again. I had enchiladas for supper last night - and still had enough sauce for another meal. Decided to freeze it and have it later.

Not planning on doing much as the back and feet and shoulders are aching big time with the higher humidity and change in barometer pressure. Time to take pain meds and to pull out the Dr Scholl's chair massager. Haven't used it in a couple of months... << sigh >> Glad I have frozen dinners so no need to stand and cook... just nuke one for supper.

@faerywings So glad the bath reno is done except for a couple of grout spots. The End of Winter Tree Walk sounds like it will be so much fun!! Enjoy being out.

@vickyday Good luck on your research... glad you are having some nice weather.

@Cherylndesigns I hear you about all the paperwork that comes in... just make sure that papers you get rid of are duplicates. I got several when hubby passed - but turns out there was more charges in addition to others that had already been turned in. You are right about it never being a paperless society... But, as VickyD said... I like to have the papers in my hand so I can easily compare them.

Off to get some pain meds, more coffee and sit on the massager. HAGD

Morning all,
It's a beautiful day, and 60 going up to 68. It must have been colder because the furnace was running when we got up. It was hot in here, so I turned it off. It's still dipping down into the 40's at night.

Chris @faerywings glad you're in a better headspace and have a wonderful time today - that sounds like a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I'm sure you're glad to see the construction coming to an end - like you said, just some "touch ups". When are Cait and Tom planning on moving in? You and your BFF sound like me and Adrienne. We always calm each other down, too.

Kay @BrightEyes sounds like you had tornado type winds. We had a short one day before last - it was SO dark and windy with thunder and lightning. It came up out of nowhere and the house was rattling. Adrienne called me right away to see if I was ok. Glad the weather will be decent for the kids to travel today. Green donuts, lol. Everything turns green this weekend. I am VERY careful about the "duplicates" and the 6 I got the other day were "explaining your rights, etc. blah blah blah". The front page was stamped "this is not a bill". I used to work in Blue Cross/Benefits at a major corp and people would bring all that stuff in to us in a panic and we always pointed that out to them. People saw those reams of paper and that they were from SS, Medicare, insurance companies, etc and panicked. And yes, I have had two charges go through - from Chuck's surgery - it's always anesthesia and bloodwork that they drag out for months. I DID get a letter from our United Health Care telling me that I was to forward any bills to them. Our United Health Care pays all out of pocket and that's why we have them. BTW, it could never be a paperless society - we all knew that. However, they COULD cut down on the amount of paper that we still get. I think it might even save these companies some money. :floorlaugh:

Vicky @vickyday I sure hope you find some good information on enzymes and digestives. Have you looked into herbalism? I have gotten relief from gingerroot powder. It's for your digestive system. I keep it in a little saltshaker and put it in my tea in the morning and at night. We have a couple of herb stores right here in our little town. Here's a link to Nicole Apalians' website - she's a PhD in Herbalism and her story is fascinating. She also sells products that she makes, including tinctures (which are easy to take). https://nicoleapelian.com/ I've never bought anything from her, but I have done my research from her articles and developed my night time tea from what i read on there, then I buy my herbs in bulk from Amazon. It wouldn't hurt to take a look. Here's a link where you can enter your "issue". https://nicoleapelian.com/about-nicole-apelian/ Her story is fascinating - I promise!

Gotta run - I need to get in the shower and the girls are coming down in a little bit. Happy Saturday.

Daisy looked cute - pretty short, but cute. I couldn't get the mats out of her ears, so the groomer had to shorten them up a lot. Her tail looks a little skinnier, too. She needed to be taken down and I am going to try to keep her ears and tail brushed now that it's manageable. Yes, it was a wonderful surprise to see Braden walk in. We DO have the best grandkids (both of us) don't we??? I have a "thing" that i always say to B: "I miss your face". He just smiles that beautiful smile when I tell him that. :heartpumpred::heartpumpred::heartpumpred:

Yes, the massager is by Dr Scholl's. It sits on a chair/recliner. It has the seat and back portion... the massager can be turned on each section with or without heat. It is the 5 Motor Full Cushion Massager... You can find it at WalMart or Amazon.

Hello O-Fam! Happy Sunday to you all!
I finally see the light at the end of the bathroom reno-tunnel. dance4 The grout is all fixed, Cait and I got the primer on the walls, and then she and Tom are painting it today. I cannot wait to see the unveiling.
The next step is the floor in their LR. Gary pulled all of the carpet and padding up. When he is up to it, he'll install the laminate. Then the two of them can get the room set up the way they want it. It's exciting!

Exciting is more than I can say for the tree ID walk. The leader for it was the arborist/landscape architect for the Botanical Gardens for years, now retired. He led a beautiful and informative walk. Unfortunately, he spoke in mostly Latin terms for different species and cultivars. That went over my head. *whoosh!* But aside from that, I loved seeing all of the trees budding and a few (cherry) were blooming. So I wouldn't say I gained a lot of information but I was thrilled to be outdoors.

It looks like it's supposed to rain on and off all day today. Maybe --just maybe-- I'll be able to get myself organized and ready for the week.

HAGD!

@vickyday Haha-- that is how I live in the summer when Gary puts the AC on-- covered in blankets while he sweats. Did the weather cooperate for Mark's time in the woods yesterday? I hope that you were able to get some more research done too.

@BrightEyes Ugh about the cold rainy, sleeting weather. Someone on the walk said she didn't think we'd get another freeze this season. Ummm, I am sure we will. Our last hard frost date is May 15 and I know it has snowed in April/early May before. Too many memories of frozen birds and bunnies :brokenheart:
I'm sending good weather thoughts to Jim and Dee. The solar panels on the RV are such a smart idea, I bet that they come in handy very often.
I hope the weather stabilizes so you aren't in pain.

@Cherylndesigns maybe in a couple of weeks, your overnight temps will be above 40 consistently. :praying2:
I think Tom will move in "officially" in April. Caitlyn is going to a work conference in early April so some time after that.
I have been friends with my BFF since we were 5 and I don't know what I would do without her. We are hot messes on our own, but we hold each other up somehow when we need to.
I can't imagine the paperwork and insurance submissions you are dealing with. My cynical take: insurance companies know for darn sure that people will overpay because they don't know better and are overwhelmed by the papers and "bills." Why would they change how things are processed? They are raking in one way or another
I bet Daisy looks sweet with her haircut!

Vicky-- good luck with the herbals!

Good morning,
Quick in and out before I have to get my shower and get ready for church.
It's 52* going to 68 before it starts dropping off with mostly cloudy skies all day.

Mark worked hard at the saw mill all day yesterday. It was a beautiful day. And I got a good walk in back in the woods while listening to my audiobook. I don't walk back there unless Mark is home.

I scrapped a page of my walk yesterday and also ran the robot to sweep while I washed the bed linens. I fixed scrambled eggs with peppers and spinach and fixed some frozen biscuits for breakfast and it lasted most of the day. We did YOYO (you're on your own) for supper. It was a good day.

Hope you have a great Sunday!

Morning, all. Woke up to rain/snow/sleet - 35*F - this morning. Not going to complain about the rain as we can use it. Can't see the mountain due to low clouds all the way down to the foothills. We may get to 45*F... if we are lucky. This will be another bundle up in sweats and stay in day. I am out of milk and coffee creamer so will need to get to the store tomorrow.

Happy St Patrick's Day to those who celebrate it. Enjoy your corned beef (and cabbage).

I vegged most of yesterday... read off and on most of the day. I am re-reading Dee Henderson's books. When arthritis hits, I need something to take my mind off of it and the brain needs old familiar friends. And, yes, @vickyday, I used the massager to help with the back pain. Your scrambled eggs with peppers sound really good. Debating between having them for lunch or supper. They are a quick meal to fix so I don't have to stand too long. I don't eat spinach but love red bell peppers.

House is warm so heading for the shower now. HAGD

Good afternoon O Fam,

Beautiful here but only 56 and very windy. The sun is shining so it's all good. The dogs (Lila's here) have been going nuts barking and there are two dogs out by the house. One of them is that Great Pyrenees that runs around loose and always heads up here. He's shaved now and I barely recognized him. He's HUGE, even w/o all of his fur. I don't know who the other dog is. These girls are losing it right now and I hope they go home before I have to let them out again.

Chris, the reno/redecorating sounds like it's humming right along, and April isn't very far away. You will all get along well. We did that for about a year with Steph and her husband, and it worked just fine. Like I said, you all just have to get along and we got along well, and I know the four of you do, too. We actually had a lot of fun during that year. They lived with us two different times. About the nighttime temps, it has to be 65 at night for 3 consecutive nights before we can put it together. I'm getting very anxious!

"I can't imagine the paperwork and insurance submissions you are dealing with. You KNOW that people just go ahead and pay, Chris. It's SO easy to get confused when all the stuff they send out. On the phone, they tell you one thing, then you get a letter saying just the opposite from "the company". I know a lot of it is auto-generated, but still. If THEY owe US, they'll string that out - everybody is using everybody else's money. :cuffed: I think it's like a shell game. :soapbox:

Vicky @vickyday sounds like a nice walk and I'm with Kay @BrightEyes eggs are sounding mighty good right now. I had some left over fish so I had a fish taco again last night for my dinner. I put shredded cheese, avocados and mango pieces on it and Caesar dressing. I need to get some lettuce. I fixed the frozen fish in my air fryer night before last and it was perfect. I heated them up and crisped them up a little again last night.

Kay @BrightEyes snow, sleet and 35? Stay warm and inside.

I'm going to go now and fix me some eggs. :floorlaugh:
